“We visited Citizen back in Feb 2026 and had a good time so this is an overdue review.

The service was excellent and server was very attentive. The restaurant atmosphere was nice, quiet, perfect for a date night.

The food was really good overall but nothing blew me out of this world (except for the panna cotta). The scallop ceviche with Tom yum sauce was good. I appreciate the combination but feels like something is lacking (maybe the lack of acidity from lime that you would normally expected from a south east asian-inspired dish). The rabbit croquette was sooo good and with the great amount of spiciness. Though I feel like the dish is missing something that will bring it to the next level. The ravioli with escargot was surprisingly alright. I love snails and escargot but thought that the flavour was a bit too safe. Quail and pork belly was cooked to perfection, so tender!

The star of the meal has to be the dessert. We got chocolate cake with orange sauce (?) and apple pana cotta. The chocolate was creamy and the tangy sauce is such a good combo but very classic. The apple panna cotta is out of this world. I can dedicate a whole paragraph on how delicious it was! The sweetness is perfect with light airy panna cotta. The apple bits and sauce was soo good and flavorful, combining with crunchy oats. I don't like apple dessert until I had this one. I would give the panna cotta 100/10.

“Been coming here since I was a kid. Whether you come every week or skip a year or five, the familiar faces always welcoming you back. This makes Louis the best restaurant and the best pizza in Ottawa. Thank you for making it feel like home. Meat lovers, fries and the best gravy in Town.“

“On average we get take out from Sula Wok once per week. We love the food and the vibe of the place. (Sula and her gang are also very nice to deal with). I really like the traditional Pad Thai. Recently, Sula asked that I try a slightly new version of the dish (apparently less fishy). Sula asked that I let her know if I liked it or not. While I thought the taste was a little different (maybe not as spicy or “fishy”), I still loved it and will be ordering it again.“

“Food is pretty alright. My mileage varies for what exactly I like to eat here(you have to follow the seasonal menu). Cocktails are pretty fun - I personally like the ones where they add candy to the mix haha

I think there has only been one time where service was slow, but she luckily put it on the house since I had to go upstairs (I was seated in the basement with my friends) and grab her attention.

Fortunately, the games are pretty well organized and well-kept; I think every game I've played with my friends has had its pieces mostly in tact.
I also enjoyed the video gaming experience; nitpick: the games have no sound. Not a huge dealbreaker(especially since game sound might negatively add to the pub's noise levels) but just something to know.
Washrooms are great - I believe they are mostly gender neutral? Otherwise, they are at least well cleaned.“

“We’ve visited the Kanata location twice this fall. The service is excellent! We love the cauliflower wings; they are so good! We get half and half because both sauces are amazing. All the food is delicious. The atmosphere is good. Our new favourite restaurant when we are in Kanata. It’s great to have a vegetarian restaurant with so many excellent choices, and healthy too!“

“Went here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. A very delicious widespread of food! We were not disappointed. Amazing customer service, cute drinks, and yummy food. What more could we ask for?! One of our favourites was their unique dinner for two, fried chicken pizza and salad! Very filling, a good contrast, and not greasy! We will definitely be back!“

“Visited Montana's 13th November 2022 with a group of 7 other people. The atmosphere was good, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and conversation, followed by our server taking our meal order. She was very efficient and ensured all our needs were met. The order took longer than expected to arrive, and when it did, the food was just warm. We explained to the server who was apologetic, the food was heated to our satisfaction, and enjoyed by all. We were visited by the Manager In order to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, following the issue we had experienced. She very kindly told us she was giving us a reduction on the total price as a sign of goodwill, and also provided free dessert for the group. I would say that was an excellent show of hospitality on the part of Montana's, and we will definitely be arranging future visits.“

