“Had a late lunch here on Saturday. It was my first time and I loved it. We arrived around 2pm. Lots of free parking available. We received a friendly greeting and directed to an open table. Every table had a little tablet to order from. You can also request other items. Each table has drawers with cutlery and napkins. We ordered Kim's JJamppong and a new item (white JJamppong). The first is spice and had a deepr flavour from the pork. The second is brimming with smoky flavour. Both are great! And of course the noodles 🍜 are a huge highlight. We also ordered sweet and sour pork. Very unique and tasty. All dishes are great value. Loved the service and the kpop. Would love to come again.“

“If I could give it 6 stars, I would. This place is PHENOMENAL, such a hidden gem. The food is upscale and comforting while served within a warm and welcoming interior (I love the baby fireplace). Thanks for the delicious meal and great service, we will definitely be back!“

“We both ordered the teri tonkatsu and it came out perfectly the pork was thick and juicy, with a super crispy coating that stayed crunchy the whole time. The teriyaki sauce was rich and slightly sweet, soaking into the cutlet and rice in the best way. Everything felt really well balanced and filling without being too heavy. It’s the kind of simple, comforting meal that’s done really well.“

“Wonderful food, super quick service. The Consomme Chicken is a must try for sure! The Butter Garlic Fries were also amazing.
Portion size is great. The combo with rose topokki is enough for 2 people, and can even be a lot if you're light eaters.“

“The food here was really good. If you've ever been to one of their other locations you know you're getting a big, tasty plate of fried chicken and it will be good. My one comaint with this location is that they don't seem to believe in heating their location! It was so cold inside.“

“I love this place! We went pretty late— around 9-10pm ish and everyone who worked there was so nice to us!
We got the gimbap with tuna mayo, the tteok gangjeong, the fried tofu, and the japchae! The portions are generous and you can tell care really goes into the food. The japchae had such a good sort of smokiness, but honestly everything tasted really good!
If you want some Korean food that really feels like your mom or grandma made it definitely go here!!“

“Seems like most people who know about this place lately, especially those not from the downtown area, found it through social media. Same for us, so we decided to give it a try.
We went on a Sunday just before 2:30 pm, just in time for their $18.99 (Apr 2026) buffet lunch, which runs until 3:30 pm. It wasn’t too busy, with only about four groups dining when we arrived. You can choose between ordering à la carte or going for the buffet.
For the price, the variety was pretty decent. Flavour-wise, it leans on the sweeter side, which might not be for everyone, just personal preference. We also found ourselves surprisingly thirsty for the rest of the day after. The menu felt more Korean-Chinese than strictly Korean, with quite a few dishes leaning more Chinese. Also, no lettuce wraps or bibimbap, which was a bit of a letdown.
The spicy pork bone dish was definitely a highlight for me. On the flip side, the kimbap was disappointing. The rice was dry and hard, and it had a slight sour smell and taste, which wasn’t great. Service was okay overall.
All in all, it’s good value for now. With how popular it’s getting, prices have already started creeping up since the buffet was introduced and will probably keep rising. If it stays around this price, we’d likely come back if we’re in the downtown area again.
Note: Btw, you get a complimentary plate of gyozas (for à la carte menu) if you give a 5-stars Google review.“

“This place is a real gem. It feels like it’s run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can tell there’s a lot of care put into everything. The overall experience is always satisfying, and the jokbal is genuinely really good—tender, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared.
The only minor downside is that parking can be a bit inconvenient, depending on the time you go. But honestly, it’s still worth it, and I find myself coming back often.
If you’re craving solid jokbal with a warm, local vibe, this spot is an easy recommendation.“

“Had such a great experience here! The service was incredibly friendly, fast, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We were served by Angel, who was attentive and made sure everything was perfect.
We ordered the chicken wings and they were delicious. They were very crispy, flavourful, and fresh. I also really appreciated that they offer halal options, which made it an easy choice for us.
Definitely would come back again!“

“Stumbled upon this hidden gem absolutely by random luck. Originally I was looking a that old school burger place near by, and saw this come up as nearby! And I am super happy to find this.
The place is in a warehouse area. Mainly catering take out or probably delivery. Almost wanna call it a hole-in-a-wall place. Rather hard to find. But its worth looking for it!
The fried chicken is Soooooooo juicy! The veggie topic is fresh. The sauce actually goes surprisingly well with the poutine!
So we order 2 sandwiches, a chicken poutine and a medium order of wings . And we totally have food coma half way through! The portion is very genoirous! We still have stuff left for dinner!
Also the staff is super nice and helpful!
Definitely gonna repeat“

“We went late last night to take a chance and see how the gluten free options would be as a celiac. We did call ahead and they said we can let our serve know at the time.
Our server brought out the allergen sheet for the sides and the supervisor was very welcoming and informative on what meats were ok to eat without any gluten and cross contamination - they were pretty well informed which is refreshing. Was our first bbq experience after the diagnosis and we were happily pleased!
Can’t wait to be back!“

