“Honestly one of my favourite steakhouses and if you have Dayton as your server, you’re in for a treat :) super friendly and very respectful”
“Love this place! The food is awesome and I absolutely love Chelsea the bartender she Is extremely friendly and very attentive to the customers. I would highly recommend this place.”
“Really enjoyed our meal there this last Saturday. When I attended college at SWT back in the '80's this was the high end go to place...especially for parent visiting from out of town. Now I am the parent as we visited for a Sigma Chi reunion and to show my HS senior step son the campus. It felt good and JORDAN, our waitress was OUTSTANDING. It felt good being there.”
“This was one of the most amazing gems of a brewery I have ever stepped foot in. Please please try the smoked lager if you are a fan of mezcal you will LOVE this beer. The food is spectacular, there are books to read and outdoor spaces to enjoy. The staff is willing to stop and chat about beer,I didnt want to leave!!!! Please check it out for yourself and thank me later. Have the perky turkey sandwich.”
“The food was AMAZING. The service was also wonderful- very attentive and answered my questions kindly. I ordered the dumpling appetizer and banh-mi sandwich with pork and my friend had the fried rice plate. We were both very pleased with the food and said we would come back. Highly recommend!”

“Easily one of my favorite spots in San Marcos
Balcón Comedor y Bar totally blew me away. The vibe is chill but stylish — great music, great energy, and the kind of place you could post up for hours with friends and a couple of margaritas.
We started with the carne asada fries and elote asado, and honestly… they might be the best I’ve had. The fries were loaded (in the best way) and the elote had the perfect balance of spice, lime, and cheese. Just unreal.
I went with the al pastor taco and the Cali Burrito — and wow. The burrito was massive, cheesy, and packed with carne asada and fries inside (basically everything you crave at once). The taco had just the right kick, with a sweet touch from the pineapple. You can tell they put real love into every dish.
What really made the night was Javier, the owner — he came by to check on us, and you could tell how much he cares about the food and the people. Super genuine guy, and that vibe trickles down to the whole staff.
If you’re in San Marcos and love modern Mexican food, this place is a must. Great drinks, amazing food, and a team that actually makes you feel welcome. Can’t wait to go back.
Tip: Come hungry. You’re gonna want to try everything.”

“Recently went to Twin Peaks and had one of the best experiences with my waitress Deasiah. She made sure my family had great understanding of the menu items and suggested some favorites since it was our first time, not only that but she ensured all meals were okay and was very patient with us since we sent back orders to be heated more than once. But overall the food was very tasty but not well heated, I would definitely try it again.”

“We were one of the first group of residents to try Tarbox & Brown with our SPARK group. The atmosphere, the food and service was amazing. Five stars! Congratulations to Chef Chanel! 🍾🥂👩🏻🍳”
“They serve great beer that is made in house. I think it's the best brewery in the San Marcos area. Indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Drink the beer there or take it to go. Go check them out! They also have special events.”

“Great first time experience. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the country fried top sirloin with mashed potatoes, scratch baked BBQ beans with brisket and a house salad. Everything was made well. The beans were pretty good, a little spicy but I like spice. Not so much where it's uncomfortable but just enough to give it a nice flavor. The atmosphere was pretty good. Not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a good meal and a nice conversation with family and friends. There wasn't a long wait and we went around 2pm. They pretty much got us seated as soon as we walked in with a party of 5. I definitely recommend eating here. We didn't pay the bill this time around but from the menu prices range between $15-$30.”
“My daughter and I had lunch and were very pleased with the atmosphere, service, selection and quality of the food. Our dishes came out quickly and the price seemed to be a great value for the food we recieved. Our server, Aiden, was very attentive but not intrusive. Overall, a great lunch! We will be back. A refreshing find.”
“Hubby and I went for dinner and the environment was very welcoming and so were the staff. Julius was our waiter and he was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Not only did he make great menu recommendations, he fixed our bill to reflect their Happy Hour half off prices!!! Things to try… Fried Mushrooms - A MUST!!! If you like spicy - the stuffed/fried jalapeños Caesar salad - AMAZING (with fresh pepper) Cajun ribeye - Yummy Fried shrimp - OMGEESH Brussel sprouts - Must try Even the bread with fresh honey butter was great!!! 10/10 will return again and again!!!”
“The best part of our dinner was our service . Our server was Madelyn Murphy. She was Amazing!!! Our drinks were ALWAYS full, breadsticks ALWAYS fresh, and questions answered right away!! My Trio left a lot to be desired. The Lasagna was burned, Alfredo was as dry as saw dust and the Chicken Parm was cold. Though I was very disappointed at the food, our service was top notch !!
Forget the fact that I am an Air Force/Desert Storm veteran/Senior Citizen, OG does not offer ANY senior/mikitsry benefits. And that is OG prerogative, but if I am going to pay $80+ for 3 people, I would like my food hot !! I PROMISE this, I will think twice, before I select Olive Garden the next time I eat out !!”
“My husband and I took our daughter today. The moment we walked in we absolutely loved it. It’s so cute! The food was delicious! We had wonderful service. We are definitely coming back. I’d 10000% recommend this place!”
“They are so accommodating that Buddy the bartender will even take a bath in your martini. It’s true”

