“The peppery pork belly and chicken soup is rich, rich in ingredients and has a high Cp value. The salty crispy chicken is juicy and fragrant. The waiter Yvonne sincerely recommends it. The service is super great!!!

“I ordered the signature malatang with less spice, and my friend ordered the sesame sauce spicy dry mix. I already had high expectations because some of my friends told me this is the number one malatang place.
It really hit the spot!! So delicious. The soup had rich umami flavor and paired well with all the ingredients. The spice level was just right for me since my stomach is usually too weak to handle spiciness.
I also tried some of my friend’s dish. She chose medium spicy. It was actually too hot for me, but still very tasty. Spiciness is very personal, so I recommend starting with your own comfortable level and then adjusting the spice level on your next visit. (Anyway, you’ll definitely come back!! ;))
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even more pleasant.
Also, the restaurant looked much more hygienic than other malatang places. Please keep up this great quality 🙏
The only thing I’d suggest improving is the meat container. It looked a little empty, and since the meat was rolled up, it was hard to tell how much I was actually getting.“

“The food here is surprisingly good. Stars taken away because the place smells old. The lady waiting on us was very helpful in her recommendations. We had the Dan-Dan noodle(peanut sauce), Xiao Long Bao, wonton in chilli oil and my nephew had some kind of the chicken broth noodle which was so-so. But the rest were all good.“

“Really enjoyed this restaurant! I appreciate the unlimited rice (only for those dining in) and thought the meal was very delicious.
We opted for no spice, but I definitely want to come back again for the spicy version. Would recommend!“

“OH MY✳️❤️????✅️. LOVE THIS recent restaurant discovery!! We have never had "Hunan cuisine" before-all of most others-but THIS was VERY SPECIAL- AND very TASTY ‼️✅️??. We have now had several excellent dishes. We had wonton soup-incredible darker broth- amazing - and the flavour of their wonton dumplings is excellent. We wanted MORE and have NEVER in all our years had those dumplings tasting like their's do ??!! We had their ginger, chicken, and green onion soup-??Amazing broth again, refreshing-truly- and, it left us all wanting it AGAIN‼️I CANNOT say enough about this place✅️✅️✅️- their chef ✅️✅️✅️and this Hunan style of food and spicing, etc.❗️We have also had their wonderful smoked pork house rice, the sour shredded potatoes and peppers, spicy cabbage, green onion pancakes, beef broccoli, etc. ( "Mild" is still fairly HOT here?-so unless you can take heat- ask for "?BABY heat???") PLEASE try for yourself! WE ARE going back for more to sample. You WON'T likely be disappointed! It is not a large restaurant, and they have delivery. It IS very clean, large menu choices, and the servers are so nice! Prices are very fair and comparable. They have dim sum items as well!???“

“I came here for lunch and was warmly greeted by the cashier and owner. They were both so helpful in explaining how to build my own Chinese poke bowl. Bowls start at only $12.88 and you choose a protein, base, sauce and 3 sides. I tried shrimp with thick noodles, dragon sauce and 3 veggie sides. The noodles were chewy and the sauce added a nice kick to it. I also tried the chicken curry over brown rice. I enjoyed the curry, next time I'm going to try their curry brisket over noodles.
They also have bubble tea! I tried mango milk tea with pearls and lychee black tea with coconut jelly. Both drinks were refreshing with a fruity taste and I liked that they weren't too sweet.“

“Chaoshou (Sichuan-style wonton) is authentic and perfectly spiced, portion is large, but the pork intestines have a weird sour taste and rubber-like texture. Food safety is a concern, but hey it's the crystal food court, don't expect too much.“

“Absolutely a hidden gem! Don’t be fooled by its cover, the food here truly stands out in the area. My husband and I come often, and every dish is freshly cooked, sizzling hot, and full of flavor. My husband loves dishes made with organ meats, and they’re always cleaned perfectly and taste amazing. The owner is incredibly warm and attentive. Sometimes they get super busy because it’s that popular, but it never takes away from how delicious the food is!“

“I actually only ordered from them for the first time a few days ago, The lady said I shouldn't order Ginger beef with Lemon Chicken so I got Mongolian beef instead that time. The food was definately good enough to order again. Good food reasonable prices. But they make mistakes. I ordered Sweet and Sour pork, GINGER beef and Chicken Chow Mein. They sent Sweet and sour pork, SWEET AND SOUR BEEF, and Chicken Chow Mein. Why would anyone order two Sweet and sour. A little upsetting. I don't want to read too much into it, but it sort of feels like she's trying to teach me lesson.“

