“Excellent food the meat was exceptionally seasoned and very tender I would rank there barbecue top notch I was truly impressed with the amazing flaver. the cracked pepper to season the meat is amazing its so good. im not a fan of the barbecue sauce but to me if the meat is tender seasoned well ya don't even need sauce this team has skills. The prices are fair and the food was arranged in the to go container so neat they took pride they were professional,kind we will be repeat customers“

“We loved the BBQ dinner at Jack Stacks Lees Summit. One of the people in our party had a birthday and they served her a delicious carrot cake that we all shared. The food was delicious! The server was excellent! We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and it was a little noisy. I would have preferred something on the side. Otherwise it was a great experience!!“

“Let me start with the restaurant was crazy busy because there was an Art Festival on the same street & it was soooo hot that day. Many people were trying to get indoors to some AC. The food was typical BBQ, very good but nothing exceptional. The service was wonderful. We sat at the bar for 1 drink before dinner, the bartender was friendly & eager to make us happy. We were a few minutes early for our reservation & the hostess made us feel like we were exactly on time. Our waiter was also friendly, informative about the menu & quite efficient. We shared the pork center cut ribs which were very tender without falling off the bone which would have been overcooked. Extra BBQ sauce came on the side which added just enough extra flavor. We also had the baked beans & coleslaw, both were good.“

“Amazing BBQ joint in NKC. The atmosphere is perfectly BBQ, wooden tables, BBQ theme decor, and almost a picnic feel. The tables are set with their 3 sauces (regular, spicy, and their take on a Carolina style), plus smoked ketchup. We tried the two meat platter: sliced sausage, burnt ends, Buffalo slaw, burnt end chili, plus Texas toast; and the brisket sandwich, which is my go to on a first visit. Everything was amazing! The brisket was sliced thin, not too thin, and not fatty at all. The burnt end chili was so full of flavor, and the slaw/beans were great. Hawg Jaw is definitely going in our rotation.“

“We had a fantastic visit to Chef Js today after years of following from afar on IG. I have done several bbq tours in Texas and can say this is as good as it gets when it comes to fresh from the pit craft bbq. The smell of burning wood filled the air as we exited the car. We were in line pretty early and talked to some regulars who love coming here. The meats were fantastic. Great bark on the brisket and pulled pork, tons of flavor and moisture. Tried the Greek sausage with feta cheese…yes please! Loved the bacon blue potato salad. Such a unique combination of flavors for a bbq side. Mac n cheese and Elote were both delicious as well. For those wanting to try fresh bbq in KC, skip the local legends and stop here for some of the best bbq you’ve ever had. Well done!!!“

“So ive never been here and im the hole in the wall kind of eater something that you basically stumble across and say"lets try it". I ordered the hamburger with fries and the smoked flavor was on point it was making my mouth water after the first bite. I ate all of it in a matter of minutes the flavor was like wham in your face but simple and super enjoyable. This place is small but man it was worth it. It was only a little over 12 bucks and thats with tax included. The fries were huge and seasoned and still hot 🔥. I also was very amazed at the womens customer service output. Leting me try a few sauces before i ordered which was very helpful. I bought myself one of her home maid sauces. It was that good. You must try this amazing little truck. I'm definitely coming back though. Thank you!!“

“I had low expectations for this joint as it was recommended to me by a co-worker with pretty bad taste. I tried it anyways and boy was I surprised. This was the best pulled pork I've had and I've lived in KC long enough to try most all of the BBQ.

“I cannot always eat the meats most of my family does due to dietary restrictions, but I will tell you. This was the HANDS DOWN most tender, melt in my mouth beef brisket that I have had in years. Even the chicken was moist! The server we had was personable and handled the whole knack half the restaurant well even when it got slammed. We were in to visit our son from Rochester NY, and I can honestly say that nothing we have had there since moving there in 2017, is even comparable.“

Ordered the turkey on a bun w/fries and lemonade. The turkey was good, the fries were fresh out the grease, but they don’t season the fries, you have to salt them yourself. The total was like $20 so a bit pricey. The sauce has a sweet but spicy taste to it.“

“This is EASILY the best barbeque I've ever had. I don't think Gates can make bad food. Every single piece of meat in the box was immaculately seasoned, the pickled onions and pickles were DELICIOUS, abd the bread at the bottom sealed the deal for me. Since it was my first time, the staff helped me tremendously while ordering, and gave us extra sauce for the food. EVERY time I'm in KC, I will be eating here. I've already recommended Gates Bar-B-Q to every single person who goes near Kansas City, and I will not stop until Gates seasonings reach local grocery shelves out here on the east coast.“

“Better late than never! I came in town for the weekend and we ordered this to go. Our order that was placed but wasn't pushed through the Doordash app prior to them cleaning up. The manager and their staff took extra time to help us get what we ordered, boxed it up, and did it with a smile on their face the entire time. TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE! And the meats were cooked to perfection!

“Fresh delicious food , the appetizers were amazing 👏 Baba Ganouj, Hummus , Lentil Soup with summak, and Falafel piping hot and crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The mixed grill took a while (so order early) but I know nothing was reheated. Everything cooked there and then. The chicken was juicy , flavorful snd succulent . The lamb chops finger the licking good. the beef sheesh kebab soft and juicy and not dry so the fat meat content was on spot. The only negative perhaps was the sheesh kebab was a bit salty 🧂 for my palate.“

“I had a terrible experience trying to use Uber Eats to get food delivered. Totally not Arthur Bryant’s fault. With all of the issues I had on an order that was well over $100, an employee (maybe manager) named Ontario, was the absolute hero of the day! I cannot say enough about how he took care of us despite Uber’s issue with their system. Long story short, our order was for dinner the previous night, but he was able to honor the order the next day for lunch. He treated us like we were royalty. The rest of the staff were friendly and personable. They definitely have the “hole in the wall”/dive vibe, and I am here for it. It’s authentic. Regarding the food. If I’m being honest the brisket was mid, which was disappointing as I love brisket. Maybe an off day. But I digress. The ribs were by far the best ribs I have ever had in my life. Zero exaggeration. The burnt ends were so tender and full of flavor. The sliced sausage was unlike anything I’ve had before. The onion rings were onion rings, not much more to say about them. Definitely solid. The cheesy corn was divine. What a great addition to a great meal. If I were to go back next time I’m in KC, I’m getting Cheesy corn, ribs, and ends. They get all the stars I have to give and Ontario should get all of the raises and promotions available.“
