“best sushi in the chicagoland area for me! this little stall inside Hmart Niles’ food court is such a hidden gem. my husband and i actually come here once a week now, it’s officially become our comfort-food spot. i’m not a raw-sushi person at all, but they have amazing cooked options. i'm obsessed with the salmon yaki roll. seriously, it’s that good, always fresh and consistent.

we chatted with the owner once, and he told us he even makes the wasabi from scratch. the wasabi alone deserves an award, so flavorful, not the harsh store-bought kind. the owner is almost always there, making the sushi himself and running things with such a friendly vibe. he truly deserves recognition. this is literally the only sushi my stomach can tolerate, so that says a lot.

and it’s not just the sushi. their entrées are unforgettable too. my husband swears by the chicken katsu: crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and the portion/price is super fair.

“Ive been to 3 Omakases one of which was in Japan.

All were really really great but Kyoten Next Door was phenomenal. I not only left full (rarity for me 🫄🏻) but each course was unexplainably good and chef Jorge was funny, kind, and knowledgeable!

Definitely worth the money for the service and food you get. Finding the location was iffy at first because there’s no signs or anything and it looks like it’s abandoned but once you get in it’s super super nice and cozy.

“We did the omakase experience. Overall quite good, the fish was very good and high quality. The wasabi level on the pieces was inconsistent, mostly very pleasant but at times overpowering. We weren't a fan of the uni/roe course but that is of course personal preference (however as a big fan of uni i was slightly disappointed). Overall very good and attentive service. It's everything you want from sushi ... fresh and delicious ingredients prepared in front of you by an expert in his craft. The head chef is incredible and their sense of hospitality is amazing. It's a small location with a lot of heart. Takibi has been a place I've gone with my partner to celebrate, to mourn, or just to have a nice night out. If you haven't been you have to go here.“

“Absolutely loved my experience at Neta Sushi in Park Ridge. The Sushi Sashimi Bento was perfectly prepared with beautiful cuts of fresh fish. You can tell the chefs really care about quality. The Truffle Yuzu Salmon was amazing—light, citrusy, and elegant. The Wasabi Tuna roll was a standout with its crispy shrimp tempura and flavorful tuna topping. Definitely coming back soon!“

Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. “What an awesome place. Workers are very welcoming and helpful. Waitress suggested a roll for my son and it was so good, he devoured it. Food was amazing and prices are really good, specially their daily and weekly specials. Place was very quiet, it was mid-afternoon so there was not a big crowd. Parking is paid street parking and is a bit difficult at times but if you’re not familiar with the area, there’s a free parking lot around the block. Will definitely be back to this gem!“

My fiancé ordered the shrimp in a blanket and they were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I had the ramen both times and it was absolutely delicious. My fiancé tried the pad thai with shrimp on one visit and the basil shrimp fried rice on another, and both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. I enjoyed a warm cup of miso soup and crab rangoon to start—some of the best crab rangoon I’ve had! I ordered the Smashing Pumpkins roll, and it did not disappoint. The fresh, savory flavors of black rice with eel, creamy avocado, slightly sweet pumpkin and bright pops of texture from the tobiko complemented each other perfectly. My friend had the jungle curry with chicken which was perfectly spicy. We enjoyed the lovely jazz-esque playlist, cozy ambiance, and lovely people. I love that they offer creative rolls you can’t find everywhere, and we will definitely be back to try more!“

The preparation is mostly traditional, it’s generally fresh and tasty (though there have been nights where something is off). The cooler almost always has some grab and go options; otherwise, order ahead to make the wait more predictable.“
