“Such an amazing place. So kind and treat everyone like family. Food is delicious. We got the half half (hot topic and overload) and wow the flavors were fantastic. The blackened fish and shrimp were cooked perfectly. We also got fried catfish&fries, catfish was perfectly battered- not too thick and perfectly crispy. Will definitely be coming back. Only bad thing is that it’s so far from where we live (I guess it’s not bad thing for my waist 😅)“

“The place is beautiful. I appreciate that they enforce the dress code, which is what I like to see in a restaurant like this. Every staff member was so nice. Our particular servers in the smaller dining area, were great. Very knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. The bartenders deserve recognition as well for the fast and friendly service. I regret that i haven’t tried this restaurant before but i will definitely be back.“

“We had breakfast at Hull & Oak each morning during our honeymoon stay at The Laura Hotel, and it was such a wonderful experience. The food was always **hot, fresh, and delicious**, and it was the perfect way to start our mornings.
A special thank you to **Tanisha**, who served us each day. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Her warm personality and wonderful service made each breakfast feel relaxed and peaceful, which was exactly what we needed during our staycation honeymoon.
We truly loved every moment. Great food and exceptional service from Tanisha made our mornings at Hull & Oak one of the memorable parts of our stay. ❤🥂“

“Worth the wait! We arrived about 15 minutes before opening and joined the line. The line was almost an hour to get inside, but once we did, we were greeted by friendly staff and a handwritten daily menu. The staff offered samples and cuts of fresh brisket as we moved through to order. We tried a little bit of everything, and it was outstanding. My wife loved the sides (served family-style for sharing), and I loved the ribs and brisket. This is a must-do if you love barbecue and are in Houston!“

“First time guest. I ordered the catfish with etouffee, mac and Cheeseand yams a peach mango koolaid and peach cobbler. The food was well seasoned. It is made fresh to order. There was not a wait, as I came after the lunch rush. I think the lady forgot I ordered a dessert as two parties didn't receive it till we were leaving. I woukd try more options.“

“Excellent service, a real presentation of the food, all courses. I did restaurant week, but most at my table ordered off regular menu. The desserts were not as good as they sounded, but the entrees were great. A little heavy on the salt, but otherwise good. My family lived the Paella, and the beef medallions were rich and the appetizers of fried asparagus and a mix were good, but my favorite was the shrimp cocktail. Would get that again. We were in a private room for 8, and we had an excellent time. Valet is necessary, but I felt good about parking.“

“What a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful. A little special made whipped cream for a little girl’s pancake goes a long way with a mom! The skillet and chicken and biscuits was fresh and delicious. Thank you for starting our day off just right!“

“In town for business and stopped by for Sunday brunch solo. The live music was amazing, great atmosphere and the food was good. My waiter was busy behind the bar so not as attentive but since I was chilling it didn't matter much. The host at the door has excellent customer service so I will definitely return!“

“The oxtails with rice was delicious. You can’t go wrong with any of the sides. We had yams, cabbage, green beans and Mac & cheese. Everything had that homemade taste and the portions were large. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and welcomed in as if you’re family. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic southern food. 10/10.“

“The service was great spot on, the atmosphere was great as well just needed to have bigger tables for downstairs, the food came out in a timely manner, but I ordered the lobster 🦞 and shrimp so being a chef myself i smell everything that comes out of the kitchen they should have caught the bad smell coming from the plate, someone should have spoken to me or us about it. But there ribs were on point.
We will be back for Thursday night steak night.“

“We were in town for a show and everything was fantastic. The staff was kind and accommodating, the beer was ice cold, and the food was delicious. Victoria was our server and she took great care of us. Our group had Taquitos, the carne discada, a BLT salad, carne asada, creamed corn, mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and a few desserts — everything was delicious but I’ll say, my favorite part was the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. What a delightful treat!“

“We flew from Pensacola FL and had to visit. When I saw EVERYTHING was on point and delicious. Staff was so friendly, food was hot & fresh and I have NEVER had better tasting food from a restaurant. I normally can’t say everything was good when I visit a new place. We can on Saturday and again this morning before our flight. See y’all soon ??❤️“
