“A DAMN good experience at this restaurant. From the moment you walk in you know it's going to be amazing! Service was amazing. I felt like we had 3-4 servers at all times. They knew what I needed before I knew what I needed lol. I would have given them 5 stars but I had to subtract a star because one of their cocktail straws had mold or a tissue stuck in it? Brought it to the severs attention and they immediately apologized and brought me a new drink. They even comped the drink which I appreciated. Ambience was intimate but lots of lighting which was nice. Food was delicious and well crafted. Definitely will be back, hopefully the cocktail don't disappoint next time .“

“The pork was marinated in a super delicious citrus marinade and cooked so tender on the burrito very impressed yumVegetarian options: All dishes can be made vegetarian. Not vegan.Parking: Street parking can be scarce as this is in the 24th street Bart block.Kid-friendliness: This is neither kid friendly nor kid opposed, this is a typical taqueria atmosphere and depending on the time of day the adult clientele can be appropriate for families but as it gets later it does appear to have a more intoxicated adult environment.“

“If you want a real burrito and and the real feel of a hole in da wall, then this is the place for you. Cash only so don't try to pull out your debit, or credit card. Also don't walk around with your cell phone and camera in hand, ya just might get it snatched in that area.“

“Nice restaurant with bar. Mexican cuisine inspired menu, but be prepared to be surprised in a good way if the chef pulls out something that is a fusion of Mexican and another cuisine from a totally far off part of the world. I visited with some business associates and they were extremely delighted by the food, the staff and the environment. Great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner. Highly recommended.“

“I can't really call this place a hidden gem in the mission but for what it's worth, the ratings do justice to how great the food is. The cuisine and flavors and unpredictable and interesting. The ambiance is jovial, inviting, not fancy but bustling. Service is knowledge and has good insight into menu and secret menu. My favorite dishes were the mole, tacos (minus the fish one), and the churro with coconut ice cream. Highly recommend this spot, the mole is incredible! Prices are also reasonable for this type of culinary experience. Presentation of the dishes is innovative and pleasant on the eye. Daily happy hour from 4-6 is also a hit.“

“Got take out from here the other day. We ordered the huarrches and enchilades rojas. We like the huarrches because you don't see it on a lot of menu's. I liked how it had beans inside the masa and it came with a generous portion of carnitas. The enchilades were delicious too. Both were slightly pricy, but good food overall. Look forward to eating here in person soon.“

“Loved their Al pastor cauliflower tacos! They're delicious! Haven't seen this vegetarian option on menus. We also got the mushroom cheese dish to share. They give about 6 fresh tortillas with it. Great for sharing between 2-4 ppl. Great service. The decor and the vibe of the place totally goes with the menu. Came here for a friend's birthday. We were group of 10 ppl or so!“

“Absolutely a hidden gem! I got a chileajo tamale and a Oaxacan hot chocolate. The tamale came with a sauce that was smoky, a little spicy, and the perfect compliment to the tamale. And it was only $6! Hot chocolate was also delicious and made by hand at our table. So happy to have found this place and would recommend to anyone visiting the Mission.“

“What to say!? This spot has got it all. Indoor eating with beautiful art on the wall, delicious food and an extensive wine menu to try. I ordered and lives their large pozole (pictured) which is a red pork or chicken stew with a rich broth. They also serve delicious horchata. I'm definitely returning!July '22 update: ordered the plantain pastor burrito ($12) and it was delicious. Confirmed as well that the pozole is amazingly rich with flavors of oregano, red onion, hominy and lime“

“This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. I honestly don't even like Breakfast Burritos at most places, but the one here is easily the best one I have ever had. In my life. Perfectly constructed with the right amount of greasy chorizo goodness(but not too greasy), perfectly scrambled eggs, creamy cheese and avacado, and crispy tater tots. Plus a nice hot mayo to go with it, there is not a single thing I would change about it. It's probably the best thing I've eaten in 2024 so far.Their birria pizza is also amazing, some of the best Birria I've had in Northern California, and everything on the menu in general is delicious. The owner is super nice and it's a cute little spot in the city. I can't reccomend it enough honestly, a must visit.“

“Went here to try the SF restaurant week menu. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food is presented well. I felt that the experience missed the mark a bit though considering the prices. The menu is authentic Mexican but the flavours were lacking. For example, in the hibiscus margarita, the hibiscus was soo diluted compared to one you would get at a nice restaurant in Mexico. And it was similar for the food… the flavours were lacking. The duck on the menu was nice but too salty, while the dessert was too sweet. Our specific server seemed inexperienced but other staff were very attentive. In summary, I was hoping for the flavours to better match what I get in Mexico.“

