“Ruff & Ready continues to be one of my go‑to spots for quality crabs. The seasoning is on point, the crabs are consistently fresh, and the staff is always friendly and quick to help. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows in the taste and the overall experience.The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the random limitations on how many crabs you can purchase at once. I came in hoping to grab a half bushel of large crabs, but they were only selling them by the dozen, which made it harder to get the quantity I needed. Not a deal‑breaker, but definitely something to be aware of if you’re planning for a bigger gathering.
Overall, still a great spot with excellent food — just wish the purchasing options were a bit more flexible.“

“The best lobster roll I've had in a long time! Now I understand why people say the roll is as important as the lobster. 10/10 I also had a crab cake which was good. Surprisingly, the coated fries were great! As a French fry purist, I have never said that before. Cannot go wrong with the hush puppies. Finished my meal with coffee and cheesecake. The friendly staff made this a memorable visit. I can't wait to come back.“

“We had a lot of fun with the tasting menu. It was multiple course including appetizers and amuse bouche. Pictured below was the first plate of apps/amuse bouche. The turnip cake and pillowy bread was the star here. The little pastries with pate inside were so oversalted to the point they were inedible. I felt this was borderline true of a few of the dishes and the kitchen maybe should have been tasting as they cooked to prevent over-salting. Overall, I thought the food was creative and delicious. It was also artfully presented. Our server Mike was very attentive and helpful, so 5 stars for service. I give a four star overall because the food I think has room for improvement in execution and menu planning. For example; the palate cleanser was a granita and the dessert was a sorbet/ice cream. There could have been more contrast there between the courses. I had one drink I loved (their take on a Manhattan) and one I didn’t (the fish sauce in the passion fruit cocktail didn’t pair well for my personal taste). Overall I would recommend dining here!“

“My daughter and son-in-law treated me for my birthday and what a treat it was! From the birthday champagne treat to the special popcorn to the dessert and all meals in between—nothing disappointed. The food was delicious. Filet mignon prepared to perfection. Lamb chops, braised beef, shrimp—all delicious. The sides; I could go on. My husband also enjoyed his meal. Our particular teenaged granddaughter loved her chicken tenders. Even our 2 year old granddaughter enjoyed her kids meal. Definitely will return. This was our first time but it won’t be our last. And last but not least—our server, Micaiah, was the best. Her recommendations were on point. Top notch and so professional!“

“Dauphines is a good happy hour spot. The outdoor bar was mad busy but the vibe was terrific and you could enjoy music from the restaurant next door which was jamming. Marvin is one of the best bartenders in D.C. - kind, super attentive, made great suggestions. Despite the fact that our party was sitting in the courtyard area he bought our drinks over and took our food order. EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE. We ordered the devil eggs with crabmeat, shrimp cocktail, po boy sliders, raw oysters -- everything was tasty. A little pricey but worth it. Fun spot!“

The Happy Hour, which starts at 1PM (yes, you read that correctly) has insanely low prices, and the "pour" on both glasses of wine and cocktails are unmatched. Great ambience, clean as a whistle, a ton of regulars at the bar and a Touchtunes jukebox on the wall to bring your own soundtrack with you. What's not to LOVE about this place? 🍷🍹🥂🍻🦀“

My sister's train into DC was wildly delayed so we pushed back our reservation, but still unfortunately arrived late, with only 30 mins before closing. And boy did we hit the jackpot! The food was amazing first off. Second off, we had been wanting to do karaoke and there was a DJ! We sang at the table while we were eating and had such an amazing time. The atmosphere is phenomenal! “My friends and I went to Motorkat today after attending a play in Olney. Mikey was our server and was a stellar server. He was friendly yet professional. We came in with an appetite. We started with the smoked salmon and artichoke dip. The portion size was nice, and the chunky texture and flavor fit well with the Saltines. Next was the pistou salad, roasted sunchokes and the pork belly with creamy grits. The pistou salad was artfully plated and was soo good. The roasted sunchokes came with a miso ranch dressing and sesame seeds. It was so good and the mixed textures worked well. The pork belly sat on a bed of the creamiest grits I've ever had. The pork belly was tender, and the smoky tomatoes were a great paring and provided just enough acidity to cut through the richness of the dish. Still hungry, we ordered the flank cut short ribs and broccolini. The grilled broccoli were lighly tossed with chili garlic sauce, peanuts and basil. Divine. The flank cut ribs were Cumin scented and accented with a tart cucumber salad. They were fork tender and very flavorful. Our only disappointment was the scallion Pancake with pickled vegetables. We felt that overall then presentation was nice, but the Pancake was a bit thick and was a bit charred on the bottom. The pickled vegetables overpowered the pancake.. Out meal ended with mango sorbet. Overall, we loved the service Mikey provided, and all the staff was gracious. I highly recommend this spot for dinner. Thank you!“
