“I stopped in to Hartman's while I was visiting Buffalo for the weekend. The brunch was amazing! Now that I'm back home I'm wishing we had a brunch restaurant like that in my town!“

Frankie and Dustin always have great recommendations for drinks and are so sweet and welcoming to everyone, you can tell they’re very beloved by all patrons. “We live right around the corner from Equal Parts (less than a block), so I've been following them on Instagram for a bit to see what they're all about. The more I've learned about them the more I wanted to visit. I was optimistic that they could be our new neighborhood bar.

We finally got an opportunity to visit this evening, on a Thursday around seven. When we first walked up it seemed packed full and I was a little anxious, just because I avoid crowded places. I looked inside to make sure there was room and I was pleasantly surprised that there were a few four tops available. Most folks were at the bar. I prefer a table anyways, so it was perfect.

We got to a table and someone came up right away. I ordered a Paper Plane and Matt got the Lagunitas IPA (um, great price at $6!). I had already heard the owners were from San Francisco, which makes us so happy because we happen to be from the same area!

We ordered the pasta chips and flatbread to snack on. They were both delicious! I love sweet and savory and the dip that came with the pasta chips definitely delivered on that!

I also got the best dirty martini I've had yet! I always want to ask for three olives, but don't want to be a pain. This one came with three olives without me asking!

We'll definitely be back lots! So close, so welcoming, such delicious cocktails, very reasonable prices. Everyone was so kind, there was no pretension whatsoever.

If you are in the large lounge where we were, your tables are low round coffee tables, so you eat hunched over for something like a beet salad which ended up more on the floor than in our mouths. Charcuterie tray is scant and feeds 2 at best. The oysters were watery and the taste was slightly off. We ordered 8 small plates and everyone said we are gonna need an ABV run for dinner. So I recommend small parties - no more than 4, else you will collide with the next group of tables. Great place for drinks but plan as pre or post dinner stop over like you would Savoy.“

“We went for our anniversary and it was a lovely time. Definitely recommend for any occasion. The mussels are a must have, and are discounted on Mondays. Our server Maia was excellent, very professional and eager to create a memorable dining experience.“

“I don’t know where to start, one of the best all around dining experiences of my life. Started with the toasted marshmallow espresso martini which I had to try three of to confirm how delicious they were. Then me an my two friends order the octopus, lamb meatballs, and bone marrow. Rarely does every appetizer hit but these were all out of the park home runs. For the entree I got the roast chicken, and my friends got the two different duck entrees and a takeout container was not necessary. The vibe and service was just as good as the food, we also had the chance to talk with the owners father who gave us some background on the operation and overall just a very friendly environment with unbelievable food, and not very expensive for the value. I will be back again!“

“Went there before a play for dinner at Shea's Buffalo. This place is on the Chippewa bar strip, so we were not expecting much. Walking inside, it looks like a typical party/cocktail bar, brick walls, long bar, and tables opposite the bar with plastic chairs and Formica tables, so you are sitting in the bar. At 5:30PM on restaurant week before a nearby playing of Hamilton, we were the only diner's there (and only 4 others at the bar). Now the good part.... one of the best meals I have had in a long time!!!!! Waitress/bartender was prompt, attentive and friendly. The special for restaurant week that we had was $35 for soup/salad (I had soup), Duck with asparagus, yams, sprouts and and pie for dessert. This meal was fabulous! Perfect portion and perfect flavor. The caramel/peanut butter pie was luscious! On top of all this, we were there during happy hour, so $3 a beer. I highly recommend trying this place to eat, just don't expect a cozy, intimate atmosphere. You won't be disappoints, and you won't be broke.“
