“So happy to have this place in the neighborhood! Wonderful little spot that feels like your back yard. Nice food and drinks. Andrew is super cool and a great bartender! Would love to see what their event rental options would be for my local non profit theatre troupe.“
“Great beer (Golden Boot Pilsner, Petr Czech Dark Lager) friendly service good atmosphere“
“We hosted a private event at Commensal Fermentation & had an amazing time. The space is beautiful, Mike is great to communicate with, and we had a wonderful experience. IT IS SUCH A VIBE. Our guests loved it. Thank you to him & his crew for making the evening special!“
“Great beer and the food carts are awesome!!“
“The best neighborhood micro brewery! Every saison here makes me question reality in a good way. Small scale, botanical and herbal delights making all their beers refreshing, hearty, and effervescent. The food pairings are always perfect with attentive service. Sunny space outdoors in the summer and warm cozy indoor space in the winter. It’s a place that reminds me of the best of old Portland and new Portland in one.“
“Contactless equals lack of the human interaction.“
“Up and coming little nano brewery in the north side of town, no food served but Thai food truck right out front and home brew supply store next door. The location is a modern mix of industrial brewing equipment and hip tasting room decor with bar games, small patio area, etc. The staff and owners were really friendly, happily providing tastes and information about the establishment. Started with the Ginger Kid Vanilla Red Ale, a decent red, malty in flavor and medium body. Moved on to Gnome Bard Wit, which was a refreshingly nice and light beer for a hot day! Decent bite to it. Also tried the Tiny House Session, another good one, better than the previous in my opinion, more suited for a laid back beer to quench the thirst without getting too buzzed. Lastly, came the Common Cut, which I did not care for too much. All in all a great visit, being a fairly new brewery, I look forward to what they have in store next. With single barrel batches, they often introduce new taps so stay tuned! Check out their website, it will win you over pronto! Thanks guys, see ya again soon! Best, ~S“

“Shepherds pies was great, Corned beef and cabbage amazing… great beers and the bread pudding…. Delicious. Great atmosphere and the Bartender was friendly and took great care of us.“
“Such a cool vibe, and they share a space with a Mexican food place with some of the best birria tacos I've ever had. Only bummer is that they didn't have a single dark beer.... Just pilsners and ipas. It's such a badass place I would expect at least 1 awesome stout or a porter....and because the tacos are so good it would be rad if they had a Mexican lager as well.“

“Stopped by here for a few beers and pizza on Father's day. Good selection of different kinds of beers. The brewery staff was great and friendly. We enjoyed the beers here and a space was set aside for world cup viewing. We will definitely go back“
“One of the best local Portland breweries doing traditional German styles
… often find owner Tobias behind the bar, happy to tell you about growing up in Deutschland and how the beers relate to the people and place … and how this all comes together in the Rose City.“
“Great beer and the food carts are awesome!!“
“Great remodel from when it was Modern Times Fermentorium…good beer selection, friendly service…great overall experience!“
“This place is worth a stop! The beer, the weekend pizza and the atmosphere is great. Stuffed inside of a repurposed building, it looks like a manufacturing building on the outside.
Oh, did I mention the sandwiches during the weekdays. Those are pretty tasty too.
I'll come back once I try some food here and it's not good.“

“Love love love this place. One a street where there has been a lot on construction changes and old buildings being torn down, this place has taken advantage of square footage in a home. Both covered and not covered outside seating areas. In door has a great bar! Customer Service is amazing, even when its busy. The Beer, fantastic! I tried all of them on tap. Bathrooms are large. Food was amazing! I highly recommend.“
“Sarah and Abby are the greatest bartenders I have ever experienced. Both so considerate and observant and just pleasant af. Always know when I am ready for another drink. Also just so sweet and kind and cool and make me feel so special. The reason I come! Thank you for making me and my friends feel so good. I hope your employer knows how incredibly cool and valuable you are! I will come again and again to see you both!“

