“I came from California for a visit with my brother and just before 11:00 p.m. we decided we wanted Chinese food. we were pleasantly surprised when we got back to the hotel room and the food was amazing authentic Chinese was simply Delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone, also if you're old school from New York you would understand what I'm talking about. I just ordered it again shrimp fried rice LOL.“
“this is a fast place to get good tasting Chinese food. They have a couple of tables. I ate here and the lady was very nice and cleaned up after me . It’s not a sit down place you have to order at the counter and then if you want to sit down or take it to go, you can do that. The food was very good. I was very impressed. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is very delicious.“

“Every time I eat here, it takes me back to when I was growing up. They started as a rice roll cart on Grand Street, and they've perfectly preserved that authentic street-cart taste.
The steamed rice rolls with curry fish balls are soft, chewy, and perfectly sauced with hot sauce and extra peanut sauce. Grab an iced Hong Kong milk tea to go with it.
Highly recommend for a true taste of old-school Chinatown!“

“Spicy Village was a wonderful place to have a Christmas meal! Actually, I'd like to rename it "Spicy Cozy Village" if a spicy environment can also be cozy! To start with, they were very gracious by accepting a reservation for 8 people at 6:00. Then they came outside and took our order even before we sat down and so the food was nearly ready by the time we had taken our coats off! The festivities kicked off with a plate of crispy peanuts, which ended up being the chosen appetizer, main course, and dessert for the little guy in our party. We then progressed to delicious dumplings, sesame chicken, spicy lamb huimei, and other delectable specialties! What was so amazing about the experience is that despite packing lots of people into a relatively small square foot area, it did not feel claustrophobic at all; rather it was comfortable and cozy, like sitting at a big table for a family meal at your house (even if it was take-out!!). Overall, Spicy Village was a terrific place for Christmas dinner - and I'm strongly considering coming back here for the 8 days of Hanukkah too!“

“Great place to stop by for a bite to eat. Steamed buns are $4 for 8, $3 for 8 steamed dumplings. Can't beat these prices, and they make them all themselves. The food is always great. They have a variety of other soups and noodles as well. Two people can have an entire meal here for $15 easily. This place is usually frequented by the local Chinese residents. If you want a taste of what Chinese people in Chinatown are eating, check this place out.
UPDATE: note that the menu used to be huge, after COVID the menu was reduced significantly and now they tend to only stock their most popular items which are all still amazing“

“Stopped by for dinner while in the NYU area and it feels like the kind of place that just fits the neighborhood.
Very casual setup, nothing fancy. A lot of students coming through, people eating solo or in small groups — pretty easy spot to drop into without thinking too much.
Food is more on the home-style side. Not overly heavy or overly seasoned, which actually makes it easier to come back to. Portions are decent, and prices are reasonable for this part of the city.
It’s not really a “destination” restaurant, but more of a reliable, everyday kind of place. If you’re around NYU, I can see this becoming part of a regular rotation.“

“Insane drinks made by Bonnie (the Jasmine Fall and the Cherry Old Fashioned) the flavors were unlike anything else we’ve ever had. Will be dreaming about the Jasmine Fall. Same with the food - absolutely amazing dumplings. Also - drinks were buy one get one free because it was late night. Bonnie is the best - she was so helpful and kind when it came to helping us narrow down what we wanted!“

“We came here to try the iconic pineapple pork bun! It’s pretty good but my partner definitely enjoyed it more than I did. I wish I was in NYC longer to try out everything else on their menu. Everything looked good and reasonably priced.“

“We came for dinner on a Sunday after a show, the menu was a 7-course tasting menu with an optional 8th course and an optional wine pairing. We opted for the 8th course and my wife did the wine pairing, I got the Sour Plum cocktail which was fantastic. The price was on the low end for a Michelin starred restaurant, making this a comparatively more accessible option for fine dining. The staff was very bubbly and constantly executing elevated soft touches to make for a memorable experience. The dishes had such a vast array of flavors, my favorite was the plum duck but it’s tough to choose from so many strong contenders. There wasn’t a single “miss”. The wine pairing was a perfect complement to the courses, we’d highly recommend opting for it since that took this to the next level. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend Yingtao!

“This if for 2 visits. First one was during the week for lunch. The lunch special fish came with cucumbers andspring rolls, the fish was crispy and full of flavor absolutely a must get. The truffle shumai was huge juicy and lots of truffle, the fried rice was delicious and the drinks tasty. Service is 10 out of 10 the lady who works there is so friendly and sweet she constantly checked up on us and talked with everyone at the table that it was so great we made a reservation for mothers day. Mothers day visit was fantastic she was there again to serve us and same fantastic service. Everything we ordered was hot flavorful fresh and worth it. We also got tea for the table which was refilled for us and the date dessert which was a nice ending to a wonderful mean. Definitely check it out they do specials during the week. We were told check the ig page to see them last month Thursday they did all you can drink.“

“Lychee ice was delicious and quite sweet, with a few real lychees in it. The braised lobster with scallions was a bit too salty. The osmanthus vermicelli and egg soup actually had a hint of osmanthus fragrance. The quality of their dishes is relatively consistent.“

