“I ordered the signature malatang with less spice, and my friend ordered the sesame sauce spicy dry mix. I already had high expectations because some of my friends told me this is the number one malatang place.
It really hit the spot!! So delicious. The soup had rich umami flavor and paired well with all the ingredients. The spice level was just right for me since my stomach is usually too weak to handle spiciness.
I also tried some of my friend’s dish. She chose medium spicy. It was actually too hot for me, but still very tasty. Spiciness is very personal, so I recommend starting with your own comfortable level and then adjusting the spice level on your next visit. (Anyway, you’ll definitely come back!! ;))
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made my experience even more pleasant.
Also, the restaurant looked much more hygienic than other malatang places. Please keep up this great quality 🙏
The only thing I’d suggest improving is the meat container. It looked a little empty, and since the meat was rolled up, it was hard to tell how much I was actually getting.“

“Very nice place! We were seated immediately by our server Fanny she was very friendly!
We ordered some spring rolls a chicken and rice dish with mixed vegetables sweet and sour spareribs and some very tasty hot and sour soup !
Our order came within like 10 to 15 minutes after ordering. We couldn't finish the soup and I ate it for 2 meals later that week. Price was very reasonable $45.89!! can't beat the price and I've eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants and chinese tea is always usually free!
So I would recommend you try this place you won't be disappointed !“

“Been coming here since 2021 and it never disappoints. The Chick Peas Chongqing Noodles are my absolute favorite, and their Beef Tendon Noodle is super great too. The hand-pulled noodles are so chewy and the portions are huge! I also loved the Spicy Tofu and Bamboo Shoots... everything tasted fresh and authentic. The best part? They still serve the complimentary dessert jelly, which is such a nice thing!
It’s right across from Coquitlam Centre, clean, and the staff are always friendly. If you want a hearty, delicious meal that’s actually worth the price, this is the spot!“

“Rich, creamy broth with a gentle heat that perfectly complemented the tender fish and earthy mushrooms. The fresh vegetables and green peppercorn added a vibrant kick, and the red rice made it hearty and satisfying. A comforting, flavorful dish. I came with my big family and got great atmosphere too. If you are going to bring kids, it is good to order tomatoes sauce fish with yummy crispy pork.“

“Just a heads-up: this place is right next door to another restaurant, and it’s easy to walk into the wrong one—I actually made that mistake myself.
Once inside, the decor has a beautiful, ancient Chinese feel. We ordered a spice level 2 for Sichuan-style fish and smoked bamboo shoots with pork, and while both dishes definitely had a kick, they were deliciously spicy. That Sichuan fish was literal perfection—so melt-in-your-mouth tender it was a dream with the steamed rice. But the real sleeper hit? The smoked bamboo shoots. The texture was incredible and the smoky flavor was so addictive we couldn't stop eating it!“

“Me and my husband wanted to try out the food here, so we ordered a takeout. We got the Shanghai noodle with chicken, curry beef, honey prawns, honey garlic chicken, spicy deep fried chicken, and tofu beef soup (I dont remember the exact names). The price for all of this is reasonable I would say, but we did ordered a lot. All were delicious and filling! The portions were just right, not too small or too much, which is what I like. We will definitely come back here when were craving for Chinese food! Sorry I couldn't take photos, we ate the food immediately when we got home.“

“Lovely framed professional-looking photographs on the wall inside the restaurant. There were all these cute drawings too, including a happy mouse holding a little lantern with his tail! Pictured: tofu and veggie soup noodles, and various sauces provided.“

“I came here for lunch and was warmly greeted by the cashier and owner. They were both so helpful in explaining how to build my own Chinese poke bowl. Bowls start at only $12.88 and you choose a protein, base, sauce and 3 sides. I tried shrimp with thick noodles, dragon sauce and 3 veggie sides. The noodles were chewy and the sauce added a nice kick to it. I also tried the chicken curry over brown rice. I enjoyed the curry, next time I'm going to try their curry brisket over noodles.
They also have bubble tea! I tried mango milk tea with pearls and lychee black tea with coconut jelly. Both drinks were refreshing with a fruity taste and I liked that they weren't too sweet.“

