“This is one of the best Ramen place I have been in the USA. The spicy ramen is one of the local favorite. We tried both traditional and spicy ramens and both are delicious. Atmosphere inside is also very lively. This is definitely place I visit again.“
“I come to LA from the east coast once or twice per year and I make my travel schedule around eating at Moto once per visit. The tan tan men ramen is absolutely the best ramen I have ever had. The broth is pure perfection... The side dishes are solid as well and the sushi is simple, but out of this world fresh and tasty. Sam is a great host. See you on my next trip Moto!!!“
“I came here a long time ago when the restaurant was still pretty new. this place offers curry dishes - ramen, rice, etc. we got the curry ramen and Keema noodle. both were decent, however I'm not a big curry fan, so the dishes were a little too heavy and rich for me. It's pretty comparable to other ramen restaurants in sawtelle but this place specializes in curry so if you're a fan of that I would recommend!“
“The best ramen in LA!!! I haven't been to any other ramen place since discovering this gem. Literally nothing else compares! They added a couple seats inside and have a lot of seating outside. Even their vegan ramen is amazing which most places can't get right. Can't wait to go back!“
“Make a reservation if you go here! We came on a Saturday afternoon and even though there were tables open they asked us if we had a reservation & when we said no they made us wait which threw us off a little! That being said, it's a gorgeous location and the ramen is amazing. The broth is absolutely divine & love that they gave an abundance of toppings. I will be back!“
“I actually really like these noodles. Different than ramen. Noodles and broth served separate. Dip the noodles. Dip dip dip. I like that. The pork is tender and the soy egg is delicious. The serving is pretty good. It’s expensive for what you get but it’s good. You’ll like it. Trust me.“
“Sweet little takeout soot with pleasing mod interior design & thoughtful touches throughout. We enjoyed the two vegan options and they each had very distinct flavor profiles, the spicy one being quite hot by default but still delicious. Really nice service and kind people. Highly recommend!“
“This was my first experience with mazemen and it did not disappoint. It was a recommendation from my buddy who lives locally and I will absolutely return. The vinegar adds a delicious change in flavor profile and compliments the egg yolk and the fatty flavor and umami taste and mouth feel. This was one of my favorite things I’ve eaten in the last year to be honest. Fantastic food. Great little atmosphere and great service. Totally decent pricing too.“
“The food was delicious! The black ramen was so good delicious and flavorful. The spicy ramen had a unique taste spicy for me. The chicken with sauce was very tasty. The food was served quickly great serve.Parking: The parking was full when I arrived parking lot a bit small for all the stores in shopping center“
“For the price it’s a 10/10 meal!!Service: 10/10Note: make sure to put ur name on wait listWhat I ordered:Scallop sashimi - 10/10, fresh, vibrant flavours.Nigiri sampler- 9/10 very fresh and good quality fish. A little too much rice for me.Burnt garlic ramen- 8/10 I’m more traditional in my flavours. But it’s peoples favourite.Tuna crispy rice 10/10. Can’t complain“
“Exceptional! Awesome little spot with an interesting location. Who knew the bottom of an office building could be so well executed as a restaurant? First, the food was amazing. I had the California roll, the avocado roll, and the cucumber roll. All were good, though I thought the California roll had the crab-to-avocado and cucumber ratio mixed up. Too much crab for my liking. Our service was efficient and friendly, quickly filling us up with water and attending to our needs. I would 100% return!“
“Tsujita has been a stable of Sawtelle’s competitive Asian food scene for years. It’s one of the few places you can get authentic tsukemen (dipping noodles) in town. When you are done dipping, ask the server to add hot broth into your bowl of sauce to make it a greasy but delightful finish to your meal. The only note I had this time was the dipping sauce seemed a tiny less flavorful and thick than the first time I came here years ago. But, the noodles were still the same amazing quality of chewy and slurpy. Finally, the tsukemen doesn’t have many options for veggies, so keep that in mind if you bring a veggie lover.“
