“I've been there a handful of times with mom. We love the food and staff. They are very welcoming and nice. The food is so super delicious. I have taken my Dad and his wife who came to visit last December and they as well enjoyed the food. Two weeks ago I had a cousin in town from Florida I brought her here to eat. I was was recently there this past Thursday with another cousin who was in town from Florida. She really liked and enjoyed the food here. She can't wait to come back again. This is definitely my mom's and myself go to spot.“
“Our hotel concierge recommended this spot to us for a nice, easy casual night out. The food was delicious and flavorful - much more so than your typical Thai. The staff was pleasant and welcoming and the venue is pleasant. Definitely worth a visit.Vegetarian options: They can alter several dishes to be vegetarian. The tofu was great and flavorful.“
“Let me start off by saying, if you want to complain about prices, don't even walk in the door. To get the optimal experience at any restaurant, you have to pay to play. So expect to spend about $70-100 per person here, this is a spot you take someone on a knock-it-out-of-the-park date or group gathering, you can't be a cheapskate. Now, to the food. Vietnamese BBQ is an intimate experience. Order the 7 course beef so you can try everything while the staff explains and helps you cook your meat. The electric grills are of the highest quality, the same ones they use at high-end Japanese yakiniku places, so the smoky taste on your cooked beef will be perfect. If you want to order a la carte, I highly recommend the Tomahawk, Madame Prawns and Charred Uni. Like I said, this is a place where you share your meal with friends and family so all the food is portioned that way.“
“It was an amazing experience that I give 5 ⭐️’s The menu was innovative and interesting and I love that the chef guides all the courses that come out of the kitchen. Being sea to table ensures the highest quality food and the technique from chef Daniel shines through in every dish. I will definitely be back!“
“Nestled in the lively West Side, Obao is like that cool friend who knows all the culinary secrets. The beef pho? It's like a flavor explosion, but I could've gone for an extra sprinkle of bean sprouts for that extra crunch. And don't get me started on the Thai tea—it's like a sweet nostalgia trip, just a heads-up, ask for less milk if you're not big on the sweetness. My friend went for the udon noodles with shrimp, and man, it was like a savory punch in the taste buds, a bit like when two pop culture icons collided in that viral meme.To top it off, Obao surprised us with two cocktails as a thank-you for our review. They were like little works of art, not just in taste but in presentation too. Obao isn't just about food; it's about creating experiences that make you want to come back for more.“
“Small shop on the edge of Chinatown but the banh mi is awesome. They have a regular and a spicy version. Get the spicy. Definitely worth stopping in for pick up, not really a dine in spot but the price is right and the place is clean. Good service and lots of locals seem to pick up from there.“
“Went here for the vegan banh mi. The guy running the counter and everything was very nice and place has no dining, so everything is take out. It is also CASH ONLY, although they do have an ATM machine inside. A little disappointed w/ the sandwich overall. He asked if I wanted mayo. Odd...considering you offer a vegan option but ask about mayo. At a minimum, offer vegan mayo as they are widely available now. The tofu just didn't "hit" like I thought they would. They were not as firm and so became somewhat soggy which changes the texture of the overall sandwich. It was okay, just not a great choice overall.“
“I love everything about this place. The food is a bomb and the staff are all great.I personally think all the pho in NYC is so mid. For NY standards, the pho is pretty good. But what Di An Di does really well is the rest of the menu. So good. Please just turn the music down!!! It’s so loud.“
“This place is excellent. We went on a Wednesday so I can't speak to what the weekends are like, but the service and pacing was on point. The food...wow. Everything was delicious. That short rib grilled cheese, mochi dumplings, chicken salad, turmeric branzino. Yum! I had the White Tiger cocktail and it was perfect -- great way to kick things off. I also appreciate that the music volume was not too loud (an ongoing issue across NYC dining), and the 90s rock jams (Pixies, Sonic Youth, etc.) added a nice vibe to the evening. Definitely planning to go back and will recommend to friends!“
