“Café Bunn Mi in South San Francisco is hands-down one of my favorite spots for comfort food!

Their garlic noodles are absolutely delicious full of flavor and perfectly cooked every time. I pay for extra noodles! I spoil myself like that all the time!

The imperial rolls and egg rolls are always crispy, fresh, and packed with goodness. For the imperial rolls I always pay for extra lettuce! They come with the vermicelli noodles and fish sauce!!!

Their fried chicken sandwich is another must-try: crunchy, juicy, and so satisfying.

And of course, you can’t forget the Thai iced tea sweet, creamy, and the perfect drink to tie it all together.

“2025/12/6: Kevin's Noodle House was full at dinner time on a Friday night. I love how fast the food comes out if you order noodles, even with a full restaurant. We ordered #2 pho L $16.50, 2x #1 pho L $15.25, beef stew $15.75 and wings $15.25. Everything tasted fine. It is classic Kevin's, solid Vietnamese food, around $20 a person. We were all pretty full when we left. Although, it would have been nice if there was an Asian dessert place nearby but there wasn't. Some teens we were with wanted some crepe cake or milk tea. Good job everyone at Kevin's Noodle House.

Original review: Pho Huynh Hiep (Kevin's Noodle House) is now on Grand Ave! How exciting. They are a no thrills Vietnamese pho restaurant not worthy of those click bait food social media food posts. That's what I like about them. The food is consistently good. I've been a fan of Kevin's pho since the early 2000's. This feels like a new restaurant without the slippery/sticky floors. It is not too loud either. The restaurant was full at dinner time, 6:30pm on a Tuesday. The staff here is more attentive than their Westlake or Pacifica location. The food comes out fast and my water was re-filled a few times. Tonight, I ordered their #2, pho dac biet bo vien M $14.25 substituted with egg noodles. The #2 is better than #1 because it comes with beef balls. Plus with the #2, you get an option to get a small or medium whereas the #1 is just large. My bi cuon, shredded pork roll with fish sauce appetizer $12 was OK. Needs peanut sauce.“

“Came in here for lunch with my kids. Pho was excellent. I got it made spicy and loved it. The hot Vietnamese coffee was spot on; other drinks looked really good. Pork bun was very good. Overall very clean, friendly service. Plenty of parking in the lot across the street. High-quality meat.“

“Pardon my photo quality, I got excited and only remembered to take one after digging in. This might be the best bun bo hue I’ve had. The broth was perfectly balanced with just a touch of sweetness that created the most savory umami flavor bomb. It’s a very rich broth that’s meaty in flavor but not overwhelming. There was so much tender beef shank in this bowl. I kept finding more and more. The noodles were perfectly soft yet chewy. Service was quick but still polite. I loved the miniature collection at the front door. My boyfriend’s pho was also a huge and satisfying portion full of tasty flavor. Can’t wait to come back!!“

“Amazing Banh Mi! Everything about it was amazing. I usually have trouble with the crispy portion but this bread had a thin crisp with a nice soft inner. When I went around 2pm they ran out of pork so I got a beef instead. No regrets because this is the best beef banh mi I've ever had. Very tender meat and well seasoned. I loved the amount of veggies packed in as well.

“I cannot say enough good things about Tin Vietnamese. Their pho has literally been getting me through my pregnancy. It always arrives incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the pho gà is perfection every single time. Big, tender chunks of chicken breast, flavorful broth, and consistently fresh ingredients — they never miss.

I even order extra broth with ginger to sip in the mornings, and it’s the only time I don’t feel nauseous and get morning sickness with my pregnancy. That’s how comforting and high-quality it is. The chả giò is always fresh, crunchy, and delicious too!

My fiancé is now completely hooked as well (which is great because we order at least once a week!). This place has become a staple in our home, and they have never disappointed. Highly, highly recommend.“

“Came by looking for some good food after a day in GGP. Did not disappoint. Purchased chicken and pork banh mi, Loved the pickled veggies, meat, mayo, and cilantro used. The only complaint is with the texture of the bread, pretty stale to the point it scraped up the mouth. Interior is small, able to seat 5 to 10 people but better for takeout. Make sure to grab some Sriracha chile sauce. I would definitely come back again but may get a bowl instead of a sandwich.“

There's no bean sprouts, Thai basil or hoisin sauce as it is northern style pho. This is my first time having julienned fresh ginger in pho. It prolly took them a lot work to slice them like that. While it didn't add anything to the taste of the pho, I can appreciate the effort. Not bad for San Francisco standards. I prefer going to SJ for some really good pho. “We tried Mango and Mint in Alameda for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, and it was such a pleasant surprise! The portion size was amazing for the price huge and definitely worth it, especially I love veggies! I ordered the grilled lemongrass pork chop with rice, and it was flavorful. Few seating capacity but that is totally fine since it it kinda quick service set-up.

The Thai milk tea was just how I like it rich with tea flavor, not overly sweet. We also had the pineapple coconut smoothie, and you could really taste the mint and kale refreshing and fun!

Service was great & the staff was friendly, and the menu is simple, with plenty of drink options. Overall, it’s such a wonderful local find a true underrated spot in Alameda.

“Just tried for the 1st time today and ordered takeout bbq pork banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Seems like a family owned mom&pop shop, super sweet friendly service. BBQ pork banh mi sandwich was excellent, perfectly toasted bread on the outside, soft on the inside (not hard and rough like other banh mi sandwiches that hurt the roof of your mouth), delicious BBQ pork flavor, stuffed with fresh yummy pickled veggies, flavors were spot on. Vietnamese iced coffee was good, could be a bit stronger and creamier for my tastes. Overall would highly recommend. Can't wait to come back. =)“

The service was very fast. The menu is small with one veggie/vegan option and 5-6 meat options. Similar options available for sandwiches, salads and bowls.
I ordered Teriyaki Tofu Vegan Banh Mi. This was the only option in any variety. Sandwich was good. Tofu was juicy but with hints of oilyness. Had mixed feelings while eating it. Veggies were cruncy inside but was missing some kind of sauce in it. Overall, a good sandwich and can be tried once.“

I thought the place was small space but NOPE, I was wrong and their place is massive and spacious. I truly liked the setting. I wasn’t close to anyone to another table. Each table were spaced out perfectly. The vibe they gave me was comforting and friendly to vibe with friends.

I got the pho combo and thst shi was busssing!
Usually the beef balls won’t have that much taste but once I ate it I was wrong lol.

“This is my go to spot after ballet class. Duck banh mi is the best. Their baguette (which makes or breaks the meal imo) is much nicer than other spots like Bun Mee.

I had the shrimp Mayo toasted Bread. I thought it was great. Also had the egg roll plate. They were pretty good. Both items were served popping hot. I had to wait and let them cool. This is always a must for me... hot food needs to be hot.

I had the BBQ pork sandwich. It was a little salty for me but im also getting over a cold and my tastey buds are probably a little wacky.

The bread was fresh and perfect crunchy.