“What's not to love about Mayfly?! Mayfly always has one of the best draft and bottle selections in the Portland area that always feels new every time I come in. Prices are excellent, staff and the owner are wonderful people, and there are plenty of great events to check out each week. Also a great selection of food vendors during the weekend. I live in Vancouver and bike here regularly because It's my favorite spot within miles.“
“Absolutely fantastic! The chicken tacos were juicy, topped with the perfect amount of fresh pico, and the house-made tortillas took them to another level. We also tried the chicken sandwich with the new collaboration special, and it was incredible. We eat a lot of chicken sandwiches, and this one is now at the top of our list.
The beers were excellent as well, making for an all-around great meal. We’ll definitely be making Gorges Beer Co. a regular stop!“
“The gluten free food here is some of the best I've ever had. You'd never guess it's gluten free. The fried chicken is crunchy, moist as you bite into it and flavorful. Even better are the fish and chips. If you have celiacs and want to eat food you've not had in years this is the place. The beers are gluten free and delicious.“
“bloop was a great sour and the staff was amazing!!“
“Been coming to Occidental on/off since Spring 2015 and it's one of my favorite places to be.
Having a brew (or two!) and meandering to Cathedral Park, lounging on the docks beneath the iconic St. Johns Bridge?? Pure happy place.“
“I really enjoyed this pod! There are 8+ different places to eat and the food here is wonderful. My wife and I personally tried , "flew the coop" and "La Arepa" and both had great service and the food was delicious. The attached brewery had an amazing selection of beers. The only detractor was that there was A Lot of very hoppy beers. That is a personal preference though. The Beer I did have was delicious. It's very family friendly and I enjoyed it.“
“Stopped here on our way to Eugene to move our daughter into U of O. Delicious food super friendly staff. Go Ducks!!!!!!“
“Pet friendly, great pizza!!“
“My great nephew was playing drums in a large band to a packed house upstairs in Crystal Ballroom. A dozen or so of assorted family had come to Portland to partake and as the matinee was wrapping up in the late afternoon I said to the drummers mom, who was kind of our ring-leader, I'd go downstairs and stake out a big table for all of us to eat. Shortly after sitting at the largest table in the farthest from the bar corner of the side room, the bartender came to tell me they weren't really staffed to be serving in that room. I told him I had maybe a dozen people coming down from upstairs and we'd be an easy, forgiving crowd. He looked dubious, and said he'd need to check with the manager. He was back quickly putting out menus and arranging chairs. Our final number was ten, and our only server was this same guy who was also one of maybe two bartenders for the whole place. As he took our orders he said it would likely take up to an hour for the kitchen to produce our food, because dozens of people from upstairs had come in as well. Our drinks came quickly, and the food arrived in much less time than he suggested. Every order was correct. To my knowledge everybody liked what they ordered and the prices seemed about right. He did not seem in the slightest rattled by adding our big group to his personal workload and came back a few times to see how were all doing and take additional orders for drinks. And the drummer and the rest of us we were out of there well in time for the evening show at 8:00. I don't know if this really is an excellent place, but it sure was for us.“
“This is another gem in the McMenamins line of fun, historical establishments - and by far my favorite! Been here many times over the years - actually even had my very first lobster roll EVER here (as a special item years ago) and it was amazing. The vibe is so quirky - you definitely feel like you’re walking the halls of your old elementary school - except there are bars and a lively restaurant and even a brewery haha!! The staff has always been super welcoming and friendly. The food at their main Courtyard Restaurant has always been great. On my last visit (July 2023), I had their chicken salad sandwich on croissant and it was SO GOOD!! Even their tater tots were perfectly cooked. And they even have some of the best iced tea I’ve had outside of the south! Their menu changes seasonally so it’s always a treat to try something new. After eating, leave time to explore - the grounds are just gorgeous and you’ll get lost in the nostalgia as you wander around the old school’s hallways. They have several bars - one is huge and has total steampunk vibes. They have a small hotel and a salt water pool - even the bathrooms are beautiful. I’d definitely like to stay here next time - but I imagine it can be a tad spooky at night haha! The school opened back in 1915 so it’s a historic building. The wall art is gorgeous and there are lots of info signs and historical pics scattered around. It’s in a good location in north Portland with plenty of parking and easy to find. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the area!“

“The ambiance is impeccable! The theater is one of the most cozy and beautiful I’ve ever been to. The bar has so many things to admire! My only negative notes are that the “Cajun tots” are quite salty, and the Lemon Raspberry seltzer is not good. The gyro however was delicious! Will definitely come back in the future.“

“LOVING WHAT I'M SEEING! 🎉
PLUS the Vegetarian offerings! *chef's kiss!* 🍻
It's not easy being a Local Small Business in Portland, Oregon, PNW to say the absolute least. In my oh-so-humble opinion, Portland Peeps don't seem to get that.
Anytime I read a negative review I genuinely wonder if...or how hard they tried to convey that information to the staff/management DURING THEIR VISIT; likely not.
Quit yer bitchin' online and GO AND SUPPORT YOUR SMALL LOCAL BUSINESSES SO THEY CAN STAY IN BUSINESS! ✌️🍻“
“EXCELLENT PRODUCT! Current staff member named Maya decided to verbally and physically assault me getting within 1.5 ft of my personal space. Maya and all staff I wish you all my best and suggest training on boundaries and getting into the personal space of new employees. Great product! Highly recommend ginger fix and green apple!