“Wow this is the best tofu banh mi I’ve ever had! I wasn’t sure how the pesto would be but it worked great, and the oyster mushrooms were sautéd so perfectly. They also had a great hot sauce I got to spice up the banh mi. Will definitely come back!!“
“So pleasantly surprised. Walked into Cloud because I was visiting my niece who was living on that block and the evening was too cold to walk far. We walked in to a warm, welcoming, lovely setting and were met immediately by an equally welcoming wait staff. The next pleasant surprise was the quality of taste of the food. We ordered the shrimp rolls, the mango salad and the seafood noodle soup. Both the mango salad and the seafood soup were outstanding. Will definitely try to make my way to that part of town to enjoy this gem of a restaurant.“
“I had the chance to grab dinner here during the week with a friend. We had made a reservation for a Wednesday evening around 6 and honestly, it doesn't seem as if this is needed since the restaurant opens at that time and there weren't many people waiting when they opened their doors. We were seated immediately when we arrived and given menus to look over before placing our orders. I decided to go with the pho bo noodle dish ($19) with oxtail. This dish is exactly what I needed on a cold February night and hit the spot in more ways than one. The staff was super efficient and attentive to our needs. The restaurant itself was spacious and had a really interesting mural of nighttime Hanoi which was really cool. This spot seems great to have some interesting Vietnamese dishes. Visit with friends for a guaranteed good meal!“
“Hanoi House is one of my favorites. I have tried almost everything on their menu over the years and never had something I didn’t love. Their cocktails are amazing - the bamboozle was definitely our favorite. I always love to add the bone marrow and breadstick to my pho order. The bahn mi is easy to overlook, but it is absolutely amazing. My only complaint is that they do not keep their dessert on the menu consistently. I would order it every time if it was available.“
“Delicious Vietnamese restaurant, simple but perfect in price, quantity and quality of food. We had spring rolls, chicken pho which was huge and the braised beef which was also very good. It's not easy to find, we saw it by chance, you think it's closed. It's worth looking for!“
“After a cold and rainy day in NYC, this is exactly what we wanted. Happened to stumble upon this restaurant online and ordered Pho delivery. It was THE BEST pho broth we’ve ever had. I wish I had ordered it one more time before coming home. So good!“
“Saigon Social is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in the LES of Manhattan. Owned and operated by Helen Nguyen who uses her wonderful restaurant to prepare food for those in need for various organizations in NYC. She is a wonderful person and an amazing chef using her classical training to prepare amazingly authentic and forward thinking Vietnamese dishes. It’s a must visit!!!!“
“I've been back to Nón Lá twice and enjoyed my meal both times. I get the beef ball pho, which is delicious. The broth is really flavorful and rich. I've also tried a bit of my friend's Bún bò Huế, which was also really good. The restaurant is pretty small with not a lot of seating. I went on a Sunday night with a group of 8 people and we were able to get seated in around half an hour. The food was also served super quickly.“
“Best banh mi in NYC.Saigette is a standing-room-only hole in the wall Vietnamese restaurant. “Restaurant” could be too strong a word for what is essentially a kitchen with an entry way for guests.Do not be fooled by its modest appearance for within that hole is best grilled pork bahn mi you’ll ever have in ya god damn life.Love this place“
“I have been craving nam khao tod since living in Europe where SE Asian food is fairly basic. This did not disappoint! They made it spicy as I requested and gave me more herbs/lettuce for free when I'd run out! Note it's cash only.“
“This was my first time here and absolutely loved it. It’s got a nice casual atmosphere, friendly servers, and large portions of great food. I started with the crispy spring rolls which were decent but it was the pho that really did it for me. These are some large bowls so you’re definitely getting value here. But they don’t sacrifice quality - the broth was super flavorful with perfectly cooked noodles and lots of tender meat. I usually get the pho my first time at a Vietnamese place but really want to come back to try their banh xeo which is pretty rare to find in NYC.“
“Whoever said this place is a hidden gem was right. I went early to avoid the happy hour rush. That said you get a discount from 4-7pm so if you’re not picky on seating that’s when I recommend paying a visit. Attached is the photos of what I ordered.“
