“We were in town from Wisconsin to see Metallica. The day after the concert , we were looking for something good to eat and found Dumpling Dojo. Looking thru the menu , we knew we had to try. AMAZING!! We had one of the best meals we have had in a long time and my husband and I like to eat. We go to a lot of high ends places, but as I said , this place was extraordinary. The staff very friendly and helpful. We had the fried pork belly , tangerine beef , shrimp dumplings, fried shrimp and ramen noodle. And for desert , out of the world raspberry cheese cake wontons with whipped cream and fruit garnish. Nothing was too spicy but so flavorful. Again , you really need to try this place. Thank You !!“

Personally for me there were too many options with deep fried crab/shrimp inside rolls.

“This is an absolute local experience. It has 3 bar seats and a loud friendly funny guy taking orders. I came here for the congee which was basic but so flavorful and homey. I got the noodles which they are known for and they were outstanding! Chewy, umami and not the prettiest dish. I’ll sacrifice looks for flavor any day! I works say you must be a Sami brave eager to try it but it’s a place I’ll definitely crave in the future!“

The outer layer of the pineapple bun is super buttery and crispy and the the bun itself is soft and fluffy. The pork inside is tender and was sweeter than I expected but it pairs so well with the little saltiness on the pineapple bun crust.

“Truly so good it hurts. I got the Little Pot Rice Noodle and I cried gladly the whole time I ate it. My (even less spice-tolerant) friend went crazy and ordered Schuan Style Spicy Chicken w. Peanut and she loved it. I got her some rice and sweet tea to save her between bites. The cucumber salad is also on the sweet side and a wonderful palate rescue between bites. “I just can’t stop going back for more!” High praise indeed. We’ll be back soon!“

“Tangy Noodle is not the typical Chinese restaurant that New Yorkers are used to ordering from. We are accustomed to the traditional looking and tasting fast food menus that we grew up with. Just one look at their menu with the variety of photos of the dishes, makes your mouth water with anticipation. “it was a rainy, dark evening in new york, so ramen was definitely the vibe this day. i stumbled upon marufuku ramen, and let me tell you it did not disappoint. the ramen is really great. very flavorful broth, i literally almost finished that before the actual noodles and protein. i highly recommend getting the tori paitan ramen! it’s nice to have a break from tonkotsu ramen sometimes and the rich chicken flavor is amazing. highly recommend getting a beer or cocktail for your ramen too. also the karaage was great too! come check it out!“

“Just saw an amazing Broadway show and came here not expecting anything and was blown away... all the sushi - ikura, uni, toro was so fresh and delicious. You have to try their pork & chive dumplings that the chef finishes off with this yellow, mild cheese sauce - its the best!“

“Sao mai is probably my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in NYC. The place is very cosy and  no-frills, the food is always so inviting and delicious, and price point is so good (especially in the city nowadays haha).

My favourite dish here is the bun bo hue. The broth is sooo fragrant -- just the perfect mix of spicy and sour (the lemongrass and shrimp paste flavours both taste so vivid without being too dominant). The noodles are cooked to a nice texture (and come in a large portion size), and the beef slices are so tender and flavourful. So delicious ... I'm getting hungry just writing this haha.

I also really like the bun thit nuong for one of the non-soup noodle dishes. The mix of lettuce and carrots is always so crispy and fresh, and the veggies complement the perfectly-grilled pork strips so well. Adding a bit of fish sauces adds a nice depth of flavour when mixed into the dry rice noodles, and every bite, combining a bit of meat, carbs, and veggies, is wonderfully balanced.

The pho dishes are also fantastic. Pho tai is a particular favourite (the beef slices are so juicy and tender), and the broth is just so aromatic without being too salty or oily.

The price point overall is so good -- it's hard to find such a good value in the city nowadays. The appetisers can be a bit pricey, relatively speaking (I like their summer rolls, but it feels like I should just get another entree at that point haha), but each bowl of noodles is usually in the mid $10-20. So worth.

“Really delicious food! I came here to try the Polo Better known as Plov or بخاري as they call it in the Middle East.

Ended up trying the Noodles, Manta (better known as Mantu) Lamb Skewers. The manta was the best I ever had in the states! Everything was really delicious!

Since they didn’t have what I came for the chef came out with red tea, which is also really good. This is my go to restaurant whenever I am in the FIDI. I cannot recommend enough! This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in NYC.“

The beef chow fun is amazing, but don’t sleep on the vegetable dishes — the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and the green beans with black bean sauce are outstanding.