“It was a marvelous night out to eat. This place is genuinely incredible - sushi, ramen, bowls, apps & everything. Also the vibe is just chill w great service.Anne was my waitress & she steered me in the right direction w/ the salmon bowl that was fuego. Thanks,Ryan“
“It’s a unique take on ramen, good depth of flavor, great noodles, but for me the truffle dominates and the richness of the soup is too buttery. Like it for something new, but I prefer a more traditional take. I like truffle and I have had a dozen bowls in Tokyo. I was expecting the price, but at the end of the night it felt too steep.“
“The woman who attended me was amazing!! I really loved the strawberry milk and the pork belly was very delicious. I was just a little disappointed in the egg since it was warm on the outside but really cold in the inside which made me lose my appetite. The noodles also tasted too much like eggs in which I don’t really enjoy. The soup was really good though and again the pork belly tastes amazing!!“
“DAMN! The best killer noodles! The noodles can go as hot as you want, from a scale of 1 through 6. My limit is 3 but I'm more comfortable with a level 2. Even at 2, I'm sweating. Every now and then, when I'm in a mood to torture myself with amazing spices, I go here. Try it, you will understand!“
“Found this spot last week when a storm passed by Los Angeles. It was all seats taken but I was able to do a take a take out. Wasn't really expecting something just something to eat when we got home. It was good. Unique flavor. I tried the miso and soy ramen.Today I brought the whole family we had a lot to eat I wanted to try the menu. We will be taking out some food for tommorow but I'm happy with the food.“
“I’ve been coming here for well over a decade now, and it remains remarkably consistent. The ramen is delicious, the topping choices are vast enough to never run out of potential combinations, the service staff are always friendly and enthusiastic, and the vibe is always bustling with life. The spot continues to thrive for this long for a reason – it’s a definite stop for anyone that enjoys ramen and Japanese food generally.“
“Chibiscus is one of my favorite ramen joints in all of LA because the quality and price can't be beat. Their Tonkotsu is so full of flavor! When ordering takeout, the broth comes separate from the bowl ingredients so you can pour over when you're ready. Even to-go it's some of the best flavor you can find with ramen. Ingredients taste fresh and filling always. Service is pretty on the ball considering ramen can take a bit to prepare. You could sub proteins and ingredients to tailor to your dietary needs which was nice! The inside is relatively small and it's in an unexpected random strip mall, but don't sleep on this one!“
“Amazing, authentic ramen in an unassuming strip mall. Reasonable prices for the high quality. Gyoza was perfect ratio of filling to wrapper. We tried a few dishes but the Tantan Men was the winner for me. Broth was layered with flavors between the spice, the flavor oil and the pork. Definitely recommend.“
“This place sure is great. I got the OG plate and everything is so jam packed with flavor there is no need for the salsa although still very tasty. The birria is so tender it almost melts in your mouth. Also the churros are probably the best I’ve ever had with a crunchy fried golden brown exterior and tender almost gooey interior. My only issue is that everything is so small but I guess that’s just California Mexican cuisine.“
“I love the ramen at Jidaya, especially their tonkotsu - it’s thick, rich and tasty. They’re very consistent, too. But to be honest, I thought about giving it 2 star so it doesn’t get too busy but post pandemic, everyone restaurant could use the business.“
“We lived upstairs from this place for a while and we still miss it. The food is great, service is quick, and we ate there a lot. Fresh wasabi, great rolls, good appetizers. Last time we were there we came in at the end of the night and they graciously served us right before closing, everything was delicious. We really miss just getting a shrimp tempura after work at the Pantages.“
“This is one of the best Asian foods I have ever had. Amazing services, they really made me feel at home. The soup and dumplings I ordered were amazing ? ? I definitely recommend this restaurant.Vegetarian options: Great optionsParking: Plenty spaces for parking, no issues finding a spotKid-friendliness: Good for the family and KiddosWheelchair accessibility: They do have that service“
