“A total of 12 hungry guys showed up after a long day of golf. We had traveled 5+ hours to the area for a nice long weekend of brotherhood. At the time this place was chosen to eat we didn't know how bad we actually needed it ! Food was amazing. Service amazing. Scott himself came out of the back to talk to all the patrons. Ended up giving us a mini tour of the smoke sanctuary. Beyond awesome. Bought some spicy sausage to bring home for the family. Worth your time, money and effort to go to this place. “Amazing BBQ joint in NKC. The atmosphere is perfectly BBQ, wooden tables, BBQ theme decor, and almost a picnic feel. The tables are set with their 3 sauces (regular, spicy, and their take on a Carolina style), plus smoked ketchup. We tried the two meat platter: sliced sausage, burnt ends, Buffalo slaw, burnt end chili, plus Texas toast; and the brisket sandwich, which is my go to on a first visit. Everything was amazing! The brisket was sliced thin, not too thin, and not fatty at all. The burnt end chili was so full of flavor, and the slaw/beans were great. Hawg Jaw is definitely going in our rotation.“

“Excellent food, friendly service (and fast), generous portions (always need a to-go box), nice homey atmosphere, always clean. My neighbor and I go there often as it's only about a mile from where we live. One of our favorite places in all of KC, and handier than any other.“

“Was in town visiting and I heard good things about Gates back in Chicago, so I had to try them out. Stoped in before heading to the Saints vs Chiefs game. Ordered the turkey on a bun w/fries and lemonade. The turkey was good, the fries were fresh out the grease, but they don’t season the fries, you have to salt them yourself. The total was like $20 so a bit pricey. The sauce has a sweet but spicy taste to it.“

“I had low expectations for this joint as it was recommended to me by a co-worker with pretty bad taste. I tried it anyways and boy was I surprised. This was the best pulled pork I've had and I've lived in KC long enough to try most all of the BBQ.

“It would be nice if worlds of fun could do something about the skunks coming into the park. I have a season pass and I normally see 1 or 2 every summer in the outside eating area. Unfortunately the park is next to wood / tree area. So I'm not sure they can do much about it.“

“I had the Ribs and One meat, sliced brisket, with the spicy Cole slaw side. The ribs were solid- lots of meat on each, tender, very good flavor without needing to be drowned in sauce. The brisket was good too. Sliced thin with a little sauce, had plenty of flavor. The Cole slaw was above average as well.
I was still a little hungry so I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. Fantastic. Worth going back just for that.
And the staff kept my sweet tea full the whole time. Well worth the trip, and I’ll certainly be back.“

“I went there this past weekend and the food was excellent. Of course I think it had a lot to do with how amazing our server Logan was! She was one of a kind and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced service as well as hers. Definitely consider changing it to Famous Logan’s!“

“My husband and I had the best experience at this restaurant. The food was good as always. During our meal my husband had to use the rest room. He has some dementia and can’t walk very well. Unfortunately we were sitting at a table which was on the complete opposite side of the restaurant from the rest room. The server noticed our dilemma and said she would guide him over to the restroom. She was back immediately. I said, “Oh, he won’t be able to find his way back to this table.” The server told me not to worry about it. The restaurant manager had taken him over and would wait and bring him back. That is undoubtedly the kindest thing that has ever happened to us in a restaurant. Thank you to the wonderful people at the RoanRidge Texas Roadhouse.“

“Everything was amazing! We had a beef Nooner and a chicken link all under $30. The service was incredible. The staff was so friendly and helped us pick what to order and checked on us throughout our meal. Their best kept secret is chicken wings. You must buy their sauces and rubs. This was an awesome experience!“

“It was Easter Sunday just before noon. Our group was 13 adults and 2 children. Our server Lane was AMAZING. So pleasant, friendly, was always checking on us making sure we had everything we needed. Not one glass ran empty and was on top of the refills. All our food was delicious. With our large group on an Easter Sunday we could not ask for someone as professional as Lane. Great job Lane!!!!“

“Bar Central is a hidden gem in KC! The atmosphere is chill and welcoming, and Andrew, our bartender, made the whole experience even better. He was super friendly, inviting, and really took the time to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. “I cannot express enough how amazed I am with the customer service. Yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday—-GO CHIEFS!) I placed an online order. My pick up time was at 5 (earliest I could get because I waited too long to place the order) I arrive early hoping it would be done earlier because I had people arriving at my house and I didn’t want to miss the game. When I arrived it was packed on people waiting. I assumed I was going to be there for awhile so asked if I could order a beer. They got me a beer and a chair. As I sat there for over an hour (it went past my pick up time) I saw all of the employees working very hard trying their best to fill the orders quickly. Some of the customers were being quite rude to the girls up front as the customers were upset their food wasn’t ready. The girls did an amazing job keeping everyone calm they would simply just smile and tell them they are working on it. I was so impressed how these girls handled themselves not one time did I hear them get snippy with a customer even tho I’m sure they wanted to. It was always a smile with a polite response. I was there almost til the end and a guy started yelling at the girls and still it was a smile and polite response. I got my food and made it for the game and the food was delicious as always!“
