“Like most NYC restaurants, they really pack you in here. I was at a two top that was about a foot away from the next two top. We could hear our neighbors entire conversation but sometimes couldn't hear each other across the table. That said, the interior is light filled and airy feeling with its high ceilings. So a mixed bag on ambience. I got the shakshuka for brunch and it was very salty. There wasn't a ton of harissa flavor or other flavor besides the overwhelming saltiness. The eggs were a touch runny as well. My guest got sides of yogurt and sausage. She said the yogurt was very runny but taste was good. The sausage tasted homemade and had a nice and interesting spice balance. Not the best brunch spot I've tried but it wasn't bad either. If it's not busy, it'd probably be a good local option though I wouldn't travel for it.“

“Mikes has been a staple in the community for almost 40 years i remember bringing my kid to have breakfast on Saturday mornings before her activities it was cheap and cheerful Pratt students and faculty would be there as well. Now its practically same staff bathroom remodeled and costs have increased but so as everuthing else same friendly and fulfilling breakfast no bells and whistles but simple good food“
“Great addition to the neighborhood. Nice place to relax and enjoy.“

“They focus on customer satisfaction here. Service was impressively thorough! Their dessert menu shows particular attention. I plan to tell family members about this restaurant where good food comes with good service. I genuinely value this spot, and you'll value it too.“

“Best babka I’ve ever had, ohhhh my goodness. Best bakery I’ve been to in a long time, and I am bakery-obsessed. Already dreaming of how and when I can make my way back to Park Slope just for this and the super chocolate-chip cookie. But that babka, this subtle mix of Nutella and chocolate (I don’t even like Nutella) and the smooth, moistness of it all is so perfect, with this sugared little crispy bottom. Shoutout to Omri, a talented stop-motion artist working his last week, who was so warm and helpful to me.
5 stars!!!!“

“What an amazing specialty coffee shop here in Brooklyn. The cortado was delicious and I also got a hot chocolate for the kids. The staff were so friendly and kind. The service was extremely fast. They also were generous and gave me some extra cups to give out the hot chocolate to my kids in different cups. There is some space to sit and work or meet but the place was already pretty packed back late morning. I’d highly recommend coming here if you like good espresso and specialty coffee“

“After hearing great things about Land to Sea, we made the trip all the way from Long Island City—with our foster dog Mission in tow! The staff were so kind and even offered him ice water on a hot morning, which we really appreciated. We sat outside and were grateful for the shaded seating.
I had the roast pork bun and coconut bun—both were absolutely delicious! Perfectly chewy, moist, and full of authentic flavor.
Thank you for your kindness and hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

“Had an excellent iced latte (rich flavor notes of cacao — it’s rare that I’ve had an iced milk espresso drink where the coffee beans’ flavor is still so prominent)! Nice atmosphere, though it might be hard to find a seat at a table at peak times. Clean bathroom (1).“

“The staff here are always super friendly, no matter what time of day you stop by, which definitely adds to the experience. However, it is on the pricier side compared to other local coffee spots like Variety. I paid $18 for a bacon (Canadian ham), egg, and cheese on focaccia. It was tasty, but honestly, not quite worth the price. The space is very small and can be uncomfortable waiting for food/drinks when there is more than three people inside.“

“Absolutely gorgeous cafe with a nice mellow vibe and great coffee and cake, all served beautifully in a minimalist design. I really wanted to give 5 stars however the service is horrible and the lady working here is not friendly and also some tables are left dirty. Too bad because it really takes away from this beautiful place.“

“I absolutely love this place and it’s my top choice whenever I’m in Brooklyn! The Spanish latte is a must-try for me—it’s so creamy and perfectly sweet. Even when it gets busy, the service is super quick, and the baristas really know what they’re doing. I typically spend around $7–8 for a drink, which isn’t the cheapest, but honestly, the amazing taste and overall vibe make it totally worth it!“

