“We were spending the weekend in San Diego for my wife’s birthday and I contacted Elite baking to make a cake and deliver it to the hotel. They were extremely easy to work with and communication was great. They delivered the cake to the hotel we were staying at prior to our arrival and were very accommodating. The best part, the cake looked amazing and tasted even better. I would definitely order from them again and recommend to anyone.“

“I wanted to share a great experience I had recently. I bought Bundtinis for my niece’s 16th birthday during our trip to San Diego. The front desk cashier noticed her individual cake had turned upside down, so they generously gave me that one for free and replaced it with a nicer one. They certainly didn't have to do that, but as out-of-towners celebrating a big milestone, we truly appreciated the thoughtful gesture. The treats were perfect for our beach day and everyone enjoyed them!“

“They made the best Swedish Princess cake for my mil’s 95th birthday. It was beautiful and such a big hit, everyone loved it. “I’m sorry to say I forget the name of the absolute gem of a woman who helped me decide on a flavor today at around 2PM, but she was fantastic! She helped me decide what to get and gave me the chance to try a flavor I wouldn’t have chosen for myself, the cinnamon roll cake, which was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had!!! Thank you so much to her, both my friend and I felt very lucky to be celebrating our birthdays there!“

“First time ordering a cake here, and my family and I agree, this is our new birthday cake spot! I ordered a red velvet cake as requested by my 17 year old birthday girl. I'm not usually a fan of red velvet cake personally, but I would eat Babycakes' red velvet again in a heartbeat. It was beautiful and delicious. The cake was moist, the cream cheese icing was light and fluffy, and it included a raspberry filling which was a pleasant surprise that really made boring red velvet flavor (in my opinion) something special and interesting.

A lot of bakery cakes are sweet enough to take the enamel off your teeth but this cake was just the right sweetness for our tastes. If you dislike the intense sweetness of many of the chain cake bakeries, you too will probably like Babycakes. Service at the Hillcrest location was friendly and efficient, too. We will definitely be ordering our future cakes from here.“

“I don’t usually make much of small outings anymore, but this Sunday I found myself stepping into Cold Stone Creamery for a simple cup of ice cream. At 58, a man starts to feel the years settle into his bones a bit, and I’ll admit I don’t often feel like the young fellow I once was.

But standing there at the counter, listening to those two young men behind it carrying ontossing jokes back and forth, laughing like they didn’t have a care in the world I couldn’t help but smile. Before I knew it, we were talking about women, about school, about what they wanted to do with their lives. It was lighthearted, easy conversation, the kind that reminds you of days when everything felt wide open and possible.

The ice cream itself was nothing to write home about, truth be told. At my age, I have to think about my diet more than I’d like to. But the experience that feeling of being included in their laughter, of sharing a few minutes of simple joy well, that was sweeter than anything in the cup.

If I didn’t have to worry about cholesterol and waistlines, and if every visit felt the way that one did, I dare say you’d find me in that shop far more often. For a brief moment, those boys made an old man feel young again, and that’s worth more than a scoop of ice cream.“

“I’m usually not a fan of the tipping culture, especially at places like frozen yogurt or ice cream shops where you’re asked to tip before you’ve even had any interaction. But this Cold Stone changed my mind.

I didn’t catch the younger guy’s name, but he was exactly what customer service should be. He actually made conversation, asked how my day was, and didn’t just go through the motions. I know it’s a small thing, but if you’re going to ask someone how they’re doing, at least make it genuineand he did. That’s the kind of service that actually earns a tip.

The whole crew was friendly, the ice cream was great, and the experience stood out because of the people working there. Give these guys a raise, a promotion, or both. This is the kind of customer service more businesses need.“

“I went in to redeem my birthday reward (I received an email about it, so I thought it was valid), but it didn't show up in their system. Maybe because it was June 30th and with my birthday being on July 4th, the reward wouldn't activate until July 1st. Either way, Naz, the associate working at the time, was incredibly patient and kind my entire visit, graciously accommodating me.

I will definitely be back to this store as it's nearby all my favorite shops, with incredible customer service to boot!“