“Dan Dan noodles and soup dumplings were very good! Beef cumin dish was good but spicy and the numbing oil stays true to its name! Just ask for less spice if you’re sensitive. I love spice but that cumin dish was a lot. Overall everything was very good.“

“Always wanted to try this place.
Let’s start with the pros. Definitely worth the hype. Make sure to get the egg burrata dip with extra fried dough. I would skip the truffle ravioli. It sounded interesting, but was just okay. We also got the peppercorn fish stew which is always staple. Overall, foodwise, I appreciated the play on italian Szechuan food, but I would definitely research a bit beforehand for what to order.
Okay, now the cons. I will say, I thought they were known for their cocktails, but they were just okay so I think you can skip these unless you want to pair.
My one other complaint was that this was our anniversary dinner and we did mention it in our resy reservation, so we were wondering if they would prepare a little something, but they didn’t even congratulate us. Pretty sure this was an oversight, but this was my nitpick and for these reasons I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5.
Otherwise, highly recommend coming here with a big group to try multiple dishes!“

“Ottimo ristorante di Ramen (giapponese e non quello "tarocco" o fatto con quello istantaneo del supermercato) che offre anche una fantastica selezione di ravioli. Prezzi tutto sommato accettabili per la media della città e acqua gratuita. Posto piccolo, accogliente, staff cordiale e velocissimo. Porzioni corpose quindi ordinate con cautela o non riuscirete a finire tutto.“

“This was my first food stop in Chinatown, and hands down, it was the best hole-in-the-wall spot of my trip!
If you’re craving comforting, delicious Asian food, this place absolutely hits the spot. The dumpling prices blew my mind—they’re incredibly affordable, especially coming from the DMV where I usually pay an arm and a leg.
10/10, highly recommend!“

“I’ve been on a malatang phase and this is one of the better ones I’ve had. You build your own bowl and it actually feels like the flavors come through, not everything blending into one spicy mess.
The broth is rich but still balanced. It has depth without feeling greasy, and you can actually taste what you picked instead of it getting lost.
Ingredients feel fresh and there’s a good variety. Nothing looks tired or sitting there all day.
Also their chili oil is really good, which makes a big difference. It brings everything together without overpowering it.
It’s a bit chaotic grabbing everything but that’s part of it. Not a place to sit for long, just build your bowl, eat, and go. But it’s consistently solid and I keep coming back.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“Hi grand street skewer cart ! I’m a huge fan of your food. I’m a web designer and I actually put together a draft website concept for your shop to show how you can showcase your menu and take catering orders more easily.
I’d love to send you a quick video tour of what I built, or we can jump on a brief meeting if you’re interested! If you like the design, you can officially purchase it for your business. No pressure at all—just wanted to show you what’s possible!“

“Dao Dim Sum on Madison has officially stolen my heart — and my appetite — with one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Every single dish was beyond phenomenal. If you’re looking for a place that consistently delivers flavor, freshness, and pure culinary joy, this is *the* spot.
I indulged in a lineup of dishes, and not one missed the mark:
**• Salt & Pepper Lobster** — Perfection. Crispy, tender, seasoned flawlessly. Every bite felt like fireworks.
**• Salt & Pepper Calamari** — Light, crunchy, and unbelievably addictive. I could eat this every day.
**• Cucumber Salad** — Refreshing, crisp, and the ideal balance to all the rich flavors.
**• Scallion & Ginger Lobster** — Aromatic, buttery, and absolutely luxurious. A standout dish that melts in your mouth.
**• Fried Noodles with Shrimp Soup** — Comforting, flavorful, and the kind of dish you crave long after you leave.
**• Salt & Pepper Shrimp** — Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked with so much skill it should be illegal.
Every plate was a hit. The flavors were bold, fresh, and beautifully prepared. The portions were generous, the presentation was gorgeous, and the overall quality was top-tier.
Dao Dim Sum on Madison isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. If you want phenomenal food that leaves you smiling, satisfied, and planning your next visit before you even walk out the door, this is your place.
I can’t recommend it enough. Absolutely amazing from start to finish!
Update: 6/25/26 I've told myself I must try Evelyn on the menu. Today I had the Salt and pepper lamb chops and the pineapple ribs. As always the food was superb. I can't get enough of this place.“

“Wow, this was SUCH a great spot. This NYC chain is legendary for a reason.
Beware, if you don’t like spicy food, this isn’t for you. Even on the “less spice” option, we were definitely feeling the heat. The noodles in the Cumin Lamb Noodles were the star of the show - so tender and full of flavor.
The interior is simple and a little small, so I imagine during a lunch rush it could get crowded, but we were there at an off time so there was plenty of room.“

“Great prices for delicious food. I see why Guy Fieri has come here three times. The noodles are perfectly imperfect and the flavors are spot on. The only questionable thing about the place is that the duck is served bone-in which brought down my wife's enjoyment of her dish“

“The food was really good. I got fried rice and they must have put like three eggs in it!!! They are not stingy I know that.
A side of broccoli and carrots perfectly steamed!!
Crispy veggie dumplings don’t really deliver well but they were still good.
Only thing I would change is I wish they had more steamed food on their menu, it’s mostly fried. But it was all very good. And I wish they had assorted teas not just soda.“
