“Their menu is extensive but I got classic things like the curry puffs, crab rangoon, and pad khee mao which were all great. The pad khee mao was quite spicy and I can handle a good amount of spice so I would ask for it not so spicy if you can’t handle too spicy. Very delicious and flavorful though!Beautiful lighting sitting outdoors by the way!“

“The flavors in the grab hand roll set were dynamic and delicious. Jesse helped me out with some recommendations and even asked the chef for more sauce on my a-la carte order. I had the hand roll set and had to go back for a little more! Worth checking out.“

“Here is a review of the chefs tasting menu and wine pairing at Oceans in New York City:My wife and I celebrated her birthday with the exceptional chefs tasting menu and exquisite wine pairings at Oceans. From start to finish, it was a night of culinary excellence. We began with beautifully composed opening bites - tuna tartare and black bass crudo - complemented by crisp, refreshing sparklers. The tuna was paired with a delightful Raventós i Blanc rosé that offered delicate red fruits and pastry notes. My crudo sang alongside a mineral-driven Cremant de Savoie. The lobster roe linguine course was a revelation, with the tender, briny pasta impeccably matched by a Sonoma Chardonnay's bright salinity and verve. For our mains, my Scottish salmon arrived perfectly cooked, beautifully plated with lentils, greens, and mushrooms in a lush cream sauce. A Burgundian Pinot Noir provided an aromatic counterpunch of spices and red fruits. My wife's seared scallops were sweet and succulent over an English pea puree, with a Loire Valley Chinon offering vibrant red fruit to accent the gnocchi and brown butter.Desserts did not disappoint - a decadent chocolate tart and sublime pistachio semifreddo complemented by the caramelized notes of an aged tawny port. As a bonus birthday treat, the kitchen sent out a complimentary celebratory cake paired with a luscious Moscato d'Asti. The attentive and knowledgeable service, combined with the artful dishes and pitch-perfect wine pairings, made this an evening to remember at Oceans. An indulgent yet balanced tour de force of flavor from an extraordinary kitchen and cellar.“

“Visiting from London with a friend, came across this omakase place for a birthday dinner! It was also the chef’s birthday (and I pass my regards for how great the food was). Hugely impressed by the food especially for such an affordable omakase experience, and especially the service which was easy and friendly, and catered for my friend’s birthday so well. An unpretentious and cosy affair.“

“This omakase spot does a well thought out 14 course that includes everything - from apps to nigiri to desserts at an affordable price. What I really enjoyed about Sushi Yolo compared to other omakase spots in this price range is how it’s nicely paced with your entire meal spanning 1.5 hours (other spots are usually churning out guests within 1 hour). As I said before, all the dishes were so well thought out and the pieces that were presented were so beautiful. My absolute favorite was their steamed egg topped with ikura and uni - it was so warm, smooth, and custard-y with the ikura and uni providing the perfect umami balance. As expected, service was amazing and Alex, the host, was so thoughtful to offer me tea throughout my meal as I was the only one in my party who was not partaking in sake.Highly recommend for a date night or a fun outing with a group of friends.“

“Fabulous date night at Nami Nori. We both order the signature set which was phenomenal. Every piece was creative, so fresh and better than the last. We shared the tempura misto, wasabi cucumber tataki and the spicy tuna dip. The wasabi cucumber was a great choice and the green that we needed for the meal. Could have passed on the tempura. I loved the spicy tuna dip but my boyfriend said he rather grab more handrolls next time. We also got the mochurros and tbh, it's a pass for us. The WBurg location has a liquor license and the fun cocktails are not to be missed! Im not a fan of lychee martinis and my boyfriend ordered one off the menu and it was probably the best ones I've had. Attentive staff and such a beautiful venue. It's always so hard to get reservations but we saw plenty of open seats on a Saturday around 730/peak dinner, so definitely try walking in.“

