“We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and had an amazing experience.
The service was outstanding — our waiter was incredibly attentive, explaining the menu and daily specials in detail, and helping us choose the perfect wine.

We started with the croquettes, then had the rib eye with carrots as our main dish — everything was delicious. We found it funny that, for my husband’s birthday, they placed a candle on a potato instead of a dessert 🤭 — such a quirky and memorable touch!

For dessert, we ordereded - apparently their house specialty. It was worth it.

Total including tip and 4 glass of wine was close to $400.

All in all, one of the best dinners we’ve ever had in Montreal. Highly recommended!“

I had read some concerns about the sauses being bland, but I found them to be perfectlry balanced. They complemented the naural flavors of the ingredients without overpoering them. The dishes were refined and delicate, and both the service and ambiance exceed my expections.“

“Busy and lively cafe with a good atmosphere in Old Montreal. I ordered an americano which was tasty; more of a traditional Italian espresso blend. For food I ordered the Lac Brome which was decent but not anything spectacular. I found that it lacked a bit of flavour. The server was very professional and friendly! I would come back here but to try another item off of the menu.“

“This is usually the place we go to when looking for a quick and good takeout in the area.
Dumplings are always good, either fried or steamed.
Noodles were fine when I tried, and in good quantity.

“Out of all the places I ate in Montreal, this was my FAVOURITE poutine. Squeaky curds, with perfect ratios of cheese to gravy to fries. The portion was generous, you get so much for what you pay. I was more than satisfied after eating here.

The service was friendly, and the space is definitely Instagram-worthy.

I had an oat cappuccino and a pastry. The pastry was solid, but the coffee fell a bit flat, the oat cappuccino could use more flavor and balance.

Still, a lovely place overall. I'd come back to try something else on the menu.“

I started with the tortilla soup, then had the fish tacos and to drink I tried the strawberry Jarritos and a sip of their margarita which I’d have again on a warm day ☀️ Everything was delicious, the staff was patient and courteous. “Returning to an old huant after almost 40 yrs. Still has its charm and and awesome menu and staff. Stopped in for a midweek brunch as we'd been in town to see a show. The plateau and main are the same and yet different than I remember.
Bagel Ect, still a gem! They served up one of the best brunches we've had in Montreal. I ordered the classic Benedictine Eggs Benedict—perfectly poached eggs, rich and velvety hollandaise, all on a fresh, fluffy base. My partner had the Romanov, a version with lox, which was equally delicious—the smoked salmon was silky and flavorful without overpowering the dish. A special shoutout to their sautéed potatoes—crispy, well-seasoned, and the ideal companion to our meals. Cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and food done right. Forgot to mention, thier latte are perfect...Highly recommended!“