“Had a wonderful dim sum experience at this harbor-side tea house! The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting, with lovely views adding to the relaxing vibe. Service was exceptional too; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. A perfect spot for a leisurely meal. Highly recommended!“

“We decided to drop by & order take out food . It only took 20 minutes wait , then went back to my car but my car won’t start on the first day of snow& was very cold. I called BCAA but it will take an hour & a half to arrive. Went back inside the restaurant & told the lady, she said ohh your food will be cold, offered us a table to eat( no dine in ) & gave us hot tea & bottled water. We are very thankful for their hospitality & kindness. It showed the true meaning of CARING.“

“Had high expectation due to the reviews. We only ordered a few dishes but they were a bit disappointing in my own opinion.
- The recommended Guoba Rou was a let down because it was basically deep fried breading in sweet sauce. The meat layer was so thin you could barely taste it. The fried breading was thick and chewy.
- Maybe we did not read the description but the egg plant dish was also in a very sweet sauce when we thought it would be savory. Its very heavy.
- Staff was nice and place was a bit small. If you want to eat in I would recommend checking in a bit early or reserving a spot.“

“This is our go-to restaurant whenever we don’t know where to go, we know the food here will always satisfy our cravings! I highly recommend the clay pot rice, it’s a must have! The rice is crispy on the outside and so flavourful with their customized sauce and meats! Just make sure to order it right away since it takes about 30 minutes to make.“

“A good, honest, but typically modest small Chinese restaurant. He cooks, she serves and sometimes one of their offspring help out. My wife and I go there often because we know we can get a good, tasty meal of sufficient size to tame our hunger, all at a reasonable price. There are plenty of similar restaurants, but the quality of the cooks vary and is why one wants to discover one that is consistently good. If you are looking for a go-to place for Chinese food for an informal lunch, try this place out. Hard to imagine being disappointed unless you were expecting white table cloths and fine wine for under $20.“

“I ordered the Dapan (Big Plate) Chicken. The food was good, though not my favourite. It was spicy and came with chicken, laghman (belt noodles), potatoes, and green and red peppers. You may want to order it to go, as it was served on a paper plate, which wasn’t very steady, and you can’t take leftovers home if you don’t finish. There’s also no free tap water available, even when asked, so keep that in mind. Be prepared to wait about 20 minutes for your food, as there’s only one person handling both orders and cooking.“

“Everyone in our group was really happy with both the flavor and quality of the food. They serve dishes you don’t often see in other restaurants, and they know how to make them right, like the Chinese pickled long beans with pork, which is a family favorite! The spicy sour fish was also spot on. It’s a small place, but very clean, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Friendly family run breakfast noodle shop located in the food court attached to T&T in Surrey.
The prices here are very decent and the front counter team is very friendly. They usually have a decent sized line of people - so be prepared to wait a little bit.

“I remember bubble world back when I used to be in highschool. There used to be a location in Coquitlam on North Road where I went to during my school breaks. I love the food, it is definitely nostalgic and comforting. The drinks are always delicious, and the people are always friendly and kind. It's not fancy, but it doesn't pretend to be either. It's a chill atmosphere, kids love it, I like how they post pictures of what the kids draw on their wall. Gives the place a welcoming fun vibe. They've of course updated their drinks and food since I used to be in highschool (20 years ago). I'm so glad this place still exists and hope business continues to do well for them. Also their chicken nuggets are to die for.“

“Ordered for the first time since our usual restaurant is no longer an option… I wish I found this restaurant sooner! Food was absolutely delicious! Flavourful n so elevated, not greasy and such clean bold tasting! 100% recommend n will definitely make this my go to from now on!“
“Fairly large portion for the price. Lots of savoury tender pieces of lamb generously seasoned with cumin spice and a hint of chili heat. The onions and scallions were fresh and fragrant. I waited about 15-16 mins for the food, which seemed a bit slow for a food court but I didn’t mind knowing it was made to order as everything was fresh and hot when I picked it up. You can choose to eat in the food court (plenty of seating) or take away. This Taiwanese food stall seemed pretty busy with the most popular item being the Taiwanese crispy fried chicken nuggets…I think I might try that next time I’m in the Henderson Ctr mall.“

