“I’m touring a condo in Oakland for a client making an offer and I stop for a quick bite at a tiny sandwich place next to the Grand Lake Theater. OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. Jerry’s the best and I love this place. Can’t wait to tell my client about it!! “I got the special combo ham sandwich without cilantro and jalapeno - but I found a jalapeno in my sandwich. My partner also found jalapeno in #20 grilled pork with lemon grass even it was ordered with no jalapeno. Beside that complaint, the banh mi was really good! The bread is soft and crunchy without hurting the roof of our mouth and it's fully stuffed with the meats and veggies while being affordable!

Although the inside of the shop is clean and organized, the streets is seemingly sketchy and dirty looking so be cautious. It might be hard to find parking.

Otherwise, it's worth to stop by to try!“

The sisig bolilo was hard to finish for 2 people, because they're was just so much in it! Amazing cut of fatty meat chopped up with 2(i think) juicy eggs. Their veg sandwich is also amazing. “This place is fantastic. The food is superlative, I've had the Corned Beef and Roast Turkey sandwiches and they were absolutely delicious. The place is completely non pretentious but with top quality fresh ingredients that some hipster joints could only dream of delivering. I'm a stickler for corned beef, I'm from NY, they do it right here. No BS, good value. Only downside is it's take out only. Worth it.“

“I used to live in the area. This place is just as it was 10 yeat ago. The same people working in the kitchen. The same grumpy old man taking the orders. Absolutely terrible service. But the food is the best. The pastrami sandwich is soooo good. Soooo good. Well the only thing that changed is the price. The prices did go up. I told the old grumpy man that was taking the order that his food was sooo good. He grunted and moved his head up and down once at the same time not even looking at me. “This sandwich shop was hard to find at first, but once you know, you'll never forget it. This shop shares its space with the Loards ice cream shop. I ordered their Hot Butt sandwich which was unique and tasty! I do wish they could offer sourdough rolls as a bread choice. “I've been getting coffee and eating lunch here weekly for years. I just changed jobs and no longer work on Filbert st and am sad to not come here regularly anymore. The prices are excellent, the menu has tons of options and I've enjoyed all of the things I've tried. I love their espresso, even go out of my way to come here for coffee from other neighborhoods sometimes. They make excellent salads and sandwiches especially their superb breakfast sandwich. One of the only places you can still get a decent espresso drink for under $5. And their jamaica agua fresca is off the chart! Highly recommended!“

“I had a very good experience in this place, people are very nice and friendly. The food was on point I ordered a Michael Jordan and it was totally worth it. Also I went on lunch time and I didn’t expected to get my sandwich too fast, I will come back soon.“

“At no fault of there's the coupons in the app should be able to get used at the store and not just mobile. I like subway service was ok. It's a little disheartening that they have to be barricaded by a thick glass. Was worried about freshness... but it's fresh. The ladies were sweet.

“My partner and I went her for dinner the other night while they are doing the sidekick promotion offering a footlong churro, pretzel, and cookie. Our subs were good and the footlong sidekicks were rather mixed. The churro was just decent, nothing to write home about, the pretzel was more like a bagel than a pretzel in reality although the honey mustard was good. But the cookie, the cookie was amazing, Delectable even. The meltiness of the chocolate chips in the cookie, the sheer quantity of cookie I was presented with, everything you could imagine and more. We were able to get 2 nights out of the cookie which obviously wasn't as good as the first night but overall still very solid.“
