“I recently had the pleasure of dining at this cozy Korean spot, and I was immediately struck by its vibrant atmosphere. Despite being busy and crowded, it contributed positively to the overall experience, creating an energetic and authentic vibe. The restaurant boasts a compact menu, a refreshing change that made choosing what to eat a breeze, without the usual decision fatigue. A standout dish for me was the lotus salad – unfortunately, I didn’t snap a picture, but believe me, it’s a must-try. The salad was delightfully crispy, featuring a medley of flavors that danced on the palate. On the flip side, the pork cheek, while tantalizing in photos, fell short of expectations. It had a gamy taste that was off-putting, and the flavors, far from being bold, were disappointingly muted. The broth, however, was a high point. The beef broth was rich and flavorful, a real treat. We also tried the seafood baguette, which was a mixed bag. The bread, unfortunately, was not toasted, leaning towards the stale side, but the seafood filling itself was delicious.Dessert was another highlight – the sweet corn crème brûlée. It was an inventive take on a classic dessert, perfectly paired with white chocolate, making for a memorable end to our meal.Overall, this restaurant is a fantastic find. Despite a few hiccups, the quality of the dishes and the unique dining experience make it a place worth visiting.“
“Stopped by a few weeks after opening. The food was excellent. Me and my boys ordered a little bit of everything. Drunken noodle was great. Duck was great. Drinks were nice looking but I don't remember what I had so, I'll try it again. Wasn't super enthused on that front but definitely a fire spot to check out. Date night gem .“
“Came back a second time and can officially say Tong Brooklyn in Bushwick is the best Thai food I know of in NYC, in the same class as LA and Thailand. And one of my favorite restaurants periodt. Everything has been top tier and filled with delight and surprise.“
“Had a fabulous meal here with friends eating in warm and attractive outside seating. The crisp roast lamb (actually lamb neck cooked like osso bucco but with Middle Eastern spices) was one of the best meat dishes I’ve eaten in years. Really, a piece of art!! Go savor some!“
“Traif is so outstanding that it reminds me, despite our crumbling society, that there is a beacon of hope, a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of a chef’s tasting menu, where each dish is so flavorful, so delicious, that I shed not one, but several tears that maybe, just maybe, humanity has a chance of food this good still exists.“
“Even on limited time, I make it a priority to visit PLANTA whenever we're in the same city. I walked here from the Empire State Building, and it was bustling on a Saturday evening. I happily sat at the bar. FIRECRACKER ROLL This was on their April exclusive menu. Filled with Japanese sweet potato, avocado, unagi, and topped with gochujang mayo & chili salt. DELICIOUS! It deserves to be a staple menu item. TORCHED AND PRESSED One of my go-to menu items. This roll is so melt-in-your-mouth creamy. I drool every time. I even convinced some girls sitting at the bar to order this roll. BANG BANG BROCCOLI My numero uno go-to dish since I visited the SOBE location a few years ago. Will never not order this. Crunchy. Flavorful. Amazing in every way. As they were leaving, a couple asked me about this dish and I let them each have one floret. They were sold! (Not all PLANTAs have the same dishes, but luckily, two of my favs have been at all the ones I've visited: FL, CA, IL, & NY.) TRUFFLE RICE I tend to avoid the main dishes and stick with starters and sushi, but I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I should've followed my instincts. It had a nice flavor to it, but it was dry and the rice was overcooked. Disappointing. There was so much potential with the cumulation of ingredients. As a PLANTA Passport holder who doesn't live near a PLANTA, I was excited to be able to use my birthday reward - a free dessert! But they didn't have my fav available- the giant chocolate chip cookie, so I ended up passing on dessert. Service was great. As busy as he was, he kept my water glass filled. The worst part about my visit is that I rushed out to catch my Uber back to Brooklyn and left my leftovers on the counter. I may have shed a tear about it. Tip: there are outlets and hooks at the bar.“
“The food at Elea is always outstanding, the service this time...not so much. AND, as the people sitting next to us were leaving, the man said "do not order the cheesecake." I didn't ask why he said that but....he clearly didn't like it. Unfortunately, our server was not the best but I guess that's to be expected on a holiday.“
“The dining experience as a whole was satisfactory; certain dishes stood out while others fell short of expectations. The entrees, particularly the fried chicken, failed to leave a lasting impression, especially when contrasted with the myriad of exceptional Korean fried chicken offerings available in NYC. The cod was one-note with an overpowering gochugang curry sauce. There were notable highlights such as the sea urchin steamed egg, the squash, and the refreshing sujeonggwa granita, though the occasional overpowering presence of cinnamon in the granita detracted slightly from the overall enjoyment. I would recommend a visit to sample select items, but skip the fried chicken and cod.“
