I love my beef noodle soup. The both is tasty and the beef is very tender. I will definitely come here again.“

“OH MY✳️❤️????✅️. LOVE THIS recent restaurant discovery!! We have never had "Hunan cuisine" before-all of most others-but THIS was VERY SPECIAL- AND very TASTY ‼️✅️??. We have now had several excellent dishes. We had wonton soup-incredible darker broth- amazing - and the flavour of their wonton dumplings is excellent. We wanted MORE and have NEVER in all our years had those dumplings tasting like their's do ??!! We had their ginger, chicken, and green onion soup-??Amazing broth again, refreshing-truly- and, it left us all wanting it AGAIN‼️I CANNOT say enough about this place✅️✅️✅️- their chef ✅️✅️✅️and this Hunan style of food and spicing, etc.❗️We have also had their wonderful smoked pork house rice, the sour shredded potatoes and peppers, spicy cabbage, green onion pancakes, beef broccoli, etc. ( "Mild" is still fairly HOT here?-so unless you can take heat- ask for "?BABY heat???") PLEASE try for yourself! WE ARE going back for more to sample. You WON'T likely be disappointed! It is not a large restaurant, and they have delivery. It IS very clean, large menu choices, and the servers are so nice! Prices are very fair and comparable. They have dim sum items as well!???“

“We arrived right when a large dinner party was leaving, so we had to wait quite a while to get seated, for someone to take our order, and for water to arrive. Otherwise, the food was amazingly cheap for how much you received! We also received extra ice cream at the end for the trouble.“

“This is actually my second time at Gaon. This place offer quality food with a budget-friendly price ? I was having my birthday party here of 6 and we ordered a Combo B BBQ set for 4 and 1 main dish and believe me when i say all 6 of us couldn’t actually finish the food so we have to take my cake back home without eating any of it lol. Will recommend to more friends.“

“The food is good. Their ginger beef is one of the best in town. Curry dishes are not great here. Service is very good and fast. A little tight space in seating. Plenty of parking around. Overall, it's a good Chinese restaurant to dine in with family and friends.“

“Gluten free Chinese food! Yes, you read that correctly! Actually gluten free Chinese food. Including the battered meats! This is the first time I’ve ever encountered a gluten free Chinese food restaurant!
I got their most popular dish: the sesame chicken. It’s the first fried Chinese food I’ve had since getting celiac disease. The crispy fried chicken was delightful! It was served very hot and they prepared it so quickly too. It had great cuts of chicken too.
The associate who I talked with on the phone was very kind and courteous and worked hard with her staff to get my food ready quickly as I was in a rush.
This restaurant only adds 3 minutes to your route when you go from Vancouver back to the US!
5 stars!“

“Authentic little chinese restaurant at a great price. A great hidden gem! Love the lunch specials and the house special chow mein. The value for the lunch specials in particular are very reasonable. They are definitely a top choice for a quick lunch when I am in the area.“

“I craved Baozi (Chinese bun) and saw it’s on their menu so went for it. It was excellent.
A very kind lady served me. I was hungry so was anxious during the wait, but the food was worth it.
Tried the two kind of buns they had. It wasn’t salty as I had expected foods outside to be. Not salty/oily at all and in fact was very tasty, medium-size bun with generous meat filling, loved it. 太香了,好好吃?!Thanks for making my day ^ ^“

“I visited here for the first time last year on a business trip and tried the dry spicy wontons and I have not stopped thinking about them since. These are the most perfect bite ever. Soft, savory, tingly, spicy, warm, affordable, and so filling. I am back in Vancouver for business again and my first stop for dinner was this totally unassuming food stall in the crystal mall. Love love love and wish I had anything even remotely similar back home.“

“I have tried this place both for dine in and dine out.
I go here for their affordable lunch menu. The foods here are mostly delicious. Fried rice is sometimes hit or miss.
I like their spicy pork chop, house special wanton soup, and congee.
Prices are reasonable and they have quick service.“

“Over all…the hotpot was good…lots of choices…
Dim sum…was very limited 2 or 3 choices…and slow to get refilled…
I was disappointed that my 10 and 14 year old child had to pay the full adult price of 52$ each, as this location based it off height…and not age…
If your planning to go with your kids…personally I don’t think it’s worth it…
As well…please be advised…if your planning to pay by credit card…they will charge you a 2% fee…unless you do their survey…in which case they will wave the 2% fee“

“Our family of 10 just landed back in Vancouver ag 5pm after 4 days in California. We were hungry and didn't know what to eat. Good thing Happy Lamb Hot Pot could accommodate us! Food and service here has always been good since we have been eating here for the past 10+ years.
$30-$40 per person all you can eat is worth it. Compared to California where each meal we paid $20-$30 USD per person per meal! It's good to be back where Vancouver has the best variety of food at descent price.
Here they have deep fried chicken wings and lamb/pork bones ready to eat if you are hungry and can't wait for you hot pot food to come out.
Parking: The CIBC parking is from 8am-5pm underground, but you can park there after 5pm.“