“Update:
Today I brought friends here expecting a great experience, as this used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.
We asked the server for extra side dishes, and he simply brought them over without mentioning that there would be an additional charge. Later, we noticed a $7 charge per side on the receipt, totaling $21. At no point were we informed about the cost or given an option for portion size.
When we raised the issue, the response made things worse. We were told the receipt couldn’t be changed, the manager wasn’t available, and the staff weren’t trained to use the system. That level of unpreparedness is unacceptable.
It’s really disappointing to see a place I used to recommend go downhill like this. Unfortunately, this was my last visit.
————————————
My go-to spot for Chicken Katsu and Short Rib!
The Chicken Katsu is always perfectly crispy, and the sauce is unbelievably good—rich, tangy, and addictive. Paired with the fresh cabbage salad on the side, it hits all the right notes. The short rib is tender and flavorful, and the rice portion is just right—not too much, not too little.“

“The food was warm, hearty, and hit the spot. I got the ox bone soup which was very good. My friend got the seafood noodle soup and his portion was huge. Which is good, because he eats like a monster. Plenty of side dishes and they gave us refills of the ones we liked which is always a plus.
The place was busy for dinner time but it didn't feel overly crowded. 10/10, will be back to chase away the winter blues with some hot Korean stews!“

“Really enjoy this place. Food is great, service too. Also a very decent Open Mic on Wednesdays open for various acts like Comedy, Poetry, Music. Sure, there may be a performance that isn’t everyone’s fave but doesn’t reflect the restaurant itself. Overall it’s well run and majority of acts understand and do well.“

“Been to Onnuri on multiple occasions and each visit has been great! Service is excellent on most occasions and at times when it’s busy it can be a bit slow.
Korean Fried Chicken is crispy, juicy and made to order! My usual order is their 5pc chicken with a pint of Asahi. Other items from their menu which are just as good is their Soon Tofu and Bibimbap!
Overall, this is one of my favourite Korean spots to dine at and they have all the standard Korean dishes available on their menu as well. The taste is authentic and has a good kick of spice! Location can accommodate larger parties but always good to call ahead!“

“Had such a lovely night at Yummy Korean Food Restaurant with my girls! We ordered the stir-fried rice with kimchi and pork, potato pancake, soft tofu stew with beef & vegetables, and the vegetable dumpling soup with rice cake, everything was comforting, flavourful , and really satisfying. The food hit the spot and the overall vibe made it a great place to sit, eat, and enjoy each other’s company. Definitely recommend giving this spot a try! 💕🍲“

“I walked in here starved, starved like I was going to Mandarin. However this is no mandarin, this is sinjeon, one of the best if not the best Korean food stops I’ve ever been too. And I’ve been around the block something awful this is Torontos best hidden gem amongst the dirt. It shines in the dark. I would give 6 stars if I could, I recommend everybody comes here for a try at least once in they life.“

“Hidden gems that I truly don’t want to tell. Great amount of food! Taste is fantastic! Love gamjatang (a bit spicy but very flavourful!) No, everything was tasty! Old style place which I love it! Please don’t change anything the way it looks and tastes. Small restaurant so of course take a bit time but I can be patient. Tight space so better go when not busy time. Highly recommend :)“

“AMAZING! Don’t let the menu simplicity fool you, this is some of the freshest, tastiest Korean food out there. Vegetables were incredibly crispy and the tuna kimbap well constructed and flavorfully balanced, and very fairly priced.
So good, can’t wait to go back!

“From the moment I opened the containers, the aroma took me straight back to the streets of Myeong-dong. I was genuinely feeling like I was right there in Korea,
The food is absolutely amazing. The beef bento box had that perfect balance of smoky sweetness, and had that deep, fermented kick that you usually only find in a home-cooked meal in Seoul.
Every bite was a nostalgic explosion of flavor—crispy, savory, and perfectly seasoned.
It is rare to find a takeout spot that maintains this level of quality and soul. If you’re craving a true taste of Korea without the 14-hour flight, this is the place to go. My soul is happy and my stomach is full. Thank you seoul for making this amazing dishes .“

“I always love to eat at woojoo bunsik, first time came to this location though. It’s pretty small branch, so if you have more than 4 people, it would be difficult to find a table. We got the new bulgogi chicken bokki as my friend can’t eat spicy, we love it! Such a great combination since we always eat tteokbokki with the original sauce or other spicy sauces. And of course, we got the spicy mayo salmon rice ball, super yummy. And last one, we ordered unagi tofu pocket. I loved all of the food!! Basically 10 out of 10, it’s just my problem it was so cold there but obv would come back here“

“It was a spontaneous late-night snack.
Last night was truly one to remember — the street was bustling around midnight with an exuberant rally on Yonge St. It also marked the end of an unforgettable February for me.
At first, I was just looking for something simple, but as I drove down the street, I changed my mind and craved Korean food. I couldn’t help laughing, realizing it had turned into the longest drive for a late-night meal because of the rally.
When I finally got there, I only had about 45 minutes. Since it was my first time visiting, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The side dishes came out first — all delicious — and that’s when my hunger pangs really kicked in.
I ordered the bulgogi on a hot plate and gamjatang with noodles. Both were savoury and full of flavour. The servers were kind and attentive, and they didn’t rush me, even though I finished right at 1 AM.
I loved their brick counter and cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely come back for the pot ❤️“

“I had searched previously on Google to find a little spot where to eat and this came up. It's a little shop with almost everything you need for a perfect Korean or Japanese meal! It was freezing cold outside so I ordered a Salmon Bento (17$) including a miso soup, and it was honestly everything I needed. It was so comforting! The cashier was so nice and let me know that my order would be ready in 10 minutes, which was the case! I came in late (~ 2pm) and many sushis were still available. I'll definitely come again if I'm in the area! Thank you so much 💗“
