“I stopped by for a late lunch take out and I was pleasantly surprised.
First, the interior while not large is cozy and very inviting, complete with nice Japanese wall art, and even a stove heater in one section with many Japanese ceramics like tea pots on display.
I ordered a Chicken teriyaki lunch box (bento) - (Entree, $14.50, 4/5) - I was happy with the heft of the bag and upon opening it, food was hot and fresh. California rolls were good and 2 pieces of shumai were crispy and nicely seasoned. Rice was the right portion and chicken was fresh-tasting with good quantity of teriyaki veggies. Some pieces were a bit tough and the seasoning overall did not really permeate, but I didn't mind. I mean, it's lunch special so you can't really expect too much. I was nicely satisfied with this bento - not too much, not too little, and at a great price.

I used to do yoga right next door for years and had never gone in, but now I would like to dine in because they had that nice, cozy and authentic Japanese sushi house vibe that was so inviting + of course, good tasting food at reasonable price. I'll be back!“

“When you are longing for the exquisite dinners you had in Italy, this cozy wonderful restaurant is the answer. I had a Branzino fish that was pure heaven. I will be dreaming of it until I can return. Casual atmosphere, warm and easy, impeccable service, Beautifully prepared food.“

I love going there for their small bites during their happy hour, which does include weekends! They have far more than oysters and I love their clam chowder, raw fish dishes like tartar, and lobster knuckles.“

The sides, mashed potatoes and baked potato, were just okay and could've used more flavor, even with butter, salt, and pepper. But the steak... absolutely incredible. Easily one of the best steaks in the city. Definitely a spot I'd return to for the quality of the meat and top-tier service.“

“We had a wonderful birthday dinner. They had some cute birthday confetti on the table and a birthday card which was a nice touch. The dumplings, beet salad, scallops, brussel sprouts,and stuffed shrimp were all delicious! The drinks were great. Dessert selection was nice - the lemon tart was fantastic. Loved listening to the live jazz band which raised the bar for the atmosphere. Will definitely return. High class restaurant with high class service!“

“I went with a group of friends for my birthday last night. It was AMAZING. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. The place itself was so clean and cute, really cool vibe. The Apps were great, Hush Puppies and Fried Calamari, yum. I did a make-your-own Seafood Boil. OH MY GOD. The New Zealand Mussels, King Crab and Dungeness Crab was out of this world in the Cajun Butter Sauce. I HIGHLY recommend this spot and will be going back.“

“Didn’t expect to find my best crispy pork belly of the year at a Thai spot!!! The skin was insanely crisp yet slightly chewy. The dipping sauce on the side was perfectly balanced.

For the main, we went with the panang short ribs. The beef was coated in a rich, mildly spicy curry. We added steamed veggies instead of rice and they fit curry.“

“Took my visiting sister there on a Tuesday evening. She was taken aback by the level of service that made us feel like VIPs! After getting a great window seat, my Sis jokingly said, "How romantic, too bad I'm here with my brother". Our gorgeous server Michelle was spectacular. She made multiple trips to the bar to find 'just the right wine' for my sister's particular taste and made two special requests to the kitchen on our behalf. Michelle's calming presence and 'in the moment' attitude made us feel very special. Being an intellectual herself, Michelle engaged with us most excellently in conversation. I've had a few nice meals before at the Chart House, but this by far was the best experience ever thanks to Michelle.“

“Docks is an institution! I am so glad it is still around and going strong. 40 years ago I used to hang out there after work to unwind and socialize with my colleagues. We were young and loved the energy the place exuded. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a new colleague for happy hour and it did not disappoint. In my defense, doesn't this mean my review of Le Petit Pecheur (which always makes me think of George Bizet's underrated opera, for all you Romantic Era nerds) wil be...purer? No annoying comparisons and such?

I digress. We came, we seafood-ed, we smiled.

- Fried Sardines: My favorite dish of the night. Perfectly breaded, lightly crispy, totally filling, yet not briney or heavy. I think I'm in love....

- Baba Ganoush + Hummus + Pita: I forget why we ordered these, but they were tasty and creamy and made a nice distraction while we waited for our entrees.

- Grilled Octopus: Perfectly chewy and zesty, exactly the kind of poulpe you might enjoy on the beachy coast of the southern Mediterranean.

- Scallops: Also well cooked, and tastier than they had any right to be considering the simple seasoning.

- Shrimp Linguine in butter garlic sauce: I mean, you really can't go wrong with a dish like this. My only regret was having to share it with five other friends.

- Branzino: Butterflied, tender and full of flavor. There are many branzino dishes out there. This one won't break the bank, and will leave both your stomach and your wallet happy.

If you need more, definitely pad your meal with Mashed Potatoes and Fries because carbs are happy things, and happy things deserve to be eaten.

Space is ample, as are the portions, and service is quick and friendly. They play a lovely mix of North African French and Arabic music, which just adds to the beachy resort town atmosphere, IMO. Perhaps one day I'll finally make it to Abuqir, and the cycle will be complete.“

“After eating so much (pizza etc )we needed to eat something different, spicy and booked this gem,as it as near to our hotel. It was also our 40th wedding anniversary. We are from U.K. This was amazing perfectly cooked tasty home made authentic Indian cuisine. We had mocktails ( lavender was refreshing ). The tandoori lamb chops x4 were full meat seasoned beautifully and delicious. All other sides perfect too. Now in U.K. we hate restaurant Indian puddings they are usually bought in and awful/failure. After finding out the chef is the owner and a recipient Michelin star we were convinced to stay,try and this was the first time we have had authentic home made puddings; try Kulfi with rose water & also Indian rice pudding. The whole meal was exceptional great value and we will recommend this restaurant to anyone else visiting New York. Easy to find off Times Square /Broadway. One of the signature nice things I always loved about this place. It seems they want to push the paid dessert menu. Sign of the times I suppose. Nevertheless, great spot.“

The food tasted like when you go to a fish market and you get steamed food and though that can be good that's not what you expect when you go to shaking crab. The butter and garlic sauce was very thin and just had butter and garlic And it was very oily, I don't even think it was real butter. We had to ask for seasoning. But it wasn't the same. at all. Also they kept omitting items out of our food When we dined in. And, We had a to go order and we paid for eggs and noodles and when we got home we found out it wasn't there. So I'm going to give shake and crab another go but it will have to be in Brooklyn. Because the one that was in Harlem has permanently closed and when I tell you, that's sauce? superb! If the owner or manager is reading this please go back to the original. I understand that you are probably mostly around white people and they like to complain about things being too spicy but you're going to lose business that way. The people that like your food will come. But if you change what you're known for. It's ultimately going to be your demise.“

“The trout is the best in the area. The servers can be unprofessional and rude. When asked to tie back their hair, the request was refused. A nonsense response of not required was insulting. As an experienced service trainer, the hair in question should have been restraining. Health department requirements override a servers vain attitude.“