“Tasty mexican food in North Beach. It was pretty early - like 5:30 pm - and the place was empty, so the orders delivery was fast. We had a burrito (big!) and some tacos with carne asada (portion of three), a cheese enchilada and tacos with guacamole. Everything was really tasty, maybe a little hard to digest (more than other mexican experiences) but I have to say I was really hungry and I ate fast. This food plus two margaritas was like 72$ without tip and I think it’s pretty expensive (it was the most expensive dinner in a almost two weeks trip in and around San Francisco so I think it’s something worth to say). Not so happy with that.Other things: the neighborhood is pretty great, the location is just okay (it doesn’t recall authenticity but it looks more like a franchise fast food); service is a bit cold but kind so nothing to whine about (it’s just an observation). So yeah if you’re hungry, price it’s not a problem and you aren’t looking for a “traditional” kind of thing, this is the place!“

“Really warm and welcoming service and a mule kick of a great margarita, what's not to like? We enjoyed all the plates especially the pozole Roja and Baja fish tacos, both dishes so flavorful ($18/$16). I thought the prices were a little steep for two small street tacos and also the two chocolate chip cookie dessert. They were both very good - but priced too high ($8 for two cookies?) Buttermilk churros with a dark chocolate sauce were dreamy. Definitely order those to split, delicious. Great decor, you could spend time meditating on the beautiful, fluttery ceiling in a gorgeous color of ocean blue.“

“This is for the Pompano location. Ok folks, let me preface with I'm not a super fan of Mexican food. Last night we decided to try this place and boy I was more than impressed. I had the Las Olas chimichanga stuffed with shrimp & crab and boy what a flavor festival. My girlfriend had the chile relleno's and she said they are the best she has had in FL. The service was great & the food was beyond belief. I left looking forward to going back & that has not happened to me with regards to Mexican food in 15 + years. This place is a must try.“

“I stepped in during my lunch break. I almost got out of line because it was moving slow, but I’m glad I didn’t. The line was there for a reason. I had the barbacoa and it reminded me of the one my aunt used to make. It was amazing! Support this place!“

“Very cool ambiance! The cocktails were well crafted and the food was really flavorful! Only a few cons- the music was a bit loud so sometimes it felt like shouting to have a conversation and it was a bit surprising to only get one taco per serving for the price - but it was a very good taco (the saffron chicken).“

“Great food, great staff and vegetarian options. Just ask and they can accommodate. The hangover breakfast burrito is one of my favorite dishes here. Tortillas are handmade and super yummy.Vegetarian options: They can make some dishes vegetarian. They can add mushrooms and other veggies so your options are not just limited to cheese enchiladas and quesadillas.“

“Awesome little restaurant/cafe, with probably the best pricing we’ve experienced in the Bay Area. Based on her reactions to the food, this was probably my girlfriend’s favorite of our breakfast spots we’ve tried on vacation. 10/10, everyone needs to try the Mexican coffee!!“

“I feel like a guest of the family when I come here. They craft the food with love and care. The sopes are handmade each day and the best I’ve ever had. I almost don’t want to recommend them because then they will run out more often. The carnitas are also my favorite in the Bay Area. They also have beer (Victoria!) and an excellent spicy green salsa.“

“Really solid tacos + so affordable. I got the lengua, cabeza, and carne - all for ~$11. The lengua and cabeza were my favorites - they were both super tender. Carne was just a tad dryer than the other options. The tacos I got were actually pretty wet, making it a bit hard to eat them all / hold their shape within the floppy taco shell. Will have to come back and try the famed carnitas!“

“Birria burrito was tasty. Meat was flavorful and melt in your mouth. Was surprised that they used plain rice rather than Spanish rice. Tortilla was so deliciously flaky, I wondered if it was lavash.Decore is your typical no frills tacqueria with brightly colored throw pillows, paintings of natives doing everyday things, but a nice touch is the counter set up to look like the Golden Gate Bridge.Very few options for agua frescas so we got Mexican Mocha, which was good.Neighborhood locals like to go here and everyone is really friendly.“

“I was very excited to eat Filipino food again for the first time in years after I stopped eating meat. ✨ This location was very clean, there's standing coubterop seating inside and plenty of patio seating in the back. During dinner rush, I've seen a line even during weekdays. ⚡ The staff is friendly and the food was ready quickly. ? Got the Señor Sisig Bowl with tofu, medium spicy, and it was OK. The flavor overall was sweet, not savory enough, missing acidity to brighten it up. I don't like sweet chili sauce and it tasted and looked like the tofu was marinated in it. The garlic rice wasn't garlicy. The medium spice level was nice, not too spicy for a whole meal. I'd try the vegan chicken next time. ? Pretty good value, ~$14 + tax“