“I was craving Chinese food this past weekend thought I would give this place a try. As I do eat gluten free I was glad to hear that this place offers gluten free options for some of my favourite dishes. I was very pleased with the taste of the food, presentation, portion and price. I will recommend this place to people if they have not tried it yet!
Our order consisted of Crispy ginger beef, spicy garlic prawns and BBQ pork fried rice.“

“This was my first time trying potato noodles, and I really enjoyed the chewy texture! I went with medium spiciness, which was perfectly spicy without upsetting my stomach. It was so good I ordered takeout a few days later, and it tasted just as good as dining in with the claypot.“

“I am back from Toronto and visiting with family. We were looking for a good rice noodle restaurant to try. We found this based off of reviews and it was very good. It was Sunday 12 noon and we were able to get a table for 5; no wait. We had BBQ pork rice rolls, pork congee, curry fish balls and deep fried donuts. The food was tasty and fresh. The price was very reasonable. I would return here on my next visit back here.“

“A classic Chinese restaurant. The menu has plenty to choose from, with food variation and options. Classic, unfussy decor - which is a good thing, in my opinion. The beef rolls are a great idea. Super flavourful and satisfying. Worth a try!“

“We enjoyed our meal at Happy Lamb. I asked for the spiciest broth, although there were lots of peppers it didn’t seem very spicy. Don’t know if extra spicy is an option?? Other than that everything tasted very good and the food seemed fresh and plentiful.“

“Made significant improvements since I first started coming here. Honoured the birthday deal stacked with the student deal. Food was fresh and service was prompt. Restaurant is generally clean. An excellent choice for hot pot and a great late night option. Ideally suited for parties of 4-6 but can accommodate for larger parties. They are quite busy so it might be a good idea to reserve a table“

“A home style cooking restaurant. The dishes are not elegantly plated it is more like what your family would serve at dinner. The combo is decent value, Miso soup or black tea, rice, fried tofu, stir fried Taiwanese cabbage, and a choice of 2 mains. We choose Kung Pao chicken and satay beef. The decor is basic and a bit run down but the service was quick and the food tasted good. Like many Asian businesses in Metro Vancouver, they prefer cash. You can pay with cash or debit card but if you really want to pay with credit there is a 50¢ charge. They will also charge 50¢ for a takeout container.“

“I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 25 years, and it still never disappoints. It’s truly a hidden gem and so underrated — the best Chinese food in Burnaby by far. The lunch special is my favourite! Please keep supporting your local restaurants — places like this are what make the community special.“

“I've been coming here since I was a kid. Always good value and food tastes great. Braised beef brisket hot pot is very tender. If you don't get the black bean sauce for the chow mein, the flavor will be milder. The chow mein noodles are nice and crispy and absorbs the sauce well. I'll continue to come here.
Parking: Can be hard to find parking during the afternoon and early evening“

“Came here bc my family chose it after a family funeral. Food was really good compared to the restaurant Congee Noodle House, which is near where I live. Being vegan [my fams agree too] I think that their Spicy Deep Fried Bean Curd is quite delicious similar to the above restaurant. I would enjoy coming here again if in the neighbourhood, but it's too far from where I live. Their service is good n they did apologize for not getting us what we ordered sooner but they were clearly slammed. Lots of big tables were filled up with ppl.“
“We spent a splendid getaway in the Murray Hotel last weekend. Candy and Marianne took care of everybody in the bar with care and smile during the busy late afternoon. Their presence makes the drinks and snacks even better. Rocky and Sheldon’s offer great hospitality in the Tai Pan. We enjoyed our breakfast very much. We will come back soon!“

“Even after years, this still is the best Chinese Restaurant in the Vancouver mainland area. With a great, warm and cozy atmosphere, serving plentiful and flavorful portions, and not as expensive as other places in the area, I always come here for an awesome meal with my partner and/or friends.“

“The rice noodle rolls are freshly made, but you can really taste the rice batter, which gives them a slightly unusual flavor that might not appeal to everyone. Overall, they’re just okay — not bad, but not great either. The Chinese donut isn’t the traditional Cantonese style; it’s more like a piece of fried bread, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
The egg and minced beef congee, however, is smooth, tasty, and well-balanced in flavor. It’s definitely the highlight of the meal and worth a try. Prices are quite reasonable, making it a decent spot to stop by for a comforting bowl of congee.“

“I always hesitate to order noodle soup from food courts because high temperature soup is often served in a single-use plastic container, which can potentially leach microplastics and other chemicals into the food. I love how this place serves its food in a clay pot that you can return after finishing eating. The deposit is $5, which you get back upon returning the clay pot. Not only is using a reusable container healthier, but it's also environmentally friendly!“