“Korean food at it’s best.Fried rice with steak was top, endives salad with Korean pears and nuts was just amazing. The chicken wings is a must if you happen to go!!Service amazing, fast and attentive at all times.Looking forward to go back and try the famous Pork Shank!!“
“The best cocktails I’ve had in NY. Kashke bademjoon was so good. Mast musir and whipped feta so good as well as Barbari nan. Mushroom Kebab very good. I didn’t like the Tah Dig (Krispy rice) it was like Tah Chin without chicken in a sauce. Will I go there again!? Hell yeah!“
“I absolutely ADORED this place! I came here with my partner last weekend and I got the Shishito Smolder Margherita and she got the Clarified Cocktail Flight! Both were so mfing delish!!!! Such a cute atmosphere and so romantic. Not to mention the service was PHENOMENAL our server was so attentive and sweet and barely any wait at all. This is one of my new favorite bars in Manhattan and we will definitely be coming back!“
“Amazing atmosphere, creative dishes and food drinks. Especially the corn dumplings were to die for. The oxtail spring rolls are also a must have. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because we had to wait close to 30 minutes for our last dish, which was the cauliflower. They kept telling us it was “a couple of minutes away” and since we were strapped for time to reach another appointment, we asked if we could just skip that dish if it was going to take so long. The waiter didn’t seem to appreciate that, and kept reiterating that it was a few minutes away. The cauliflower was good but not worth a 30 minute wait. The staff were nice and comped us a round of sake, but it was still annoying as we were late for our next appointment.“
“This is some of the best food we've had in NY. Wonderful service and great ambiance. We got blistered shishito peppers, calamari, salmon, red shrimp, and scallops. Finished with the lava cake and the cheesecake. We didn't leave a crumb.“
“We came across Aura on a night out, and we are so happy that we decided to go in. We loved it so much, that we stayed till closing. The owner welcomed us with so much warmth, and hospitality. He was incredibly accommodating and got us seats by the beautiful, electric bar even though it was full. The bartenders were super sweet, fun, and everyone was so pleasant to be around. Overall it was a cozy, fun, charming little place.Drinks were amazing. Our friend tried the food and she loved it. We will definitely be back for more drinks, the food, and the aura ;)“
“One of my favorite restaurants in all of Astoria! My husband and I always bring friends and family here when they visit the neighborhood. The staff is always so incredibly nice and generous (Miljan is usually our server and is so attentive and hilarious). We always have a wonderful time here, whether it’s a quiet weekday lunch or a packed Saturday night.“
“what a sweet little spot! the staff were welcoming and friendly and the restaurant is gorg inside. we came for brunch and had the çilbir to share between 2 people, which comes with several sides. the meal was refreshing, light, and so, so tasty.“
“The food here was absolutely delicious, the service was great, and the ambience was cool (including the music). I lived in Japan for a few years and really couldn't find good agedashi tofu anywhere - but the agedashi tofu here was so so good. I would go again just for the agedashi tofu. We also had the beef nabe, okonomiyaki, ddukboki, and yakisoba - all of the dishes were superb.“
“The best Spanish food restaurant in NY, at the level of the tops in Barcelona and Madrid. Excellent quality, excellent wines. The unbeatable treatment. The atmosphere very pleasant. We will repeat soon to be able to dine in that pleasant garden...“
“It is always to come back to this great place. I love stuff there and the atmosphere they are making there. Unique drinks, with great flavors you'll never think off. Amazing food, always tasting delicious. Highly recommended to visit while being in Greenpoint.“
“As per most of my other recent reviews, I went to this Southern spot several months back. We went here after they had unexpectedly gone on the best new restaurants list having barely heard about the restaurant otherwise. The lighting was nice here and the staff was friendly giving good recommendations. They have ample space as well. The spot has a fun creative cocktail menu which are reasonably priced with some drinks having rather humorous names. I went with the A Complex Cocktail For Bitter People for $15 which is their take on a Negroni with roots of ruin gin, saffron liqueur, and vermouth di torino bianco which was excellent. The cocktail had a nice presentation with the vivid off yellow and the flower and it had a nice balance of bitterness, citrus, and herbal flavors. This was excellent though not on the current drink menu. They also had the opposite named A Bitter Cocktail For Complex People which was their take on a Manhattan along with plenty of