“A great spot in the UES for Thai. They have lots of great options - I got the Khao Soi today. The chicken is super tender and rich. The broth is creamy and bursting with flavor. I got Thai spicy level which wasn’t really that spicy to me… I love spicy food though!Decent portion size for the price for the khao soi. “Delicious food and great atmosphere! After a long day of running around it was so nice to sit down and have a great meal where everyone around you is having a fun time! We started out with the Scallion Pancake and Vegetable Dumplings. I don't eat Scallion Pancakes very often because most places don't make it very well. Joe's Pancake was perfection! Cooked just right with layers of flavors. The Dumplings were light and fresh. For our main course we had Chicken with Broccoli and Sauteed Crystal Shrimp. Both were delicious and very generous portions. It was the first time I had had the Crystal Shrimp and I couldn't stop eating them. The Staff was very nice and we felt very well attended to but not overly so. We are really looking forward to returning so we can try some dishes that we have never had before.“

We recently visited Chicago and had ramen, which set the bar high. E.A.K. Ramen met our expectations and beyond. You can truly taste the love their team puts into preparing food. “Bangklyn is without a doubt one of the tastiest and most unique restaurants in the city. The food is amazing and fresh, especially the fried chicken. The owner/cook/busboy is awesome and even though he won't say much, he is kind when he does talk and he works really hard to serve the customer. As for the decor, is it a thrift shop? Is it just decoration? It's difficult to tell, but either way it's cool. Highly recommend.“

For a small location, they made good use of their limited space and they communicate regularly if the food will be delayed. My only small complaint would be probably due to the kitchen being so close and the ventilation not being great, our clothes had the food smell afterwards but I won't take a star off since it wasn't too bad. I know their prices will go up eventually but their current price for their food quality is hard to beat.“

Only two other diners are present this afternoon, seated nearby, one wearing friendly NYU labeled pants. Diners hunger for presence of more diners! Ambience: too quiet, not much happening. Other than nice plants it's rather bland, confined. The interior surroundings, the waitpersons, and to some extent the food have moderate unique vibe. Sofun, try to find a balance of these aspects. We experienced the tasty combo of the chilled rice noodles with carrots, cucumber, peanuts and bean sprouts; century egg salad with grilled pepper and eggplant; inviting historical Durian puff pastry dessert; and black salted egg custard bun. 'These look beautiful and have pleasant smells. A peaceful, not noisy, aura emerges, unusual because no loud music splashes one's ears and no unique waitpersons, often present in eateries, run up and down the space. After passing so many "loud," demanding noisy signs, businesses, etc. via Manhattan on the way to Sofun, the mini restaurant is a quiet contrast to the screaming business advertisements on the streets from competitive, demanding midtown Manhattan island endroits. Experience the quasi delicate repose at Sofun albeit also the accompanying empty feeling. Hope that Sofun doesn't become even one bit more tiny.“

“My partner and I have been coming to Susuru, more or less once a week, for about a year now. It’s « our spot » we love it. We get the same order every time, miso ramen and spicy tuna poke. “Very satisfied with the taste and portion size of Thai takeout from Thonglor, which may have gotten a new owner or chef since the old Red Basil? Green curry is tasty and includes nice large chunks of eggplant and bamboo shoots. Noodle dishes like pad kee mao and pad see ew have generous portion of noodles. We normally order from Pochana but have a new favorite in Thonglor, which costs slightly more but you definitely get a larger portion and good quality in return.“