“A huge THANK YOU to ?Gloria, Laurie? Gorgeous lady who helped me choose what to eat. I was experiencing a low blood sugar problem and decision making isnt my strength when I'm down and out- THANK YOU GIRL YOU MADE MY DAY!!! Got beef Fajita tacos and they were delicious and instantly helped my condition! Thank you so much this was a fantastic first experience at Laredo Taco!”
“Typical jack in the box They have decent food for a fast food place. They serve breakfast all day long. They had a little bit of trouble with their drive-through speaker. Friendly staff, eager and enthusiastic. You don't see that very many times at fast food places anymore.”
“Isabella was a fantastic waitress!! She brought a lot of energy to our family today as we celebrated our son’s 21st birthday! Thank you Isabella for the great service, always smiling, and the recommendation on our food order!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ service!”

“I've been here many times over the years. I think this is, by far, the best Thai food in San Marcos. The food is always fresh and flavorful. On my most recent visit I got the yellow curry with veggies to go. The veggies were nice and fresh. What a great healthy meal!”
“San Marcos has a great place that you have to know, it is aboutt Rizz pies & coffer with wonderful people whom we met today, they prepare pizzas and shared their experience about preparing their own dough to make pizza, really interesting, go and visit them, try their delicious preparations”
“We just had our Jack C. Hays High School 50th Reunion at Ivar's River Pub, Saturday, Oct 4th, 11am-2pm. It was an amazing gathering; the outdoor venue incomparable because of the gem of the San Marcos River view, the drinks and food delicious, the service great, and working with Denele Gunnarson, VP of Ivar's was refreshing. Thank you Denele and Ivar's River Pub for helping make our 50th Reunion so memorable! The 'spirit' of Ivar Gunnarson and his legacy is alive and well on the beautiful banks of the San Marcos River. Gerrel Williams, Chair of the 50th and Marieta Hutchison, 1975 Hays H.S. Class President.”
“I LOVE this place. Like, borderline obsession. I love smoothies. I love cheap. Put them together? Boom, you got Smoothie Warriors.
They use high-quality ingredients, and everything’s made to order, so you know it’s fresh and not just some mystery blend that’s been chilling in a fridge since Tuesday. They even have wheatgrass shots if you’re feeling extra healthy.
Pro tip: they’ve got a daily special where you can snag a smoothie for just $3, but you gotta play your cards right. It’s like a fruity treasure hunt, and yes, it’s worth it.
This is hands-down my #1 smoothie spot in San Mo. The COCO LOCO is my tropical escape, and the Stomach Soother is basically a hug for your insides. Highly recommend both, unless you get there before me and they run out.”
“We have visited this location annually specifically for a beef rib and it never disappoints. The brisket and smoked chicken are always good. The sides are always good. Restaurant and bathrooms are always clean. In addition, besides good food the young men working the counter are always friendly and go above and beyond. Great staff.”
“Female owned and operated, these two women are amazing! They sell hot coffee, cold coffee, COFFEE SODA, as well as high quality beans that they themselves roast, with so much love and skill, you can taste it in every sip! I am a dark roast kind of girl, got it from my daddy. And so far their Guatemala Dark is my FAVORITE! The Rwanda dark is very flavorful too, I just brew it so strong that it comes out too dark for me 🤣💀”

