“Ended up here accidentally on a layover: Hands down, the best ramen I’ve ever had (springy, slurpy perfection), amazing cocktails (if you like gin the Japanese 75 is a must try!), and whatever the whipped cream, creme brûlée’d banana dessert was tasted like heaven. I even ordered another tonkotsu ramen to go (all the way to Florida) to bring back to my fiancé. They separated all of it, packaged it so it wouldn’t leak, and wrote directions on specific timing for heating up each item! Very impressive service. I’ll be back again!“

“You cannot beat their happy hour! Each piece of sushi is around double the size of your typical NYC piece. I also got the sushi tacos and those were fun and different from what I typically get. I also got a bottle of the cold sake. I will definitely be coming back here soon!“

“I found this restaurant early this year when I got off work one day, and I come to eat here EVERY week since then. No kidding, I love this place. The food is very authentic, the music here is always a happy surprise to my ear, price is very reasonable, and mostly importantly - I LOVE the owners here! I speaks a little bit of Korean so they were kinda shocked the first time I say hi to them in Korean. But even if you don't speak any of their language, they are always so freaking nice and kind!!! They have a lot of returning customers, they chat with everyone that comes in and treating others like their friends and family. They learned my name the second time I came, and now I have been coming here for about 3 month straight and they are seeing me as their little sister. I will keep visiting this place and bring my friends here too. I hope they are doing well and their business is growing. Much love,

“The food was generally salty. The first time I went, I ordered the eel rice bowl, but it was so salty that I thought I'd ruined my appetite after enjoying the other appetizers. The staff checked with me and said it was just salty that day. I got free ice cream instead. So today, I went for the hand rolls for the second time, and even the appetizers were a little salty. The hand rolls were delicious. The other dishes were fine, but they were a little salty. It wasn't just me; everyone I went with said the same thing.“

“This was our second visit to Noz Market. They never fail to impress and satisfy. The cuts of fish are large and wrap all the way around the rice. The nigiri are seasoned perfectly, skillfully and with precision. The chefs here truly practice the art of sushi. The two omakase options are reasonably priced, and you can add extra pieces at the end of the experience. My Japanese fiancée emphatically approves, which should tell you what you need to know about this restaurant. Not too difficult to make a reservation a few weeks ahead of time, but definitely make one in advance. We will most certainly return.“

“Service was very nice, prepared alternative for shellfish allergy. The chef was very cute, he seemed to really enjoy his work, and it was contagious. Food was delicious, one of my alternatives was a wagyu hand roll which was delicious. Presentation was amazing, the gold sprayed nigiri was a spectacular showing. “Everything inside the bar from food to atmosphere was absolutely perfect! I expected this place to focus mainly on vibes and drinks but the food was actually one of the best I ever had. I personally love jazz and the two groups I saw perform were incredible! All the musicians were super into their performance and sounded great. Only thing I would say is to not be surprised by a 1-2hr wait in line (it was totally worth it for me though—I forgot about the wait once I was inside)“

The chicken teriyaki box is a great deal served fresh with fantastic flavor and came with so many delicious sides. I also tried a couple of sushi rolls and seems like you can't go wrong with any options. I haven't had fresh cuts of fish like that anywhere else! Definitely recommend!“

We stumbled upon this cozy spot near our hotel and had an early dinner. The place was quiet at first, perfect for conversation, but it filled up quickly by the time we left.

Service was prompt and friendly. I enjoyed their Platinum Sake, while my boyfriend tried the Japanese IPA—both excellent choices.

For starters, we had pork gyoza, edamame, and uni croquette. Each dish was comforting and satisfying. For mains, I went with the veggie curry rice from their specials—light, flavorful, and perfectly spicy. My boyfriend had udon soup with shrimp and egg, adding a bit of chili oil for an extra kick.

This was one of the best meals we’ve had in NYC, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for such high-quality food. It brought back fond memories of Japan.“

I got the Brooklyn set which came with a delectable pork katsu, two fried chicken karage pieces, potato salad, and a surprisingly hearty soup too. “My local nabe sushi joint. Superb value for the quality. If you are looking for the classic basics and want excellent fish at very very reasonable prices, especially lunch, this is the one. I only have two issues with this restaurant. 1) if you are dining in, the place has a weird odor. Not fishy, but just sort of unventilated and close. Shame as the decor is very cute, and the booths are lovely. So I do takeout. 2) Perhaps because of the takeout volume, the door is very crowded with delivery bike people, especially at lunch. There has to be a better way to manage that. the tiny entryway cannot support the delivery traffic waiting to pickup. That said, by all means go. it is delicious“

“Amazing experience at Sushi Yasuda! My chef Moriyama from Kagoshima prefecture was perfect, a typical Kyushu man with a great personality and spectacular at serving up delicious sushi. My server Tsuzumi from Okinawa prefecure was also very attentive and did a fantastic job making sure we had everything that we needed. The whole team was amazing, I’ve eaten sushi in every corner of the world, including Japan, and I can safely say that Sushi Yasuda is up there with the best! Thank you again.“

“Cute lil spot in Long Island City that opened approx. a year ago serving up authentic Japanese fare. Great for impromptu lunch or to catch up with friends. They do open for dinner and drinks but I haven’t been yet.

I came for lunch with two of my friends. We tried the Omurice, Vegan Ramen and Matcha Soufflé Pancake. I omitted the bacon from my rice. The rice was a bit dry or overcooked and the egg wasn’t as eggy/runny as expected. We shared the matcha pancake, it was delicious enough to disappear in under 5 minutes. Our drinks were delicious as well. Mine was a bit too sweet for my taste so I watered it down.

Only slightly minor quibble was everything seemed a bit rushed and a little less peaceful than other places I've been to, but fair enough at that price. I was also a bit surprised at the rudeness of a customer talking on her phone when the staff were trying to engage her. That's not the restaurant's fault but maybe worth having a sign about using phones less and being in the moment more?!“

“So, let's start with the ramen, I ordered the duck based one. The flavor was just not there and it was under seasoned. Had to add soy sauce because I found a hair in the salt container . I also ordered the beef skewers . Very low quality meat very chewy but I would expect it for 8usd for 2 skewers. The shitske was an extra 3.5 to add on my ramen . With green tea my meal was 32 USD. I expect a lot more for that price.“

The shumai and spicy shrimp were both packed with flavor and arrived hot, which I really appreciated. The crispy rice had great flavor as well, though it was a little too hard for my taste. Portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable given the quality and size. Overall, a fantastic spot that I'll definitely be coming back to.“
