“Everything was perfect, the service, food and cocktails! Look forward to returning.”
“Great place for a meal. The service is outstanding and the food is delicious. Some of the best pasta I've had in the US. Drinks are well balanced. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Wait staff is observant and prompt. Somehow this place works both for date night and family dinner (older children).”
“Everytime I come here, the food has been excellent. The kadai chicken is to die for and the chicken chettinad is a close second. I even travel from Arlington to get food here sometimes.”
“Persimmon allowed us to host our son and daughter's rehearsal dinner with an amazing menu and service. Everyone completely enjoyed their meals from a wonderful selection of appetizers, entre, and desserts. Personally the filet was top shelf. Thanks to the staff for an enjoyable evening.”
“I just had my 2nd absolutely DELICIOUS Indian dinner at Virraaj on Cordell. My husband noticed what he thought was a new restaurant across from the public parking last week so we went there for our Wednesday date nite. We went earlyish and only a couple other tables were taken when we arrived but by the time we left at 6:30 ish it was just about full so best to make reservations. Even with many diners, it was still easy to talk to each other and be heard. I started w/ the AAM Palak Chaat appetizer which I had first tasted at Rasika and have ordered every time I have seen it on a menu. Definitely rivaled Rasika's and the portion was big enough to share w/ my husband as an appetizer. My main was the Murgh Bahak/ Kadai Chicken. So tender, so tasty with onion and green and red bell peppers, delicious brown sauce w/ terrific spices plus a little spicy kick. I ate as much as I could and still had left overs for 2 lunches at home. My husband ordered a lamb dish he enjoyed and finished every morsel including the rice. I saw some reviewers would have liked more rice. We had plenty with our meals so maybe they are giving more w/ each dinner. The waiter was attentive, professional, courteous and nice. The restaurant itself was classy & beautifully appointed - you could tell someone put a great deal of thought and money into designing it. This week we had friends visit who live in VA, within walking distance to Clarendon. We always go there for Indian food because there are so many good Indian restaurants to choose from but they were excited to try Virraaj from our comments about how much we enjoyed it. Before ordering takeout, I called and spoke to Jenni 3 times because I wanted to order what I had ordered last week but couldn't remember the name. She could not have been kinder or more patient in helping me figure out that it was the Kadhai Chicken. It may not seem like it from this review but I am a picky eater - happy to pay any price (just about ) for good food but am too often disappointed in Bethesda. Virraag got the highest marks on everything important to me: service, food, and ambiance - all of us enjoyed our meals and noone was disappointed. We ordered pickup for 4 main dishes including my fav Murgh Bahak/Kadai Chicken, Butter Chicken, Lamb Tawa Masala and Hariyal Murgh Tikka, naan and roti. All went on 2 big lazy susans on the dining room table and we kept on spinning, tasting and enjoying. The wife of the other couple always orders the Butter Chicken and kept on saying how moist and delicious the chicken was tonight. We all tried and liked everything - - not one complaint. So glad that we have a great Indian restaurant to go to and take friends to and not worry that anyone is not going to enjoy -- it is that good!”

“Super chill hidden spot next to Chase Bank on Bethesda Ave. The space is clean and bright. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you like tacos and burritos you definitely should check out this place. They also have a great selection for different kinds of drinks. ( I super recommend checking out the drink menu- fruit drink)
If you are in the city of Bethesda you definitely should check out this place.”
“Dalia's Falafel catered my husband's big bash birthday party last weekend. It was the best catering experience we have ever had, and I want everyone within a 100 mile radius of downtown Bethesda to know about this fantastic establishment located at 7750 Old Georgetown Rd, Bethesda, 20814. Ben, Cody and Kevin provided more than generous portions of outstanding food as well as practical support and guidance on preparing, presenting, serving, and storing their delicious trays of salads, sauces and, of course, falafels. They made the entire experience simple and easy. The value of the service we received was far greater than the fee that we paid -- truly! Please don't hesitate to consider Dalia's Falfel, a unique party option, for your next celebration”

“Definitely worth the wait. Took me a while to time a bike ride over to Bethesda as they are only open through (late) lunchtime hours but I am grateful I was able to make it.
I sampled the combo fajitas with steak and chicken, accompanied by peppers and onions, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, and rice and beans. Everything was excellent, really good meat quality and well seasoned and grilled. Rice and beans were superb, authentic Mexican flavor.
I also squeezed in an Al Pastor taco and a Chorizo taco and both were very tasty. The Al Pastor was a lighter flavor, but really solid and nice they include the grilled pineapple as hoped. The chorizo is a chunkier variety, vs ground fine, and rich with flavor as well.
Staff is very polite and friendly, and will make modifications where they can.
Can't wait to return to try more items!”
“Great food! Fast and attentive service! Clean and pleasant environment!”
“Mother’s Day celebration with family was especially great because of the amazing atmosphere and awesome service at Barrel and Crow. It was our first time visiting this establishment and certainly will not be our last. Shout out to the owner and her staff.”