other choices. As per usual for food, we split a lot of dishes. For smaller plates, my favorite was the Country Fried Baby Back Ribs for $16 with dill & vinegar and jezebel sauce. This sauce in question contains fruit jelly and combined with the dill and vinegar; it was a nice mix of sour and sweet with very tender ribs which weren't too heavily fried. Excellent. Also tasty was the Hush Puppies for $10 with jalapeno, cheddar, popcorn, and remoulade. They were lighter than expected with a little kick and the popcorn was fun for presentation. I think the remoulade should be on this side and not presented on top but I guess it's more artful that way. OK was the Crab Cake for $24 listed as corn flake crusted with whole grain mustard, radish, and herb salad. It was a bit pricey and the flavors didn't pop as much as the other appetizers. The mustard was a fun spin but perhaps don't order this as this is probably one of the only overpriced things on the menu outside of perhaps the steak. We ordered two main dishes; the Roasted Rib Cap and the Crispy 1/2 Chicken which were both fine. The former for $42 with bourbon worcestershire caramel consisted of a very tender steak though maybe a bit small. The sauce indeed had some sweetness but there was a bit of salt on the steak so it was pretty well balanced. The latter dish for $26 with`bama white sauce and herbs was solid. Tender fried chicken with a fun presentation. No real major complaints though I am not exactly sure if it is half a chicken (probably is though.) The restaurant is also known for it's desserts so we got both to share which are both $12. Of the two, my preference was the Key Lime Tart with toasted coconut and candied lime zest. I haven't had many good key lime tarts in the city and this was excellent as it wasn't too sour or sweet. The candied lime zest on top as well as the coconut just added extra pizzazz. I almost found the latter Banana Pudding Tart with caramel and vanilla wafers to be a bit worse. It was well presented as per the other dessert and it was plenty rich but it was perhaps a bit too sweet with the amount of caramel they put on top. This is a fun spin on Southern food which isn't exactly a cuisine you find commonly enhanced. The desserts and appetizers were definitely better than the entrees but the entrees weren't too shabby either. Upper 3/low 4.“
“"Tapas-style" Korean menu in a location perfect for a pre-theatre dinner! The raw scallop, bossam, and kimchi fried rice were all super flavorful and delicious. The only complaint I had was for the cheese corn riblets - they just quartered the corn cobs for this dish so you still have to bite the corn off the cob section, instead of just cutting the kernels off into riblets like most restaurants do. Makes it messier than necessary. The $16-18 bottles of Kikusui sake on the menu are a definite plus!“
“We walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night (we had just arrived in the city) and only had a 45 minute wait. The food is delicious, I had pork tonkatsu ramen, and my husband had a seafood okonomiyaki. We shared a soy and ginger beef appetizer and got their seasonal Miu Miu cocktail. The service was quick once we were seated and the staff was friendly. The only drawback is that the space is loud, and it is uncomfortable to try and have a conversation over your meal. That may not be a problem on a weekday though.“
“Super hole in the wall spot I stumbled upon randomly - I sat at the counter right up against the kitchen, which offered a nice view of the prepping process. Ordered the chili garlic noodles, which were pretty spicy as advertised! Don't come here expecting a super authentic taste, but the influence is certainly there. Didn't blow my mind, but I thought it was a fair value for the large portion of fresh veggies, and everything was cooked very nicely! Service was super friendly, and it's honestly quite amazing the amount of dishes they churn out with such a tiny kitchen and three-persons-staff. I will say the vibes were a little confusing with the predominantly southeastern Asian menu, anime on the tv, and Kpop music playing lol. Also, the place could use better ventilation - was left with my clothes smelling heavily of food.“
“What a great find! This restaurant is a hidden gem. The food is authentic Mexican and the cocktails are so fresh! Alex, the manager, made sure I was comfortable. All the staff is very welcoming. Get yourself a cocktail and order family style so you can try a bit of everything.“
“After 4 days in New York with 2 children we finally found a place to eat well. The owner Andrea was very kind in meeting our needs, you can see that he loves his job. Highly recommended place for those who want to eat well a stone's throw from Time Square.“
“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. This was our second time here and it has quickly become one of our goto places in Astoria. From the greeting at the door to the selection of great wine and cocktails- all unique because the are craft brews- to the staff answering our many questions about the very different and delicious menu to the quality of the food- an awesome experience. Last week we were there and enjoyed live jazz and the musicians mingled and talked with us. The decor is very comfortable. Looking forward to attending the special event nights, too. See you next week- if not before!!“