“Powell Station is footsteps away making Tropisueno my "go to" restaurant when I am near Union Square. The menu selection is diverse, which is great, but the last 2 times I have eaten there the service has fallen below satisfactory. I am bewildered as to why, seeing that they have far more wait staff than most restaurants.“

“Great food & good service but they do Not accept cash payment. & they'll blame you for not reading it on the menu. If you insist on paying in cash, they will be a dramatic refusal of cash. Not only did we pay in cash we tipped near 30% tip. I just think having a zero cash policy is unwelcoming to many customers & not worth the confrontation. It felt as though cash had zero value but it's a legal tender. I would happily return if cash wasn't refused.“

“Colibri is a Mexican bistro right close by the sea. It's a beautiful place for a hot meal in their outside court. The sun can fall into your eyes and start toasting you, so stick to those covered tables if possible. Keep in mind that although it's upscale, it is traditional and sticks with its roots. Not the kind of traditional that someone from the South is used to.Really great quality food. The spice was a big wake-up call for me. The drinks are fun (they put one of their cocktails in a peacock glass!) and they make sharing easy.“

“I don't typically crave Mexican or even Latin inspired cuisine.... No particular reason other than I am from Hawaii and until recently it hasn't been as prevalent. But that is neither here nor there. It was 8 months ago. My sis had the Mole, she loves it and loved it. I don't remember my entree. It was probably a quesadilla. But. Omg. The flan. The flan was so epic. I wish I had a pic. The outside seating was gorgeous too.“

“De lo más auténtico. I felt like I was in Sanahcat, Mexico eating in an abuelita’s kitchen. Amazing, real, legitimate Mayan indigenous food. This did my whole heart good. I was not expecting this much deliciousness and yet that’s what I got. (We shared a salbute, a tamal and an order of cochinita pibil for the two of us.) Almost all of the clientele when we were there was Yucatec Maya (the guys at the table next to us were chatting in Maya). Utz tin t’aan.“

“The best birria tacos in sf hands down. Birria tacos are supposed to be CRISPY and these are crispy!! if you eat the tacos there you get them nice and hot with the delicious melting cheese. i love birria, i get it at every taco place I go to, i even had it in mexico but it's really the best at La vaca birria. and plus is halal so it's not cooked in lard. when we walked in people were telling us how good the food was; I swear if you try this place you won't be disappointed. Perfect place to eat for cinco de mayo!! please try this place, it will be your new go-to, you will never be able to eat birria any where else. The staff was noticeably overwhelmed, they definitely weren't equipped for how many people walked in. but i would highly recommend!!“

“It's not easy to be a restaurant owner nowadays, but the way this place continually tries new menus, events and community-driven projects to better the food and drinks scene in Oakland is awesome, and what our little town deserves. Also, I'm burying the lede but the food and drinks are AWESOME. Deadbeat summer and mellow deadbeat for the NA folks, new items like the tots and tuna tostado slap. The burger. The burger! Phenomenal service from the staff. What more could you ask for? Come through and give them your money; you will not be disappointed.“

“I have lived in Brisbane for 3 decades now. When my kids were younger, this was a regular spot for them after school for nachos with everything or for family dinners or occasional weekend breakfast. Since they have grown, I don't go as often, but drop in from time to time. I work long hours, generally getting back to town late, plus my big meal of the day is lunch and I generally don't eat an evening meal. This spot has a lovely atmosphere and Rafael is the nicest/kindest man! As an aside, he is also a wonderful supporter of many of the non-profits in Brisbane, so he is well loved and appreciated by the residents. I stopped in recently and ordered pozole, which I had never had here before. I can vouch for the menudo being great though. To my delight, the pozole was AMAZING!!! The to-go bag was packed with rolled up warm tortillas, a sliced whole lime wrapped in foil and small containers full of chopped up raddish, cabbage, an onion and fresh parsley blend, hot sauce (YUM!) and then chips and fresh salsa/pico de gallo as well. The pozole so knocked my socks off that I went back to get it again, this last Sunday, but he said he had sold out the day before... due to it being a popular order during cold/wet weather. He said he would have some this week, so I stopped in last night and bought two big containers - again, absolutely delicious! I finished a half containter last night and brought the unopened one into work today to share with my coworker, who says pozole is her favorite soup of all time, that her family makes it often as well, and she gave this one high praise and even went back for seconds. I am hoping Rafael keeps this as a regular on his menu as I can see myself ordering this weekly, in bulk, just to have in the fridge for lunch or dinner over a few days. Happy to know easy and friendly access to this deliciousness exists so close to home for me... but it would be worth the drive as well!“
