“Spent a couple hours here waiting for our flight. The trout with crab meat was excellent, fries were very good, but the shrimp cocktail was extremely mediocre. The shrimp was over boiled, chewy, and had clearly been boiled in water that was waaaay too salty. But: drinks were good, service was pleasant. They did have chargers at our booth, which is always appreciated.“

“I came for rush hour. Staff was amazing. Wings were great & spicyyyyyyy (mango habernera and southern bbq) frozen drinks were great as well. Parking is great,; corner building with its own parking. Waiting is average- not too long & not too quick. Overall, 5/5. HAPPR “

“Got the fish with the shrimp and I must say the food was A1. This is not a fast food joint. You gone wait for your food. But it’s definitely worth it. Kinda expensive but what’s not high these days with inflation. But you get what you pay for. I order a 2 piece and couldn’t even eat it all. Sat in my car and ate it due to be from across town and I wanted to eat it fresh. If I’m ever on this side of town again with my wife I’ll def stop by. Just hate we can’t dine in. Other than that I recommend“

“Consistently good service and great food. I have been to this location numerous times and overall it is always an enjoyable visit. We started our meal with the calamari appetizer. Calamari is well cooked and the dips it is accompanied by complement the flavors well. For my meal I had the salmon entree with crawfish tails and shrimp. The sauce this entree comes with is the star of the dish. The salmon was cooked well, but the portion size seemed off and smaller than a normal entree at most locations. The green beans side is fairly bland, unless you mix with the sauce on the plate. Service was on point and I never had to wait for a drink. Great spot to grab a bite before a flight. Highly recommend!“

“Very, very good fried catfish and hush puppies - far beyond the norm for that sort of food in this part of the state. Fun decorational gimmicks (wall of donated Big Mouth Billy Bass toys, framed photos of customers and the fish they've caught, etc). Highly recommend.“

“The food always knocks my socks off - I can even compare it to some of the best seafood I’ve had in NOLA. The food is pricy so be prepared to spend a bit more than your usual seafood outing. But the dining experience is intuitive from the sinks just for handwashing near the bathrooms to wet wipes when the check comes around. There will be a mess!“

“The atmosphere is very nice. Great date nite spot. Food was excellent. I had the crab cakes and the boudain. My hubby had the dirty rice w salmon. Everything was seasoned well and very tasty. It definitely had a La. Cajun /creole vibe. I highly recommend this restaurant.“

“Eating here is an absolute pleasure. I came with friends, and we had the shrimp etouffee, seafood combo basket, fried chicken basket, and the beignets. The portions were huge and filling, and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. The shrimp etouffee was rich, well spiced, and generous with the shrimp; the fried baskets were fresh and not greasy; and the beignets were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. You can really tell that the awesome chef/owner has spent almost half of his life in New Orleans from how it tastes. It's really properly home cooked food, and was well worth the drive from UTD. I highly recommend anyone looking for proper authentic Cajun food go here.“

“They had Louisana Hot Sauce, so they start off with 4 stars just for that. The boudin balls were delicious. I could have done without the mustard sauce, but I guess it depends on your preference. It was my first time having gumbo, and it was ??. In the event my wife gets sick, she wants me to come get her gumbo from here. She is aware that we live 25 minutes away. She said it's that good. Fish was crispy, hot, and fresh. This is a nice spot to check out!!“

“Every time we travel for my son’s athletic events, we looks for local restaurants and found this one. This place didn’t disappoint. The fried shrimp was cooked perfectly. The gumbo was amazing. The red beans and rice were top 3 all time. We’ll definitely be back.“

“Absolutely amazing. For a seafood place this has the best sweet potato fries and chicken I have ever tasted. For the seafood the sausage is nothing close to you have ever tasted before. I have no complaints with the fast service, good sweet tea, and great atmosphere“

