“Visiting New Orleans from Pennsylvania over the Fourth of July, we asked a few locals near our hotel where we could find a true neighborhood dive bar. Every road seemed to lead to Erin Rose, and they absolutely nailed it.
This place has everything you want in a dive bar—cold drinks, zero pretentiousness, and a crowd that makes you at home. The bartenders were the real stars of the show. Super engaging, quick with a drink, and happy to chat. We ended up getting a fun history lesson on Vodoo and she made the experience even more memorable.
The biggest surprise? There's an incredible po'boy spot tucked in the back, so you can grab tasty sandwich a few steps from your barstool.
If you're looking to skip the tourist traps and experience a genuine New Orleans neighborhood bar, this is the spot. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.“

“Nice little taco spot. Great for the area thats a food desert for 1st timers but those in the know, know little spots here and there. You just need to wait them out. Everybody is very opinionated. You just need to find your lane and merge in.“

“I drove AT NIGHT. WITH AN ASTIGMATISM. all the way from DA PARISH to THE CITY for this bread pudding. Took a wrong turn down a one-way like a true local menace, didn’t even put my dentures in, and would absolutely do it again because this bread pudding had me seeing God, my ancestors, and Louis Armstrong all at once. Soft. Sweet. Soaked just right. Illegal in at least three states. Now let’s talk about the REAL MVP: the waitress/bartender with the cute lipstick. Ma’am was serving looks, vibes, and hospitality like she was born behind that bar during Jazz Fest. Sweet as pralines, sharp as a Saints comeback, and made the whole place feel like your favorite cousin’s house—if your cousin knew how to pour a drink and flirt professionally. I am currently eating this bread pudding right next to the establishment like a raccoon with a treasure, specifically to keep my husband from getting a bite. He had 45 whole minutes to get out of bed, put on clothes, and drive me here before closing—and chose violence (sleep). That’s on him. I chose dessert. 10/10. Worth the drive, the risk, the one-way street, the bare gums, and the marital pettiness. New Orleans at its finest.“

“I have been sending people to Bar Tonique for close to a year from my position as liquor vault manager at the Sazerac House. So many return to tell me what a great experience they had & to thank me for recommending it. I have left the position at Sazerac House & won't be sending any more from there, Good luck to all the craftsmen & women behind this truly wonderful place!“

“Denied access to a legally allowed service dog without any interest in making accommodation. The dog tucked immediately under the table where she is supposed to be and the server (maybe owner) came over immediately asking for paperwork, which isn't required in the United States. Any paperwork provided is typically bought off the internet. Don't waste your time or money here. Sharing their intolerance on every platform. Also just found out that the person who told us we couldn't eat there laughed and tried to joke with the rest of our party and offer free drinks after the fact like that was going to fix splitting our dinner party.“

“Recently went for lunch at MRB during our vacation in New Orleans. It was the best gumbo we had on our whole trip, and we had it at a few places! I also loved the fried green tomato sandwich. Don't let the fact that this is a food truck in the courtyard of a bar deceive you...food is delish!!“

“A classic New Orleans stop for a reason. Yes, it gets busy, but the line moves and the experience is worth it. The oysters were fresh and flavorful, and overall the food delivered on that classic New Orleans seafood experience. The energy inside is lively and fun, which adds to it. We particularly love the raw oysters and grilled oysters. The Fried fish, potato salad and even coleslaw we’re actually pretty good as well It’s definitely more on the touristy side, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re visiting — a staple that lives up to the hype.“

“This was my first time in this area, so I wanted to pick a restaurant that truly reflects something I enjoy; while I traverse through this new landscape. My standards were high, but I can assure you that this restaurant did not fail by any regards. The broth has that special “oomph”, and the amount of certain cuts they give you was plentiful. The only critiques that I have is they were very stingy with the meatballs. Now I love my meatballs so I was a bit disappointed. Also, a dollar for chili oil I think is a bit steep. However, overall, when I tell you, this food is good. When I had my first bite, a smile came to my face instantly because it is so delicious. Please give this place a try!“

“Stop in to get takeout from one of the pop up restaurants that I follow on social media! I was very impressed with the beer garden. Grabbed some to-go beers and a pretzel 🥨. The staff were helpful and just frickin cool! Not to mention the beer garden atmosphere was warm and welcoming! Definitely worth the stop, and I look forward to going back with the family.“

“They craft all of their baked goods on site and it’s obvious someone has real skill. We had a croissant with pecan, coconut and filled with a pecan paste and it was in a word- amazing. Great atmosphere and the barista was fun to talk to about dialing in for coffee every time they change beans. Great time and great place.“

“Really enjoyed the atmosphere at this local English pub. The bartender was friendly and quick, the music was at a great volume for conversation, and the whole place had a welcoming, laid-back energy. It felt like a true neighborhood spot where regulars and newcomers alike could feel comfortable.
I also appreciated that it was pet-friendly and had a food truck outside, which added to the experience. The large outdoor area is a great place to enjoy a drink when the weather is nice. Overall, it has a homely local pub vibe while still accommodating larger crowds and visitors passing through.“
“If you like sours, this is your place. However, if your not a sours person like me, there are still some great choices. I got a pickled sour with habaneros that I really enjoyed. The Michelada looks delicious! I also had a frozen drink made with their beer which was excellent. You can get 8 Oz pours for like $5. Nice courtyard! I'm coming back to try their Japanese food truck.“

“Thank you Katy and crew!!! I was there 6/27, I came in feeling down and out. Everyone was upbeat and friendly. The food and coffee were amazing, my compliments to the chef! I would have came back the next day, but I overslept and needed to check out. Y’all were all amazing and I left feeling so much better than when I got there. Tell the blonde French bulldog hello for me please. Amazing staff, amazing food and coffee. I’m back home in Texas, but I will be back.“

“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. There’s even a couple of open windows where you can just stand and look out and feel the breeze while you’re waiting for your food. I wish that I lived closer so that I could go there every day.“

The whole experience was top-notch, and we can’t wait to come back!“