“I ordered take out during a recent visit to NYC. I eat vegan (mostly), so I asked them to veganize their pad see ew, and also got an order of their summer rolls. Both were AMAZING. “I don’t normally love Thai food but the Red eye chili paste chicken is so good and spicy that I know I will be thinking of this dish for some time. Every ingredient is fresh, the chicken was perfectly tender and moist, and the rice omg it’s so good. You can tell it was prepared with immense care. “Stopped here on a trip back home, by chance as we stopped at the HMart around the corner. Beautiful space and waitstaff were so welcoming! We weren't up for a big meal but we got the mandoo soup and dumplings for our daughter. I know I probably should have ordered noodles as that is their specialty, but was unsure if it would affect my sugar levels a lot. I guess the mandoo wrappers would have similar effect, so, oh well! We were greeted with a warm broth tea that was delicious, a little salty, but so comforting on the cold day. Loved our mandoo soup! Flavor was so good! My only wish was that the mandoo in the soup was smaller. It was bigger than golf ball size and was a little difficult for me to eat without feeling I was doing so "inelegantly". “*Wrote this review on yelp already but it had a word limit. So this review will act as the full review as it will contain all the items I’ve tried* This place is phenomenal in every aspect. The food is very authentic, flavorful, and all items are reasonably priced. I tried out their food on Oct. 3 and again on the 9th. The first time I did a take out and the second time I did a dine-in. It is THAT delicious that I needed to create a Yelp account to write my review for them and is absolutely worth my travel from Staten Island to downtown. Below is a list of foods that I have tried plus my take on them from both of my visits there. I'll write it in the order of which I tried it. There'll be pictures of food, the menu, and the restaurant itself. It's super homey and welcoming! A definite must! I'll be going back again next week to try out other items that I have not yet had the chance to have. 1) The pork rougamo: It is like a savory crispy pancake sliced down the middle sandwiching juicy and mouthwatering pork belly. My friend who doesn't normally eat pork belly because it's so fatty, LOVED it so much that we had to get it again the second time we went together. It's got the perfect amount of meat and crunch to it. Just make sure that if you do not plan to eat it right away, please re-heat it in a toaster oven so that it'll maintain it's crispiness. (The heat of it in the bag might soften it a little but it won't ruin the experience! I promise you!) 2) Pan-Fried pork dumplings: The skin that is used to wrap the dumplings in is not too thin or too thick. It's got just the right amount to it. The pork filling itself is extremely juicy and flavorful! They don't cheat you out on the fillings either. You'll definitely get a satisfying amount of meat and wrapping with every bite. If you like spicy oil like I do, it'll definitely enhance it even more! This is also an item that requires some time to make because they pan fry it fresh! (If you're in a hurry, make sure to call ahead for your order.) It's not like other places who have it already pre-fried and just reheat it making it lose it's juiciness from over cooking when an order is place. That's an extreme plus in my book! Obviously, I made sure to get it again the second time I was there. 3) Stewed Duck Leg: This is absolutely tasteful! It's not like your typical roast duck that you'd find in Chinatown hanging in front of a window; full of fat and lingering gamey taste. When I took my first bite, I was not expecting to be exploded with flavor and lean meat. My friend never liked roast duck and has always been "yuck" about it gave this a try, she ended up eating 3/4 of it! She couldn't stop herself from picking at it! So if you have never had duck or have not had a good experience with duck before, this is definitely worth trying! And for those of you who do like duck, you absolutely must! 4) Beef Stew Noodle Soup: We ordered this with hand-pulled noodles... and gosh, I can still taste it in my mouth. The perfect texture of the noodles; it was not soggy at all and had this nice bounce to it. I believe you can ask about preferences for noodles. The beef stew and the soup was the perfect combination! You can taste the beef in the soup and know that it has been stewed for a long enough time! It's not too salty and has a light feeling to it so that you don't feel overly stuffed afterwards. I highly recommend this item! 5) Steamed Fish Filet Dish: This was SOOOO good. If you're like me and absolutely hate fish with bones and always go for fish without, this is definitely a must! The size of the fish filet is phenomenal! I've been to places where the filet order is smaller than the size of my hand but this place, you get a very big and satisfying bite! Whatever it is that they coat it in has the perfect flavor to go with it. And there's some kind of broth that it's cooked in... let me tell you, that was heavenly! After I took my share“
