“Awesome sushi spot tucked away. Gives a lasting impression. Inside appears it’d
make for a very pleasant visit. No matter the time of day. Does not disappoint. Decent prices. You won’t be spending $20+ minimum for a bite of decent food. It’s family owned. I’m almost afraid if they get more busy. They’ll start knowing their worth . Ha ha. Almost. I’ve ordered for pick up about 4 maybe 5 times by now. Local gem.“

“Food was good. It reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong in the 2010's.
You'll need patience for the food since it's just a few people. But the food is worth the wait. I waited outside and the cashier just waved me in when my order was ready. 🙂“

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!“

“A bougier twist on a lot of traditional Chinese dishes. The highlight of the meal was the braised pork belly, so melt in your mouth tender. Also don't miss the cucumber salad appetizer, I thought the flavors were unique and refreshing.“

This place has A.C. amazing after walking around all day sightseeing.
Food was delicious especially the Szechuan spicy chicken, fyi doesn't come in a sauce. Scallion pancake was very tasty, as was the chicken soup dumplings. Definitely recommend this place.“

“Truly so good it hurts. I got the Little Pot Rice Noodle and I cried gladly the whole time I ate it. My (even less spice-tolerant) friend went crazy and ordered Schuan Style Spicy Chicken w. Peanut and she loved it. I got her some rice and sweet tea to save her between bites. The cucumber salad is also on the sweet side and a wonderful palate rescue between bites. “I just can’t stop going back for more!” High praise indeed. We’ll be back soon!“

“No frills steamed bun & dumpling place, apparently a huge wholesale provider for stores in the area! <$10 to feed two people. In the basement of the mall (East Broadway Mall, under the highway), kinda hard to find, but it’s a vibe when you get there!
The ladies work are so nice. Service is super fast. Cash only.
The buns had a taste that lingered in my mouth all day, but they were good at first bite. I preferred the dumplings (order #2).“

“This is not ordinary Chinese-restaurant food; the dishes are sophisticated and delicious. Great combinations, spices, vegetables. Okra crunchy outside, soft inside. Eggplant hot and peppery, cold chicken chopped with bones in. Never had Szechuan like this. We try to go as often as we can.“

“The broth is clear and has a simple yet delicate flavor. The fresh ingredients are used, and the savoriness is like a Zen experience. The beef tripe is cooked in a way that preserves its true flavor, unlike the spice-rich ones you usually find at a dim sum place, which is very pleasant.“

“I came here for a friend's birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and I love the cozy but very Chinese decor. Our waitress was so nice, easy to talk to, and fun. The service was really quick.
We ordered hot and sour soup, peking pork, string beans, honey walnut shrimp, beef chow fun, short ribs, beef stew and radish casserole, and salted fish and eggplant casserole. Everything was delicious. My favorites were their peking pork, string bean, and casserole dishes. The honey walnut shrimp was good but the portions were okay for a group of 9. The beef chow fun was a great portion but I wish there was more flavor. Loved the short rib. They gave us complimentary watermelon at the end, as well as birthday flan for my friends and I. Had a great time and I think this is the perfect spot for some casual Chinese food with a big group of people (We got 10 dishes and the total ended up being only $240, post-tax for a group of 9! We all left STUFFED).“

“These five skewers: arguably the best thing I've eaten in this city for under $15. The highlight are the mushroom / scallops wrapped in bacon, grilled over coals... For $2.50?! Pinch me, I'm dreaming
It's a grungy corner after dark, but right above the Grant St subway station.“

“Wo Hop is a true NYC classic and absolutely worth the visit. The beef chow fun is amazing, but don’t sleep on the vegetable dishes — the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and the green beans with black bean sauce are outstanding. The egg rolls are just right, and the pork fried rice is excellent. Add in the old-school staff who keep things moving with charm, and you’ve got one of the best Chinatown dining experiences around. A legendary spot that always delivers!“

“Wow that was delicious. The noodle was so yummy. And the dumpling with the sour sauce was actually yummy! I don’t even like sour stuff that much so this was just enough. I wish we had this in Toronto. Can’t find anything that matches this“

