“I tried Smith’s BBQ for the first time today and it’s a bit of a mixed review. I had the four meat sampler (brisket, ribs, sausage and chicken) with green beans and baked beans. The ribs were good but not memorable and the brisket was a bit chewy BUT, the sausage and chicken were EXCELLENT. The baked beans were simple but perfect. They reminded me of a family picnic. In my opinion, the green beans were OUTSTANDING and the star of the show. Very unique flavor that hit the taste buds like WOW! I’ll definitely go back for double chicken with green beans and baked beans!“

Two people could easily share this! And while sometimes restaurants will serve up large portions to make up for quality, that’s not the case here. The brisket was excellent and the potato was cooked to perfection. The ribs were perfectly done as well. Very flavorful and juicy. We also had the Mac Daddy sandwich. Another excellent choice. Brisket and mac and cheese on a grilled cheese. So tasty! The food and service were both excellent! You won’t be disappointed!“

“I ordered a full chicken for pickup and it was ready quickly. I really appreciated that it came already cut, which felt like a nice extra touch. The chicken was very tender and moist, and overall I really liked it. I would give it 5 out of 5, but there was an excessive amount of black pepper, which I personally do not like at all, not even a little. It would be great to have an option for people who do not enjoy spicy or heavily seasoned food. Aside from that, everything was great. I will try the BBQ next time and hopefully it is not spicy.“

We finally tried it and Holy Smokin' beef cheeks, Batman. The service is good and the people friendly. The barbacoa is super tender, flavorful and moist, without being greasy. It comes with whole avocados, pico de gallo, your choice of flour or corn tortillas. If you order flour you're doing it wrong. You can optionally get it with the requisite beverage, Big Red. If you order any other drink, you lose your Texican card. It doesn't matter if you hate Big Red as I do. Go Big Red or go home. It has all the ambience of being broken down in your car on the side of a busy highway intersection, which of course is exactly the ambience it should have. “Always take your receipt , yesterday me and my hubby went there for lunch , we paid , I did a custom tip and didn’t take a receipt , well now today when checking my bank account my waitress took the liberty to tip herself an extra $15 but of course since I didn’t take the receipt I can’t dispute it , so if you’re gonna eat there always take your receipt but overall the food is good“

“The soft drinks have too much carbonation which decreases the taste. Also a waste of resources as all the bubbles flow into the drain while waiting for the drink to fill the cup. Also, there is often a wait at the kiosk while people continue to look for items and the kiosk at the front is seldom open.“

“True Texas is the best barbq chain in Texas. I have been well over a dozen times to 6 locations across texas. They are all 100 percent on point and very good. HEB has cracked the code on brisket and unapologetically dunked in the face of most bbq establishments. The brisket has never been bad. The only thing I wish they would improve upon is the mac'n cheese and the price of the beef rib. There is way a better family sized HEB brand mac'n cheese on the shelf for 1/5th the price. Those two items are not worth it at all. I have recommended this place to all my family and friends.“

Only slight ding is that I am one who enjoys a seasoned rib that doesn't need sauce, while tender this beast was a bit under seasoned so I needed some sauce to enhance the flavor. Definitely not a showstopper as I know a few who prefer it this way. Definitely worth a return visit.“