“Not everyone will like snail soup noodles, but those that do really love it. Believe that’s where the low ratings come from. It’s a you either love it or you don’t type of dish. Personally I love the uniqueness of the broth and how flavourful it is. Recommend giving this a chance, maybe you’ll fall in love with it :)“

“I have been going to this restaurant for over 30 years, I started with the Broadway one then the Grandview and also its Surrey location. But this location by MetroTown had the best service and our go to location. I drive out of my way just to come here for lunches and dinners.
The other locations I don't care for their service I want to be treated well when I goto a sit down.
Out goto dishes are:
LUNCH
Chicken Corn Soup with
Dai Ching Chicken (with bone, a must added flavor then boneless)
- I also request with extra sauce so when the meat is gone I just mix the rest with rice and its a whole other meal
Ginger Beef
- not take out worthy has to be eaten fresh to keep the crispiness otherwise its becomes mushy
Fried Green Beans
Deluxe Mixed Vegetables Chow Mien
- ask for crispy noodles, amazing
For DINNER
'Always' Dai Ching Chicken
Ginger Beef
Chicken Chow Mien (Crispy noodle of course)
But if you have more than 4 people also add:
Bowl of Chicken Corn Soup
and Moo Shu choice of meat.
I savor their food yes depending on the Chef it can vary from each time I go and yes sometimes it is way off but in generally 90% of the time its WELL WORTH IT!!!
All time favorite Chinese food anywhere. I have tried so many some came close but my tongue(watering now even thinking about them) always guides me back to this place.
Next time I go I will take pictures and add them here“

“I had a nice guy take me here, the place is super clean, the staff hardly speaks English.... Perfect, that's how you know it's authentic food.

“When I go for Chinese restaurants, I always look for the lowest stars because I find they're the authentic delicious ones and the higher stars are too inauthentic. I don't know what this dish is called but this is THE BOMB! My go-to local Chinese place!“

“This Richmond, BC location of Cho Cho, sister restaurant to Dolar Shop, offers good quality all you can eat hot pot at an affordable price. Clean but a tad loud during busy hours. While slightly smaller than the Burnaby location, it has the advantage of indoor parking. Keep in mind that parking is limited to 3 hours (P1-3) or 4 hours (P4) depending on the level, so plan your time accordingly if you intend to shop in the mall to avoid parking tickets, as friends have experienced.
The selection of ready to eat food seemed somewhat less than at the Burnaby location, but this location is more convenient. Both restaurants are quite popular, so reservations are highly recommended and can be easily made through the Yelp app. Service was overall good and attentive, with staff readily available to assist with any requests.“

“Reading these reviews make me so confused! Maybe it’s because I tried it after they put up the “under new management” sign.
Last week I went to Aroma which is on the opposite side of Crystal mall, and has a much higher rating, and was very disappointed with their popcorn chicken and beef noodle soup.
This week I decided to give Hanju a try, and it was far far better. The chicken is perfectly seasoned with the deep fried basil leaves, and the beef in the beef noodle soup just melts in your mouth. No carrot or radish fillers (the taste is there, it’s just not served as chunks) you actually get green veggies. They have some imported Taiwanese drinks as well.
The price is not cheap, but we would come back for our next Taiwanese food craving, especially with baby in tow. They have some children’s books and the seats are a lot more comfortable and clean than its competitor on the other side of the mall.“

“It’s been months. I check the menu like it’s a missing person poster.
I whisper to myself: “Maybe today’s the day. Maybe
This wasn’t just food. This was an emotional support meal. That tender pork? The rice that soaked up every drop of flavor like it was born for this mission? The cabbage crunch? I have not known joy like that since 2016.
I’ve tried moving on. I’ve ordered other dishes. I’ve even tried cooking at home.
But nothing hits like that Stewed Pork Rice. I dream about it. My therapist knows about it. My boyfriend knows not to bring it up unless he’s ready to see me cry.
Old Xian’s, I’m begging. I will write a haiku. I will start a petition. I will trade my soul (or at least a Costco membership).
Just… please bring it back.
Metro Vancouver deserves greatness again.“

“One of my favourite burnaby places to visit. The food is delicious, the ambience low key but relaxing. The food is so authentic it brings me back to my China days. I always swing by every few weeks when I really have an appetite. My only feedback is to increase the rice portion a little but otherwise solid!“

“Typical Yunnan-Guizhou flavor, his beef noodles are top-notch. The beef was soft and rotten, 5 big pieces. If you like sourness, there is also beef noodles in sour soup. Her sour soup is not vinegar, it is Guizhou’s unique sour soup. Cheap and good quality, the best noodles in Regent Plaza. Worth recommending.“

“A reliably tasty dim sum spot with authentic Cantonese flavors, tidy execution, and genuinely attentive service—easy to recommend for a relaxed weekend yum cha .