“Cubano's is a hidden gem with surrogate excellent comfort food. I went with a group of women, and we all really loved our meals. We started with delicious warm bread that had a subtle garlic flavor. Then, I had a slightly spicy avocado and heart of palm salad followed by chicken with a creamy mushroom sauce. The food was fresh, perfectly prepared, and served with a smile. Don't miss this Bethesda gem!”
“Connecticut style pizza beats NYC pizza everytime for me and having frank Pepe’s in the DMV, does just that. The meatball & ricotta pie is my go to and slaps everytime.
Update: I had to come back and give it the extra star it deserves. This pizza is just way too good to not talk about over and over again. This time I got the Doppio as well. Incredible. Absolutely incredible. Its simplicity at its finest. And the service?? Top tier. Our server Laura is one of the best servers we’ve ever had. Give her the raise she deserves! Thanks again!”
“Great Indian-Nepalese restaurant in Bethesda. Ordered the chicken Biryani along with Chili chicken and garlic naan. The Biryani was well prepared and fresh. The chili chicken had an abundance of flavor. It wasn't too spicy either. Our server was very kind and gracious. Will come back next time I'm between Baltimore and DC.Best food and best service”
“Olazzo catered a recent birthday party for us. Everything about the experience was first rate. Scott Crivella was extremely helpful in finagling the menu. The food was delivered right on time and was ready to serve. Our guests were delighted with the chicken Marsala, mango salmon, penne marinara, antipasto platter and bruschetta. Everything was delicious and the servings were very generous. We were extremely pleased.”
“Our family lived in Ukraine for 20+ years. We are in DC for Spring Break and found your restaurant online. So, we decided to come and try it out. AMAZING! Your food transported us back to "home"!”

