Our server was condescending and repeatedly interrupted our moment by crossing between us without a word. When I asked about drinks, she was short and even gave inaccurate descriptions. This is my second visit, and both times with the same server have left a sour taste. I hope the service improves because the food deserves better! “A vegan friend recommended that we meet up for dinner on a Turaday to enjoy the atmosphere and the sunset. I had never been before and the best part of getting food with friends is to try a little bit of everything! We ordered a lot of shareable items and they were all delicious. My favorite was one of the sushi appetizers that was absolutely delicious.

We also got the matcha berry cheesecake dessert. That was a very nice balance of all flavors and did not overwhelm with a matcha flavor. I will definitely go back there again when I am in Marina Del Ray.

“okay i could write an entire novel about my experience here, but i will keep it brief. my sister and i came to the WeHo Uchi to celebrate my birthday after hearing lots of buzz about it. When we entered, we were immediately greeted warmly and had a lovely exchange with the host. The ambiance was beautiful, everything was pristine and curated, and everyone member of the staff were friendly and comfortable to speak to. Our waiter—whom i sadly cannot remember the name of— truly went above and beyond with his service. We ordered the omakase for two and a few other small dishes, but he threw in two on the house— one being wagyu as a “birthday present” and the other being nigiri. We were choosing between the nigiri and a roll, and when we ultimately chose the roll, our waiter brought us both dishes anyway. Everything felt incredibly thoughtful and personal; there was even a little handwritten card wishing me a happy birthday. The food came out very swiftly—and speaking of the food, it exceeded our expectations. Everything was fresh, beautiful in its presentation, and very unique. This is one of the few sushi places in LA that I think truly lives up to the hype surrounding it. thank you for a great birthday dinner; we will be back again, again, and again!“

“Budonoki is a true hidden gem. Every dish is beautifully presented, incredibly flavorful, and genuinely satisfying. The owner is warm and welcoming, and the service is thoughtful—our server even surprised us with complimentary items from the chef, all of which were outstanding.

My husband and I keep coming back and have brought clients, friends, and family, and everyone has had a great experience. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate with dim lighting, limited seating, and a relaxed vibe set to tasteful hip hop in the background.

“We had the chance to celebrate Sushi Zanmai’s 1-year anniversary, and it was such a fun experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and you can tell they truly care about quality and hospitality.

One of the highlights is that Sushi Zanmai has its own exclusive house sake, which made the experience even more unique. We enjoyed a sake tasting, and each bottle had its own smooth, well-balanced flavor that paired beautifully with the food. If you enjoy Japanese sake, this is something you definitely shouldn’t skip.

We ordered the Zanmai Gozen, and it was the perfect way to experience a variety of the restaurant’s specialties. The beautifully presented set included fresh sashimi, crispy shrimp and vegetable tempura, flavorful appetizers, a creative specialty roll, and perfectly cooked bites finished with rich sauces and just the right amount of spice. Every item was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and showcased authentic Japanese flavors.

The presentation was stunning, the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and every bite reflected the attention to detail that Sushi Zanmai is known for. The chefs were welcoming, and watching them prepare the dishes added to the overall dining experience.

“Probably some of the freshest sushi I’ve ever had. There was a flyer left on a car at the park in Torrance and I was craving sushi so decided to go try it wonderful sushi very good. Customer service very friendly. Definitely going back there for my sushi. they weren’t stingy they hooked it up with a lot of filling . They added a lot of avocado, and I got the California rolls and it had a lot of the crab made perfectly so glad I found a new sushi place.“

I did not try the scallop or watch trio bc I didn't like the teriyaki or mayo/onion on the salmon. I wanted the scallops plain or with the salt sauce, but it wasn't available. But otherwise, the fish were a good temp, well portioned (cut), and delicious. I order various salmon sashimi, nigiri, yellow tail, and tuna dishes.“
