“We drive up from central Vermont to eat at Joe Beef - it's a 3+ hour drive and worth every minute in the car. Oysters and escargot are off the hook every time and the service - OMG chef's kiss. Julien is the premiere server - patient, makes incredible suggestions, knows the menu and wine list like the back of his hand and even elaborates on where food is sourced. “In my humble opinion, one of the best restaurants in North America. I have eaten at three floret Michelin restaurants in various European cities. That this restaurant did not get an initial floret when Montreal restaurants were reviewed is a travesty - the judging is clearly uneven.“

“Busy and lively cafe with a good atmosphere in Old Montreal. I ordered an americano which was tasty; more of a traditional Italian espresso blend. For food I ordered the Lac Brome which was decent but not anything spectacular. I found that it lacked a bit of flavour. The server was very professional and friendly! I would come back here but to try another item off of the menu.“

Dumplings are always good, either fried or steamed.
Noodles were fine when I tried, and in good quantity.

“Out of all the places I ate in Montreal, this was my FAVOURITE poutine. Squeaky curds, with perfect ratios of cheese to gravy to fries. The portion was generous, you get so much for what you pay. I was more than satisfied after eating here.
Service was super friendly and nice. I love the old school interior and being able to see the food made right in front of me. This location in particular is a MUST for poutine.“

“This was a wonderful experience eating the set menu Chefs Table. Started at 7:30 and walked out around 11:00 pm. It was nonstop from start to finish. The food choices were wonderful. The staff was on top of everything from the start. We received a personal thanks from the Chef wishing us a Happy Anniversary and later a tour of the kitchen explaining all the details of how they prep and serve. I have watched cooking shows so this was very informative to us.“

The service was friendly, and the space is definitely Instagram-worthy.

I had an oat cappuccino and a pastry. The pastry was solid, but the coffee fell a bit flat, the oat cappuccino could use more flavor and balance.

“I’m disabled and found it easy to walk into the place. It wasn’t overly crowded but had enough people to make it feel very lively! I started with the tortilla soup, then had the fish tacos and to drink I tried the strawberry Jarritos and a sip of their margarita which I’d have again on a warm day ☀️ Everything was delicious, the staff was patient and courteous. I felt very comfortable and I’m already planning my next visit for the springtime!“

Bagel Ect, still a gem! They served up one of the best brunches we've had in Montreal. I ordered the classic Benedictine Eggs Benedict—perfectly poached eggs, rich and velvety hollandaise, all on a fresh, fluffy base. My partner had the Romanov, a version with lox, which was equally delicious—the smoked salmon was silky and flavorful without overpowering the dish. A special shoutout to their sautéed potatoes—crispy, well-seasoned, and the ideal companion to our meals. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and food done right. Forgot to mention, thier latte are perfect...Highly recommended!“