“I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised at how great the service was at this very popular wine bar. We went in on a Friday night before seeing a play across the street. The staff could not have been nicer, very helpful with our selections and very professional. The manager even remembered us after we stopped back in after the play. The wine selections are nicely curated and the food is delicious. Will definitely stop back again.“
“Benemon has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in New York and always hits the spot when I’m in the mood for Japanese comfort food. I definitely want to come back and try more of the menu, but it’s hard not to get the same thing every time because it’s so good.I recommend making a reservation, because it can get pretty busy!“
“This is the second time that we have eaten at this gem near the theater district. We were there for lunch. We each had sangria, I had the seafood paella and my wife had a shrimp burrito. Great food, friendly service and very reasonable pricing“
“Don’t let the outside fool you, always walked past but the inside has a whole different atmosphere. It’s rather lovely and reminds me of France/Italy, fresh flowers and staff is amazing! Not to mention how amazing the food is! Some of the best food in Astoria, heaven for vegetarians. I’m not even vegetarian and the Charred broccoli panini is one of the best things and I’m not even vegetarian. Must try in Astoria“
“best tapas outside of spain, and fair prices for the quality and taste, freshness too.used to be on 19st pre pandemic this location is beautiful. staff very friendly. we’ve been all over, to thousands of restaurants in the city and this is one of our favorites.Kid-friendliness: lots of families and lots of space“
“Loveee the vibe! Very cute/casual, great if you're looking for a chill spot to grab some drinks and chat with friends. The music was perfect and definitely set the right tone. As soon a we grabbed spot at the bar, the staff gave us water and took our orders right away. Service was great throughout the rest of the night. Everything is fairly priced and the bar snacks are what you'd expect. Excited to come back during the summer for the outdoor patio!“
“Really solid Iranian food @ a great value, in a place with great service & a cool ambiance. I was really impressed my first time going and expect this to be a go-to! I heard they served sosis bandari at one pt - if they bring that back I’m there immediately ??“
“Ostrica is a gem! Awesome happy hour, and the oysters are always fresh & meaty. Ownership obviously cares about the product they put out, every dish we've had has been on point. Let's make sure this place is around for a long time!“
“Soogil is a genius and his training and creativity shows. Everything is made and plated expertly and the staff is friendly and professional. The restaurant is a great value as my friend and I shared the glass noodles, cod, pork belly, a dessert, and a drink and the total was $80. Would highly recommend. Run, don't walk.“
“It was date night!!! Double date night that is. My close boy and I planned a secret double date with our significant other. They did not know it was a double until we met up at the door of Salvaje social club. let me just say the ambiance did not disappoint at all, the wild jungle theme had me loving every minute of my walk in and stay. Throughout the night the smoke machine would random blow smoke give the place a misty look. The music was pumping all night long and kept us in an upbeat vibe. The selection of music was mainly Spanish music, they did sprinkle in some English music but for most the night it was reggaeton etc. Although I didn't understand what was being said I surely loved the beat of every song that played. The staff at salvaje was very quick, informative of the menu, polite and friendly. We started off with the seeds of passion which was very tasty and strong. We did two rounds of that drink, couldn't get enough of it lol. I then had a Hennessy and pineapple juice , I don't know what pineapple juice was used but it was so good along with the Hennessy. For starters we had the shrimp toastadas and let me tell you it was amazing , I highly recommend it. Two of us ordered the Milton's rice and the other two ordered chicken on the cut. The rice was well fried and seasoned along with the shrimp, it was just a bit salty but i still loved it, the food really did not let me down at all. We stuck around after eating to drink more and dance a bit during our stay. I'll give Salvaje a 10/10 for vibes 10/10 for drinks 9/10 for Food 10/10 for service 10/10 for ambiance“
“Several things I’d recommend about THE PURPLE TONGUE. 1) The unique wide selection of rare wines. The owner Peter spent a lot of time in Asia & SE Asia & Europe. He totally understands great wines. 2) the best baked salmon in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood & I’m a salmon lover. 3) the relaxing atmosphere of his indoor & outdoor seating space. And even outdoors the massive plants section off the eatery and the sidewalk for privacy 4) last but not least the great jazz & blues entertainment which sometimes features vocalist for your listening & enjoyment pleasure“