“A lovely little place with authentic Japanese ramen and more! They were actually waiting when we came in (it was rainy and I think we were the first for the early afternoon) and yes, they ARE Japanese. My "nihongo" is not great, but the woman who welcomed us was all smiles and when I mentioned how it was KINDA cold ("chotto samui desu") she laughed and immediately started to speak in Japanese* and told us to sit wherever we wanted. She worked mostly in the kitchen area, but also took orders, while another older woman took our order but she, too, was very friendly. (*no, they speak English, you don't have to speak Japanese :-D )My wife and I started with the Chili Garlic Edamame, which is served warm and the flavor of the sauce it comes in was very tasty. We couldn't finish these because we dove into our entree's, but reheating them, at home, we finished the rest! They give you quite a lot of them!My wife got the spicy ramen and, not having had curry in quite a while, I ordered the chicken katsu curry. I will say, I was subject to LOTS of cheap ramen for a couple years, in my twenties, and it turned me off of ANY ramen, going forward... However, first my wife offered me the pork that came in the soup and it was very flavorful and the broth was great (you actually get the spicy seasoning as a little "blob" you stir into the rest of the broth) once I tasted that. So, I went ahead and tried the ramen noodles and I think I MIGHT try my own bowl the next time I go. It doesn't hurt that it was a rainy day and it was so nice, inside their place, with the warm soup... ;-)My katsu curry was great.. They actually serve the plate as rice, the katsu chicken and a japanese salad (can't remember what the greens were called) and the curry is separate so you can pour as much at a time as you want. The flavor was rich, just a little sweet, but not like some "Curry House" places that make the sweet overtake the savory. Overall it was just a great experience in this quaint, yet warm, restaurant. ** Also funny was that, while we were waiting for our food, I noticed that whatever music channel that was going was playing Miyazaki movie songs. Just added to the charm of the place for me... "Arigatou gozaimashite, Palms Ramen Yumeya!" :-)“
“OH WE WENT IN AT THIS PLACE! The wait was not long at all. Service was good, staff was attentive. My daughter just started getting into hand rolls & she said this is her new fave spot for them! My favorite roll had to be the bluefin bombshell! I'd go back for that alone! My bestie had Sapporo & it paired nicely with the rolls. The nigiri quality was quite good too, not my favorite but still good. The place isn't too big, but it's cute for an intimate lunch or dinner.“
“I checked out The ramen Joint after landing at LAX and was not disappointed. The veggie ramen was incredible and so was the service. The chefs was super cool and chatted to me and gave me some of his delicious chilli oil to take home. Everyone who worked there was really friendly and made me feel welcome. I’ll definitely be back.Parking: Easy parking on the block“
“Really great sushi restaurant… we eat sushi a lot and this is high quality, yet reasonably priced. Very cosy inside, service was excellent & particular favourites were the Seared Salmon, Spicy Tuna (no.2) and the Lauren Roll. Highly recommend!“
“Koreans must go here!!The owner's wife is Korean and she is very kind.I had tonkotsu ramen and Asahi salmon roll and it was really delicious. I went there without a plan, but it was a great success, and since I was traveling, they gave me a lot of useful tips!!If you ask for the avocado to be omitted from the roll, it will be omitted, and in general, I think you can customize the roll to your liking! It's a short walk from Ovation Hollywood, so I highly recommend it if you want to eat warm soup..??“
“This place has become a Weho staple. I live down the street and am so happy they exist. The fried Brussel sprouts and spicy tuna over fried rice are a must. Service is super fast and friendly. If you’re looking for a bang for your buck sushi place in Weho, this is it!“
“This Umemura ramen is very busy too crowded in the afternoon especially weekends. Open everyday closed on Tuesdays. I enjoy eating kanitama fried rice & chashu ramen. The table & the counter is nice, clean & convenient. The service & the atmosphere is great. This Gardena location wins. Japanese, many Asian, Hispanic & American people visit frequently. 100% recommended. Unfortunately nor credit or debit cards aren’t accepted. CASH ONLY.“
“I'm not sure what the low ratings are about. It may not be the trendiest place, but it sure is a solid go-to for no frills, yummy ramen. The space is small and connected to a karaoke bar; some of the sound gets through. Value is their selling point. $9 gets you a satiating bowl of ramen while paying $3 more still gets you a heftyyyy size. The Kotteri Shoyu ramen was flavorful and the noodles were well-cooked. The only thing I would dock a star for is the chashu seeming a little dry or overdone for my liking, but that wouldn't be enough to stop me from coming back though. Service was quick. We were in and out in 20 min!“
