“Enjoyed a really good dinner meal 🥘 at this restaurant - MATSUYA Japanese Steakhouse in Saddle Brook, NJ. I started off with an Avocado 🥑 and Crab 🦀 Meat Salad with Wasabi Dressing. Then a nice hot bowl of Japanese Miso Soup 🥣. Then went into that Entree - Sea Scallop Teriyaki with Fried Rice 🍚. Yes this place was slamming!!!!!!! Mentioned it to a guy I know and he said he went there for a meal with his wife. I guess they must be pretty good!!!!!! 😎 👍🏿👍🏿“

“Omakase 95 is absolutely incredible! I can’t believe we waited this long to try it.

We both did the 15-course menu, which was 100% the right choice. I’d also highly recommend sitting at the counter. Watching everything being prepared right in front of you is part of the experience and really gives you a bird's eye view of the magic and art that goes into each course.

There wasn’t a weak dish in the entire meal. Tbh, when I saw that the menu started with two appetizer courses, I wondered if they might feel a little like filler before the main events. Not even close. They ended up being some of my favorite dishes of the night.

Everything was exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and perfectly seasoned. We also tried the Nigori sake which we loved. The staff were also warm and friendly.

And the value for the quality of the food and the overall vibe is honestly hard to beat. We left already talking about when we could come back. This is absolutely going into our regular rotation.Don’t sleep on this place!“

We ordered a tuna tartare, which came in a tower shape, and the oysters were top quality. The toasted striped bass was also awesome. Food is ordered by using a QR code that’s on the table top. “Ordered via GrubHub for a late Friday night dinner when the sushi craving hit. I ordered a tuna bowl, and hubby had a salmon bowl. All of the sushi bar bowls come with edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, kani salad, regular salad (in this case, it was arugula), and avocado. The fish came in huge chunks, lightly marinaded, and tasted fresh. No complaints. I’d order again and try some actual rolls next time. I saw on their menu a pretty good deal for lunch - $12.50 for three regular rolls, so I’ll have to check that out.“

There's also definitely a variation on the fish in the Omakase this time., was kind of plain ... another thing that should be noted is there is always confusion about being gluten-free when I ask for things to be prepared gluten-free I'm told I'll ask Chef but I'm never really certain if the food is gluten-free because I don't get adequate communication on that. The drinks are always 100% on point. I love the ambience. The tuna is always exceptionally fresh and it's so great to have a local spot like this. “

My curry was mildly spicy so it's ok for those with low spice tolerance like me. The soda floats come in really tall glasses! They do fill them with a lot of ice, just so you know.
