50 Best Italian Restaurants in Baltimore

“Marta manages to be both lively and cozy simultaneously in a rowhouse that previously housed Salt (one of my all time favorite upscale restaurants) We went for a friend's birthday, and all 3 courses were delicious, beautifully presented, inventive, and not the same old menu that you find everywhere. Very sweet wait staff was super attentive, educated about the food and wine and made great suggestions. Our original wait staff had an emergency and had to leave in the middle of service, but seamlessly another wait person stepped in to covered us. Kudos to the front of house team for handling with such skill and ease. But the food was definitely the star of the show. For me, the standout was the tuna cannoli. I'm not even sure I can do justice to this deliciousness with a crunchy outer "cannoli" shell with a slight hint of sweet surrounding a creamy center of tuna crudi with little dots of avocado cream. And all was covered with a pistachio "dust." The spicy meatballs were delectable nestled in a cloud of creamy spicy ricotta. And the Duck and Foie Gras Panzotti (little triangle ravioli) was creamy, delicious and the perfect combination of delicate tastes. And the Tiramisu Affogato ended the dinner on a delicious note! And for two people with drinks it was really pretty a good deal for the quality if the food, service and location. We will be back! Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5“

“We celebrated my daughter's 21st birthday at Sotto Sopra last night and had the best experience! we were met by name at the door! Given prosecco when we arrived at our table! Had a delicious 3 course meal. And then dessert with sparkler! The atmosphere was amazing - beautiful decor, clean, perfect acoustics so you could hear and talk, but also wonderful selection of music playing in the background. And our waiter was just amazing and so attentive and friendly! Perfect restaurant for your special occasion! I cant wait to go back! Thank you for making our daughter's birthday so special!“

“My family was in the pizza business for many years in Philadelphia, PA where I worked every aspect of the business. I also served in the military for 23 years and have eaten at dozens of pizza places throughout our great country so I'm very confident in knowing what good pizza is all about and on Aug 30, 2026 I ate at one of the best, if not the best pizza I have ever had at a small corner joint called Angeli's in Baltimore, MD. From the light, airy dough, to the tasty marinara sauce and the high-quality mozzarella cheese all cooked to perfection I was overwhelmed with how good their pizza truly was. And to enhance our experience even more the wait staff and owner was incredibly friendly and attentive and the icing on the cake was meeting Maryann who greeted me with a warm smile and compassionate gratitude when I let her know how great their place and pizza were. Anytime I'm back in Baltimore I will always make time to get a pizza at Angeli's. 10/10 in my book!!!“

“We are visiting from Canada. We received fantastic service and the food was incredible. The restaurant even helped us get back to our hotel when the cab didn't show up as our phones weren't working. “I can’t say enough good things about this place! Every time we go here for dinner, we always enjoy! The staff is friendly and the owner Jerome is awesome! He comes to the table not only to greet you and to make sure everything is okay. He even takes the empty dishes off the table. He’s always helping out around the restaurant. Love this place!!!“

“OMGOSH, this place is FABULOUS. Came for lunch after Dr appt best ( lost) decision we made. We will be back. Service was Great ( perfect ) Started with Espresso martini ( best I ever had ) Crab soup absolutely delish topped with lots of lump crab meat. No shells. We shared Shrimp Gondola ABSOLUTELY FREAKING AMAZING. Shrimp on toasted baguette bread with simply delicious cream sauce. ( a definite must try) Hubby got pizza with mushroom n sausage. WoW!! I ordered Grilled Chicken Pesto Panni , which came with fries or mixed greens( I opted for mixed greens ) I will have to update on taste because I could not even take a bite of panini. I did eat the greens which were also delish. Do yourself a favor try this place. We will definitely be back. Yes it's a two hrs drive but worth it. Cheers to entire staff. “This was my second visit to Love, Pomelo, and somehow it was even better than the first.

We ordered the Carbonara Verde and the Anchovy Toast, and both were incredible. The carbonara was rich and comforting without feeling too heavy, and the anchovy toast was the perfect balance of salty, creamy, and crisp. Every bite felt thoughtful and intentional.

What made this visit unforgettable, though, had nothing to do with the food.

I ended up having one of the most genuine conversations with the manager, Min We started talking as strangers, but I left feeling like I had been seen by someone who truly cared. In a world where we often move from place to place without interacting with the people around us, that conversation reminded me how meaningful simple human connection can be.

That, to me, is the definition of hospitality. It’s not just serving great food. It’s making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for.

“Loved that t his place was smaller on the inside than it appeared on the outside so the vibes were intimate. Small, focused menu of really interesting items made it easy. Raw and cooked apps. 5 or 6 small plates and only 2 large plates plus a big sharable large plate (octopus) special for up to 4 people. Good wine selection. great complimentary house-made limoncello to finish out the meal. Even an NA one for those that don't imbibe. Service was great!“

“My husband and I were looking for a good meal slightly out of the chaos of Fells Point and stumbled upon this most delicious Italian restaurant. Chef John recommended the Rigatoni alla Vodka with shrimp and it was everything. My husband always particular about seafood felt the shrimp was cooked to perfection. We also had the Buratta as an App and took a Tiramisu to go and enjoy later. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable meal with excellent service. We will be back. If you are looking for an excellent meal in a beautiful environment I recommend it.“

“The Catonsville location used to be my go-to, lived less than 100-feet from it when I first moved to Maryland. Couldn’t imagine my excitement when I found out about the Falls Road location as I now live right down the road.

We’ve done takeout twice now - the fries are probably the best I’ve had only second to a steakhouse in Florida. Pizza always gets rave reviews and the pasta, lasagna and subs leave everyone very happy.

Our recent order was the Nonna Tina and wife ordered the vegetable sub along with the meatballs…what a hit!

Hopefully will be dining in soon but with a newborn, that’ll be down the road!“

“Will miss you chicken guy!! This place was really good for its location. People who are hating don’t listen to them, it may have been a bit of a wait, but it was one guys running the whole show and I believe his food was amazing!

Also, because of its location he was very well aware how people could be. A man followed us and was essentially harassing us, chicken guy came out and made the guy leave.

He was so sweet and kind, I really recommend giving this place a chance and being respectful to chicken guys.“