“I went to a lot of restaurants in New York that were much fancier than this cart but this was my favorite food of the day. The cheong fun was gooey and had qq and a decent amount of meat. For $5 for the large, it was such a deal and fed three of us as a snack. I would go back in a heartbeat and order more. Wish we had this in Chinatown in Houston.“

“Me and my partner came here for dinner before they closed, the service was the fastest i think I’ve ever experienced, waiter and waitress were really nice. California roll was absolutely to die for. The orange chicken was the best I’ve had and fried rice was fantastic. 10/10 experience I recommend. It is on the expensive side but I still think it’s worth it. If you have the money to go, don’t waste your time thinking about it.“

“Great prices for delicious food. I see why Guy Fieri has come here three times. The noodles are perfectly imperfect and the flavors are spot on. The only questionable thing about the place is that the duck is served bone-in which brought down my wife's enjoyment of her dish“

“Do recommend! Happy about this new addition to the Newport neighborhood. The interior is gorgeous with beautiful decorations. It is clean and spacious. We were excited to check it out and were not let down!! Fantastic experience through and through. Service staff was friendly and polite, attentive (frequent water refills and clearing of table was great). Food arrived fast and in proper order - first appetizers, then main course. Ordering via app helps accelerate the process, and what it also does: it gives the customer the option to decide when to aak for the check. Mind = blown! Awesome feature because you can always go back to order more at any time. Our dinner XP was extremely positive.
Recommendations: cold eggplant w special sauce appetizer (see photo) made my taste buds dance, Zha Jiang Noodles an indulgence. The Pork Pancake was crispy and good as well.“

“I have frequented PFchangs for many may years at this same location. I Mia say the last two times the food has not been the same. Perhaps the chef changed or style of food preparation changed. Egg drop soup taste beefy instead of eggy. Chicken lettuce wrap had a distinctive taste as well. All in all food is too salty. Must say the staff is amazing!!! Had drinks at bar and bartender was great, both in making drinks as well as personable. The waitress for dining was wonderful too. It was a Wednesday so the restaurant was very quiet and only 3 other tables occupied.“

“Xi’an Famous Foods is my go-to spot whenever I crave something spicy, bold, and deeply satisfying. Their flagship location in Chinatown always delivers. The first thing I ordered was their hand-ripped noodles with spicy lamb – and wow, it did not disappoint. The noodles are chewy and perfectly textured, clearly made in-house. The lamb is fragrant with cumin and chili oil, and the spice level is high but well-balanced. It’s not the kind of heat that overwhelms – it builds and lingers in the best way. I also tried the spicy cumin burger, which was messy but delicious. What I appreciate most is the consistency – I’ve been to a few of their locations and the quality never slips. The interior is functional, not fancy, but that’s fine by me. You’re here for the food, not the ambiance. Prices are very reasonable for the amount and flavor you get, and service is quick and efficient. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to once you discover it. Whether you’re a noodle fanatic or just love bold Chinese flavors, Xi’an Famous Foods is a must-try.“

“No frills, hole in the wall cheap dumplings - the great equalizer. Tourists and homeless people both enjoying it.
I got the steamed dumplings and while they were flavorful, they were way too dough-y. Judging by pictures, the fried ones look better. The value:portion ratio is really what drives up the review score.“

“One of my absolute favorite meals this year. Service, vibe and food were all 10/10. Standouts for us were the spare ribs, wedge salad, seafood tower (the razor clams and smoked fish dip especially) and the prawns and grits. Great wine list as well. Highly recommend for a date night or fun friend/family dinner.“

“I went here with my sons. The staff was prompt and very friendly. We got some dumplings as an appetizer which were delicious. My two picky eaters who are very picky about hibachi rice ate every last grain. In fact my son ate all of his then proceeded to eat most of mine! It really was quite flavorful.“

“One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been too. I initially got a few things to try. My entire family loves it so much that we went back and ordered all the other stuff!
Great for vegetarians! We loved the plant based meats - noodles and dumplings. We’ll definitely be back. Also the view and seating was a lot of fun!“

“My fiancé and I have been looking for a Chinese takeout spot since the food quality of our usual spot went downhill. This place is good. He got the General Tso’s and I got the chicken wings with pork fried rice. Really good. No complaints. The staff were nice. They only take cash.“
