“Since first visiting back in 2024, I have not stopped buying Paix coffee. We loved it so much that we would drive 30 minutes from Midlothian to Downtown just to get our coffee early in the morning. We tell everyone about it, even now being back in Phoenix. We love it so much that we still order their beans for shipping so we can enjoy the same good taste at home. Cannot recommend enough, they have mastered the art of roasting and making coffee.“

“Front counter staff is friendly and quick and if you've been there, you've likely met the owner, Olaf. He takes great care of his guests. The place is super clean with tons of seating. Clearly, everyone has found out about it because it's busier every time I go—and I almost always run into someone I know. But there's still plenty of seating. High-quality coffee and food, great atmosphere, and you're supporting a local small business.“

“Sub Rosa is THE bakery in Richmond! I live about 2 hours away and always make sure I stop by when I’m passing by. It’s about half a mile off the highway, so it’s easy. There’s no parking lot, so finding parking can be an issue, but don’t let that discourage you!

The bread and baked goods are as close to being in Europe as I’ve found (I lived abroad for 8 years). Crusts are light, flaky and leave a little butter on your lips. Everything is fresh and full of flavor. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.

They serve and sell both Recluse and Afterglow coffee - both are excellent local beans.

“Sefton is the greatest cafe in richmond, the staff are so kind to everyone who comes in. I get the same thing every time I come in to the point where barista’s and the owners know my order 😂. I get it bc it’s easy on my stomach, but they have such an amazing looking menu and are always changing it to fit the season! I always make sure to bring friends and family who are visiting here because it really is a special part of the community 🙂“

I’m always in the mood for all-day breakfast items when I’m on a work trip, so I tried the pork sausage, egg and cheese on sourdough toast, and a delicious latte. Food and coffee were outstanding. It’s obvious the staff puts care in the prep of every sandwich. The toast was toasted perfectly with the right amount of crunch, eggs were lightly seasoned with pepper before whisking, and the cheese was nice and “melty”. Get your order “for here” , and Chill to the beats of new and old school jams while you enjoy this little local gem.“

“This cafe feels like the type of place where you can sit alone without feeling awkward. I came in around 4 PM with headphones and a book, and nobody bothered me even though I stayed quite a while. The hazelnut latte was smooth and not burnt tasting like some coffee shops nearby. I also liked that they kept the music at a normal volume. The only small issue was one chair near my table being shaky, but a staff member swapped it out after noticing me adjusting it repeatedly. Thoughtful service overall.“

“Genuinely love this place. There’s plenty of space to work remotely, especially upstairs. The baristas are also super friendly and give good recommendations on drinks. There is art on rotation on the walls throughout the shop that adds a nice vibe to the place. I attended the coffee class they have on 2nd Saturdays and was blown away by the knowledge of the instructor. Highly recommend signing up for it.“

“Guys. I thought I loved crossroads before. Then I tried their home made pop tart pastry? And I experienced a new level of limerance. This lil shop is crushing it. From their expansive selection of freshly baked pastries, delicious and perfectly pulled espresso shots and what I can only assume (will soon verify) is a scrumptious breakfast, they haven't disappointed me once. “I had heard about this place and had the opportunity to go. I always try the Turkish coffee whenever I am at an authentic coffee shop. This was amazing. Made exceptionally well. Very good value. The location is great for the city and tons of parking. I love the wall that describes the history of how coffee spread throughout the world. My new favorite place!“

“Such a cute biscuit shop! I got the special biscuit of the day, cheddar cheese, and the strawberry iced matcha. Both were good, and the biscuit was enormous!
Was very busy, but food and my matcha came out fast. Service was lovely.

“I bought some Dark as Dark from the grocery store! My wife likes dark roast! She usually uses a creamer. I drink mine black! This has to be the smoothest dark roast I have ever tried! I usually end up with a bitter aftertaste with the dark roasts I have tried so far. Not with this. We bought a grinder thinking that may be the problem but even with fresh beans lots of dark roasts still give that bitter aftertaste. This is tasty all the way through! I’ll be buying this from now on and I like the fact that we will be supporting a Va business as well. We will have to try out one of your locations in Richmond some time!“

It truly had lump crab and lobster in the omelette some omelettes when you deal with seafood are skimpy with the crab and lobster, but hands-down Lulu was one of the best and their omelette was truly well done sometimes omelettes are not cooked all the way through.
