“I order chicken teriyaki, my wife order bento, and my daughter chicken dumpling. The food was great we enjoyed it. It was delicious.
Customer service was fantastic. They were able to give us some recommendation.
The atmosphere was great. The floor was a bit dirty like they haven’t cleaned it for the day, but otherwise tables were clean.“

“Walked into this place on a whim because the ratings were so good. I was not disappointed. Every piece of fish was super fresh and delicious. You could tell the chef was excited about his craft and very knowledgeable. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The chared otoro was a highlight as well as the engawa.
I was a little worried that it would be overpriced but I'd gladly pay again.“

“Fantastic speakeasy sushi joint. Very small, no more than an handful of people may join the omasake style bar where 3 talented (and cool) chefs serve you the best crafted sushi you can get. Definitely going back soon.“

“If you’re simply here to enjoy good food, then you came to the right place. The ingredients are solid and absolutely worth the price — honestly, even comparable to places that charge $200–300.
But if you’re coming for a date or looking for ceremony and ambiance, this isn’t really the spot. There’s no detailed ingredient presentation or any wow-factor moments.
One more thing to note: after you finish all the courses, the extra add-on dishes aren’t really worth it.
Everything else is great though“

“My daughter chose this for a birthday dinner. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was fantastic. Audrey was our server. She was extremely knowledgeable of the menu, made great recommendations, she was there when we needed her without being there too often. I would highly recommend Rosella Sushi. Can’t wait to get back to New York City and return for a meal here. It also makes it extra cool when Chef Jeff is wearing a Florida Gator hat!“

“A must visit every time for me in New York! It’s my 4th visit and I love it every time. Excellent food and service, they were understanding when part of our party was late to the reservation due to travel delays and tried their best to accommodate. They even gave me tea and crackers while waiting for my friends! Gratuity is included in the price (like how they do it in Japan) which is surprisingly refreshing and touching for NYC. The value is unbeatable for omakase and definitely a must try if you like sushi and want to try an authentic and quality omakase experience without breaking the bank.“

“Best sushi we’ve ever had! Chicken gyoza was so good. Udon bowl was incredible. Spicy tuna, avocado roll and yellowtail scallion were top notch. Service was amazing. What a find for a meal prior to a concert at Terminal 5. Fantastic pricing as well! Highly recommend.“

“I usually don’t leave reviews, but Sushi Yolo definitely deserves one!
I decided to treat myself to celebrate the end of my doctorate program. It was a totally spontaneous decision, so I didn’t spend much time choosing a place. I opened Resy, typed “sushi midtown,” picked one of the top-rated spots, and honestly—I’m so glad I chose Sushi Yolo.
The food was great, but what really made the night special was Alex, the host. He was incredibly attentive and welcoming. I ended up having such a fun and meaningful conversation with him and another guest, Jerry—which is rare for me since I don’t usually talk to strangers. We talked about all kinds of things, and the vibe was just so easy and genuine.
Alex also kept pouring complimentary sake on the house, which was such a generous and thoughtful touch. This is one of those nights I’ll definitely remember—the atmosphere, the food, the conversations, and the company.
Thank you, Alex, for the amazing hospitality and real conversations. You and Jerry truly made my night.
I’ll definitely be back to this lovely restaurant soon.
Wishing you all the best on your journey with your husband!“

“One of the most incredible omakase experiences I’ve had. Our server was very intentional. She gave a brief description of each piece as she placed it in front of us, and we talked about the flavor profiles. You could tell she truly loved what she did. She was also very kind and friendly.
If you want your omakase experience to feel like a dinner table, this is it. ✨“

The sushi is URGH amazing, super creative and everyone around me told me this had been their favourite omakase yet. “Love Nami Nori and decided to spend Valentine's Day here with my husband. The food was outstanding as always but the service was absolutely terrible. Especially considering it was a special evening, the waiter's complete lack of care was really disappointing and certainly dampened the mood. He never once greeted us, asked how we were, and would just come over and stare at us and say “are you ready?” He never asked if we wanted to order more drinks. When I was listing the hand rolls I would like in my set (you pick 5), he got extremely frustrated because he missed some of them and was extremely rude and visibly annoyed when asking me to repeat them even though that's how most people order the rolls there. It was unfortunate that he was so unpleasant on a nice where many people are spending time with loved ones and celebrating Valentine's Day. Really disappointed in his service and desperately hope he is not my server next time I go.“

“Nice atmosphere and music, perfect for pleasant conversation, fresh ingredients, nice flavorful pairings. The sushi was very fresh. My only criticism was that the hand rolls are served with the seaweed in plastic wrappers, which makes eating the rolls a bit clumsy as you wrestle with the roll to pull off the plastic wrap. Otherwise was a great meal and would recommend.“

“You don’t expect to find this level of sushi walking down Second Avenue, but Crave Sushi Bar absolutely delivers.
Located at 947 Second Ave in Midtown East, Manhattan, Crave is a Japanese sushi restaurant that blends traditional nigiri with creative, modern bites. It looks understated from the outside, but once the food hits the table, you understand exactly what they’re doing.
The sashimi was incredibly clean and fresh. The thinly sliced white fish in citrus with jalapeño had the perfect balance of delicate texture and subtle heat. Light, bright, and refreshing.
The seared salmon nigiri was a standout. Lightly torched with a touch of sauce on top, rich without being heavy. The seared white fish with sesame and chili had depth and just enough char to bring everything together.
The uni had beautiful texture so I grabbed a photo, but I don’t eat shellfish, so my friend happily handled that one.
One of the more creative bites was the salmon and avocado cube over rice, layered neatly and finished with thin strips of nori. Clean presentation and great balance.
The spicy tuna roll had real texture and flavor, not overly mayo-heavy like so many places.
Even dessert delivered. The warm chocolate chip cookie with melting vanilla ice cream was exactly what you want to end a sushi dinner in Manhattan.
The space feels intimate and relaxed. Perfect for a casual weeknight in Midtown East or a low-key date night.
As someone who spends a lot of time in Midtown Manhattan for real estate, I’m always paying attention to the places that elevate a block. Restaurants like Crave Sushi Bar make Second Avenue more interesting.
If you’re looking for quality Japanese sushi in Midtown East Manhattan that blends traditional nigiri with modern touches, Crave Sushi Bar is absolutely worth a visit.“

