“I've always walked by this shop and wanted to check it out one day. While they have a selection of Korean household dishes/banchan, you can also order food to eat here (although there isn't much seating except for a bar at the window).

Their selection of banchan (Korean side dishes) are thoughtfully curated and made in-house. They seem to use premium ingredients and their prices reflect that. I didn't get any of their banchan as I already had a lot at home, but I did try their beef kimbap. Maybe my expectations were really high, but I didn't see anything special with it. It was good, but you could easily find kimbap that tastes just as good at a more affordable price.“

“I visited this restaurant one of the midnight for some food with my friends couple days ago. The food was delicious and hit the spot perfectly. However, what truly made my visit memorable and the reason I'm writing this review was the outstanding performance of the server.
The place seemed busy, but this server was operating on another level! I was genuinely amazed watching him work. Incredible Multitasking and Efficiency.He was seamlessly handling *everything* taking orders from multiple tables, answering customer questions, serving food, and clearing tables – all seemingly at once. The most impressive part was his consistently *excellent attitude* Despite the intense workload and juggling so many tasks, he remained incredibly patient, attentive, and genuinely friendly with every single customer. “I’ve grown up going to the flushing location and was so excited to see one in LIC. I ordered through Grubhub and had the worst experience with Grubhub. They didn’t have enough drivers and delayed my order 2 hours.. I felt so bad that the restaurant probably already made my food and that it was sitting there. I eventually cancelled with Grubhub because their customer service was abysmal and they still didn’t have a sense of when a courier would get there, but felt so bad that the restaurant would ultimately suffer the loss! The restaurant even called me shortly after the order was cancelled to apologize and explain that the food was already made but that the Grubhub courier never arrived. I’ve never had a restaurant go out of their way to do that. I felt so bad that Grubhub screwed them over. Their food is amazing, but their service is even better. Go in person or call in your order and pick it up. Don’t deal with food delivery apps unless you absolutely must, and if you do I hope your experience is better than mine!“

“The food was really good. All of it was made well and for the most part amazing service. My only issue was the white hostess told us there were no tables and seated us right by the door completely cramped. Asking another waiter he was able to move us and said we need to be done at 8 as the table was reserved. This was at 6, showing the hostess just did not seat us well and communicate properly. If seated there we were ready to leave, but because the other staff were competent, we stayed and enjoyed good food. My other issue is as the tables are small we could only eat one plate at a time. Otherwise, it was very good! I just wish the hostess did not ruin the experience from the get go, with her incompetence.“

“We were incredibly impressed at C as in Charlie. Every single dish we had was very good - 3 of them were exceptional. The mozzarella/green pepper with soy balsamic was insanely good, the ribs were melt in your mouth and the prawn roll delicious too. “The food is delicious and the service remarkably and memorably friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We started with the brussels, which have a sweet vinaigrette dressing and are cooked perfectly. The ribs were meaty, not fatty, with flavorful spicing. The corn and cheese is a surprise --- on the cob, but with chili powder. But the highlight was the kimchi fried rice, a uniquely delicious and satisfying dish topped by a perfectly poached egg. We closed the main courses with seafood kalguksu, a slightly spicy noodle soup with all kinds of seafood. Best seafood broth ever. Period Every other table had the black sesame bread pudding, so we decided to try it. They were right. Don't think about the huge volume of butter involved. All in all, small plates with huge flavors served by a wonderful wait team. Thanks Gurumé.“

“Finally went to Moono and it delivered. Each dish held its own with unique flavors. We had a la carte among four of us with a bottle of makeoli and were happily filled with 1 appetizer and 3 entrees. We ordered an extra bowl of white rice which is the move as so many dishes had excellent sauces that you just wanted to soak up with rice, plus the white rice itself is perfect with a sweetness to it.

We had Hoe Muchim + Kim, Beef Hotpot, Mushroom Sotbap, and Galbijjim. It was outstanding from the cold cucumber soup at the beginning to the end. Beef hotpot is great for those who appreciate that pure beef taste and experience- it is lightly seasoned and in my opinion a great contrast to the big flavors of Galbijjim. Galbijjim is a crowd pleaser and easy to enjoy, it is a most indulgent version with meat removed from the bones. We only wished the dish were layered with more vegetables / mushrooms, which were not side characters in this dish. Sotbap was fragrant - only wished that they scooped out the crispy bits, which are the best parts. Maybe they can offer guests the option to serve themselves rather than take away and return with the scooped out bowls for each person.

Also would love to see more makgeolli options on the drinks menu.

“Hojokban is great. Had a 1pm reservation, came a little early and that had no issue seating us. Staff was friendly and accommodating. All the food I ordered was great.

“This dining experience at Joo Ok made our trip to New York extra special🫶 Your excitement starts with you making the reservation. The unique elevator literally elevates the excitement. The food, can’t say another word, just perfect. And it doesn’t stop until you get home since you get a little bag of their special tea at the end. The staff were spectacular. The Empire State Building was right by the window glowing making the dinner very memorable. Highly recommended!“

A good date spot, but not somewhere I'd go regularly. If you can get a table at Ariari nearby, go there instead.“

Specializes in tofu dishes so we plumped for the spicy tofu hotpot but also ordered some tasty beef and zucchini pancakes and spicy gochujang chicken. Maybe a little on the sweeter side for my taste but isn’t everything in the USA? 😜 Regardless, it was stupid tasty and we inhaled everything“

“Got a last minute reservation, was 10 minutes late, but still accommodated quickly with no issues. It was busy when we came, but the service was still very prompt.

We came for a light dinner and got the cold noodles and a bossam plate. The cold noodles, EXCEPTIONAL. We are all cold noodle fanatics and a lot of restaurants in k-town are hit or miss with cold noodles specifically. Bossam plate was also very delicious, though I do agree with some of the reviews that it is a bit overpriced for the portion size.

“Reservations weren’t easy to snag, but the food was absolutely worth it, and surprisingly affordable. I ordered the Bucket List and tried one of each of the caviar nuggets, and everything was amazing. Perfect spot for a night out. Service was a 10/10. The staff at the front acknowledged us right away and had us seated quickly. Nothing felt rushed, and the servers were consistently attentive throughout the meal.“

“I had the chance to check out Seoul bap in the city and glad i did. We ordered a few different items and a couple drinks so we could taste a variety of things. We started off with drinks, mine was pretty strong they do not skimp on the alcohol.
For appetizers we had the korean fried chicken and corn cheese. The kfc was nice and crispy with a nice kick to it. The corn cheese was delicious and even had a spicy cauliflower in it that gave it some flare.
For main courses we did the famous galbi jjim - this is a must! It is tender fall of the bone perfection, the sauce is divine and the parsnip puree completes it. The spicy pork wasn't that spicy which I preferred and was good on its own. And then the burrata tteokbokki, what a combo! The burrata really added a nice cooling touch to the spicy sauce, really great pairing.
We ended dinner with black Sesame ice cream which was very velvety.

After a great dinner at Mari, I had high hopes for this sister concept. Came in for a late weekday lunch and the counter still had plenty of open seats.

I went with the 5-roll set and a yellowtail sashimi app. Everything was fairly priced and the handrolls were solid, but not the best I’ve had in this range. One detail I loved wasn’t the fish, but the sauces. Every seat came stocked with four house-made options, and the mustard soy and chili soy really added the flavors I wanted for the rolls.

Not sure I’d pick this over some of the city’s lower-cost lunch omakase spots, but if you’re after something more filling than a poke bowl and less of a commitment than omakase, this is a great option.“
