“Great ramen and sushi restaurant in a small strip mall. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is not big, but has a large table in the middle for a larger group and some smaller tables for groups of 2 to 6, and some bar seating. We were warmly greeted and could sit anywhere. We ordered two ramen soups, a truffle mushroom variety and a spicy beef version. With both, we chose them as a combo with gyoza and spicy tuna, respectively. The soups came quickly and looked and tasted amazing. They played country music, which was a bit unexpected. But still 5 stars for food and service. Overall, a place we have bookmarked for our next trip.“

“We came here just for some bites. No ramen this time. Staff is friendly, eager to serve your food and help with anything. I love the big wave art on the wall with the several characters all over. Seating area is comfortable. My advice for the hand roll is try to eat it quickly because whenever I leave it sitting for a bit it just kinda turns a little chewy.“

“Although Kokiyo is a small restaurant; the service, atmosphere, and food is amazing. I ordered a creamy broth ramen and it was the best creamy broth ramen I ever had. Both slices of the pork belly chashu were so tender it practically melts after taking a bite. Rather than taking the unfinished portion to-go, the meal was so spectacular that I had to finish it. Also the pickled radish is a must try.“

“Soooooooo goooood! Had the Black Tonkotsu soy sauce ramen with pork broth, bamboo shoots, soy sauce, green onions, egg, bbq pork, and black garlic oil. Everything was very fresh and savory! The second time I went there I ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen that has pork broth with chatsu (bbq pork) topped with green onions, corn and egg.“

“Went for an early dinner on Tuesday. I was surprised to find a brand new AYCE menu option at the Garden Grove location. It is $24 and available all day. There is a lot of ramen, appetizers and sushi rolls to choose from.
I had the tonkatsu black ramen which had a lot of toppings. The noodles were chewy and bouncy. The broth was fantastic. I also had the tonkatsu miso ramen. Just as delicious and recommend both.
For appetizers I recommend the grilled gyoza, the shrimp tempura and the egg rolls. The char is the grilled gyoza took it to another level for me. The tempura is crispy and not oily at all. The egg rolls were crispy and filled with flavorful vegetables.
For sushi rolls I got a California roll, a Dragon roll, an OMG roll and spam musubi. The rolls are all really packed with ingredients and all fresh and delicious. The spam musubi is really thick cut. I recommend all of them.
The AYCE MENU is only available at the Garden Grove location and I cannot wait to go back and try more options.“

“I came early around 5:15pm for a weekend dinner. There is more parking than i expected behind the building. The waiters were attentive in refilling my water and checked in to see if i was doing ok. Otherwise, the food (vegan mazemen) was filling and they provide some rice to top off with the sauce. I would definitely come here again.“

“This place is added to my go to ramen restaurants. I ordered spicy miso, and it was a bit salty for me but still very delicious! I forgot what my family ordered, but I think 1 of them ordered the Tonkotsu, though I still think spicy miso was the best option. The line and waiting are not that bad. The only problem is if you go as a group of 4+ people during busy hours like dinner time, it might be a bit difficult to find a parking and seating spot. The staff is really nice and friendly.
Overall, would recommend trying this place if you like ramen!“

“Great Ramen! You can either build your own or order or something off the menu and ordering off the menu is definitely a little bit less.
Soup was really good, although I think I prefer it with udon noodles instead of the yellow ones.
It was the perfect food on a rainy day.“

“This ramen chain maintains its quality standards throughout their various branches. I’ve been to some of their other locations and haven’t ever been disappointed. They have 3 vegan ramen options along with some vegan appetizers. I did the Impossible Rice Bowl and the Impossible Gyoza. Both were very delicious. The restaurant is situated in a nice outdoor shopping mall with adequate indoor and outdoor seating. Can’t say there’s anything wrong with this restaurant.“

“Soooooo good. I can still get in here with no line, however, there will come a time…….when there will be a long wait!“

“Waited approximately one hour to be seated. Spoiker: it was well worth that wait. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen and pork buns. I can't decide which part was better, the noodles or the broth! The pork buns were priced just right at $8 for 2. Some of the best I've had. You are all so lucky to have such a wonderful ramen bar in your community. I am from Maine and will be sure to stop by this establishment every chance I get once I am in town.“

“This place usually has a line, but if you go early enough of during off peak hours you'll be served quickly and efficiently.
The staff are always friendly and the quality of the food is very consistent.
My wife picked up the vegan yasai ramen which is a ginger mushroom broth base, while I ordered the standard spicy tonkotsu.
If you come during lunch their $1 special is an incredible deal, if you come after lunch then their other add on deals are still definitely worth it!
We shared an additional rainbow roll which was an assortment of their salmon, tuna and or yellow tail with a crab combination. A great deal and option if you wanted to try all their fish.
The ambiance is very nice and easy going, a small quaint space with lines and tables moving quickly even if you're outside waiting. Definitely a worth while spot if you're looking for sushi or ramen!“

