“My husband and I went on Friday night for dinner. Could not wait to try the new menu and it was simply awesome. To start with, our sever team was Isaac and Cheyanne and they were great. We never waited for anything. The Hot Crab Claws and Foie Gras Torte for appetizers were divine. I ordered the Duck Cassoulet and my husband had the visiting fish, Sea Bass over Yakamein. While the fish was excellent, the Duck ruled the table. Thanks to the Servers and Kitchen for a wonderful meal. We'll be back.“

“One of the best meals I’ve had in New Orleans was at Toups! We had a charcuterie board with their house made hogs head cheese, chicken liver mousse and foie gras accompanied by house pickles. Simply incredible!! The hogs head cheese was the best I’ve ever had! I especially loved the chunkiness of it with nice pieces of tender pork! The crispy turkey necks! Oh my goodness… AMAZING! The braised lamb neck entree was exquisite with a generous portion and crispy spaetzle! Even leftover, it was great!! I also had their pork chop and applesauce cocktail which was creative and also delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant! Great work Chef Isaac and team!“

“Had an amazing experience eating at Dakar NOLA. The menu was fresh, thoughtful and a great marriage of Senegalese and New Orleans flavors. The service was top notch and because it’s a relatively small restaurant, the atmosphere was intimate and relaxed. “Recent dinner at the Jazz Bistro. Food was impeccable. service by server Sarah, was inconsistent and inattentive. Struggled to get her attention to place order. She ignored us for table of six. Surly, rude, unhelpful, no personality. spoke with young manager on duty; he listened, but said NOTHING in response to my concerns.(I identified myself as a former food and beverage manager with Hyatt Hotels and considerable restaurant experience.) Don't expect attention here, even if your needs are minimal. Other staff were charming, which made Sarah look even more inept.“

“Wild South is the best place to enjoy a cozy, delicious meal focused on Southern cuisine.
We went on a Wednesday night the week before Christmas, so it was slower than normal, which allowed us to sit at the chef's table and get unfettered attention from the staff and chefs. We ordered the 5 course prefix menu, and everything came perfectly timed, and perfectly portioned, to the point where we left satisfied but not overly full. I paired this with their Sherry flight, which allowed me to experience a wide range of styles they have to offer.
The first course was an escabeche-esque snapper, eaten in a rice cracker. The second course was an ode to New England style chowder. Both items were not listed on the menu at the time.
We were interrupted by an intermezzo of uni and trout roe topped chicken schnitzel bites, followed by the vegetable course of broccolini, carrots and peppers, topped with a pumpkin XO sauce, and goat creme fraiche.
The main course was a brined and one-week dry-aged pork chop, with radicchio and sweet potatoes.
Pre-dessert was a refreshing scoop of strawberry sorbet, and dessert was a nod to chocolate mint ice cream, but with merengue and toasted sesame, along with Creole cream cheese custard with strawberries and poached carrots.
Overall we had an amazing time, enjoying our camaraderie with the chefs and staff, and would highly recommend going back and enjoying a meal with friends. We will definitely be back when we return to New Orleans.“

New Orleans is home to many fine dining restaurants but none dinner than Brigtsen's. it's friendly, distinguished, welcoming to all. I'm not a fancy person and I've never felt out of place here. You won't find a better place to dine.“

But shiiiiiiiit my 98% Caucasian self was rocking in the corner sobbing because my 2% African heritage (thank you ancestry.com) was set free and gone wild. I have no idea what they do to the food here (clearly I can't cook) but daaaaaaaaang my taste buds have never been so happy. I'm saving the green beans for last, never in my life have I said that.
