We’re visiting the area primarily for golf, and our caddie told us that the Flying Fish Grill is his favorite restaurant in the area. We completely understand why! SO many “WOWs” in this meal from start to finish. We had the chips and ginger salsa, Calamari, Crab Tower, Salad, Sea Bass, and hot fudge sundae. Every. Single. Bite was amazing. And the service was the best we’ve experienced in the Monterey area. That’s saying a lot as we’re staying at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. From the very first contact on the phone, to the last bite of dessert we felt like family. Absolutely fantastic experience in every possible way!“

“This is a unique restaurant that make you think you are in Switzerland. The decoration was very Swiss. The food was great. We ordered onion soup, raclette, ham & cheese sandwiches, a Swiss noodle (forgot the name) and chocolate fondue with fruits. Very delicious. The service was great and the ambience was impressive and serene. The price was also reasonable. An excellent dining experience.“

“The is the best Chinese Food I have had in a long time. Based on the reviews I was expecting it to be good, but it was amazing! We never think to go out for Chinese food, but now we will. The Pu Pu Platter was a hit. Everyone loved it. The presentation was impressive and the food was even better. Everyone loved what they got and that is rare with this group. The portions were big. Every dish had a generous amount of meat. The pork fried rice even had huge chunks of pork that were delicious. The potstickers were cooked exactly how I like them, a little crispy on the bottom and chewy on the top. The pork filling was delicious. I was impressed with the size and quantity of Prawns in the Kung Pao Prawn dish. Also, one do the most flavorful and rich Kung Pao sauces I’ve ever tasted. I found myself looking around at what everyone else in the restaurant had ordered and it made me want to come back sooner than I had planned.“

“This is a beautiful & charming winery nestled in carmel-by-the-sea. We landed on the really delicious Rose which has won the best Rose in Monterey county for the past 13 years. Sarah was our pourer who was super fun to be with, we shared many stories and just is a great person to get to know and hang out with. They also have a bathtub in the wine room that you can have a photo in which is very unique. The outside fire pit table is perfect for the sometimes chili days in caramel when the fog is around or in the winter time. Especially love the breadsticks and nuts that she gave us along with our wine. The Pinot noir that we tried was excellent and was very smooth, complex with a variety of tasting notes, little bit fruit forward and a very drinkable everyday wine.“

Wow, the quality of sushi and portions were really generous and good. We got 2 rolls and a sashimi platter, and it was plenty of food. The sashimi was fresh and really good fish. The rolls were delicious and well made, plus big portions. Def happy with out meal, it was great. Would recommend“

“Picked up food to go last year and it was really good. So happy that we found this place again! Ordered garlic parm and spicy fried chicken wing plates, lemongrass chicken and beef meatball pho. Also ordered strawberry and melon boba milk tea and Vietnamese coffee with egg cream. Food and drinks came out quickly. Customer service was great. It was so good that we ate and drank everything! “Although we arrived slightly before dinner time, we got seated right away by Dexter. He was very hospitable and we talked small talk before we ordered food and drinks.
Dexter and his partner Yakob (hope I’m spelling it right) are very professional, friendly and make you feel at home.
The food is delicious, freshly made from scratch and finger licking good. Dexter grew up in the Philippines and also in Malaysia and Singapore. so the food is a perfect fusion from these three countries.
We ordered Lumpia, sinigang soup, Kare-kare, coconut vegetable curry. Portions are very generous.
Overall, an absolute must place to eat while in Carmel. Please do visit this place and give it a try.“

“We came in on a saturday afternoon and were able to find a table right away! The Bar side of the restaurant has happy hour every day from 4-6pm and their small plates and pizzas were on the food list! Their cocktails were all 8 dollars and house wines 7 dollars. We ate and each had a drink for under 40 dollars which seems absurd in Carmel! Not only affordable but the food was to die for! We had the Truffle Gnocchi which was easily the best gnocchi I've ever had and the White Truffle Pie was so fresh and full of mushrooms and onions! Dipping the crust in the leftover gnocchi sauce put it over the edge! Isabel was our server and she was kind and quick with everything! It was a wonderful little stop in Carmel, just off Ocean Ave!“

We ordered the Seafood Tower that had shrimp, oysters, tuna tartare, grilled octopus, and caviar, plus a white red & bleu salad and a massive tomahawk steak (around 40 oz) with broccolini. For dessert, we went with the Copa Banana cocktail, the Bougie Pear Cocktail, and the Valrhona Chocolate Terrine. Now, this dessert... layered chocolate decadence topped with honeycomb. So damn good

The seafood tower had highlights. Oysters were fresh, tartar was delish, shrimp was juicy, and the caviar was a nice touch, we definitely did some caviar bumps 😆. The octopus was a little on the salty side for me, but the texture was perfect. The tomahawk was a showstopper. We ordered it rare and it delivered. We even joked about taking the bone home to grill and gnaw on later 😆.

Cocktails & Desserts were next-level. The Copa Banana had that espresso-banana vibe that hit just right. Next time, I'm ordering that UP. The Bougie Pear was exactly what my wife wanted. That Valrhona Chocolate Terrine though…easily one of my favorite bites of the night.

Our server & bussers were friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations. The atmosphere was upscale but not stuffy. Vibrant, playing some beats I like. What an enjoyable evening all around.

Pricey? Yeah. Regrets? None. Would we go again? Absolutely. Next time, I’m going for the filet mignon 👀🤤“

“Went for my dads birthday per his request he wanted seafood. Using the Opentable app I saw this location offered the most variety. The appetizer were better tasting than the actual dishes themselves. The sand dabs lacked flavor, the best dish was a crab sandwich that my guest ordered. Staff was meh, no introduction, did not inform us of drinks nor specials, just what can I get you. Place is small, only a few tables and they are very close together. Cool place for a first time visit. Would not return.“