“Cello is a cozy spot with a decent selection of drinks (beer, wine, spirits) and small plates. The interior is really charming, with wood and exposed brick making it feel more like a relative's home than a bar in midtown Manhattan. There's bar seating, and a few small tables. Overall not many seats, expect a wait if you try to come at peak times. Drinks were fine -- good beer selection and a list of cocktails that was balanced, without being overwhelming. Service was excellent, the bartenders were very friendly. Definitely worth a visit for a more intimate get together or a date!“
“The Little Pig is one of the best Cocktail Bars in Brooklyn, hands down. The atmosphere is dope, the staff are literally SO nice, interactive and accepting and the owner is super nice too! Such good vibes here! The drinks are great, and the bartenders will help you with recommendations that are spot on. Not to mention, they offer a really affordable happy hour menu as well.Whether you want to do a quick drink for happy hour, stop by with friends at night, or make a pit stop for a drink, The Little Pig offers it all.“
“Absolutely!"Fantastic experience at Hongdae Korean! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and authentic. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was simply outstanding - each dish bursting with flavor and prepared with care.Overall, Highly recommend Hongdae Korean for anyone craving delicious Korean cuisine!"“
“Coziest wine bar ever with the best service. Get here early on the weekends because it's small and gets busy. I've had the brownie, the mussels, oysters, and hummus and all were delicious. I even asked for a non red pairing for the brownie and it paired well lol. Last time I was here I brought a book to read and they made the lighting a little brighter for me. All in all great.“
“Really cool French bistro in LES ! All the dishes we tried were great and service was good. We really liked the croque monsieur and butterfly salmon which came with ratatouille; very delicious. The house red wine was also great. Cool place to catch up with friends.“
“Came here with a vegan friend who is from way out of town. She really wanted to eat here and they were really nice to take us at the bar without a reservation. Service was good. Food was tasty. Liked the oyster mushroom chicken and waffles. Perhaps the best is the ambiance tho. Pink, fun and beautiful!“
“We had a marvelous time and will be back soon. The dishes scored high above already high expectations we had having visited all of Chef Andres' restaurants in DC in October, and the new diners who we brought were most pleased with their experience as well.“
“Fantastic neighborhood spot. The ambiance is the perfect cozy, intimate, and friendly French restaurant. Every dish my husband and I got were delicious. Pretty reasonable prices as well for the quality of food and flavor! We got the steak tartare to start, the cassoulet, and beef bourginon. The steak tartare was a refreshing starter. The cassoulet was a great cozy dish in a cold night. Great flavor that wasn't too heavy. The beef bourginon was also fantastic. The beef was tender and moist and came with a great, rich sauce. Wine options were great and paired well with dinner. Also loved that the water cups were made from old wine bottles. Very friendly owners and servers!“
“I love love love this place. Best steak tacos around!! Caesar is an amazing bartender! Keeps my glass full and cold! ❤️Whether it’s a hard day or a great day I always leave this place smiling ?Catch us here for amazing taco Tuesdays ?“
“My husband and I have eaten here twice: both times we’ve enjoyed delicious pizza, pasta, wine, coffee, and desserts. The staff are attentive and kind without hovering. Most recently, a couple and their young son were having dinner too. Beebe’s is a great choice for so many different people and families.“
“The staff helps in the selection and number of tapas. All of them, from different Spanish and Latin American gastronomic varieties, are excellent. Very careful preparation and presentation. The space between the tables allows for conversation without interference from the neighbor or the feeling of the neighbor's ear hanging. The feeling in summary is extremely pleasant. Excellent selection of wines. Nothing is excessive and everything is of very good quality.“
“My family and I stopped here for a quick dinner late Thursday. The ambiance was fun, with a wide variety of music and happy patrons laughing throughout the restaurant. Although the music was a tad loud for regular volume conversations, we enjoyed it overall. The food was enjoyable and the service was amazing! We had a very attentive server and the manager was kind enough to check on us during our meal.Thank you“
“I can't tell you how many years I've passed this place and never ate there until today and the food and drinks were outstanding the service was outstanding everything about this place is magnificent the desserts my top picks bread pudding . amazing. the only thing I regret is not coming here sooner LOL“