“I wish more stars were an option because quite honestly, this place rules. They need a whole chain of these across California, but I'll tell you a a secret; it's not just the location, atmosphere, deliciously grub food, or the more than reasonable prices, no. The real gem of this place is Juan.Above and beyond customer service, always makes you feel like you came home after a long day, and such a genuine spirit. If you couldn't tell 20/10 WILL do it again. If you have the pleasure, and luck, to go, get the premium poke bowl, the spam musubi, the chashu pork kimchi fries, and the spicy fried rice. I guarantee your eyes will rotate so far back into the back of your head it'll be like you were reborn.“
“I've lived in this area almost 3 years and have been wanting to try it since. It definitely didn't disappoint. The crispy rice and spicy tuna was on point. Large portions and truly crispy.I had the vegan ramen , ordered spicy but was hardly spicy. We asked for more chili paste. The noodles weren't as soft as I like but that's a personal preference I guess. My son had the seafood ramen which he enjoyed.I also really enjoyed their Thai Tea. Most places make it too sweet but here, it was just right.Space is small but we saw two large groups seated comfortably inside.Would definitely come back and try other items.“
“I was looking for ramen with a parking a this spot is amazing. You can park inside the building. Mild spicy is really mild spicy and I appreciated it. Thin noodles and the soup is amazing. Tried the Thai tea for the 1st, it goes really well with the bowl I took.I’ll visit again for sure“
“Great ramen! Pork broth was very porky and the cha shu was perfectly salty and sweet. The vegetable broth had a surprising amount of flavor. The noodles were bouncy and just the right thickness. Clean dining room. Cute set up. Will be returning!“
“I have been to Golden Gai in Shinjuku in Tokyo and let me tell you that the inside of this place is designed to look EXACTLY like an izakaya alley like that. So needless to say, the vibe is great. And thankfully they were playing j-pop too. But most importantly, the Ramen was totally on-point. Great broth, tender pork chashu, and fresh-tasting noodles. I also like the insulated steel mugs they served the beer in. Great place. A must-try in LA.“
“So, I was on the hunt for a spot in El Segundo that could dish out some authentic flavors and offer a great vibe for New Year's Eve. Lo and behold, Japonica came to the rescue. The parking situation? Surprisingly painless. Considering the holiday buzz, it was manageable - nothing compared to the Friday or Saturday night madness, I reckon. Now, let's talk eats. We kicked things off with the crispy rice, and let me tell you, it was genuinely crispy - almost like a high-end hashbrown. Then came the carpaccio trio - bluefin tuna with balsamic, yellowtail with garlic ponzu, and Scottish salmon with onion ginger dressing. Fresh and tasty, exactly as promised on the menu. The mix of flavors made the whole dining affair a delight. On to the rolls - Kyoto Kryptonite, Citrus Sakura, and White Lightning. My personal winner was the White Lightning, a sushi roll with garlic butter, a first for me. Seared albacore and tempura white fish - it was a flavor bomb. Kyoto Kryptonite appealed to my spice-loving side with its spicy tuna, and while Citrus Sakura brought some traditional vibes, it wasn't my top pick given the other vibrant choices. Now, about the joint itself - a medium-sized setup that handled the holiday crowd like a pro. The food took a tad longer to arrive than expected, and our waiter was on an apology spree. Lucky for us, we were deep in conversation, so time flew. But the waiter's vibe low-key hinted at placing an order sooner rather than later. An interesting note: Our dishes were delivered and checked on by different folks. I'm guessing the waitstaff doesn't claim specific tables, but hey, it worked smoothly. All in all, Japonica left me pretty darn satisfied. I'll happily roll back for another round. Cheers to good eats and a chill atmosphere!“
“So I've had their food a few more times now. This is just an excellent restaurant. Delicious and pristinely fresh nigiri, gracious and smart service, a menu to please almost any taste. And the best ponzu I've ever tasted. If they don't make it in house which I'm assuming they do, then I need to know where they get it. It's the most intense umami flavor ever. Always happy after a meal from here.“