“Had the best dinner at Nom Nam! Definitely get the pate, it made in house and so so so good. The baguette they use is also so good. It’s soft on the inside and toasted on the outside. Every dish was flavorful and so fresh. I’ll definitely be back!“
“I had a lovely and memorable dining experience. I ordered the Spring rolls (which were delightful by the way): fried goodness served with lettuce wraps and julienne veggies. Super fresh and No guilt! My server, Alex, was what made the night! Although the spring rolls are served with fish sauce (delish!) Alex told me about the restaurant’s homemade soy sauce and offered to bring me a sample. What an amazing flavor profile: I happily alternated each bite between the two sauces. Sweet than savory—repeat. Also fun is the speakeasy style restroom and the sign above the toilet gave me a chuckle: “seat yourself.” Thanks for making my Friday night, Alex and 5Spice!“
“Fantastic small Vietnamese restaurant, with great food, even better service and ok seating. For a small location, they made good use of their limited space and they communicate regularly if the food will be delayed. My only small complaint would be probably due to the kitchen being so close and the ventilation not being great, our clothes had the food smell afterwards but I won't take a star off since it wasn't too bad. I know their prices will go up eventually but their current price for their food quality is hard to beat.“
“was packed but had a great time here. Charlie the bartender was so sweet and super attentive even when it was so busy. thank you for a great night Charlie!! the lychee martinis are so worth the hype for just $8, they’re dangerously delicious!“
“Best meal of our NYC weekend was at Madame Vo. Arrived without a reservation at 5:30pm (opening) on a Saturday and the restaurant very quickly filled up. The pork vermicelli was fantastic. The pork was deliciously glazed and blended so well with all the flavours in the bowl. To me, the deep fried spring rolls resembled Chinese spring rolls more than Vietnamese, but they were so tasty regardless. Nice to have sliced jalapeno peppers served with the pho, instead of only the usual thai chillies.“
“The EM is a great little Vietnamese restaurant. You can eat very well here and the service is quick and very friendly. The EM has a small map where there is something for everyone. The special drinks/cocktails are very refreshing and also very tasty. The furnishings are very simple but still somehow cozy. Can recommend the EM“
“I found this little Vietnamese cafe. I ordered the salad noodle bowl with grilled chicken and a smoothie. I really liked the rice noodle, it’s really fresh and matches well with the sauce. Cafe was spacious with plentiful of seats. I would come back again ?“
“This food was so delicious that 6 months later I am still thinking about it once a week. The fusion was great and I am so pleased it was shown to me by a friend. The restaurant is rather small but does not feel claustrophobic. The service was fantastic, we had a very pleasant waiter. I would suggest making a reservation in advance since seating is limited.“
“Good Vietnamese comfort food! One bowl and pho and your cravings are satisfied! Location: It is located in Noho. There is indoor and outdoor seating! Very compliant with covid precautions. The indoor is typical Vietnamese restaurant! Bathroom is only one, so you have to fall in line. Service: the servers are very nice! Very knowledgeable in what’s on the menu. Very friendly as well. They don’t rush you to leave the restaurant. Food: Hit and miss at their menu! FRIED CRAB CAKE: it was okay, tasty and soft. But probably will try other appetizers. GRILLED PORK CHOPS PHO: omg it is soo good! A little bit salty but the broth together with the pork chops is so delicious! Good amount of pork in there too! VEGETARIAN PHO: it was good as well, the broth is beef tho but there is a lot of veggies inside! THAI ICED TEA: it was okay, there is a lot more better thai iced tea than this. Price rating: 6/10, not bad for the deliciousness! Typical price for a pho. Definitely will come back here if I am craving for pho! Will try their other flavor of pho!“
“Cha Pa's Noodles and Grill is a must-visit for Pho lovers! Their soup is simply amazing, with rich flavors and perfectly cooked noodles. The broth is flavorful and comforting, making it the perfect choice for a cold day or any day you're craving something warm and delicious. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality you receive. If you're in the mood for Pho, Cha Pa's Noodles and Grill is the place to go!“