“Came here for Valentines day with my kids. Food is always on point. We get the King Crab legs with Shazam Sauce. Its spicy but delicious. A dozen of the charbroiled oysters. I will say it's a bit pricey but a good treat. Servers seems overwhelmed and short but staffing is not their fault. I reccomend visiting.“

“I really love this place. The lunch special never fails! It’s amazing!!! The wings are so bomb!!!!! And for 8.00 you just can’t beat this lunch! The staff is so extremely kind, the girls who work the front are always so sweet and just nice, which is odd for a food place tbh. Y’all should let them take credit card tips because they deserve any extra dollar that goes to them!!!“

“1st time stopping by & Im glad I did. Sharla took my order she was courteous sweet and gave me a tip. Add bacon to my Phat mushroom & onion burger. Amazing! I also got a Phat bacon cheeseburger for my son. We both agree they are delicious homemade tasting burgers. Juicy, fresh and filling. Thank you Sharla you did that!“
“When in season, this place has some of the BEST crawfish in the metroplex at an affordable price. I usually get the extra spicy garlic. This spice is quite flavorful. The service is usually fast and friendly. The ambiance is plain. There is not much to view. Most people that don't live nearby order and take-out. If you like crawfish you must try this place when they are in season. Enjoy.“

“My wife and I visited The Free Man Cajun Bar and Lounge today, and we were blown away by the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. We started with the Boudin Balls, which were sausage with rice, breaded, and fried to perfection. At $14.95, it was a great deal for such a tasty appetizer. For our main courses, my wife ordered the Hot Chick, a spicy fried chicken breast served with gravy over rice. It came with a side, so she opted for a salad. The dish was priced at $18.95 and was worth every penny. I tried the Crawfish Pasta, which featured crawdads in a rich, creamy sauce over pasta, topped with grilled or blackened chicken. At $28.95, it was a bit pricey, but the flavors were so amazing that I didn't mind. To drink, my wife had a sweet tea that was very southern-like, with a hint of lemon and a surprising berry taste. It was a refreshing complement to our meal. One thing to note is that a 20% gratuity is added to your bill, so be aware of that when dining here. Despite this, we highly recommend The Free Man for anyone looking for delicious Cajun food in a lively atmosphere.“

“I picked up my friend from her job. We went to eat at Rockfish before I took her home. I had never eaten there but I can say the food was great. I had the fried shrimp basket. I would have liked the french fries a little crispier. The jalapeno hush puppies were very good, not too spicy. I like to taste the food, not all the heat, If you know what I mean.Dietary restrictions: The food is, I believe, Cajun based. I have no dietary restrictions, so I did not really look for options.Kid-friendliness: It could be kid friendly. The place has a casual vibe to it.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there is wheelchair accessibility.“
“Owned by Flava Flav, it's hard not to like the amazing Flavas coming from this truck. A mix of seductive Soul Food with Cajun flair, very nice people, very good at recommending things, and the 2 or 3 different dishes we've tried so far have been spectacular. Part of the Food Truck Park on the south side of Westheimer just a little bit West of Hillcroft/Voss, east of Fondren. It's a mostly Mid-Eastern food park with some of the best Iraqi and Turkish food in the entire State. But there are other amazing items on offer here, and Flava is one of them. Deserves nothing short of 5 stars.“

“Aunt Irene's is my guilty pleasure. I spend my cheat days in fried food heaven with no worries in the world and Aunt Irene's always hits that spot. It's a very small place and usually has a line. I order ahead online then pick it up or I doordash it. Service is friendly. I've never had issues with my food. The food is WELL seasoned and flavorful. The crack wings are by far my favorite wings in Dallas. The wing box is a great value, takes me 2 days to finish the whole box by myself. Must try, but don't get addicted and eat it everyday!“

“The atmosphere was relaxed, and the food was fantastic. The customer service was also good. However, there are a few things you should know before you go. Firstly, the parking lot tends to get really crowded, and it's not very spacious. Secondly, the ticket automatically includes a tip, so keep that in mind. Lastly, it can get extremely busy during brunch hours.“