“During holidays and festivals, if you're planning to sample local delicacies with your family, Kirin Seafood Restaurant is an unmissable choice. The atmosphere here, with the whole family gathered around the table enjoying each dish, is sure to leave a lasting impression. The ingredients, whether from the sea or land, are incredibly fresh and delicious. The typical dishes from Hong Kong and various provinces are unforgettable. Parking is convenient, with both indoor and outdoor options. While the bill might be a bit high, the delicious food and the warm, harmonious family atmosphere make it all worthwhile!“

“I always have had a good experience in the 15 years I’ve been coming here. Heidi and all the staff are wonderful. I love supporting them and seeing everyone. The large portions for dinner are incredible for the price!!! I always have left overs. I love that they offer many vegetarian options too. They offer many Canadian-Chinese dishes and traditional Chinese dishes with some Canadian/American favourites (like hamburgers). I recommend the mushroom fried rice, onion pancakes (it’s like rosti), or the bean spout chow mein... especially with the chili oil they offer at each table. But the big plate of broccoli in garlic sauce is my favorite if you want something light but filling. They also offer it with Chinese broccoli. My friends and family love the daily specials and combo plates... if you don’t want a big plate of 1 big thing, the combos plates let you get 3 of the main dishes: a fried rice, a chow mein, sweet and sour pork or chicken, etc. For Family dinners they even offer a family combo “dinner for 2/4/6/etc” and have different daily specials. They also offer breakfast, dim sum, wonton soup, and other items. I also recommend their french fries. They SO good but they always come fresh hot and crispy. (Just really good simple fries.) They used to be known as the Austin Heights Diner (1989-2013) if you’ve been a longtime resident of coquitlam, I urge you visit them at their new location.“

“May Rice Roll & Congee Chinese Restaurant is a solid 4-star neighbourhood spot for a simple Chinese breakfast or lunch. The rice rolls and congee were fairly average, but it’s a good option when you’re craving something mild and comforting. The owner/server was very kind and welcoming, which added to the experience. Overall, it’s a cozy local place with a steady stream of regulars—nothing fancy, but dependable and relaxed.“

“I got the asado, coconut bun and the chicken deluxe steamed buns. The asado was good but had a couple of hard fat bits which kinda bummed me out. The chicken deluxe was definitely better and MASSIVE. The picture does not do it justice. The filling is really good and the egg is spectacular. I also wanted to highlight how it was a lot of bread though. The coconut bun had this really nice glaze on it and had a good amount of filling to it. I would say it’s slightly better than maxims or saint. germain.
The service is really good, the ladies working are super kind and will give you a fresh batch if you’re eating it right away. If you’re eating there it’s a table charge of $2.50 per person. It’s also cash only!!!“

“This was my first time trying potato noodles, and I really enjoyed the chewy texture! I went with medium spiciness, which was perfectly spicy without upsetting my stomach. It was so good I ordered takeout a few days later, and it tasted just as good as dining in with the claypot.“

“Wonderful little place I just stopped by for a bite to eat and a coffee. Lovely owners and atmosphere, DELICIOUS FOOD!!!The decor and interior could use a bit of sprucing up, but honestly that doesn't matter too much to me personally. It's a shame that there are bad reviews from the previous owners that seem to be affecting this place's overall rating, so if you're just checking this out now, I would highly recommend to stop by and give this place a try!“

“One of the things I really like about this hot pot buffet is the variety beyond just the hot pot itself. They offer a nice selection of complimentary snacks, side dishes, and desserts, which makes the whole experience feel more complete and enjoyable.
It’s also a great place to come with friends. The atmosphere is relaxed, there’s plenty of food to share, and everyone can find something they like. Whether you’re catching up or just hanging out, it’s an easy spot for a group meal.
Overall, a fun and satisfying place to dine, especially if you enjoy having lots of options!“

