“I was in Hood River for a wedding and found this place on my way out. Such a cute vibe & friendly staff. As hard as it was to decide, I got the biscuit breakfast sandwich. It came with two pieces of marinated & fried tempeh, greens, potatoes, avocado, topped with garlic & red pepper spreads on a warm biscuit. It was served with a side salad and WOW it was delicious. I also got an iced mocha & a peach danish to take for the car ride home. Can’t wait to find myself back here someday! Updated from previous review on 2026-09-15”

“Mungen Noodle caught my attention as soon as we parked. It absolutely did not disappoint. Their potstickers were deep fried and delicious. For my main I ordered the Fire Fish making it extra spicy. The heat was well balanced and not overwhelming. The salmon was also soo good. For desert I got the sesame seed mochi ice cream. There’s something about the texture that I love. That softness mixed with the cold ice cream complimented each other perfectly. This takes me back to my visits to Japan. I absolutely loved it and would return if given the opportunity.”

“Pine Street Bakery ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On 9/15/22, I stopped in Hood River, Oregon to check out Pine Street Bakery. Owner Megan Davis’s mother started Grand Central Bakery in Seattle, Washington in 1972. Today, there are 11 locations between Portland and Seattle. If you ever have an opportunity to visit a Grand Central Bakery/Café, I recommend it. I wanted to try one of their famous Cardamom Knots, which are Challah dough slathered in Vanilla Butter, covered in Cardamom Sugar and tied in a Knot. Unfortunately, they were out. I got a Carrot Cake cupcake ($5), which is one of their best sellers, as well as a Maddie Cake cupcake ($5). The Maddie Cake cupcake is a seasonal cupcake that changes with some regularity. The current Maddie Cake cupcake is Peaches & Cream. It is Vanilla cake filled with Peach compote made from local peaches, topped with a Vanilla Swiss Meringue Butter cream frosting. I enjoyed both cupcakes but my favorite of the two was the Maddie Cupcake because it was so unique. There was a generous amount of peach compote in the center of the cupcake, as well as on top. The compote had great flavor. Both cupcakes were fairly dense but moist. In addition to the baked goods and breads, Pine Street Bakery has Breakfast, Lunch, and Coffee menus, as well as specials. They also sell a lot of other products and fresh flowers. Highly Recommended!!!”

“Nice spot. Parking can run hot and cold. Excellent shop, well taken care of. Slim on staffing, adequate to the task. Fewer food offerings than some other places, but nothing to knock them on. It was all excellent. Family friendly. Plenty of 4 tops can easily be 6, or taller tables for couples.”

“I don’t want this review to be taken lightly. My wife, her parents and myself dined here in May. I may not speak for them, but I will shout it from the rooftops- This restaurant is something truly special. The combination of Nathan and Chef Sarah’s talents are truly remarkable. I will not dare tote my expertise here, because Sarah is light years ahead of anyone in a hundred mile (plus??) radius when it comes to a culinary education, but each item wether it is a-la-cart or prefix is so filling and the flavors intelligently thought out. Down to the temperature they reach at the arrival of the table. Fresh baked bread, bouillabaisse, oostera caviar, and wagyu steaks? Don’t second guess the notches in your belt, get the caviar. Chef Sarah’s multitude of talents truly shine brightest in the pastry department. I have full confidence in saying every dessert that will ever be consumed here will be taken bite by bite with gratitude, fond memories with your loved ones and flavor-induced euphoria. Nathan is also a mastermind behind the operation, and has a wealth of knowledge about the area and more importantly, local and foreign wines. I can’t wait to see how he and Sarah continue to grow this business in the years to come. To top it off, the signed card from the owners with a list of each guests ordered items, thoughtfully thanking their guests? Super class act.

If I had anything, ANYTHING at all to say…Hood River is full of so much beautiful multi-cultural art, and niche charm. I would love to see Chef Sarah and Nathan’s take on incorporating more art inside the restaurant. The tall ceiling and barren white walls are just a touch intimidating for new guests. (I recommend checking out Bellingham local Chef James Zamory’s collection). Just a thought.

With that, dear reader, you have every reason to pack those dress shoes you haven’t worn since your brother’s wedding and she has every reason to break out that gorgeous dress she’s been dying to wear out on the town- make a stop here and have a glorious memory to hold near and dear to your heart for years to come.

“On our way back to Pendleton from Portland, we stopped to charge our car. Then walked over to Solstice Wood Fire Pizza for dinner. We decided to order the BLBB pizza, a hot Kenyan Grey tea, and a huckleberry organic lemonade. Our server Brad N did an awesome job making our dining experience a real treat.”

“I ordered the Thai Chicken. They will ask you what level of heat you want. I get Thai hot, I'm not real sensitive to spicy food. It was delicious and comes with brown rice, decent portions and pair it with Thai tea and you'll have a delicious meal. I would highly recommend this place.”

The tacos, enchiladas and quesedillas were just the right portions and we could taste the freshness of their ingredients. The crush puppies were a star as were the cider flights. “We loved working with Amy for our wedding reception desserts on July 4th at Mt. View Orchards! We decided to do a dessert bar instead of a cake. She made the whole process so smooth and prepared a tasting box several months before our event to help us pick what we wanted. I don’t like sweet coffee and I’m critical when something isn’t good. But damn it this is the best, comfort, tasty, most delicious coffee I’ve ever had. I got the salted caramel coffee and my partner got the pink velvet. It was like having some damn good dessert. I don’t like raspberry and chocolate of any sort but my partner does, I couldn’t stop drinking his either. If it wasn’t for my sister in law asking my partner and I to visit her, as she works there, I would never try it nor give this review. I think more people need to try this at least once. I will say it can be sweet but worth it. I’m sure you can ask for it less sweet. Best I’ve ever had.”

“What a great little dive bar/cafe in the middle of downtown Hood River. This is an old establishment so it looks a little rough. We had their specialty fish and chips which was very tasty, or was I really hungry after of day of hiking and sightseeing around Mt Hood? Washed it down with a Rainier beer (Walt Longmire's favorite)! Bartender/waitress was very attentive to our needs. All in all, it was a good experience.”