“It's esp. good during chilly, cold weather. The (okonomiyaki) egg-noodle dish was tasty--would love for them to make it more Japanese style, so good!
Miso ramen was flavorful enough. Tuna on crispy rice YUM.
Poke was OK--maybe ditch the mayo & pool of soy sauce.
Service terrific. Sat 3:45 PM meal.
May Mako Ramen thrive through 2025 & 2026 (brace for it, America).“

It’s here that tradition and modernity collide to create not just a meal, but an experience worth savoring. The moment you step through the doors of Kin Izakaya, you’re greeted by an atmosphere that’s both lively and intimately comforting. The ambient lighting, coupled with rustic décor and understated oriental motifs, offers a welcoming reprieve from the city’s hustle and bustle. The soft murmur of patrons engaged in animated conversation sets the backdrop for an authentic izakaya experience. Kin Izakaya’s menu is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese fare and innovative culinary creations. The tapas-style dishes, perfect for sharing, encourage a communal dining experience. From the delicate flavors of their sashimi to the robust, savory notes found in their yakitori selection, there’s a delightful complexity in each dish presented. “I've been on a mission to try omurice with demiglace sauce and not the lazy ketchup drizzle. While Aoki No Chuuka didn't have Omurice, they did have Curry Omumeshi. It looked interesting and from the pictures, it looked like demiglace sauce. So I ordered it to try. This was very tasty. The curry fried rice is delicious. While the sauce doesn't seem like it is demiglace sauce but something similar to Bulldog Brand Sauce. It still worked. Definitely recommended.“

“This place is easily one of the best sushi spots on 2nd street, delicious options with plentiful portions. I tried the Mexican, AAA roll and the deep fried California roll with all 3 being stellar. The atmosphere is lively and the greeting when you walk in from the sushi chefs is nice ?
Kid-friendliness: Kids menu portion has 4 different options, basic chicken with veggies and rice being one of them.

“This is my 2nd time visiting Meiji. The food was so good and I totally forgot to take some pictures and write the review on my 1st visit. Today I took some pictures and wrote this review. This place has best udon in town. I ordered 4 most popular dishes, beef Shabu Shabu Udon, Shrimp Tempura Udon, Fried Squid Legs, and Fried Chicken. They are all very tasty. Their udon noodles are handmade and the soup broth is so delicious. The restaurant has ambience of Japanese tastes of hometown. This restaurant is not very big but they do offer online waiting list. I would recommend joining their waiting list before you visit the restaurant. Definitely will come back again!“

“First time coming here and sushi is pretty good quality. I opted for the spicy tonkotsu but was not spicy enough, but the pork chashu was pretty charred and tasty. I also ordered the yellowtail lover and tuna with lemon slices roll.
All rolls are 4 pieces which is nice because if you want to try many rolls vs just trying one roll. 4 pieces for under 10 dollars is such a good deal. People recommended me the sashimi salad or 2 other options that are big enough for 4 people with variety of fresh sashimi.“

“My brother and I wanted to try a new ramen place and ended up here. The food itself was great as I got the bulduk ramen and tempura shrimp and my brother got the tonkatsu. It was all good until I wanted the check. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for a check. The front of staff was more concerned with the group next to us or being idle. I have pressed to call for a server multiple times and hearing the ping letting them know a table needed help but I could not get their attention. I only got my check after the table next to us asked for a check when I told them I wanted a check. I partly blame the system for not properly letting the staff know since the ping only went off for a server request but also for how unattentive the staff is to some other guests. We were at the corner of the bar.“

“Simple food is simply the best food! The gyoza was made with love and soo tasty, and the pan-fried crispy side was perfection! The tonkatzu was crispy and juicy! Perfect to dredge through the sweet and spicy curry ? ? I ate it all! The servers were really friendly, and the atmosphere was fun with Japanese pop music playing. The place just needed one more thing, you! Go check it out and bring some friends!“

“Siempre va a ser mi restaurante favorito. No he comido sushi como este en ningún otro lugar. He venido desde hace dos años en distintos tiempos y siempre que regreso es igual de bueno. El servicio es bueno, el sushi es fresco. Solo me gustaría que regresaran las botellas de salsa de soya porque estaban muy lindas. De ahí en fuera todo 10/10“

“Hidden gem Korean spot!
The seafood knife-cut noodles are a must — generous in portion, especially for the price.
The fried tempura plate is easily one of the best I’ve had — light, crisp.
This place is seriously underrated. Foodies should be lining up.“

“Food itself was excellent with their tasty broth and tender meats. The udon noodles were amazing all around. The soup dumplings are a must try also with the pork inside being so savory. The service itself was very quick and using a self ordering kiosk is very easy and honestly convenient. Atmosphere wise the whole place is small so it creates a cozy vibe while you chow down on some awesome food. 10/10 will be coming back after our next disneyland trip.“