“Highly recommend! I was hesitant at first because I had no idea what the majority of menu items were. I was completely blown away. I am a very picky person, but the menu and how the food was explained in full detail, no matter the question by our incredible waitress was the first sign this is the place to be! A huge thank you to the waitress especially, the staff as a whole and a huge high-five to the chefs for clearly putting your all in to every single menu item. “We received a gift card from a family member for $100 USD as a Christmas Present and were excited about enjoying a meal at this restaurant. The gift card was purchased directly from Joey's, not a 3rd party. We went and everything initially about the restaurant was very enjoyable. The food was very good, the service was attentive and we enjoyed our experience until the cheque arrived. When we we presented the gift card (electronically) our server went to speak with a ⁶manager and then returned to inform us that the $100 USD would be honoured in Canadian dollars. $100 USD is worth $144.50 Canadian dollars according to google when checked today. We paid the bill and tipped the service team 22% and left after effectively having $44.50 taken from us and our family member in what felt like to us, theft by conversion. The manager in question did not come to follow up after our expressing our disappointment JOEY's is already a very expensive restaurant. Further, the gift card information indicates that Joey's has US based restaurants. I'm quite sure that Canadian dollar gift cards are not accepted at par in the US. This ruined for us, what was otherwise a positive experience, through what felt like to us, an act of corporate greed and impersonal profiteering. After this experience we will not be back and sadly, I cannot recommend JOEY's as a place for anyone else to dine at. Any company that sells a gift card directly and then fails to deliver full value is patently dishonest, in my opinion.“

“Had a fabulous lunch there while visiting family in Ottawa from Nova Scotia over the holidays. I was wearing a Green Bay Packers hoodie as I do, being a fan and shareholder. One of the two guys serving and running the bar gave me a thumbs up and said they were big Packers fan. The food and service was outstanding, and when the bill was presented to our friend as he requested, he was informed that they weren't going to charge for the coffees for the Packers fans, lol. “A cozy diner-like atmosphere in the heart of Chinatown. Corner Peach is a lovely restaurant that features homemade meals that have a nice zip, tang and variety. In particular, the chicken liver mousse on bread with sour cherry jam is a delight. The desserts are nice, but perhaps a touch over-sweet. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this casual eatery with upscale cooking.“

“Was fortune enough to get the last seats at the bar during the Habs game on a busy Saturday night.
The food itself was great. The steak and frites was fantastic. The flatbread was amazing, same with the wings and nachos.

What could have been a limited service experience, Taryn absolutely crushed it, with what should have been a night where she has another bartender one with her.
Her attention level was fantastic, while still maintaining her duties for the staff needing drinks for their section, if only the male manager on the floor could have a work ethic that matched and supported.

Overall, incredible experience, but whoever makes the schedule, needs to do a better job of knowing what's going on in the city/sports games that will impact the business.“

“We ordered 2 chicken souvlaki plates through Uber Eats and when the order was delivered, there was only 1 plate in the bag. I called the restaurant immediately since the bag had been sealed and not tampered with so it was clear that the restaurant messed up. The restaurant offered to make another plate but unfortunately they don't have their own delivery drivers so we had to drive to them and pick up the other plate. Once we got there, the owner was very apologetic and offered us a free item from their menu and a dessert. This is an example of good customer service. I get that mistakes happen but it's how a business handles their mistakes that makes all the difference. This was handled very well, in my opinion and we will order from Oh My Grill again in the future. By the way, the food was excellent! I have to take the review down to 4 stars because of the fact that we had to drive to pick up the corrected order but otherwise it would have been 5 stars.“

“The space is pretty basic and not especially inviting, but the food more than makes up for it. Everything I ordered was fresh and full of flavor, with the wontons being a highlight. It’s a small operation with just a couple of people running things, so it can get busy and service may be slow at times—but if you’re patient, it’s definitely worth it for the quality of the food.“

“Shinka is everything you could want for an intimate date night or a beautiful lunch.
The setting when you first come inside will take you by surprise, however the dining room is so nicely put together that you forget all about it after you walk inside.

Joel, the manager, is always pleasant and easy to talk to, and all of the staff we have ever had have been kind.

The food is outstanding- the quality of the fish cannot be beat. Whether you are going in for a la carte or the omakase, it is going to be an incredible meal.

For those who, like me, cannot have gluten, this is the place to be.