“Even on limited time, I make it a priority to visit PLANTA whenever we're in the same city. I walked here from the Empire State Building, and it was bustling on a Saturday evening. I happily sat at the bar. FIRECRACKER ROLL This was on their April exclusive menu. Filled with Japanese sweet potato, avocado, unagi, and topped with gochujang mayo & chili salt. DELICIOUS! It deserves to be a staple menu item. TORCHED AND PRESSED One of my go-to menu items. This roll is so melt-in-your-mouth creamy. I drool every time. I even convinced some girls sitting at the bar to order this roll. BANG BANG BROCCOLI My numero uno go-to dish since I visited the SOBE location a few years ago. Will never not order this. Crunchy. Flavorful. Amazing in every way. As they were leaving, a couple asked me about this dish and I let them each have one floret. They were sold! (Not all PLANTAs have the same dishes, but luckily, two of my favs have been at all the ones I've visited: FL, CA, IL, & NY.) TRUFFLE RICE I tend to avoid the main dishes and stick with starters and sushi, but I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I should've followed my instincts. It had a nice flavor to it, but it was dry and the rice was overcooked. Disappointing. There was so much potential with the cumulation of ingredients. As a PLANTA Passport holder who doesn't live near a PLANTA, I was excited to be able to use my birthday reward - a free dessert! But they didn't have my fav available- the giant chocolate chip cookie, so I ended up passing on dessert. Service was great. As busy as he was, he kept my water glass filled. The worst part about my visit is that I rushed out to catch my Uber back to Brooklyn and left my leftovers on the counter. I may have shed a tear about it. Tip: there are outlets and hooks at the bar.“

“Had the best introverted time at KazuNori! I finally arrived in NYC after a 5 hour flight and 1.5 hours Uber to my hotel. After checking in and dropping off my stuff, I was starving! Thankfully, this place was a 3 minute walk away. I walked in and was immediately seated as a party of 1 in the corner of their bar seating. Awesome ambience with low light for intimacy with yourself or your companion. I ordered their 6 hand roll set for $34 and it was well worth the money. The chef goes at your pace, but it's best to each hand roll asap as it's so warm because of fresh rice. Each roll was filling and amazing to finish; my personal favorite was the bay scallop roll. I was done within 15-20 minutes, and KazuNori checked off all the boxes from speed, quality of customer service, and great food quality. Would come here again and definitely recommend!“

“Found an amazing hidden gem in Astoria, Queens! It’s a secret speakeasy tucked away at the back of a poke shop. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried their 14-course omakase with sake for $98 per person, and also added the optional uni ikura don for $25. The quality of the fish blew us away - so fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the neighborhood.“

“We arrived to Kimura 10min before opening on a weekend and there were 3 parties in front of us in line. They opened on time and there were no issues getting seated, with no reservation, but we were seated in the backyard heated room. Our waiter and the staff there were polite and friendly. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious. Only complaint was I wish portion size was bigger. Haha. Beef tongue slices (5pcs) $14 - marinated grilled tender slices Yuzu Miso Salmon $15 - Includes fresh salmon sashimi topped with yuzu miso and sesame ponzu sauce, green onion and onion slices Hakata Motsu Nabe $27/person - Includes beef intestines, cabbage, leek, tofu, burdock, and sesame, chili sauce on the side. “Came here for my birthday dinner because I love all things Japanese cuisine and Omakase by Korami did not disappoint! Service, food, and drinks were phenomenal. I did feel a little rushed though so be aware this is only an hour dine in experience. The restaurant is small and there is only counter service Available so you can see the chefs prepare the food right in front of you. Friendly atmosphere with so many delicious and fresh nigiri. My favs: catfish, salmon, bluefin tuna w caviar. Melted in my mouth, soo fresh and so much flavor. Loved! We enjoyed our meal over Dassai 39 sake and I was excited to get a tuna hand roll birthday surprise with a candle in it. Super sweet from the chefs and it was such a great birthday dinner.“

“I came here on a Friday night at about 7pm. (It also happened to be during lent, so I think it was even busier in the kitchen than usual) They have three tables with two chairs. Very casual. It seems to be more of a takeout spot My friend and I split the Sushi & Sashimi Premium- 15pc of Sashimi & 10pc Sushi - $60.00 It came out in like 10 minutes of ordering. The sushi was very fresh and had great taste. It was not enough for two people and we should've ordered more, but that's personal preference.“