“Best golden milk latte EVER made so much more fab by the multiple non dairy options that are way above and beyond the usual coffee shop choices… mine (with Mac-nut Mylk) was SO good I returned for a second order as soon as the first was gone! ✨🌠💫🌟
And some pretty terrific vegan bagels with vegan toppings and vegan cream cheeses. A smorgasbord“

“The OG stop from the Sweetleaf family. Coffee is unmatched, vibes are always chill. Exactly what you’d expect from a Brooklyn coffee shop/roaster… but these guys are next level community folk and do so much for the barista/coffee community. There are no better people in this industry than Rich, Nick, Frank and co.“

“This place is bomb! Truly a bright spot in an area without so many options. The bowls are huge and delicious, sandwiches are perfectly dressed with house made sauces. They also have an extensive sweets and coffee menu, which I don't see myself eating anytime soon, but don't miss the savory side of the menu.“

“I really like this place because they have great speciality lattes, but wish it was more consistent! It really depends on who’s behind the counter — last week I tried the istanbloom orange latte and it was delicious. The person (I wish I got her name) put enough ice, added fresh orange zest on top, and was friendly. I’ve gotten it twice since then with different people and it was alright, tasted a little watered down and no fresh orange zest.
One side note — they don’t have decaf espresso!
Such small variations between both visits but resulted in different experiences.“

“Love love love this service! I’ve been so disappointed with grocery stores for the past few years, even organic is tasteless or never reaches ripeness and with a baby, I do not have the time to go to farmers markets. I got my first order delivered today and I was so blown away by the quality and freshness of the produce. I could smell the strawberries almost from the next room, the nectarines were beautifully ripe and full of flavor. The cheese was delicious.
I can’t wait to try everything else I bought! This time was just a test order but I absolutely will be buying all of my produce and dairy from Farm to People from now on. And half of the money goes directly to the farmers?! Seriously, what’s not to love. Finally I can feed my family some REAL, good food.“

“I can't say enough good things about this place. The owner has a special way of making you feel right at home, and that warmth extends to the entire staff. His assistants are all fantastic cooks, and no matter when you visit, the food is consistently top-notch.
While there are a few dishes that might not be my personal favorite, almost everything on the menu is excellent and the prices are incredibly reasonable. It's a great spot for a delicious and inexpensive meal. Plus, they offer group cooking classes, which is a unique and fun way to learn some of their secrets!“

“Great little spot…cozy atmosphere and friendly and welcoming bar tender (Miss Barb’s son). It’s a coffee shop by day that transforms into a bar in the evening, which was a pleasant surprise. I wish they had beer on tap, but the selection of canned beers is solid. I’ll definitely be coming back. Also great vibes and music.“

“A little gem. This small spot with a beautiful back patio squeezed in a group of 10 or so. The mushroom pizza was all we had but was 5/5 and worth a trip. Their dough is so light and pillowy but with crisp edges and a fantastic bite. The toppings on the mushroom pizza were perfectly seasoned and a very nice ratio (not overpowering the cheese or dough). Honestly though, the dough was special and is worth the trip to explore their other pizzas. Next time we come we will absolutely get a few pies and take home whatever is left. But if everything is as good as that mushroom pizza, there's small chance of leftovers.“

“I’m a fan of half caff espressos and have been using a 50/50 mix of Flatiron and Ghost Town. It’s really delicious. I used to drink cortados, but this is so good that I’ve grown accustomed to drinking it as a straight espresso shot. It’s my new staple!“

“five leaves was the first restaurant i visited on my first ever trip to nyc in 2017.
ever since then coming back here has become a tradition.
8 years on and the spot is still just as warm and welcoming, albeit way more busy which is incredible to see because the place deserves to thrive. easily my fav spot in the city (i fully blame the ricotta pancakes).
i haven’t been to nyc in years but coming back here today felt like coming home in so many ways.
thank you cody for taking such great care of me and thank you everyone at five leaves for even making a tourist feel like a part of the community. 🫶 (also pls restock those tote bags, the nation needs them!!)“
