I am a dark roast kind of girl, got it from my daddy. And so far their Guatemala Dark is my FAVORITE! The Rwanda dark is very flavorful too, I just brew it so strong that it comes out too dark for me 🤣💀”

My hubby was raving about the Firefly squid and Hokkaido uni - both which are extremely rare to procure and execute.

Flavor profiles were stronger in nigiri than the rolls in our opinion. However, we’re biased since we gravitate towards nigiri and sashimi more. The chutoro and otoro were good as well, nice scoring skills - melts in your mouth butter type. Oysters were on point too and dressed well. It’s refreshing to have quality seafood here in Texas. Give them a try!”

“Food was absolutely delicious. The beans and rice were actually great, and I seldom say that. The mole was also pretty good. My family enjoyed their tacos, pancakes, and enchiladas, and the chips and salsa were great.

Our server, Jasmine, looked like maybe she wasn’t having her best day. She didn’t seem to have many other tables that we could see, but we still had to ask for refills of drinks from other servers. Once the food came out, she disappeared.

But despite the off service, the food was def good enough to go back again.”

The beautiful and courteous woman informed me that it is made from scratch so it would be a while. No problem, as I was waiting I almost ordered a breakfast sandwich for the next day because a gentleman was smacking on a juicy one at a table. Nevertheless, I went outside to talk on the phone and the cook came to apologize about the time (but it had only been 20 minutes). She offered me an absolutely delicious mouth water brisket sandwich with the bread toasted to perfection. It was so good, I almost forgot about the sauce and it was good too! I scarfed it down and had some succulent catfish too…MMMM! The ladies were so professional, friendly, and delightful you need to zip on down to Zippliners!”

This was my first time there, and I mentioned that to the girl at the counter. She didn't respond. Usually, at other places, they will say, Welcome in and give suggestions or ask if you have questions. The lamba latte was great. The brownie was good, but I didn't realize it was going to be cold. I think had it been room temp or warmed up, it would have been even better. I will gladly stop by again the next time I'm in the area. Hopefully, the girl at the counter will be someone a little more friendly. The music and atmosphere otherwise are fantastic.”

I also attend a Craft Night with a group of ladies there on Vinyl Night. I love getting to share music I enjoy and hear what vinyl others have collected. Def the coolest bar in San Marcos that attracts similar funky folks around town, offering a space to find community and have nice THC seltzers or local craft beers, ciders and meads. The lavender mead is my favorite! You can also bring your own food which is a plus. :)”

“I really liked it. I got the panini smoothie lunch combo. The peanut butter chocolate smoothie was light and refreshing, especially compared to a shake. I added avocado to the frullati fantástico panini and it paired beautifully with the chipotle ranch. The tres leches cake wasn’t the best and the cake itself was a little stiff, but the flavor was nice. David served me and was very polite and helpful. Definitely a good lunch deal. Fresh alternative if you’re not in the mood for heavier or fried food. Spacious and relatively accessible.”

I had ordered Mongolian beef and it comes with crispy noodles. I did see the option where you could get rice, or noodles. I opted for noodles in sauce. I had wondered why my meal was over $20. I also ordered Lemongrass dumplings. They were good, but not sure they were worth the $8 price, not to mention my meal was over $20. The service was amazing when I picked up my food and it was immediately ready to go. The food was fantastic. Other than a bit over priced, it was probably one of the better Asian places I had been to. My did not like his General Tso's Chicken, but overall I was impressed.

I will definitely have to give this place another shot. Now that I know how the menu works, I probably would not go and order another side of noodles, being that my meal comes with it. If you are considering trying this place, I would definitely go. You will not be disappointed.”

Chorizo bean and cheese was decent, chorizo is ok, the beans are pretty good. Beans and cheese was good, better than some others I’ve eaten in town. Tortillas are good also, homemade and soft. The salsa is good, tomato jalapeño base, like my grandma made. I’d like to see an agua Fresca or two. Will be returning asap”

When I got the tea and took the first sip….. I could tell it was not sugar free. I asked them if it was sugar free and another girl came from the back and said we used unsweetened tea but when you add flavors, they are sweetened. It was so sweet, I could not drink it! So, just so everyone knows, sugar free doesn’t always mean sugar free.”

Overall, I would recommend Mariscos La Fonda for the soup and great service, but I hope to see improvements in the oysters and cleanliness on my next visit.”

“I had my first sub a 12 inch and I'm telling you it was so filling and very tasteful and loaded. I have never tasted a sub as good as this one and will certainly go back and either try another sub or sandwich or anything else they have their. My grandson loved their Mac and cheese for sure. My hubby enjoyed his side dish of tomatoes and cucumbers very fresh and tasty too!. The 12 inch sub was a little too much for us but it were super great and will not go to waste for I will continue to eat up the remainder of it. I'll need to try their Carrot Cake next visit and believe me there will be many from now on. Thank You McAllister the employees were very nice and quickly to do orders.