“This spot nails it with awesome ramen and killer fried shrimp. The ramen’s got this tasty broth and noodles just right in texture, while the shrimp are all about that crunch with a juicy kick inside. It’s the kind of place you’d go for both the vibes and the eats, served up with a smile. Definitely a go-to for anyone looking to chow down on some real-deal flavors.“
“Let's start with the service extremely helpful and very fast. You can choose to use the kiosk to or order at the register. Personally I usually walk away with the "build your own" adding an extra egg and green onions. Though no matter what you go for I'm sure you will love it.“
“This place is a hidden gem! Honestly I was expecting a cute little restaurant when I first pulled up. My friend found this place on Yelp and I just put it on the GPS. I ordered the build your own regular and it came out to be about $15. The Hawaiian salmon was delicious!! This poke place did not disappoint. I've been to other poke places and they don't compare.“
“seaweed salad and gyoza were great to start! the ambiance feels moderately dedicated towards japanese culture which is always a plus. they may have been understaffed when I came, but service was a bit weak. The ramen entree left a bit more to be desired flavor-wise, but I do really appreciate the vibe in the establishment. I would come again!“
“What an experience!!Waiters are not only serving you, they tell you much about dishes, specials and the history and origin of many of specialsLike a little museum tour through sushi world.Amazing sushi with dishes innovative and so delicious, you want more of everything you try.And to top it off - about half the costs of nearby omakase on Montana and other on WilshireThat one is a keeper“
“Had an amazing time with my friends. We went out and walked Murphy's Ranch(Another destination I'd recommend!) and ended up heading towards the pier for some seafood. We didn't really see much that called to us, so we came to Jinya. I'm vegetarian, so I really try to stay away from meats, but I still consume dairy and eggs. They had only Vegan options but it's very easy to change them into Vegan. We started with the Impossible Gyoza and it blew my mind. For plant based meat, it was hard to tell it wasn't real meat. They were so good.I got the Spicy Cream Ramen and it was AMAZING!!!! It was so perfectly done and packed with vegetables, it hit the spot perfectly. My egg was a little too runny, even after keeping it under the hot broth, but even that was tasty. The staff was also very sweet. I'm sad I failed to get her name, but she had a kind smile and a great attitude. I'd definitely come again. It was so worth it, and the food was fair priced.“
“Best and only drive thru ramen and yakitori. The food is made fresh while you wait and is so good. There are lots of options for ramen plus rice bowls. Friendly staff too!Vegetarian options: Veggie rice bowls and veggie ramenParking: Located in a strip mall with lots of parkingKid-friendliness: Always friendly staff no matter what time of day, they couldnt be nicer“
“Possibly the best ramen in the area. Get the salt ramen. The soup has a deep richness with some hint of fermentation, possibly miso or mirin. The pork belly is tender and fresh. The toppings varied and were complimentary. Pricing is a great deal. Overall, such a hidden gem for the “
“Excellent food, the miso soup was fantastic and the baked salmon roll was pretty good. The music videos playing were great and a good source of entertainment. However, the service we were given was slow and inattentive. They seemed to only care a little more when my friend commented that it was my birthday. Aside from that, great place for good food.“
“I came here looking for tonkotsu ramen. The store is small. It was perfect for a quick bite to eat.Is the taste ready? The soup was tonkotsu ramen.I was told that the restroom was in the back of the store, but I couldn't find it.Parking: There isn't much parking space, but it seems like it's spinning around.“
“1st timer visiting the bestie. Was in need of some really good soup for losing my voice and found this gem!Since 1994 was all I kept seeing and let’s say that broth proved why they have been around for so long! DELICIOUS broth!GLUTEN FREE noodles - rice noodles. Ordered two different ramens gluten free to go and enjoyed a hot green tea while I waited.PARKING IS TERRIBLE - it’s a small lot and very hard to park but hopefully you find a spot. The ramen is worth it.Opens at 5pm - could get packed.“
