“Our son wanted sushi and he loved it! The pad Thai has a very different flavor that I was not a fan of, but they replaced it. I chose the shrimp Thai basil and it was phenomenal. “We visit Pisces Rising several times a year and love their food and drink, happy hour is great. They do need to alter their recipe for the Poke Stack.....it's all fresh, but had a huge top layer of wonton and thick bottom layer of rice, making the whole thing really dry. If they just eliminated those items, it would be much better.”

“The restaurant was very busy and we had made a reservation. We arrived a few minutes early and we were greeted by a very nice young man. We could see that it was going to be awhile, but we were not concerned. They kept telling us how sorry they were, (they were short handed) and the owner/chef even came out to thank us for being so patient. We were seated and the chef came out and apologized again. I ordered a glass of wine from him and then received another. He also gave us a special treat as a thank you for our kindness and patience. We ordered and cannot say enough of how good the food once. I am Italian, have eaten in Italy numerous times and this is like being there. He has a good menu, not large, but the food is excellent. When we ordered we received our food quickly. We plan to return to Mount Dora, as we cruise a lot, and definitely will visit them again!”

“We went to the Fiests Grande restaurant today (2-1-25). Somebody told the manager that my husband was stealing a cup that was on another table. My husband saw the cup and was showing me how cool it was (we are seniors and if my husband liked a cup that he saw he would have asked our server if the restaurant sold them, we do not have to steal. Nor were we dressed poorly.) So, the manager came over to us, and demanded to look in my husband's bag. I felt so bad for my husband! The look on his face! He was mortified! She did not find a cup, because my husband did not take anything. She embarrassed my husband and me in front of everyone. I approched the manager and told her she was out of line and she told me she had to protect her customers...well, my husband and I were also her customers, she didn't protect us from public humiliation! She also told me " I am Mexican, I know how it feels. I don't know what she meant by that. We will never visit that restaurant again, and probably won't go to Mt. Dora again either! Needless to say, our beautiful day was ruined.”

The veggies were very fresh, the crust was not too thick or thin & it had the right amount of cheese. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. My wife and I are vegetarian. The salad was crisp and nicely prepared, onion rings were lightly breaded and light, and hush puppies were exceptional.

“Our server Jose and another gentlemen provided us with exceptional customer service. They welcomed our family of 5 with smiling faces and friendly personalities. They were patient while we ordered our food and provided quick service. The restaurant was extremely clean, floors were recently mopped and tables were all wiped down. The food was fresh, delicious and well seasoned. For reference, we ordered a combination of wings, subs, fries and pretzels. Our 2 year old was licking her fingers and she is a very picky eater.

“I recently visited China 8 in Mount Dora with my sister, and once again, they did not disappoint! The restaurant consistently offers a cozy atmosphere coupled with exceptional customer service that makes you feel genuinely taken care of.

We ordered the shrimp fried rice and special fried rice, which were both cooked to perfection. The honey chicken and fried chicken with honey sauce were delightful treats—sweet, crispy, and just the right amount of goodness. We couldn't resist their egg rolls and spring rolls either, which were the perfect starters to our meal.

Although I found a small rock in my rice, it didn't detract from the overall positive experience. Mistakes happen, and it's nothing that would keep me away.

If you're in the area and craving delicious Chinese cuisine with a side of warm hospitality, China 8 is the place to go. We'll definitely be back for more!”

“This is the worst bar in Mount Dora. If you want to have a bad time. Go here. We showed up to the bar at 10 pm on a Saturday and ordered one drink per person. While my friends went to the bathroom, the bartender walked up to our table and took away our purchased drinks for no reason. The "manager", Mark came up and told me that we weren't welcome anymore. I asked why and he had no answer. I asked why again and he had no answer. Then after multiple times questioning, he said , "your too intoxicated" We were literally sober. The manager then physically intimidated us and forced us to leave. I'll never go to this bar again I live in this town and frequent town regularly. I'll never recommend anyone go to this bar for food or drink. What a top to bottom terrible experience. If you enjoy a good time, skip this bar.”

This is one of those authentic places that you rarely find and I had a gut Feeling that their pizza was the best around there’s a guy named Cameron there. He’s always there. He goes above and beyond. I’ve seen him dealing with angry customers With a smile on his face, but most importantly, the ingredients and the pizza from the pizza shop is my favorite. They gave me a slice on the house and I will not order pizza from anywhere else in mount dora.”
