“Excellent food the meat was exceptionally seasoned and very tender I would rank there barbecue top notch I was truly impressed with the amazing flaver. the cracked pepper to season the meat is amazing its so good. im not a fan of the barbecue sauce but to me if the meat is tender seasoned well ya don't even need sauce this team has skills. The prices are fair and the food was arranged in the to go container so neat they took pride they were professional,kind we will be repeat customers“

We had 4 entrees which ranged from ribs, shrimp, pulled pork and burnt ends and one child's hotdog. Everyone loved their entrees! “Amazing BBQ joint in NKC. The atmosphere is perfectly BBQ, wooden tables, BBQ theme decor, and almost a picnic feel. The tables are set with their 3 sauces (regular, spicy, and their take on a Carolina style), plus smoked ketchup. We tried the two meat platter: sliced sausage, burnt ends, Buffalo slaw, burnt end chili, plus Texas toast; and the brisket sandwich, which is my go to on a first visit. Everything was amazing! The brisket was sliced thin, not too thin, and not fatty at all. The burnt end chili was so full of flavor, and the slaw/beans were great. Hawg Jaw is definitely going in our rotation.“

“Had dinner with a friend tonight who had read somewhere that Jack Stack had pork chops for a short time so we both ordered them. They were thick and juicy and exquisitely seasoned. We shared a molten lava brownie ala mode that was to die for. To make our dinner even better, our server was friendly and had a great sense of humor responding to my friend's teasing.“

I had some green beans son had some of the huge famous beer battered potato wedges. Hot, fresh, tasty for $11.99. Both of us took decent amount home as well. “So ive never been here and im the hole in the wall kind of eater something that you basically stumble across and say"lets try it". I ordered the hamburger with fries and the smoked flavor was on point it was making my mouth water after the first bite. I ate all of it in a matter of minutes the flavor was like wham in your face but simple and super enjoyable. This place is small but man it was worth it. It was only a little over 12 bucks and thats with tax included. The fries were huge and seasoned and still hot 🔥. I also was very amazed at the womens customer service output. Leting me try a few sauces before i ordered which was very helpful. I bought myself one of her home maid sauces. It was that good. You must try this amazing little truck. I'm definitely coming back though. Thank you!!“

“I had low expectations for this joint as it was recommended to me by a co-worker with pretty bad taste. I tried it anyways and boy was I surprised. This was the best pulled pork I've had and I've lived in KC long enough to try most all of the BBQ.

“I cannot always eat the meats most of my family does due to dietary restrictions, but I will tell you. This was the HANDS DOWN most tender, melt in my mouth beef brisket that I have had in years. Even the chicken was moist! The server we had was personable and handled the whole knack half the restaurant well even when it got slammed. We were in to visit our son from Rochester NY, and I can honestly say that nothing we have had there since moving there in 2017, is even comparable.“

“Was in town visiting and I heard good things about Gates back in Chicago, so I had to try them out. Stoped in before heading to the Saints vs Chiefs game. Ordered the turkey on a bun w/fries and lemonade. The turkey was good, the fries were fresh out the grease, but they don’t season the fries, you have to salt them yourself. The total was like $20 so a bit pricey. The sauce has a sweet but spicy taste to it.“

“This is EASILY the best barbeque I've ever had. I don't think Gates can make bad food. Every single piece of meat in the box was immaculately seasoned, the pickled onions and pickles were DELICIOUS, abd the bread at the bottom sealed the deal for me. Since it was my first time, the staff helped me tremendously while ordering, and gave us extra sauce for the food. EVERY time I'm in KC, I will be eating here. I've already recommended Gates Bar-B-Q to every single person who goes near Kansas City, and I will not stop until Gates seasonings reach local grocery shelves out here on the east coast.“

“Better late than never! I came in town for the weekend and we ordered this to go. Our order that was placed but wasn't pushed through the Doordash app prior to them cleaning up. The manager and their staff took extra time to help us get what we ordered, boxed it up, and did it with a smile on their face the entire time. TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE! And the meats were cooked to perfection!

“I had a terrible experience trying to use Uber Eats to get food delivered. Totally not Arthur Bryant’s fault. With all of the issues I had on an order that was well over $100, an employee (maybe manager) named Ontario, was the absolute hero of the day! I cannot say enough about how he took care of us despite Uber’s issue with their system. Long story short, our order was for dinner the previous night, but he was able to honor the order the next day for lunch. He treated us like we were royalty. The rest of the staff were friendly and personable. They definitely have the “hole in the wall”/dive vibe, and I am here for it. It’s authentic. Regarding the food. If I’m being honest the brisket was mid, which was disappointing as I love brisket. Maybe an off day. But I digress. The ribs were by far the best ribs I have ever had in my life. Zero exaggeration. The burnt ends were so tender and full of flavor. The sliced sausage was unlike anything I’ve had before. The onion rings were onion rings, not much more to say about them. Definitely solid. The cheesy corn was divine. What a great addition to a great meal. If I were to go back next time I’m in KC, I’m getting Cheesy corn, ribs, and ends. They get all the stars I have to give and Ontario should get all of the raises and promotions available.“

Whenever I want BBQ, it is always Gates. You are always greeted right when you walk in the door with, "HI! May I help you?" The price is right for BBQ this good. Maddie, our wait person took our order and checked back on every corse. Friendly and well versed on all items of the menu. We had allergic issues and she made sure our dishes were free of any items in that area. Even the plates we were done with were taken away. The experience was pleasant, and peaceful.
