“Great choice for specialty bagel

As someone born and raised in New York, I’m always on the hunt for a solid bagel spot and Curley’s Bagels caught my attention. It’s a grab and go place, but the inside is surprisingly beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Definitely more elevated than your average bagel shop.

When I walked in, I was impressed by the variety. They had tons of specialty bagels, options with avocado and eggs, and even gluten-free bagels, which is a great choice for anyone with dietary needs. I was tempted to try something creative, but I decided to stick with a classic: a sesame bagel with scallion cream cheese “my personal favorite”. Lol

The woman at the counter was super kind and helpful, and the overall vibe from the staff was warm and welcoming. Even though it was busy, my bagel was made quickly. I also grabbed a coffee, which had a nice bold, dark roast flavor. They offered oat milk, almond milk, and half and half something for everyone.

Biting into the bagel, it was everything I wanted: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with generously spread scallion cream cheese full of flavor and fresh herbs. Honestly, it felt more like a luxury bagel experience than your typical deli stop.

I spent about $9 for a bagel and coffee, which is a bit on the higher side, but the quality made it worth it. Plus, it was within walking distance from my doctor’s office, so it felt like a great find in the neighborhood.

“A Must-Visit Latin Fusion Experience!

From the moment you walk into Arriba Latin Fusion, you’re greeted with a warm, homely atmosphere that sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The service is top-notch—kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making you feel like a valued guest.

Now, let’s talk about the food—simply amazing! Each dish bursts with authentic flavors and creative twists. The Truffle Yuca Fries are crispy perfection, with the earthy aroma of truffle taking them to the next level. The Chicharron Picado is a flavor explosion, rich and perfectly seasoned. And those Ropa Vieja Sliders? Absolutely divine, combining tender, savory beef with the perfect soft bun.

The entrées are just as impressive. The Ropa Vieja is tender and packed with flavor, a true homage to this classic dish. The Arroz con Pollo is comforting and full of rich spices, and the Salmon a la Brasa is grilled to perfection—moist, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth good.

To top it off, the desserts are a sweet finale. The Flan is silky smooth with a delightful caramel glaze, while the Tres Leches cake is moist, decadent, and absolutely irresistible.

And don’t even get me started on the drinks—they are on point! Perfectly crafted to complement the food, they elevate the entire dining experience.

“I buy broiled salmon regularly at the Fish House because cooking it at home means lingering odors in my apartment. The salmon is always fresh and cooked perfectly. The one-pound portion is enough for my family of three people to share, plus it comes with rice and salad. We also love their seasoned fries, which are called JoJo's. The fish is cooked to order, so I recommend calling ahead so that your order is ready for you. If not it takes about 15 minutes to prepare. They have waiting areas both outside and inside with tables and chairs.“

“Despite the cool atmosphere, good vibe, and enjoyable drinks, our experience was hindered by inattentive service. We waited at the bar for quite some time, trying to catch the eye of two different waiters, but were largely ignored. It was disappointing, especially given that they were pretty much right in front of us, backs turned, walking by and seemed to be doing everything possible to actually serve customers.

The shrimp were not very good given the price. The tuna tartar was excellent.“

Given the limited seating and the small number of guests, we expected more attention and guidance on the menu. However, the menu was not extensive, so we didn’t receive a comprehensive overview of the dishes.

Despite these shortcomings, the food was delicious. Each dish was unique, and the flavors and presentation were perfect. This is a seafood restaurant, so be prepared for a variety of dishes, some of which are served raw.

“We ordered 2 shrimp burgers, cocktails, tartare and bread and butter. The cocktails are great! The quality is very good. The shrimp burgers aren't bad either. Not exactly wow, but good enough. But for an aperitif, the bread and butter should be improved a little... the bread should be a soft white baguette, crispy, and the butter should have pieces of salt. Instead, gray bread with barely salted butter. If this point had been changed, the rating would have been 5. But despite this, the dinner was good! We will definitely come back again ♥️“

“Ilis was highly recommended to us by a friend who is a chef, after we asked about suggestions on restaurants in New York that truly push boundaries. It did not disappoint. While we are quite familiar with the concept of radical local sourcing and seasonal cooking organised by colder and warmer days, (yes, days not months), Ilis still managed to surprise us. We opted for the market menu, which is tailored to the ingredients available on that very day, and were treated to an additional dish. Each course was impeccably well prepared and presented effortlessly, and fun! The natural taste of the ingredients was allowed to shine, offering the rare opportunity to unspoil your palate and rediscover how herbs, vegetables, and meat/fish taste on their own, when not suffocated in fat, sugar, and spices. This, we believe, is the key to the success of Ilis and its chef Mads Refslund: being able to keep the dishes almost naked while never loosing the culinary direction. An absolute standout was the extra dish: raw tuna scraped from the dorsal fin spine, followed by the other side grilled with sesame. It was nothing short of a feast! Another memorable feature is Ilis' book of ingredients, which you can browse through between courses. It offers insight into their sourcing, philosophy, food preferences, and quirks (giggle). Lastly, the open kitchen is from another orbit, with its wood-fired charcoal oven, open barbecues, and dedicated adjacent fish and meat smoking stations. We could rave on and on about it. Very special place, which easily deserves six stars.“

I honestly love this place it’s become a go-to for me and my girlfriend. We came by on a Friday around 5 p.m. and tried all the specials for the day, plus some oysters. Everything was incredible. The seafood here always tastes super fresh and flavorful you can tell they really care about the quality and taste of their dishes.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the service is always on point, and the area itself is great to walk around before or after your meal. This spot never disappoints. Highly recommend!“

“We had a nice experience here. My steak was very good, I really did enjoy it. My husband things his dish dish was also pleasant. At first our waiter was a bit stiff and stand offish but he opened up and was professional. The location is beautiful and so is the space. I wouldn’t make a special trip to go back here specifically but if I’m in the mall again, I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s quality service and food, expensive but it’s NYC.“
