“If I could give Galbi Korean BBQ 6 stars, I would.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We went on a Sunday night and expected a wait, it was about 45 minutes but absolutely worth it. We ordered the Chef’s BBQ Combo D, and it was more than enough for all of us to leave completely full. They continuously refilled our sides and sauces, so we were never without anything. Everything felt clean, organized, and really well run.

My personal favourites were the marinated beef short rib, the fresh salad, bean paste soup, scallion salad, and the cheesy corn — all so flavourful and perfectly done.

This is hands down one of the best spots to come with your partner or a group, where you can relax, cook together, and actually enjoy the experience as much as the food. We’ll 100% be coming back. 🔥🥩“

“I went with friends for a birthday dinner. The food was great, and the restaurant has a classy feel. Our servers, Rachael and Ritish were very warm and genuine. They presented the birthday girl with a delicious lava cake(looked beautiful on the plate)and sang happy birthday 🙂“

“Fantastic breakfast spot. So many options it choose from, there is something for everyone's taste. My go-to is definitely the breakfast poutines or Benny's. The restaurant is long and skinny with great light from outside and a patio in summer months. We always go a little before lunch rush and never have problems getting a table.“

Get their ‘special’ menu items, it’s genuinely a big cut above standard phó/vermicelli. Had number 37, I’m gonna come back and get it every time (I’m that kind of person). The portion wasn’t big but the amount of meat was generous for the size and the flavour was excellent. Well balanced and spiced and will plenty of veggies to put in as well as garlic and thai chillies on the side. Not greasy, not too salty.
It’s chill in here, I like the decor and the staff are friendly. They give you a good sized pot of tea and in general aren’t going to check up much but that’s okay with me.“

“I've been coming here for years and it is my favourite dessert place without feeling too guilty about it! Staff are always kind, fast, and efficient. Even when the mall is about to close, they would still take your order and deliver it fast. Love love love this place!“

“I almost walked past this place because the exterior looks a bit dated and the surrounding area isn’t particularly eye-catching. The dining room is also quite small and the interior could definitely use some updating. However, the high ratings convinced me to give it a try, and I’m glad I did.

I ordered the aburi sushi combo, a tamago nigiri, and a miso soup.

The miso soup was probably the weakest part of the meal. It tasted like a fairly standard instant-style miso soup with soft tofu and rehydrated seaweed. One small suggestion: the soup bowl I received was very heavily scratched from years of use. As I got further into the soup, it became difficult to tell whether the marks were simply wear or if the bowl wasn’t completely clean. Replacing some of the older bowls would improve the overall dining experience.

The real highlight was the aburi sushi combo. It took a little longer than expected to arrive, but once it did, I understood why. The presentation was beautiful, the variety was excellent, and the quality of the fish really stood out. Every piece had great flavor, the fish was fresh and nicely marbled, and the torching added a wonderful aroma. Considering the price, it’s honestly an outstanding value and something I’d definitely recommend ordering.

My only suggestion for the aburi sushi is that it was slightly oilier than necessary. It looked like the sushi was torched directly on the serving plate, leaving quite a bit of rendered fish oil underneath. The rice had already absorbed some of the oil from the fish, and then picked up even more from the plate. It wasn’t greasy enough to ruin the dish, but it did make the overall bite a little heavier. I think torching the sushi first and plating it afterward could help preserve the same great flavor while keeping the rice lighter.

The tamago nigiri was just okay. It tasted like the tamago had been refrigerated and reheated before serving, so it lacked the soft, freshly made texture I was hoping for. To be fair, I visited around 4 p.m. and I was the only customer, so I completely understand why they weren’t making fresh tamago at that time. It was a little disappointing, but not a dealbreaker.

The service was friendly and efficient. Nothing particularly exceptional, but definitely pleasant.

Overall, despite the dated interior, the quality of the sushi exceeded my expectations. With a few small improvements, this place could be even better. I’d happily come back again, especially for the aburi sushi combo.“

“Top tier semi hidden bar! It's a bit of a time capsule to an older-Van style, unpretentious sports-bar roadhouse type place. The location is unusual, sort of at the basement of an apartment complex on a road you've never been to before, situated on an urban residential cul-de-sac, giving the bar a sheen of surreality.

With many pool tables, lots of tables, two big screens for 2 different games to watch, and good prices for beer, I'd be here all the time if it was local to me.

Special mention for the food: had the chef's special lasanga last night and it was so good ordered a second dinner to try!

“Small victory never disappoints. The store smells just as delicious as the drinks taste. I usually get a coffee, but today I decided to get a matcha, and I definitely will get it again. The matcha is bright green and tastes heavenly. The coffee is also good, and you can see the baristas making the fresh espresso in front of you. The pastries look amazing, even though I have not tried them yet. If you haven't gone, there is lots to do in the area, as it is right in the middle of Brentwood Mall.

If you are looking to study or do work here, I do not recommend it, but it is a good cafe to sit for a drink and chat.“

“I was very happy to find a pub in this area! I will say, the food was way better than I expected. We loved the server and bartender we met, Maria and Elwood made our night so much more fun. They had the perfect amount of banter and interacting, our whole group had so much fun!! For a pub that could use a bit more fixing / upgrading, but other than that, we all highly recommend the pub! “While there’s a lot to like about this Starbs, this morning they were pumping Toxic by Britney Spears and while I agree it’s a hot jam, 5am is not the time for Queen B. I used to take my book with me in the morning with the hope that I could do some reading, but sadly who’s ever choosing the music is still in clubbing mode from the night before on most mornings which doesn’t really set the mood. Missing the old jazz and indie playlists in general from Starbs which were incredibly curated and surprisingly erudite.“

I found the portion to be sufficient for lunch, especially with the extra egg. Not the best rice rolls I've had but it's pretty good.“

I carried 10 heavy boxes of spring rolls to their store on L2 Brentwood Mall. $200 worth of food and $0 tips from them. Have been there for dim sum lunches and everything is fantastic from the ha gow, chicken feet to their rice bowls.

But it's there dinner menu that really shines.
I highly recommend:
Lobster and Glutinous Rice steamed in leaves
Crab and Fish Maw Soup (Thick and Juicy)
Pea Tips (Glistening from the wok)
Baked Custard Pudding (for Dessert; must be ordered in advance .. but it's to die for!)

“I just ordered a 3 piece meal and received 2 drumsticks and a thigh (brutal). One piece was fine the other 2 were cold and had been sitting awhile. The fries were the worst I've had, they were under heat lamp I'm sure for at least a couple of hours they tasted like day old French fries. this was the Maple Ridge location which just opened, so maybe they were working out the kinks.“

“Popular Coffee fix. Many are addicted to Starbucks globally! Sugar , caffeine ☕️ java beverage. Located in Burnaby Metrotown. Pay attention to your sugar intake if you are diabetic or pre-diabetic. If you have long covid with brain fog issues, no caffeine after 5 pm. Try decaffeinated instead but be aware you are trading issues as decaffeinated has another issue. Look it up in your own internet search. Can be crazy busy!“

“Pretty solid Taiwanese hot pot place. Broth tastes fresh, veggies look like they were chopped same day, and the meat slices come out nicely arranged, not frozen bricks. Lots of options for add-ons, so it’s easy to tweak your pot. Staff is chill, service pace felt okay, works for me.“

“My daughter wanted Church's Chicken and this was the nearest location.

We got the 3 piece with fries and drink. The chicken was crispy and juicy, just the way I remembered it growing up.

Sadly, the fries are no longer crinkle cut style, but the frozen coated ones like at Costco.

Still, for the chicken of my childhood, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.“