“I don't know if Koreans' tastes will have different tastes, but it feels like real Chinese food. It's good to try once, but it's just not to my taste. But even though the closing time had passed, people still waited to eat. (Orders must be placed 15 minutes before closing) Anyway, rather than saying it’s delicious, I’m grateful that it allowed me to eat at such a late hour!“

“I met with a few friends for lunch at this Peaceful location & was pleasantly pleased with the food we ordered. The star attraction were the Beef Rolls. The stuffed slices of tasty beef had the taste of being freshly roasted & the wrap was equally crispy. YUMMY! Street parking is available. If no spots available, try the surrounding residential parking or the parade across the street. Service at the restaurant was attentive. Limited seating/tables but we managed to arrive before the lunch crowd came - 11:30 am on a Friday. Definitely, we will come back to this location.“

“A hidden gem for Taiwanese food that deserves more hype! Went for the boiled fish with pickles combo for two and got a feast—boiled fish soup, beef bulgogi, crispy fried tofu, plus tea and veggies (not pictured because we were too busy eating). Cozy vibes, friendly service, and flavors that hit the spot. Definitely coming back for round two!“

“I've been coming here since I was a kid. Always good value and food tastes great. Braised beef brisket hot pot is very tender. If you don't get the black bean sauce for the chow mein, the flavor will be milder. The chow mein noodles are nice and crispy and absorbs the sauce well. I'll continue to come here.
Parking: Can be hard to find parking during the afternoon and early evening“

“Big portion, and decent food. The restaurant is located at prime location in the area, the Plaza itself has very limited parking, but there are plenty of street parking around the block. I love the spicy and sour potatoes and the cumin lamb slices. Those are our go to dishes.“

“We dined here the other night, and I have to say we left feeling incredibly happy and satisfied. The food was outstanding—everything was fresh and flavorful, and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience.
The service was just as impressive. Our server made us feel like honored guests in his home, greeting us warmly, chatting, and even sharing a few jokes. His friendliness and hospitality really added a personal touch to the evening.
Since we live only a few minutes away, this has quickly become my favorite Chinese restaurant. It seems they get more takeout orders than dine-in customers, but this spot definitely deserves more love. If you’re thinking of giving it a try, go for it—you won’t regret it!“

“I always hesitate to order noodle soup from food courts because high temperature soup is often served in a single-use plastic container, which can potentially leach microplastics and other chemicals into the food. I love how this place serves its food in a clay pot that you can return after finishing eating. The deposit is $5, which you get back upon returning the clay pot. Not only is using a reusable container healthier, but it's also environmentally friendly!“
“We spent a splendid getaway in the Murray Hotel last weekend. Candy and Marianne took care of everybody in the bar with care and smile during the busy late afternoon. Their presence makes the drinks and snacks even better. Rocky and Sheldon’s offer great hospitality in the Tai Pan. We enjoyed our breakfast very much. We will come back soon!“

“Our regular takeout spot! Hidden gem in N. Burnaby. Great food for value - around $15 per dish before tax. Free spring rolls w/ min $35 order. Michael Buble was even a customer back in the day and it was neat to see a framed photo on the wall of him and the owner. Like previous reviews have said, they get super busy on weekends and can take awhile to make your order so it's best to give them plenty of notice! There aren't too many old school Chinese restaurants like this anymore.
Wheelchair accessibility: Street level access.“

“I re-visited ChongQing after more than 20 years. It seems to me that it is now serving a greater variety of food.
Peking duck was the highlight of the evening. It was on promotion and only cost around $55 for a Peking duck in 2 ways. I would say it was very good for this price. The skin was crispy and not too greasy, and the stir fried duck meat with lettuce wrap was delicious. My second favorite was the spicy and sour soup. Though I was a little shocked when I saw button mushrooms in it (the authentic one didn't have), it tasted just like the one I used to have.
Perhaps the chef is not particularly skillful in making Xiaolungbao. The wrapping was easy too thick. Other than that, I'm happy with the rest of the dishes.“

“Came here bc my family chose it after a family funeral. Food was really good compared to the restaurant Congee Noodle House, which is near where I live. Being vegan [my fams agree too] I think that their Spicy Deep Fried Bean Curd is quite delicious similar to the above restaurant. I would enjoy coming here again if in the neighbourhood, but it's too far from where I live. Their service is good n they did apologize for not getting us what we ordered sooner but they were clearly slammed. Lots of big tables were filled up with ppl.“

“Food is great! Meats are significantly better than Kingsway cause its almost no fat on the side at all. Pot on the table is a bit far and non-asian employees refill your soup to the rim of the ceramic but the pot is shorter and it's the stainless. So broth went everywhere!“

“This is a higher priced Chinese restaurant, but the quality and proportions make them worthy.
Every meal that we have had here has been fantastic. The flavors are always on point, and there is plenty to go around.
Our favorite dishes are the Peking Duck 2-way with Lettuce Wrap, the Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice, the Roasted Chicken half, and my little ones love the Crab Claws with Shrimp Paste.
Since we do not live here, the price is worth it for the few opportunities we get to enjoy the amazing Chinese food in Vancouver.“