“We arrived bright and early to try this place. We have been seeing it all over TikTok and had to try it out. We were about the first ones to arrive so we got seated pretty quickly. It has a very rustic and minimalistic vibe! I ordered a coconut Viet coffee, frilled prawn skewers and the pho with a poached egg. I really enjoyed the coconut Viet coffee, loved the creaminess of the coconut and it balanced well with the bitterness of the coffee. The prawns were a good size, I loved the bit of spicy flavor and the charred aroma from grilling it. The pho was definitely the star of the show, the broth was flavorful and balanced. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the poached egg on top. I can with my Viet bf and a friend who is from northern Vietnam and they both really enjoyed it and felt like it was very authentic. I would definitely come back and try again! The only thing is the prices were on the more expensive side but the flavors were delish!“
“Stopped in for dinner. It’s a very popular place for people dining alone- more than half of the tables were singles. I ordered the shrimp pancakes for appetizer and the vermicelli bowl with chicken for a main. Both were delicious and light. I wish the food would’ve been faster out - the table next to me sat down after me and was done eating before I got my app. ( pho does come out quick). Very good dinner.“
“LOVEEE love mama! The staff is so friendly and the food is absolutely delicious and so authentic. We got the Thai tea, the beef rendang, peanut dumplings, and basil chicken kra pao. Everything was 11/10. Couldn’t recommend more. Will be coming back weekly.“
“When I go out for dinner, I can eat a bowl of beef noodle soup just like in Vietnam, grilled chicken rice is also very delicious.I'm visiting Vietnam so I only go to eat Vietnamese food, but now I park my car nearby because it's delicious and delicious ?đ“
“I had a lovely and memorable dining experience. I ordered the Spring rolls (which were delightful by the way): fried goodness served with lettuce wraps and julienne veggies. Super fresh and No guilt! My server, Alex, was what made the night! Although the spring rolls are served with fish sauce (delish!) “Food 10/10 Decent number of selections, and it has a lot more options than just pho. All the food on the menu has a picture as well, which made it so much easier to choose Service: 10/10 I went with a group of 8 and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The food arrived at a reasonable time as well especially considering we have a big group of Ambiance: 10/10 Pretty clean, nice and spacious considering it's in Chinatown. Would definitely come back“
“I have been wanting to try this cozy restaurant for some time and had the opportunity during a weeknight. Place wasn't overly crowded, and we were seated close by the door. What's interesting is that they offer soju to replenish your fluids. We ordered their seafood pho with a side order of bone marrow, short rib pho, and Vietnamese pancake. The bone marrow was delicious, and the short ribs soup was great. It's a bit pricey for a bowl of pho, and worth trying if you are in the area.“
“Everything was fantastic, both the food and the service. We ordered banh mi, chicken rice noodles, and mango sticky rice. It was so delicious that we were left wanting to order more things from the menu. I would go back if I could. Greetings from Spain!“
“Deliriously delicious shop in the East Village! The sandwich rolls were the best I've tasted in NYC and perfectly toasted. My love and I enjoyed The Hog, a vermicelli and meat salad with the best fish sauce, and a lamb taco. I especially was impressed with the cleanliness and food handling. Go to "about us" to read the interesting story of the two friends/owners who we were so fortunate too meet at Wheelers in Sheepshead Bay.“
“I usually come here for their boba and today I was craving a Vietnamese sandwich so I got the bbq pork sandwich and let me say I am surprise at how good it is! I was a little spectacle about ordering a sandwich in a boba shop but I must say the bbq pork sandwich was delicious. It was so flavorful and with a good amount of spice ! They service is quick and the staff are super helpful and friendly. There is a small heated outdoors dining area for you to sit also! I will be back to try the signature bbq pork sandwich next time!“
“Stopped in for a quick lunch. I had the tofu bahn mi. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. Solid bahn mi. I added some sriracha to give it some extra spice! There was one gender neutral restroom. The staff didn't rush me out after finishing and kindly pointed out that they have free wifi.“
“Their bao buns are superb bro specifically the pork one. The pork is just so tender and the bread so soft. They have a really nicely lit place so there’s a bit of led light vibes going on. Their bathroom is the CUTESTTTT I attached a video. I haven’t been on their patio but that’s probably cool too. I will be going back several times and already have lol.“
