“The first time I came to this restaurant to eat rice noodles, I was really amazed! The side dishes are super rich, each one is fresh, clean, and the amount is sufficient. The soup base has a strong flavor but not greasy. The rice noodles are very elastic and have a smooth taste. There are also beef rolls, vegetables, and eggs, each bite is very satisfying. The waiter is also very friendly, with lemon in the kettle, very thoughtful. The overall experience is particularly good, I will come again next time!“

As the name mingei implies, the restaurant is a carefully curated international exhibit of food and the cultures that celebrate it in their own unique ways. The staff are docents for your culinary adventure and the chefs are masters of their craft. Some of my best bites in San diego in the past couple years, came from Artifact and I cannot wait to go back with more uninitiated.“

“The beef noodle soup was super delicious and was enough to feed me and my mother. It contained tone of meat which was really tender and the broth was overall phenomenal. The popcorn chicken was also really good as it wasn’t too big and served as a great snack I would highly recommend coming here.“

“One of the best authentic and reasonable Chinese restaurant that I dined at in San Diego. It’s a small but very good restaurant with lots of options. Unfortunately I was there when many of their specialty dishes weren’t available because of Chinese new year and so many customers. But the dishes that we did have were outstanding. Also, very reasonable. Six of us had a very good and large dinner and we only spent about $130. Good start to be new year!“

We ordered the creamy bun (hot creamy lightly sweet excellent) bbq pork bun (a little sweet for my taste but still really good fluffy delicious), scallion pancake (could have had more scallion but it was really crispy!), sezchuan chili oil wonton (lightly spicy and numbing really good wonton with the peanut!) the dandan noodles (very nutty delicious noodles) and the Xiao long bao (delicious hot and the ginger was fresh) Was really pleased about the scan to order at the table! We ordered their popular braised beef noodle soup and it was really good. I recommend that dish. The beef was very tender and goes perfectly with their chewy flat thick noodles. They gave us scissors to cut the noodles. I wish they were larger scissors.
The cold sesame noodle was ok. The sauce got pretty thick and the dish became clumpy. The tea egg was a bit disappointing. The appetizer we ordered with the thin crepes was pretty good though.“

“Just keep in mind I came here on a Monday at 6 PM so we didn't have to wait for a table or battle for parking. This parking lot was not turned into a paid lot try. It's where Chorus and Hive are. It's still fairly new so the menu is slightly limited. We saw photos of dishes on the wall but were told they were not available until next year. The jjajangmyeon was slightly watery. I got the "meat" one so there were strips of grilled pork. My husband got the "spicy" one which was green chili on top. It was not crazy spicy according to him but it was not that painful spicy. We got the chili shrimp and I really liked that. It was crispy, fried jumbo shrimp over with sweet chili sauce on a bed of cabbage. It had enough heat making your lips feel some heat. I liked it even though it's not a fancy dish. If I don't have to come on a busy weekend night I'm down to come back.

Oh just be ready to order on really slow tablets but your order gets through as long you're patient with the tablets. The tables are far enough where you feel like you're not on top of each other like at other restaurants in Convoy.“

“Great local Thai food. I wish I tried this restaurant sooner. I didn’t even know it existed in this center for 3 years. Lunch specials are well priced and fulfilling.
The veg soup, spring rolls and gyoza were so fresh. Spicy noodles excellent. I like spicy food and the 5 was pretty spicy. They go 1-10, so I would probably do a 3 or 4 next time with extra spice on the side if needed.
Great for a quick bite before picking up the kids.“

Tried other restaurants in LA china town and still not as good as this one. Even though i live farther away mow, i still drive there to get their special noodle soup (been eating since i was 5), eveyone i introduced this restuarant too now loves it. People who loves pho, once they try there noodles soup they can't do pho anymore. Fried egg noodles soup also to die for, including their thick fried noodles, i can go on forever with all their different dishes that will show you what asain/homemade style food is. I've tasted many different chinese food from here to Seattle/Mexicali and this to me is still the restaurant that others try to match up too. ??????“

Everyone obviously comes here for the viral Crab Rangoon Burrito, which is understandable. Personally, it was a little bit overwhelming for me. Maybe I would feel differently if o had someone else to share it with, but it was a lot of cream cheese for one sitting and a lot sweeter than I anticipated. The real star of the show is their Spicy Basil Steak Burrito. I can’t even find the words to describe how good it was. All I know is that I was surprised that it wasn’t the menu item that everyone was going crazy over. 12 out of 10, unlike anything I’ve ever eaten before in the form of a burrito. They charge $1 for literally the smallest piece I've ever seen and when I called to voice my concern about feeling ripped off, they didn't care. “We discovered this restaurant pre-pandemic. Im glad it made it through. We have a calm dinner. Place was not busy during our visit. Guess thats the advantage of going out on a weekday night, with foggy weather.
We enjoyed our brisket pho. Meat slices were thick, wish they were tender and the broth was good, might need to be less salt. Tofu pad thai was good, i opt for mild spice 4/10, in case my toddler wants to try it. Me and my husband loved the Ka Na Moo Krob.
We don't know whats it in the water other than the lemon, but it taste good. We appreciate being given big bottles if water instead of waiting for someone to refill. And thank you for keeping the washroom clean.“

“I owe Shin, our waiter for tonight, a life debt for the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life. He single handedly grew our crops, raised our children, did our homework, made us laugh, and got us our food in record time still steaming. He wins a gold record in serving and if he has a boss who is reading this, he deserves a raise and also maybe a smooch on the cheek. “We were actually trying to eat at another restaurant in the same plaza but couldn't get a table for Friday night (all tables there were already booked for the entire night). So we ended up here. We weren't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the uni and ikura rice bowl which came with miso soup, fried tofu, and pickled cabbage. Everyone else ordered other items (poke bowls and chirashi bowl). We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. My favorite were the dishes with tofu, you can tell it was freshly made. Even with the miso soup, it was so soft and silky.
The restaurant itself felt homey and something you'd stumble into in Japan. It was a little small/tight, but we had enough room to sit comfortably. The staff were all very nice.
I'd definitely come back again.“
