“We found this place by asking where the best burritos were. Everyone we asked said to come here. You will wait in a long line but it moves fast and absolutely worth the wait! We got ours to go but there is some inside seating. Hands down the freshest most delicious burrito I've ever had. They are huge!“

“Juventino Carrillo is THE authority on Mexican wine with the largest selection in the US under one roof. We’re so grateful to have him and his talented team in our community. The food is incredible. We wish we were closer. We’d be here every week.“

“Went here as a solo diner and had a wonderful experience! I loved most of the dishes, with the standouts being the savory flan and the mole with quail. A couple of the dessert dishes fell short for me, but overall this was one of the best meals of my life. I did feel a bit too full around halfway through the meal — perhaps the pacing was a bit too fast for me, or there were too many filling dishes in the middle. The service was amazing, very attentive and kind wait staff. They even cleaned and boxed my abalone shell for me after I asked to keep it. Overall, I’m really happy to have experienced this meal. Thank you Californios!“

“I thought this place was pretty good, but I wasn’t overly impressed, so I think it’s maybe a little overhyped. Food was good. Service is pretty good atmosphere was all right. We sat outside and it was pretty chilly and they didn’t have the heaters running.“

“An elevated liquor store that sells delicious Mexican food. Come here for tacos, quesadillas, even coffee and ice cream (depending on the day/time). I’ve been here now a few times and the owners are so down to earth & nice. Take some food to cook up at home too. This is the spot for some home handmade tortillas! Deliciosa!“

“Amazing vibes and phenomenal food & drink. We thought we had a reservation made, but when we arrived what we had and what the host had didn’t match—it was so wonderful of them to make room for us during a very busy night. We had a few dishes which were delicious and many drinks. Such a wonderful experience and excited to go back.“

“This may be the best Mexican burrito I've ever had, got the chorizo one! (I'm usually not super happy with Mexican food because I live in NC, but am from NM. Often Mexican food tends to be dry compared to New Mexican which swims in sauce. It actually may be difficult to find authentic Mexican food in NM because fusion restaurants are the norm (a Mexican place that doesn't offer chile).) Visiting SF - where I briefly lived years ago - I knew I had to take advantage of the good Latin American options. We tried going to Breakfast Little but their power was out, unfortunately. Al Carojo across the street just started experiencing power problems, too. This was our third choice, but it might have been my first, if I had first found the listing. It was the authentic experience I was hoping for. My partner had the breakfast plate with chorizo and his was fantastic also. Too bad we live so far away.“

“On my most recent visit at 8pm on a Tuesday, there was a line for ordering but service was fast and friendly. I ordered the super burrito and I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best burrito I have ever had. Forget Chipotle because this is a flavor explosion!
The chicken is perfectly charred, the tortilla is soft yet strong enough to hold together the large burrito. The cilantro is fresh and adds robust flavor. Lastly, the avocado and sour cream round out the burrito, balancing out the herbs.
The cash-only reviews may not be accurate as I and many other people used credit card.
This is a must-try if you're in the Mission district, such a hidden gem!“

“This is my favorite breakfast burrito in San Francisco. They are so, so good - stuffed with bacon, beans, avocado, cheese - I’m literally drooling thinking about it. The staff here are so kind and lovely. It’s great for breakfast or lunch. It’s reasonably priced for the area. The mini churros are also yummy. The portions are very large. Highly recommend.“

“How cool that this Oakland gem has adapted during the pandemic! All of the delicious drinks and all kinds of new menu items all for take-out in...wait for it...compostable containers...even the bottles the drinks come in! Please support this sustainability-minded, amazing and delicious restaurant. They have a few outdoor tables, too. Go. Go now!“

“This used to be one of our favs. While eating there tonight I actually couldn’t believe how bad the food was that I tried checking their website to see if there was new ownership or a new chef. The beef tacos tasted bland and with a tinge of a chemical taste, the chips were stale but I was hungry so ate them, the dip they came with was probably the only good thing, the fish tacos were not like how they used to taste. I ordered a margarita, the bart next asked if I wanted tequila. I said yes. She brought me mescal. Yuck. Seriously, what happened Otra?“

“The grilled cheese burrito was absolutely delicious! What a genius idea. Every bite is greeted with tasty guacamole, continued with flavorful carne asada, and then you’re left with melty cheese to chew on afterwards. And the addition of a churro was really the cherry on top. If you’re visiting the mission and want the best burrito possible, get this one!“

“Stopped into the location on Haight St. We got the carnitas Street Burrito and an order of nachos. Good quality burrito. Happy with the ratio of the meat to beans, rice, pico.
The nachos were bigger and better than we expected. Fully covered in toppings and cheese. I hate when I run out of toppings and you still have extra chips and this was not the case. I give the service 5 bc the ladies at the counter were friendly and the food came out quickly.
I gave to atmosphere a 3 bc the tables were not being cleaned off and the garbage can was overflowing.
The big window/ patio in the front is a great place to people watch and there is a lot to see in Haight St.“

“Absolutely fantastic.
Great quality, flavor, and good presentation on food. Highly recommend their salsa verde on just about anything. Superb. My favorite: Chilaquiles with ham, verde sauce. You won’t regret it.
Friendly, family feel staff, quick food, clean environment, atmosphere not too loud though when full it can get moderate.“

“Been going there since the 70’s We loved their fresh made tortillas and masa for tamales. I did notice today the tortillas weren’t the same. I pray the masa hasn’t changed when we make our Xmas tamales. For the past 27 years I drive from Antioch to San Francisco for our masa.🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️“

“Walked in one day and wanted to try some nachos. Had a great time. It was good fresh food. The service was amazing and the views from the windows are pretty. The restaurant is also decorated very beautifully. Will come back again to try the other things I was suggested. But unfortunately just the day was not just for me, which was decent.
Don't mind the to go box in my photos. I didn't want to dirty dishes when I was hoping to take most of the Nachos to go :)“

“I've tried all the vegetarian burritos in town, and La Perla has the best. All ingredients of a super burrito (minus meat) and comes with extra veggies inside - peppers, onions, and spinach fajita style - rather than just a regular burrito, but with less, like most places do. It stands out among the Mexican restaurants in town for vegetarian options. Very good homemade salsas“

“Delicious. The torta was divine and I loved the salsa bar especially since they had the taqueria pickled carrots and jalapeños as an option at the salsa bar! 10/10 would recommend. If I lived in San Fran, this would be my go-to spot. Service was great. Thank you so much!“

“I always get the baja style fried fish tacos Nick's way. Had some friends try them last night, and everybody thought they were incredible. I personally also add their habanero salsa which you'll have to request for if you like that much heat. Their house margaritas are the perfect accompaniment. The staff is all great. It's generally busy every time I'm there but luckily I've never had to wait very long for a table (that might just be luck).“

“Hands down best Mexican spot on the West Side and it's not even close.
My favorite are the carnitas tacos, but everything is good.
I'm addicted to their red salsa. It's my favorite in the entire city. Be prepared, its spicy.
Very family friendly, my kids love going there. Family owned, super nice people. I can't say enough good things about this place.“

“Halibut tacos, margaritas, birria tacos - to die for! Caveat, I’m a white boy from San Diego, but their tacos got me - almost cried! They get busy because of the location but they’re good with discounting the bill if service is slow. Halibut tacos are a must! Order two and order nothing else, they’re huge! Ask for margarita with light or no ice :)“