“I happened to walk past this window and noticed this little restaurant. Since the next seating hadn’t started yet, I was the first one to sit down and got a unique experience. I was able to watch the chef prepare the ingredients from start to finish — you could truly see how fresh everything was.
They were very friendly and even offered me complimentary sake. The food was delicious, and the flavor combinations were perfectly balanced.
Next time, I’m definitely bringing my friends with me.“

“This was my first time trying omakase in New York, and I went alone — but the experience couldn’t have been better. From the beginning, the staff made sure to ask about any allergies or dietary restrictions, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere was calm and elegant, and the service was incredibly attentive and kind without being overbearing. Every dish was beautifully presented and thoughtfully explained. I felt completely taken care of the whole time.
Also, I was honestly surprised by how reasonably priced the wine and sake were — definitely not what I expected in NYC.
Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a welcoming and high-quality omakase experience.“

“So happy to have Mikado in the neighborhood!
Came for lunch over the weekend and had such a great experience. The hand roll set and the Super Bowl are a must. The portions were generous and the fish was incredibly fresh. Everything tasted amazing.
The decor is beautiful, the space feels clean and inviting, and the service was immaculate from start to finish.
Will definitely be ordering again and dining in soon. Highly recommend!“

“A truly unique and meditative omakase experience
Shota Omakase delivers an experience unlike anything else. The atmosphere is calm, intimate, and almost monastic — a quiet space where attention is fully focused on the food and the moment.
Service is entirely dedicated to creating a flawless experience, with an impressive level of care, precision, and respect for timing and flow.
We chose the omakase with premium sake pairing, and it was exceptional. The selection of sakes was outstanding — complex, elegant, and perfectly matched to each course. The highlights included the premium sakes shown in the pairing, all impeccably chosen.
Every dish was surprising and beautifully executed. Special mention goes to the uni, which was remarkably sweet, clean, and creamy, with absolutely no bitterness or unpleasant aftertaste — a clear sign of top-quality sourcing and handling.
This is not just a meal, but a complete sensory experience. Refined, thoughtful, and deeply memorable. An outstanding destination for those seeking omakase at the highest level in New York City.“

“If you have not experienced Omakase before, or are always on the lookout for high quality fish, you should stop by here! The flavor combinations were absolutely fantastic. The chef is very educated and versed in anything sushi, as well as other cuisines. There was a large selection of sake, and we were guided on what pairs well with certain types of fish. The team members are very sweet, it was nice to connect with them and have a real conversation over a great meal. Can’t recommend this place enough! We will be back :)“

“Super high quality and so grateful it's in the LIC neighborhood! DEFINITELY recommended. The experience is intimate, with seating for about 10-12 in front of the chefs, but with tables in the back as well for a la carte dining. We were seated next to friendly folks so instantly had a fun connection during dinner and the staff was extremely attentive and professional throughout. The seafood was unbelievably fresh and delicious. My personal favorites were the O'Toro and the King Salmon but the Nigiri was up there as were all the tuna options. In short - all SO GOOD. Topped off with dessert, our 15 and 18 course omakase experience at Kaiyo was well worth it and had us content and happy.“

“I love this place. The sushi is excellent, but it's a more relaxed and approachable atmosphere than other omakase places. And even better is that there are multiple counters and tables so you're actually able to get a reservation rather than competing for just a dozen seats per night. 😄 Really, though, the food and service are great. I have taken multiple groups here on business dinners, and we always have an excellent meal. And the service is so attentive - for example, they noticed my friend was left handed so they reoriented her plate (we were at a table, not the counter) to accommodate her on every course. I also recommend getting the beverage pairing to go with your omakase courses. The sommelier does a great job.“

“Great place with a decent price. I’m biased towards scallop so that’s always great. The Amberjack was better than most places here and their Wagyu piece as well! It completely melted off my tongue. I only dock one star because the Uni was a bit unfresh as we were getting the last few pieces from the box, so it may have been older.“

“My experience at 13 Water was absolutely incredible! We booked our reservations earlier in the week for a Friday night and were fortunate enough to get a table.
The 13-piece sushi offering was sensational—easily some of the best sushi I have ever tried. The quality of the fish is outstandingly fresh, and you can truly taste the difference. The concept of having a three-person sushi chef station is super cool and adds to the unique atmosphere.
Beyond the food, the service was equally impressive. The staff provided quick and attentive service, which made the entire experience delightful.
My wife and I agreed this was one of the coolest dining experiences we've ever had. We are absolutely planning to go back to 13 Water! Highly, highly recommend.“

“Extensive amazing choice of sake, really well crafted menu. The toppings on each nigiri were so well thought of and complimented the fishes so well. Freshness and tastyness during the whole experience! Even the all you can eat portion was so tasty and fresh - tip: dont eat too much fatty tuna!! aim for lean tuna if you want to rack up big numbers“