“This is a brand new Vietnamese restaurant (with some Thai options). It's a great addition to the neighborhood. Not only is it brand new and shiny, the quality is authentic and the pricing is similar to ones you would see in Elmhurst or Flushing. You can get bowls of pho, grilled meat with rice or vermicelli, or BBQ platters for $11.95 or $12.95. The portions were huge and the meat is very flavorful. I especially recommend one of the BBQ platters. We received three large pork chops for only $11.95. I will definitely be back.“
“Be prepared for a wait. But the pay off to a delicious deep umami pho awaits you. Probably one of the best pho in NYC. The soup was not super beefy but had a deep umami flavor to it. Noodles were done just right and the beef balls were bouncy and juicy. The portions are not huge but gives you room to order other appetizers like the delicious spring roll. Will be back to try other things on the menu. Service was prompt but nothing to write home about - you won’t be ignored but it’s transactional. Definitely warrants a repeated visit.“
“From the moment you step into Ginger and Lemongrass, a Vietnamese culinary haven in Whitestone, you're enveloped by the aromas of authentic, rich flavors that promise a delightful dining experience. I have frequented this restaurant multiple times, and each visit solidifies my love for their exquisite cuisine. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the pho. The soup base is deep, rich, and layered with flavors that make other versions seem bland in comparison. It's a comforting bowl that brings the essence of Vietnam right to your table. Equally impressive are the savory cakes, which are a unique delight with a subtle hint of coconut that tickles the palate in the most pleasant way. While I enjoy dishes with a stronger heat, the coconut spicy lemongrass soup was a well-balanced medium spicy, suitable for most taste buds. However, the real surprise was the steamed seafood paired with garlic bread – a combination that enhanced the flavors and added a satisfying texture contrast to the meal.Despite the restaurant's bustling atmosphere, especially noted during our last visit at 6:30 PM, the service remained commendable. Although there were minor hiccups, like two items missing from our order, the staff's efforts to rectify the situation were noteworthy. They promptly addressed the oversight with the kids' pho and graciously compensated with a complimentary coconut pandan lemonade, which was a refreshing end to our meal.Ginger and Lemongrass truly stands out not just for its authentic and flavorful dishes, but also for its dedication to customer satisfaction. The packed house is a testament to its popularity and the quality of its offerings. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic Vietnamese dining experience in Whitestone. Their commitment to flavor, service, and a genuine dining experience is evident in every dish and interaction.“
“Our Vietnamese stopover for 10 years when we stay in New York. Authentic, family-style cuisine, real availability and efficiency in service. Soups, salads, noodles or rice. Everything is perfect, fresh and delicious. A reference in Vietnamese cuisine that we love.Dietary restrictions: Multiple choice and adaptable cardKid-friendliness: It’s a restaurant where all ages and regulars and people passing through come together.“
“I got the chicken banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee. The sandwich was decent but I thought the veggies could’ve been pickled a bit more. The price point is good… and it’s closer to my parents’ house, so I’ll come by again and check out other items on the menu.Other info: There’s a bathroom, but limited seating. Metered parking.“
“We hit up Phoshime, primarily to have some warm, filling food after a long cold day in the city. Phoshime had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. The ambience was okay, it wasn't very busy for seated dining. The servers were extremely friendly, attentive and polite. Our food came out quickly and was flavorful and delicious. My only complaint was that I had 3 pork bones in my noodles, 2+ inches long! I can see how this happens once, but finding 3 was excessive. I mean... you could break a tooth or choke or something if you weren't careful! Despite the bones-in-the-noodles issue the overall experience was positive and there was a lot of food for the price.“
“We enjoyed a lovely dinner here. Chicken wings stole the show, incredibly tasty and crispy. They offer a wide range of Pho (noodle) as well. Desserts are also must-try, the coconut jelly and the creamcheese yoghurt are sooo refreshing while not too sweet. Will defo come back to try their House special rice and spring rolls.“