“I recently began visiting The Native Blends for my matcha lattes, and they are the best I've ever tasted. Unlike many coffee and smoothie places, their lattes are organic and unsweetened. The menu features a fantastic selection of healthy bowls, beverages, and smoothies. Additionally, Bella the Baker offers a variety of organic baked goods that I've tried and found consistently delicious. I highly recommend stopping by this fantastic spot in downtown San Marcos!”
“Lampost catered a coffee cart for my daughters's wedding and it was the best decision we made! From signature bride & groom brews to a menu of delicious coffee choices, our guests were kept caffeinated and happy! Their communication was superior and I recommend them for all special events.”
“I was in town for work and popped in around 5 in the evening. Chill place, older crowd in the day time on a Tuesday, so do with that what you will. Don't have any further experience but I did meet some locals that invited me to chill next time I'm in town. Mature crowd when I went, plenty of other places to choose from if you are not feeling it. I'd say give it a try!”
“I have to say the restaurant was off the chain! The food was superb and extremely reasonable prices.. We need to give a shout out to our waitress Kiley who was Magnificent. She is definitely 5 star restaurant quality. We have been to very upscale restaurants and not had half of the amazing service she provided. When you go ask for Kiley!!”
“Where to Start! :) Tears down my face! this lovely family was a vendor at my autism sensitive santa today in New Braunfels, TX! I say that god puts people in front of us for good reasons :) he did that just tonight! The owner Rescued me from my cater person who brought in burnt non edible food! he offered to send his family to heb with $40 from us to get chicken to make dinner! he served chicken and french fries that were delicious❤️thank you Martys kitchen we lover you❤️❤️”
Cheap Eats
“It’s over all a good place, the food is good and the people are nice however my biggest concern is they do not update the price of foods online to reflect the in house menu. For example the “super taco” used to be 4.99 and it still reflects that online however after the most recent visit there the price has gone up to 10 dollars with tax. Other than that a great place.”
“We ordered the emporium (hence the name is from the emporium piercing & tattoo center down the road) and the bee stinger. The drinks were very good, better than other local coffee shops I’ve had. I will say the emporium was a bit too sweet for my tasting but very good! We also ordered the cherry orange? Muffin which my picky toddler age (it was pretty sweet as well, sweeter than a blueberry muffin)
The restroom also was pretty clean, had a changing table with some diapers and pads in the baskets as well which is great for anyone who forgot something that day!
The last time I was here was about 6-7 years ago as well; I can’t wait for their fall menu to come back!”
“Food was good, everyone was nice
But it was pretty pricey for the three of us , including 3 drinks we walked out paying $55.00 for are oder. We ordered 2 breakfast tacos
5 street tacos and 1 LG bean and cheese burrito with potatoes.. 2 Pepsi and 1 sweet tea. Drinks were 3.25 each including the refill ($15) I never thought about having to pay for a refill if there asking if we wanted one.SMH.I did enjoy the food .”
“First time here and I will definitely be coming back! Tried the chocolate banana smoothie 🤤 it was delicious as well as the panini club sandwich. Couldn't leave without desert and I'm glad I tried the m&m chocolate chip cookie and raspberry cream cheese croissant they were very good. If u are thinking of trying this place you definitely should!!!”
“We had a delicious brunch on the patio today. We really enjoyed the avocado toast Benedict, which featured a perfectly poached egg. We also really enjoyed the pancake, which was huge! Best of all, they have a dog friendly patio with plenty of shade.”
“Dumplings - classic dumplings and were delicious!!! Wonton soup has a unique twist (roasted garlic slivers). I enjoyed beef lo mein, the sauce was on the sweet side which I’m not accustomed to and there were only slivers of carrots and not any other veggies. (Not accustomed too). I added chili sauce and it helped it become balanced. Spicy yellow tail rolls were delicious! General Saus chicken was very good too. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Menu is presented very nicely with thick pages. (I wish there was more description.”
“Harpers has reached out, corrected their policy and apologized for not allowing my daughters service dog to enter their establishment. I applaud their ability to learn, retrain and apologize for their mistakes.”
“Dayton is hands-down the best server I’ve ever had at Kobe’s. Will be back to see him if he’s not there I’ll be going to McAllister‘s deli.”

“I had my first sub a 12 inch and I'm telling you it was so filling and very tasteful and loaded. I have never tasted a sub as good as this one and will certainly go back and either try another sub or sandwich or anything else they have their. My grandson loved their Mac and cheese for sure. My hubby enjoyed his side dish of tomatoes and cucumbers very fresh and tasty too!. The 12 inch sub was a little too much for us but it were super great and will not go to waste for I will continue to eat up the remainder of it. I'll need to try their Carrot Cake next visit and believe me there will be many from now on. Thank You McAllister the employees were very nice and quickly to do orders. Got a little busy but they all worked together to serve customers as quick as possible. Thank you again, I went to the one by the KOBE Restaurant in San Marcos. Excellent choice!”

“Fantastic food, superb service and pocket friendly prices, what more can you ask for? I had a coupon and decided to try the fried chicken. The beautiful and courteous woman informed me that it is made from scratch so it would be a while. No problem, as I was waiting I almost ordered a breakfast sandwich for the next day because a gentleman was smacking on a juicy one at a table. Nevertheless, I went outside to talk on the phone and the cook came to apologize about the time (but it had only been 20 minutes). She offered me an absolutely delicious mouth water brisket sandwich with the bread toasted to perfection. It was so good, I almost forgot about the sauce and it was good too! I scarfed it down and had some succulent catfish too…MMMM! The ladies were so professional, friendly, and delightful you need to zip on down to Zippliners!”

“First time here. Honestly was kind of iffy reading some of the reviews, but I gave it a shot anyway. Everything turned out fine. Wings were warm and well sauced. Courteous staff. Fairly quick service. I got the vampire killer, buffalo hot, and the bakers son? Or something along those lines. I've learned my heat tolerance is a bit high and I need even spicier wings which they do offer. Overall experience was worth giving this place a chance if you haven't been yet”

“Tried out our new Greek restaurant off of common & 306 yesterday . Loved it! Lots of delicious choices, including vegan/vegetarian options. Nice, bright dining area, with additional seating outside. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I’ll definitely be back!”
“Wineaux is just getting started, but I've already stopped in several times, as It is an absolute pleasure every time. I've chatted a bunch with Peggy, I've also met Mike and Rutherford, and they're all so knowledgeable and just lovely to be around. Peggy often plays silent films on a screen, as well as lovely music. I love that I'm able to find wine here that I can't find anywhere else, as well as chat and get proper recommendations from actual Sommeliers. It's an absolute pleasure. I'm only hesitant to recommend it because I don't want them to get too crowded for my own selfish reasons, but I also want them to do well here, because they are so wonderful, so I have to highly recommend them. Just leave room for me at the bar, please. ☺️🥂”