“Easily one of the best omakase in the city. The otsumami was fantastic, and I really the nigiri. The rice is very unique. Loved the flavor. It’s also a perfect ambiance. High end but relaxed. “Best Sushi restaurant in NYC! Omg the sushi are all fresh and everything taste good!! Location: It is located in Houston St. The interior is very intimate, but you can wear casual. I wear scrubs (coming from work, im a nurse). Lot of seatings and there is a bar. Service: our server was nice, explains well the sushi that we are eating. The girl in the front desk looked at me and my friend because we are wearing scrubs as if she does not want us to enter. Food: you have to order DOMAKASE! It has everything that you need to eat here! Lol everything is good! My faves are TUNA CONE: omg so good, the spicy mayo is inside the cone as if that is the ice cream and tuna is just so fresh on top. ROASTED CAULIFLOWER: cauliflower never tasted this good, and you can eat the green pea miso spread on its own, that is how good it is. SCALLOP RISOTTO: omg this was the bomb! It will be cooked in front of you! It taste like paella but so much better! KABAYAKI: omg the seabass is sweet as if you are not eating a fish! DONBURI: even though the daikon soup is just a little bit, the wagyu don is soo good! CHEF’s CHOICE SUSHI: everything was delicious and fresh, im not sure the names are but they all good, my favorite was the toro sushi. SPICY TUNA HANDROLL: so good too! Not that spicy. CRABMEAT with CRUNCH SEAWEED: reminds me of tacos because of the crunch! BLACK SESAME PANNA COTTA: my fave cause the black sesame has earthy taste and the panna cotta is so silky smooth. HOJICHA PUDDING: taste like tea and the pudding was so soft, melts in the mouth. PEACH LYCHEE: omg so good, the sake is little bit strong but the combination of the peach and lychee is perfect. WATERMELON COOLER: so refreshing and light. Price rating: 8/10, thats the only thing cause its Michelin Restaurant it will be expensive, but it is so good! Definitely will come back here! If it is your first time go for DOMOKASE. Get the scallop risotto too!“

“Omakase is pretty good for the price. Most of their fish are fresh and flavors are good. Their cod, uni, and scallop were great. Their amberjack appetizer was not as fresh. I suspect most restaurants try to mask their less fresh items with sauce and other flavors and put it up as an appetizer. Atmosphere was crowded and noisy. Service was fast, taking away our plates before we were even done chewing. Didn't mind it too much but it did feel a little rushed.“

“I went to Kinzan omakase last night and it was so good! Each piece was very creative, like yellowtail pesto, which I had never had before but worked so well. “We walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night (we had just arrived in the city) and only had a 45 minute wait. The food is delicious, I had pork tonkatsu ramen, and my husband had a seafood okonomiyaki. We shared a soy and ginger beef appetizer and got their seasonal Miu Miu cocktail. The service was quick once we were seated and the staff was friendly. The only drawback is that the space is loud, and it is uncomfortable to try and have a conversation over your meal. That may not be a problem on a weekday though.“

“This restaurant exceeded all expectations! A definite must-visit for anyone in NYC craving exceptional food, service, and atmosphere.Starting with the ambiance, stepping through the revolving doors transports you into a world of elegance. The golden bar, stocked with top-shelf selections, catches the eye immediately. To the right, a chic cocktail lounge area adorned with rose gold velvet chairs invokes a nostalgic 70s vibe, complemented by tasteful gold accents. The red room at the back exudes glamour and sophistication with its rich red accents, creating an atmosphere of opulence. Even the bathrooms, with their beautiful and impeccably clean facilities, maintain the luxurious gold theme. Our choice of high top booths near the cocktail lounge allowed us to fully appreciate the architectural beauty and aesthetic charm of the restaurant. The Motown music added to the ambiance, setting the perfect mood for enjoying drinks and good company. Now, onto the customer service - our server Mary was simply outstanding. Her blend of humor, warmth, and reliability elevated our dining experience to another level. She went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Her attention to detail ensured that each member of our group felt catered to and comfortable throughout the dining experience. Celebrating my birthday, Mary's attentive service and infectious smile made the occasion even more memorable for our group of four. And then there's the food... where do I even begin? Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, leaving us wanting more with every bite. The flavors were so exquisite that I was tempted to lick the plate clean, but of course, I had to maintain my composure. I could rave about the entire menu, but some standout items that deserve extra praise include:Wasabi lobster********Lobster tempura roll (hand cut)********Wok lobster****Wagyu skewers*********Edamame*****Lobster dumplings***Spicy shrimp rice*******“

“Nestled discreetly in the East Village, The Office of Mr. Moto beckons with its cozy atmosphere and impeccable hospitality. The setting exudes exclusivity, providing an ideal canvas for a memorable dining experience. While the service remains outstanding, it's important to remember that taste is subjective; while some sushi selections stand out, others are merely satisfactory, in my opinion, especially considering the premium pricing. Nevertheless, credit must be given to the charming chef, whose skill and dedication are evident in every dish.Despite this, The Office of Mr. Moto continues to attract patrons seeking an intimate ambiance and flawless service.“

“Chef was amazing and but the experience was tainted by them having us wait to be seated essentially outside (not sure why others at same counter were seated before us or why there is no designated space - and we were right on time not super early?) and by them pushing us at tad excessively at end and more importantly asking another patron to relinquish the pen they used to sign the bill. Seriously? A 500$ baseline price for food alone and you can’t let the guy just take the pen?“
