“Great experience! The chef definitely has years of experience in his craft. The food preparations are a work of art. The flavor combinations are impeccable. The chef explains each dish with great detail, including the process of aging certain fish. The flavor can't be explained. Try it for yourself. We'll deserved Michelin star. Will return.“

“Tonight, my husband and I tried Uchiko for the first time. We had the Okamase. Everything was absolutely delicious. They put so much creativity and detail in every dish. We had a wonderful waitress. I would definitely recommend it.“

“I recently checked out Uroko and had an awesome sushi experience. Their temaki (hand rolls) are made fresh to order, and the 12-course omakase on weekend nights was a highlight — each nigiri was beautifully crafted and full of flavor.
The place feels intimate and well-curated — small seating, a relaxed vibe, and chefs engaging with guests. Staff were great in explaining each dish, and you can tell they care about top quality ingredients. If you’re into sushi with finesse and heart, this is one to bookmark.“

“I ate here while in town for Afrotech! I started with the Sunomono Salad (Cucumber, green onion, crab stick, octopus, radish sprouts, sesame seeds with ponzu sauce). I then had two rolls: 1. Who’s Your Daddy? (no rice) (Deep fried crab, cooked shrimp, cream cheese with special sauce); 2. I Love Tuna (in: spicy Tuna, cucumber out: Blue fin Tuna, green onion sauce: Garlic ponzu, green onion, masago) EVERYTHING was amazingly good, the staff was very friendly, efficient, and ensured you had a great dining experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!“

“My nine year old daughter's favorite restaurant. She loves their sushi and will order rolls if we are not looking. Takeout was also fairly easy to do. Family from out of town liked it very much as well, enjoying the sashimi and tempura. Will go again!“

“Korean review: really inexpensive and one of the only places in South Austin to get your Korean food fix. I know other reviews had some service problems but experienced NONE of that. Greeted immediately when walking in, we picked our seats and had multiple staff during our hour and a half stay check up on us even with a crowd of others arriving after us. We got the Kimbap appetizer split it for two (was delicious didn't need anything else like a sauce - perfect on it's own!). I got the beef bulgogi and my friend got the Rock Bibimbap with spicy pork (like regular Bibimbap but in a hot pot!). YALL LEMME TELL YOU THIS WAS SO GOOD. I was having an emotional experience with these flavors. Banchan selection was good too. Got 6 of them and one of them kimchi. I'll be back for take out and eventually try out the Japanese and Sushi portion of the menu.“

“this is one of the first restaurants I went to in Austin. 5 years ago and its still a favorite. love the vibe, it's never too busy, the food is delicious and the owners are nice. Today my pregnancy baby brain kicked in and I forgot my purse there and didn't notice for over 2 hours, they set it aside for me at their reserved table so no one would take it. Love drunk fish ❤❤“

“First visit here, and the food was amazin…..seriously delicious.
That said, many of the employees were taking shots during my visit, which made the service feel unprofessional and inconsistent. As someone who’s worked as a server in the past, I’d hate to see such a good restaurant’s reputation affected by lapses in professionalism.
I’d still return for the food, but hope management keeps an eye on maintaining proper standards.“

“The food was good and the presentation was clean and creative. The sashimi and nigiri pieces were quite large—I ended up cutting them into bite-sized pieces with my chopsticks. The handrolls were a good size and easy to eat. The menu doesn’t offer much variety, but now I know: if I want more options, I’ll just go elsewhere. Still, a solid spot if you know what to expect.“

“It is a privilege to be sitting across from Chef Mike, who has absolutely destroyed my sushi-eating experience for other restaurants. I'm ruined for life! I've been to Craft, Toshokan, Sushi Bar, Otoko, Endo, and most other not omakase-specific restaurants (like Uchi, Tomo...), but nobody makes sushi the way Chef Mike does because his rice is special and served warm. The two super-nice people you see make up 100% of the staff. They don't even have a dishwasher. And did you know you're not even allowed to tip on the alcohol because they just want their customers to be happy? As a result, the best omakase in Austin, #18 most exclusive restaurant in the world, is also one of the cheapest! That's seriously insane.“

“Very good bento box! I had the beef bulgogi and kiddo had the chicken teriyaki. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared. It was a good value with 2 pieces of nigiri in addition to the typical Cali roll, tempura veggies, soup, salad, rice, veggies, and gyoza. We will be back!“

“Absolute favorite sushi spot in Austin! I’m vegetarian and the tofu roll is amazing! Corn cheese and veggie tempura appetizers are also delicious. My friends love the fish rolls and the poke bowls which are so fresh and full of toppings. Super laid back place, family type service and so enjoyable to eat at. Suuuper fair prices as well! Highly highly recommend.“

“I am unsure why this place isn't super busy. The people are so nice and the place is owned by the same people that own fat Dragon Chinese. The food is really good, pretty good quality for really reasonable pricing and really cute decorations ♡ my husband and I came here for a date night and the food was yummy .“

For 14 people we ordered fried rice, noodles, tuna sando tray, and 3 trays of sushi and it was A TON of food! More than we needed but happy to have left overs :)“

“My wife and I discovered this place years ago in search of ramen and ever since then we rarely go any other place to get our fix. This small little place may be tight, but the atmosphere and the food make it all worth the experience and taste you get from this place. The people here are all just ever so delightful to interact with and it's truly a hidden gem that is getting the recognition it deserves. 10/5 would recommend if you're starting a ramen search“

“Only next level Japanese dining enthusiasts would be able to immediately recognize that they have chosen well. If you are lucky enough to discover the Happy Hour menu then you’ve hit the jackpot. Do yourself a favor and go because ain’t nobody have dry aged fish! What?!? Yes this separates Lucky Robot from the rest of the Japanese places in Austin. Put it on the bucket list folks!“

“Great chain grocery store, we visit every time we come to Austin, fantastic range of fresh and dry products. Could spend hours here on a hot day just wandering around checking out the displays. Cannot wait to visit again. TIP: This is Texas so remember to buy your wine before Sunday. If you’ve found this review helpful, I would appreciate a thumbs up below.“
“This restaurant is located in a Whole Foods Market. Right next to the fruit station. Most people come here in search of the freshest and most high quality ingredients in their city. So what’s the deal with the sushi place? ? I got Salmon Teriyaki Bowl, it was $15.49 & delicious. Dodged the veggies, not there’s anything wrong with them, I’m just scared of vegetables. Overall, I can see this becoming a more frequent lunch for me in a pinch, Especially if they put JOYRIDE in the Candy Section! ?“

“I would like to respectfully start with; I’ve been to Uchi multiple times over the years and will never forget my first experience (which will always be the best in my mind.) That being said — tonight might have been the closest to first I’ve ever had. Chance, our server was attentive, knowledgeable, easy going, brought some of the best plates when we asked “bring us what you like/anything you think we missed” literally 12/10 would recommend. Ask for Chance, he knows his shiiiiiiii* and made our night absolutely amazing and something we will never forget!“
