“Ate here last month and still thinking about how fresh the sashimi was. I got the lunch bento with 3 options and chose; sashimi, saba (mackerel) and tempura. It came with a small salad, rice and miso soup. The total was close to 25 dollars and well worth it. The saba was grilled perfectly and the tempura was light, crunchy and not greasy at all. I came with a class group of maybe 10+ people. The students loved the menu also and the staff were so kind and accommodating. 10000% wish I could eat here every week. 1000% will be coming back.“

“First time after a referral and it did not disappoint! The food was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was clean and modern. The staff were so nice and came by multiple times to check on us. I had the Happy Together roll and a Saba hand roll which were so full of flavor. Will definitely be coming back!“

“New in town and looking to find a new favorite sushi place. And I think this is it. Everything tastes like really good quality. A good selection and the service was great. Prices were reasonable for the Bay area. It seemed like the staff also knew quite a bit of the the people who came in, perhaps as regulars“

“A few super authentic Japanese Restaurants in the Bay Area. Main Chef Eric is experienced 20+ years. You can ask his Omakase (Chef Choice). Once you taste Mikado’s super fresh Sushi and Sashimi, it is really hard to find the satisfaction from other places. Their Kitchen Items (grilled items, tempura, and Udon) also absolutely good.“

“One of our regular sushi spot in south bay. I’ve been coming here for 20 years and it never disappoints. The staff is extremely friendly and always remembers our favorites! I can’t wait for firefly squid season!

They serve fresh fish and always have a variety of options. This is not a typical over the top roll house if that is what you’re looking for. Come here for their nigiri and chirashi bowls they have always been solid!“

“I think it's good to be able to eat a lunch box for this price considering the location.
They also serve brown rice tea for free. I had the lunch bento box with a choice of 2 sides, $17.50. You can choose sushi rolls or nigiri sushi on the side, but there's plenty of white rice, so I personally recommend choosing a side dish. Personally, I'm concerned about the quality of the white rice. There's nothing wrong with vinegared rice, but that white rice is a no-no in Japanese food. The female staff member was very kind and managed the whole thing by herself. I think there was one craftsman who seemed to be Japanese.“

“This place has a good variety to choose from. I ordered rainbow and it had a strange aftertaste, which is probably from the crab mixture inside the roll. The rolls that my friend has ordered were fine and didn’t have that aftertaste. The fish was fresh, the food was ready pretty fast. Our kids love the kids meals (rice, miso soup, and salmon or chicken teriyaki) and the sushi train, where we usually pick a few rolls and mochi for dessert. We love the variety of the menu and freshness of the food most of the time. Depending on the day, the texture of the rice can be improved and sometimes the offerings on the sushi train are limited, but the excellent service more than makes up for it. The restaurant is full of regulars that the staff remembers. A few favorites from the menu include the tempura ramen, all of the rolls, the agedashi tofu and the mochi ice cream. Highly recommended as a family friendly establishment that serves above average food, a quiet and fun ambiance, and great service.“

“A random, last minute find on a Friday night with no wait and can accommodate a party of two with an infant in a carseat.
Quaint and no frills restaurant with omakase. Our omakase sashimi order was about 107 dollars, a bit pricey and presentation was not very impressive but every bite was so fresh! Their miso soup was quite delightful, better than most miso soup I’ve had.

Kid-friendliness: We brought our infant in a carseat in, placed the carseat on a chair and tucked it between the wall and the table. I see other families with small kids dining comfortably there too.“
