“I’ve been to the DTLA Arts District location so many times, so I was shocked (in the best way) to discover this one so close to home. The space is modern, clean, and has a cool vibe — though I still lean toward the unique Arts District atmosphere. What really stands out is the pizza: same incredible quality as DTLA. Blindfold me and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

The only thing to keep in mind is that pizza by the slice can add up — if you’re thinking of grabbing more than two, a fresh pie might be the smarter move. Either way, I’m thrilled to have another amazing spot nearby!“

“Fun frozen yogurt shop, with the *widest* array of toppings I've ever seen. Fun vibe, delicious flavors of frozen yogurt, friendly staff.It helped transform (in my kids' minds) a long museum visit we had just finished into a happy memory. A reasonable spoonful of sugar for the win!“

“If you haven't been to the The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens for a while... you may not realize they now and growing have 5 different locations to eat within the gardens. Noodle house in the Chinese Gardens, Tea house and patio Cafe in the Rose Garden area. Tea Room now allows you to make reservations on Open Table. Cafe 1919 has a great variety including the Border Grill, Sushi and much more. ... Its all a great compliment to the Fine Art ,gardens ,research and events.... Not a member - The Red Car Cafe and 1919 Cafe are towards the entrance and can be enjoyed by the without entrance fee to the gardens in a great relaxing setting .“

“I've been plant-based for over 10 years... this Deli proved to be TOP TIER in my experience. The owner gave his wife all the credit for the recipes too, so you know the vibes are right. This further affirmed the intentionality of flavor, ingredient use, and pairings. I literally order a new sandwich of theirs every weekend, and I'm continuously fulfilled, not to mention I feel like I still have tons to taste test. Their menu is ample. When I finally made it to the shop to see where the magic happened, I was further enamored with the deli offerings. Literally all of it: the array of protein offerings, the Rebel Cheese they sell, the ingredient knowledge demonstrated by the staff... I happily overspent. This place is food science taken to the next level of flavor. Queso dip is a must-try, and the Gouda-Steak sandwich is a star. That being said, I've never not loved a menu item here. Grateful for their mission and vision, and flavor achievement!“

“Had a great meal here before a show at the Paramount. My husband had fajitas and I had the potato dish with added rosemary potatoes 🤩. I couldn’t finish mine - very filling but absolutely delicious. “Amazing place for motorcycle enthusiasts! Finally a place we can all hang at thats nit harley davidson ir a biker bar, although they DO serve decent alcohol here, the real star is that “Sunday Roast Chicken” specially after a oong day’s worth of riding“

On to the food - Gourmet Carribean is a must try! the oxtails, jerk chicken, curry chicken, chick peas and the Friday special, Jerk Salmon. Everything I've tried is delicious. “Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“Went for the spicy wonton soup and was happy with the fact that even though it was a medium spice it still had the mouth numbing effect you would find with some hotter soups. And now I know for the next time that I should order extra spicy if I really want to feel the heat of their food. And also ask for the hand pulled noodles if they suggest noodles for you!“

“The atmosphere and service are excellent! Unfortunately the food was just okay. Lacking flavor, I got the spicy quartz and my girlfriend got the standard quartz.
The chicken in the ramen itself was pretty tasteful. Had a hint of sweetness.

The chicken karage was excellent.

Overall it was okay. We'll continue to try the other ramen places on the same street.

“The food was excellent. We had the salmon roll and rainbow sushi (highly recommend the salmon roll) as well as the chicken curry and gyoza. The quality of the food was very high and flavorful!

It's very rare that you go to a restaurant and know that the staff loves the restaurant. There was one person running the entire front of the house, but she was always genuinely smiling and at the end of our meal gave us cookies that her and her brother (the cook) had as children!

We especially enjoyed the little slice of history this restaurant is a part of!“
