“I’ll start by saying the food was absolutely outstanding. Everything from the chicken, all the sides, and even the salad was incredibly delicious.

However I don’t know that I would recommend this place for large groups. The biggest problem was that it was incredibly loud and hard to hear in there. Like actual shouting to hear the person next to you, it’s really difficult to talk to anybody not immediately next to you (and even then it’s not easy to hear).

Our service also wasn’t great, they set down our food and didn’t come back to the table for like 30 minutes and they only refilled our water when asked. All this is frustrating when you’re getting hit with the mandatory 20% gratuity for groups (which is fine but at the very least keep the waters filled and ask us if we want more drink orders).“

“Just got Dave’s Hot Chicken and it was fire fr. The chicken was super crispy and juicy, and the spice actually had flavor not just heat. The sauce went crazy with the fries too — everything was fresh and still hot when it got here. The portion’s solid for the price, and the toast on the side hit too. Overall it’s mad good if you’re craving something spicy and filling, definitely worth it.“

“We found the Commodore while searching for a place to eat with my partner, after a late arrival into JFK. At first we were thrown by the well patinaed circa 1980 LES dive bar decor, not that there's anything wrong with that, just not what we expected. Service is no frills, order at the bar, they bring the food to your table. Drinks were strong and served lighting fast. The food was awesome, some of the best Fried Chicken I ever had, crispy, juicy and nicely seasoned. My partner had the Mexican Chicken Soup, she loved it and let me get a taste, I agreed, it was amazing. We will return for sure!“

The lady in the front “her name is Nalini” she gave me the best customer service and the boys in the back they make the food best way possible. Their name is Alamin, Foysal and Shafiq. “This place is just as advertised. Quick and simple food done very well, for a great price. I got the 1/2 chicken combo with Greek lemon potatoes. Everything was solid, the chicken was nicely cooked and juicy with a classic rotisserie flavor. The lemon flavor came though nicely on the potatoes. You also get a green sauce that comes with the meal that adds a nice acidic herbal flavor. Also, I got the grilled buffalo wings which I really enjoyed. Many places do not offer grilled, so I really appreciated this. I find especially for takeout, fried wings lose the textural component and become soggy. The grilled adds an extra depth of flavor that I personally enjoy. Overall great value.“

“I been to alot of Popeyes in new York and this one is the best and the worker Omar is great he made me feel welcomed and when I ordered wrong it was my mistake he still made sure it was right I'll be going there more often than you Popeyes and the worker“

“Great value for excellent food! Delicious ribs and pernil. Conveniently located near DeKalb station and B13 bus stop.

Got two platters to go. Both packed to the brim. Ribs with Mac and cheese and fries. The ribs were flavorful and not dry, not sure what the spice were but it had excellent flavor. And there were 4 big ones!! The mac and cheese was good. The fries were unfortunately soggy. It is to go so I suppose it got limp in the container.

The second platter was pernil with rice and lo mein. Some of the pernil was quite dry, like overcooked dry, the other half was fatty and moist. Excellent flavor. For the price the portions and the flavors were on point.

The beef empanada was really excellent with their green sauce. It was crispy, filled with juicy beef, and excellent flavor overall. This was the best item overall!!

I got a side of sausage and this was also excellent. Nicely grilled and excellent flavors.

“Chicken and rice is beautiful, best I’ve tried in Brooklyn. They improved a lot since I was in town a year ago. The marinated chicken is very tasty, I think they use tomato, and the chicken is very well cooked, not greasy or anything. It is a little spicy tho, but the rest of the food balances it out. Rice cooked perfect as well. I remember last year I came here the rice was dry.“

“The most authentic Dominican 🇩🇴 food that I have ever had in all of Brooklyn. I wish I can give them 7 stars! The first reason being is the flavor/seasoning. It is rich in flavor without being salty or over seasoned. My second reason, there is such a huge variety of options to choose from. They have all the typical protein that you’re craving for on any particular day. My third reason, is the price is absolutely unbeatable. I mean, they offer incredible prices despite the current state of our economy. They have a couple of options for dessert as well whether that’s pastry or ice cream. Good amount of seats to dine in. “This is the only Halal spot around the area, relatively affordable, and relatively good tasting. Very good if you live around the area and feel hungry for some fast food.

One thing I liked about this place, is a while back, a worker gave me assurance that this specific spot was 100% Halal.

Workers are quite polite. I don’t think I ever had bad service. They used to not charge taxes for cash, idk if they started doing that or if it’s only for cards.

“Wow, never had their chicken before as I usually just get their burgers since I like thinner burger patties. I ordered two breast pieces and one thigh and got the potato wedges. Was so good I ate all 3 pieces of chicken, which is unheard for me as I usually only eat one or two, and all but maybe 5 wedges. Was delicious, hit the spot for sure. Food was also nice and hot and I got a ton of wedges, not some little fistful thrown in. The people that work there are also very nice, polite, and helpful.
