“I’ve been to the DTLA Arts District location so many times, so I was shocked (in the best way) to discover this one so close to home. The space is modern, clean, and has a cool vibe — though I still lean toward the unique Arts District atmosphere. What really stands out is the pizza: same incredible quality as DTLA. Blindfold me and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

The only thing to keep in mind is that pizza by the slice can add up — if you’re thinking of grabbing more than two, a fresh pie might be the smarter move. Either way, I’m thrilled to have another amazing spot nearby!“

“Fun frozen yogurt shop, with the *widest* array of toppings I've ever seen. Fun vibe, delicious flavors of frozen yogurt, friendly staff.It helped transform (in my kids' minds) a long museum visit we had just finished into a happy memory. A reasonable spoonful of sugar for the win!“

“If you haven't been to the The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens for a while... you may not realize they now and growing have 5 different locations to eat within the gardens. Noodle house in the Chinese Gardens, Tea house and patio Cafe in the Rose Garden area. Tea Room now allows you to make reservations on Open Table. Cafe 1919 has a great variety including the Border Grill, Sushi and much more. ... Its all a great compliment to the Fine Art ,gardens ,research and events.... Not a member - The Red Car Cafe and 1919 Cafe are towards the entrance and can be enjoyed by the without entrance fee to the gardens in a great relaxing setting .“

Egg, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, salsa verde — and I added chorizo. The combination is layered, bright, and bold. The sun-dried tomatoes give it depth, the salsa verde cuts through beautifully, and the chorizo adds that extra savory punch. In my opinion, it actually outshined the bestseller. Just walking up to the restaurant is an experience in of itself with all the bright and vibrant colors coupled with great lighting and then the flavors starting hitting the nose to let you know you're in the right spot and the nose doesn't lie...it WAS the right spot. Ordered the Coconut Limeade which was STUPID GOOD, the Oxtail & Peppers Patty and the Honey Jerk Chicken comb which I subbed one side for the tostones and that was the best of presents I could've gave to myself because they were crazy delicious and also reminded me of an ex which twas a whole OTHER experience in of itself. Everything was seasoned well and each item complemented the other but and yes, buuut since we're in Hollywood, the starlet of this whole show, the chicken, wasn't all the way ready for the stage...the lower half had a mushy consistency while the upper thigh was just fine; it was strange and really bummed me out because it was close to a $50 takeout dinner and was almost 5 stars. Anywho, stuff happens but it took the motivation of me being a returning customer althoooough if I stare at the roti long enough, that could choice could very well change who knows. Stay up!“

Raw tuna has an absolutely superb taste. It’s of great quality and has a high turnover rate, ensuring that you can always enjoy fresh sushi. However, one unfortunate aspect is that we don’t take reservations, which means we have to wait for at least 20 minutes.“

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

Minced Pork (Lu-Rou) Rice, fully loaded delicious stewed pork with egg. Meats are juicy and tender, kinda on the sweet side. Clamshell bun (Gua Bao) comes with tender thick cut pork, a bit on the salty side, but very well cooked. Fatty but not greasy. Thousand layer pancake with egg and basil was crispy and flaky. The basil flavor is a wonderful addition. Scallion bread sandwich was what we expected. Same tender thick cut pork, very happy to eat this. Next time I will probably get the beef, too much pork belly today Wonton soup is very classic, if you like shrimp wontons, you have to try this. We ended the meal with Hakka mochi and Oolong tea, the mochi tasted just like the ones in Taiwan. The tea was fragrant and is just the perfect compliment to the mochi. Overall an amazing meal with warm and friendly people, highly recommend!“

The area it’s in is a bit rough, but this place is worth it. The inside is decorated nicely and it’s a nice atmosphere. The staff was nice and the even gave us cute holiday cookies. “My youngest daughter loves cooking ramen at home and I needed her to know what Little Tokyo and the soups at this location are about.

My family loved the welcoming from the staff. We were able to be seated immediately. We placed our order and while discussing the restaurant our plates were soon at the table. Not boiling hot but definitely not cold!

Overall, we enjoyed the food. I had the Spicy Quartz. Wife had the vegan spicy Quartz, my son had the Amber, and both my girls shared the Quartz. May I add free refills on the hot green tea!

“The best spicy Chinese Food in OC/LA area hands down! They have been Michelin recommended for a reason. Their food has lots of depth of umami flavors with a good amount of spice with a refined touch. Their none spicy broths are especially good too. My faves are their dry pots, toothpick lambs, Qiao Jiao Beef. We also like their spicy ribs and boiled fish in chilli sauce, and Mao cai. Service is great too!“