Takeout Restaurants
“I got the royal palm, nitro cold brew and a cookie. The sandwich was pretty good, and there was a reasonable amount of salmon on it. The sides/drinks were good. My bagel honestly wasn't great which was surprising coming from a place that sells a lot of bagels. While I would probably go back and/or try some of the other sandwiches, I'm not sure what would bring me here over some of the other bagel places around Bethesda.
Parking: Difficult to find a spot, especially during prime time.”
“If you like cookies or any baked item, Levain Bakery is the place to go. Its a bit pricey but worth every penny as the treats are delicious and the cookies...oh the cookies, are thick and full of buttery flavor.
I purchased a blueberry muffin and a oatmeal raisin cookie, and couldn't stop eating the cookie; it was so yummy”
“I "cried" when my fave VEGAN or VEGETARIAN "GO-to" eat-in place closed all their locations around Boston. That was sadly & formerly GrainMaker .. (gone now) However DiG has grown on me as their deFACTO replacement for all FRESH VEGGIES and otherwise ALL FRESH MEAL VEGAN or VEGETERIAN eats and eat-in place! This is becoming my greatly reccomended "hidden vegan and veggie gem" in Boston with LOTS of locations. They have 3 locations thus far in Boston and 2 in Cambridge. I hav ONLY visited their downtown location thus far! Just as formerly with GrainMaker, DiG is as close to authentic home cooked! & genuinely HEALTHY! AND fresh meals that you can get to. Always fresh veggies, steamed & otherwise. --(they also serve a variety of proteins, as in variety of meats and fish, but i stay vegan. I have NEVER tried any of their meats or fish here.. ONLY their veggies and seasoned TOFU on occasion.. more oft than not, i do not even get their TOFU as a protein and opt to feast on JUST their steamed or boiled or baked veggies, bases. like rice and excellent mixed veggie salads sides!) Have been frequenting it for about 2 years since 2023 now, but held off on reviewing it until i was SURE of my experiences here. Decided to review it today bcs "it's time". I spoke to the very customer service oriented and responsibve supervisor here at this location, his name is DiJuan and was served by Adonis today and he was also very accommodating (after i explained i eat vegan) and on showing me my MANY fresh veggie choices, bases, proteins (including delish prepared Tofu) and PLENTY of heavenly veggie sides, all preped like you'd expect to find in a Thanksgiving grand day family meal. (AND they do this EVERY DAY!! ) This is HEALTHY eats and quite tasty and delish! See my posted pic w this review of my choice of eats today. In short, just today, i started with very little brown rice as my base and added 2 types of their fresh salad, Cannellini Beans w dill & greens along with their steamed or boiled Kale greens and added also a sweet potato that had been steamed & also steamed brocolli. I LUV eating fresh, healthy, TASTY and "homemade style" (as in NOT processed!!). I added their Garlic dressing to top it off. It came to something like 10+ bucks (B4 tax)! Unheard of !! for a BIG & FULLY portioned full veggie plate like this! BIG PORTION of a FULL PLATE! -- i declined, as usual to get any protein with my meal today, is why, STiLL i got a HUGE portioned plate! ( I normally HAVE2 order 2 - 3 separate orders and combine them, at HoneyGrow, anuther fave local "vegan" franchise in Boston, in order to get filled up if i'm only eating OMAD, as in One-meal-a-Day, in order to get full elsewhere usually!). They have a FAMILY (feeds4) option after 3pm every day that feeds 4-5 people (adults not kids) for like $43. QUITE A BARGAIN for something like this. AND it look like a Thankgiving day meal to top it off! --(formerly anuther non-vegan place "had this", now gone, called Boston Market. However they LOADED their side protions and even base meal with SO MUCH SALT, yuck! so that was ALL you could taste. THEY supposedly made home made, but found out NOT SO!!, theirs was loaded with processed sh*t, like their supposedly home-made mashed potatoes were the powder kind, loaded with pseudo milk and SALT, YUCK!!) NOT SO ! with this place.. DiG is 180 degrees fr tht.. This is truly GREAT tasting REAL and "home-prepped" veggies. They are winning me over from my other 2 "go-to's" "vegan-ish" franchises in Boston whcih have steadily been declining for various reasons, those being Bon-Me (their employees, over at Bon-Me for last 2-3 years it seems at ALL locations i have tried, simply do not undertsand nor speak english for the most part, their food WEN i can get it ordered the way i want it, is generally good, oft times its taken over 2 returned plates in order to get it prepared the way i orderd it.. v”
“Clearly the best ice cream in downtown Bethesda. Family-run, Argentinian, they have a deep sense of generosity and local love. There is a lot of work and research behind the scene. Most of their ingredients are sourced in a 100-mile radius. Pistachio flavour is to die for, same for mango. Menu is in constant evolution. Push the door. I dare you not to go back!”
“This place is awesome ! Good food, great staff, beautiful atmosphere. You can tell that they put time , love, and care into their dishes and cocktails. 10/10 would recommend!”
“The grilled chicken sandwich with guacamole comes with french fries. It was delicious.”

“This was the worst service ever here and I have not been back since the last bad service..I took a friend here from Philly and took forever to get waited on. appetizer was not fully cooked.Pizza came out.... my pasta never made it out. never heard a word from the manager ..how sad. male employees were constantly occupying the men's room...the waitress is the only one what was apologetic..my friend from Philly was not impressed and I left mad and disappointed. my third time with this location. “Still smiling after an unforgettable birthday dinner at Trattoria Sorrento in Bethesda! Celebrated with my family—and the 3 generations of family behind the scenes who crafted one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The veal ravioli bolognese was out of this world—homemade, heartfelt, and absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to the Trattoria Sorrento family for making it so special. If you’re looking for authentic Italian with real soul, this is the spot. Grateful for the food, the warmth, and the memories. 🇮🇹🍷🎉 #TrattoriaSorrento #BethesdaEats #ItalianFoodLove #BirthdayDinnerDoneRight #FamilyTradition #VealRavioliDreams”
“The lunch buffet was excellent! Great variety and very generous with the ingredients. Lovely service, they brought a basket of fresh (still warm and steaming) delicious naan without me even asking. My only disappointment is that I've lived in the area for over a year and this my first time here, I so wish I would have tried it sooner! I will definitely be back as soon as possible.”
“Mamma Lucia is a revelation! It’s casual, and relaxed environment, but still a nice spot for a glass of wine on a date. The food was fantastic, I ate way too much, but every time I said it’s my last bite, my mouth would start watering for more. Pizza was great! The deep fried risotto was delicious. But the Penne Vodka pasta was show stopping!
Then came dessert! I don’t even like tiramisu normally. And I could have eaten an entire pan of it!
The service was even better than the food!
Must go to spot!
Recently went a second time to buy a friend I have not seen in years dinner. The service was personable and engaging. Had an incredible evening. My friend who is a foodie praised the quality of everything. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pricing is great for the Bethesda area.
Wish I had taken photos of the food.”
“The reason I recommend this restaurant is because the environment, service and facilities of this restaurant are very good!”