“Service was friendly and not intrusive, and even though it got busy the staff stayed on top of things. The place felt lively, perfect for a group dinner. The price is higher than a regular place because it’s all-you-can-eat premium hot pot, but if you love hot pot and want variety, it’s worth it at least once.“

“This is a hidden gem in a tiny mall food court. Portion size was huge for our beef noodles. A lot of protein. We also had an order of xiao long bao which tasted like homemade dumplings. Food came out fast in 15 min. A young teenage girl who gave us the food was extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite of delicious gourmet Chinese cuisine in Coquitlam. 👍👍👍“

“Been coming here since their grand opening in 90s. I went there as a young kid in high school and still go there now. They literally watched me grow up and our family constantly go there almost every week for a take out or dine in. Prices were uber cheap with plenty of lunch specials that were giant proportions, but now as with all other restaurants prices have gone up. Their sets used to be around $30 for 3 entrees plus a free soup, rice and a free crab. Yes we are talking the 90s and my family of 3 can eat for 3 - 4 days as leftovers. But I still go there out of loyalty and remembered tastes and food is same as before. I took 1 star off the food because I think the food has gone a bit bland...is it my old age taste buds or did they change chefs?“

“I started coming here just recently after they had a change in management a couple of years ago.The previous owners provided very tasty food so I thought I would give this restaurant another go.I ordered the combo #4 meal with chicken chow mein and I was very satisfied with the quality and the quantity. The chop suey was very lightly sautéed so the vegetables were very crunchy which is what I like. The sweet and sour pork was reasonably moist and lean.No breaded blobs of fat. There was so much food on the plate that I could barely finish it and even 4 hours later I was still quite full. They refilled my water without me having to ask.I highly recommend Main Choice.😋“

“This pizza, it is absolutely phenomenal and the price is incredible. The driver even brought me a plastic cup double cupped, because I had ordered a two liter seven 7up. It was the perfect addition to my large pizza. Then add the delivery. And it only came up to twenty seven dollars. I'm being on a budget after moving.
It was the perfect addition to a very tiring night and day ..... I give this place a thousand percent rating of perfection.$$$$$$“

“Absolutely incredible. My partner and I tried the restaurant for the first time and we were both blown away by the quality of the food.
We ordered the combo meal with salt and pepper chicken and Kung Pao beef, and I had to pause every few minutes between mouthfuls to gush about how good everything tasted. The seasoning for the chicken was perfect; the Kung Pao beef was tender and flavourful; and the fried tofu was an explosion of crispy batter and tender tofu meat.
The restaurant occupies a small, unassuming space, but its quality puts many of the bigger, fancier restaurants to shame.
Run, do not walk, to try Aroma Eatery. You won't regret it.“

“Ordered from this Cantonese restaurant by phone tonight. Free delivery within 5 km for orders over $40, and they even included free spring rolls.
Portions were very generous and everything was delicious. The diced chicken and salted fish fried rice(鹹魚雞粒炒飯)was hands down the best I’ve had in Vancouver, full of rich, savory flavor. The sweet and sour pork with pineapple(菠蘿咕咾肉)was also very authentic.
The beef with pan fried rice noodle(乾炒牛河)was a bit light on seasoning, but not greasy at all, which I appreciated. Delivery was fast and overall the experience was great.
Will definitely order again.“

“It is not a typical restaurant you would chose but we heard good things about the menue, quality and price ratio and gave it a try. The chicken corn soup was a warm hug on a cold and rainy day. Just like my grandmother would have made it. The hotpot dish was a nice crowning to keep the heat in the body. The flavourful combination of tofu, meat, aubergine and spice was great the dessert of mango pudding and the redbean dessert gave it a nice round up to the already hearty meal. The journey from north Vancouver was worth it.“