“We walked into this charming Italian grocery slash pizza spot and were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and seemingly authentic. Beyond the pizza, they offer a great selection of frozen pasta, sauces, olives, and all sorts of Italian specialties. It really feels like a little slice of Italy.”
“The dazzling sun shines brightly with the reader's experience of piercing death when asking this message and we are all interested in being found with the reader's feeling of going for lunch by yourself is available from here on the product must be noted
Parking: I still remember the times he expressed his feelings to readers in the United States. Many netizens provided him with instant feelings.”
“I have been coming to Cornucopia for 10+ years. Unfortunately I only come when visiting family since it is several hours away from my home. Every time I come the selection of items is outstanding & almost every single thing is imported from Italy. The best thing about this place by far is the desserts & the sandwiches. Ebo makes the bread fresh daily & it is absolutely phenomenal. I usually end up bringing multiple sandwich’s back home with me due to how amazing they are. The veggies & meats are so fresh & so flavorful it is truly unlike any other sandwich shop. If you’re in the area, this is a must try. Truly a hidden gem of Bethesda.”
“Must try! The location is a challenge to find. You approach a gate community. A security guard will give you a parking pass. Parking in the first lot, and enter where it says “arcade.” Make a right then left. The hostess was friendly. I was able to order my pizza on a kiosk. The pizza was fresh and crispy. The crab pizza is a must try!”
“Great dogs and beer selection. Cheese fries were also delicious. Would recommend to try this spot if in Bethesda, MD.”

“Great servers! This was a great surprise to find this place so far south from Maine.”
“Spot - cozy. Wait staff - awesome and attentive. Manager - one of the best people I've met in my career. Kitchen - absolutely on point. This is hands down one of the last few old gems of downtown Bethesda and there aren't many left!”
“Overall pleasant, outstanding service, but rice in the set lumch was too dry and not very fresh - needs to use sushi rice.
Parking: Too busy, with many cars and could be hard to find a parking spot.”
“This is literally the best Japanese restaurant. They have the best shrimp shuma. The service and atmosphere is awesome too! Little pricey but totally worth every penny. Awesome place in DC if you're looking for some authentic Japanese food! 💖”
“We had such a great experience here. Our kids enjoyed playing with the pizza dough before their dinner came. Everything was delicious and the service was exceptional.”

“I wanted to like Spanish Diner since I'm a huge fan of Jaleo and of Jose Andres, but the food was so lacking in finesse and taste, even for a diner. Patatas bravas was drowning in tomato sauce (I could barely taste the potato or aoli) and the bacalao over eggplant and tomato sauce had little flavor. The ham and cheese was tasty, but nothing to say "Spain" about it...mediocre food accompanied by a hefty price tag will keep me from going back. I'm so sad that Jose Andres missed the mark on this one, unfortunately.”

“I agree with the positive comments on the food; had two taco platters yesterday. Take out didn't travel well, although tried to be careful, so next time I will get bowls or delivery. Owner, please provide a ramp; handicapped customers have difficulty on the steps, and door is extremely difficult to open. It is very heavy; also squeaks; lubricate hinges. Both employees seemed depressed; no smiles, barely answered questions.”

“Great New England style restaurant that opened in Bethesda and Nationals Park about two years ago. We came for the fried Ipswich whole belly clams, which are not easy to find in Maryland. They were amazing! They also have daily oyster offerings. Fish is regularly trucked and flown in. Seating is also light and roomy. Will visit again!
Dietary restrictions: They have a Gluten-Free menu with many choices”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Not Your Average Joe's Bethesda. The variety of menu choices and the restaurant's acknowledgment and attention to potential food allergies is appreciated. Our dinners were all delicious, the wait staff was attentive without being intrusive, and although there were large groups of families with young children at tables around us, we appreciated still being able to hear each other and converse without having to shout.”
